I am liking how ICOs are being used to fund some interesting tech projects. I enjoy researching what people are trying to do. I have always been a futurist and this feels like the beginning of something interesting.

The thing to remember is that the government is just a bunch of people, often very confused, hungry, irritated, suspicious of change. when you think of the government think of the worst possible elderly couple ahead of you in a line at a buffet.

the natural emotional state of the bureaucrat is Fear Uncertainty and Doubt.
those with power fear losing their power.
that said they also profit from crypto every time they seize someones assets. a few years aback I recall reading about how the world's biggest bitcoin wallet was owned by the U.S. government, then of course they sold it all before the spike that was this last winter. however they are always finding some reason or another to take control of someones assets.

I prefer long term investment which means doing my research before buying a coin. If you don't have a good understanding of the potential of your coins, your trading plans are pretty much just arbitrary and emotional responses to the daily flux.

You may as well be asking a magic 8 ball about the little daily fluctuations in the value of coins. Buy for long term investment and instead of spending your time fretting over whether today is a red day or a green day maybe spend that time adding value to your life in some other way. educate yourself or go for a bike ride.

i wonder how long that $50 million is going to last them. young guys like that cant spend the rest of your life on a beach looking over your shoulder hoping no one recognizes you.

As the information age progresses and more people are financially interacting with each other regardless of national borders. money and information flow unevenly, the boulders causing turbulence in these streams are the big financial and governing institutions. alternatives to fiat currencies are inevitable.
What makes cryptocurrency better then fiat?
Cryptocurrencies are decentralized. Simple as that.

Altcoins are good for day trading because they have more rapid fluctuations as compared to some of the older more stabilized markets. are you really making more money if all of your time is spent obsessing over little fluctuations? you could be doing something more productive with your time.

oh.. ouch Brad, no need to get so personal about it.

while some governments rubber stamping their approval may be good for those of us who are already heavily invested doesn't it kind of go against the basic concept of it being about a decentralized currency without a central bank or government administration?

the world is changing slowly in most ways and to fast to keep track of in others. cryptocurrency is an infant still. I hope that as it matures we will all see more financial freedom.

well do you already have the equipment? if so then don't mine if i do. hopefully nothing breaks and is expensive to replace. as far as investing in a ton of new gear to do it on. probably best not to.

Money is used by criminals. that's like finding out businessmen use money. so yes of course crypto currencies will be used for crime. there will of course be plenty of articles about how evil people are using some scary new technology. it's a topic that draws readers and that is often sadly all a journalist cares for anymore rather than informing their readers. so whenever this comes up: "criminals use Bitcojn!" just remember that: of course criminals use money.

We could come together to re-establish trust for people who are DT targets, but that would be a somewhat time consuming manual process.

Someday we should have smart contracts which keep track of that stuff for us, calling itself yearly or something.  But I want smart contracts for everything.

A nice consolidated feed of these social media outlets would be nice. Gotta filter spam somehow though.  Lets users control which feeds to add in. Not sure how to get the 'word of mouth' thing in there since you won't really know their update channel either.
