61  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are your worse experience as a bitcointalker? on: March 23, 2018, 09:12:26 PM
Remember your first day in elementary school or even high school?  How you had a sea of endless possibilities before you? The possibility of being bullied, harshly criticized and laughed at, having to face the most tiring, boring, and difficult courses, or in extreme cases, being spanked by your mean school teacher, like the part of the world where I come from.
Well as a newbie I have had a well evolved version of some of these feelings and I am quite sure we all did or still do.
For me the feeling of being destructively criticized or mocked by some “older member”. The grown up word for bully perhaps, lol.
Or the fear of breaking a rule that could possibly earn me a red flag or have me being kicked out.
Or the possibility of being scammed.
All of these feelings just reminds me of way-back days in school. so what was it for you as a new or old member? and what would be your words of encouragement to a newbie?

There are a lot of things you must learn about bitcointalk.org before you continue posting.

First off, your intro post was good. It didn't break any of the rules imho. It was a comprehensive post, with a good story, and not a rudimentary blah post that's too common. So that's got that going for it.

I believe you shouldn't take every higher ranked members' word for it. I've been here for like a month now... and I've seen higher ranked members get banned.

People on here buy and sell accounts. So even if someone is Sr member, they could just have the account for the first time.

The only members you should really put a lot of weight on are the ones with positive trust, without any negative trust, and with a lot of merit points. Those are the ones you know won't steer you the wrong way.

Also, you can tell the difference between normal members and Staff because it says "Staff" underneath their names.

I advise you to not look at bitcointalk as just a forum. It's a very strict forum for newbies.

You could possibly get banned if you go into a thread where someone says "I just made 50% profit on btc today" And replied with a simple: "good work man." <-- that is considered spam, unfortunately. On regular forums, typing that message is perfectly acceptable.

I don't see bitcointalk as a forum anymore, but rather a literary board. The standards are higher because there's so much hype around crypto and everyone wants a bitcointalk account.

That said, if you're proficient in English and can articulate your words well, you'll go places on this forum.

Every post you make, think first. It has to be solid and not extraneous.
thanks for the lesson
62  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The english language improvement thread on: March 23, 2018, 09:05:16 PM
As a non-English native, I have found that the best ways of improving one's English is a simple but uneasy trick, which is to write and speak it as often as you would like to get better at it
63  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cheapest electricity in the world on: March 23, 2018, 02:50:53 AM
I dont think there is any part of the world where electricity will be so cheap, even in third world countries. However, an alternative source like gasoline, solar or petrol powered generator sets can be cheap depending on the country.

64  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why people are unhappy? on: March 22, 2018, 02:48:58 AM
Well we must understand that to be happy we don't need the stars and all of the constellations to line in for us before we can be happy.
Happiness is a habit and like any habit it can be learned, it isn't a question of virtue but one of commitment to look on the little reasons around us why we must be happy and not the absence of reasons why we shouldn't be.
Although doing the things we love and staying around those we love also have an effect in improving our general levels of happiness.
65  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How to stop smoking? on: March 22, 2018, 01:41:40 AM
First of thanks for every suggestion. I slowly over the years became a smoker. I became aware of my addiction. I tried quiting several timer, but every time I would come back to it and smoke even more.

I tried two things so far:

1. Fully stoping to smoke
2. Gradually reducing

But it backfired every time. How did you stop?

My friend, you need to understand the psychology of all addiction and that is "dependence to a neuro-chemical for homeostasis"  in this case that neurochemical is nicotine, and if you have been smoking for as little as three months, trying to quiet with just willpower might be more than what you need.

Your brain is now dependent on that "feel-good" neurochemical, nicotine, which helps it regain balance when ever you are out of balance, either through stress. This is because the human brain is built to help us SURVIVE NOT MAKE US HAPPY.
so my advise to you is, if you cant get a therapist, then go study about the neuro-science of addiction and get materials from those experts who understands this psychologically.

In my experience and observation with any form of addiction, whether it's porn or dope, LIFE STYLE CHANGE NOT WILLPOWER IS THE PREMISE OF CHANGING ANY ADDICTIVE BEHAVIOR.
hope I helped.
66  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Millennials Are At High Risk For Bitcoin & ICO Fraud -- Why? on: March 21, 2018, 03:27:53 PM
All over the media, the age group that seem engrossed with the blockchain evolution seem to be the millennials. The are the replacement to an already passing generation and they seem to be the most curious and fascinated by changes like these.

So let them make all the mistake they can, they will eventually learn and adapt. However, age is still just a number.
67  Economy / Reputation / Re: Merit abusers: Maxcrypto1990, sp564, koryu, crypt0heaven on: March 21, 2018, 03:16:36 PM
Maxcrypto1990 / sp564 / koryu / crypt0heaven

To start discussion. 2 accounts are registered at the same time. But to have 2,3,5,many accounts is not forbidden. It is forbidden to participate in 1 bounty campaign and give merit to yourself or trade it.

You can familiarize with the messages that they put +merit. Pay attention that all the merit were received in one day and less than 30 minutes!!!
Maxcrypto1990 and sp564 are exactly one person who gives himself Merit. koryu and crypt0heaven most likely sold their Merit to this guy

PS I do not know whether it was necessary to write here or in another section. I apologize for the quality of the pictures

omfg.xekcep this is quiet an observation and I think you ought to be a detective out here (lol).
Well I think incidence like this with such merit restrains are inevitable. However, rather than spend you precious time chasing the "bad guys", why not think of ways to be of benefits to newbies, also I think with brains like yours you will be very resourceful in providing useful info to the house, but you really do need to work on your grammar usage.
Hence, in view of your poor use of grammar, I am volunteering to do a proof read  and grammar edit, every week for your for any of your post you think would be helpful to folks like me, and two each day for all non-English native, junior members or members, who also have interesting topics they would like to post.

All request will be on the thread, but the post will be transferred via private message to avoid plagiarism.

I will open a thread on that and once I do the terms will be well spelt out.
68  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Get Merit on: March 21, 2018, 02:46:40 PM
In view of bad use of grammar for non native speakers, I am volunteering to do three proof read and grammar edit, every day till further notice, for all non-English-natives,who are junior members or members, and have an interesting topic they would want to post, but have difficulty, producing a grammatically sound and coherent post.
All request will be on the thread, but the post will be transferred via private message to avoid plagiarism.

I will open a thread on that and once I do the terms will be well spelt out.

71  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Really The Future Of Money? on: March 20, 2018, 02:22:37 PM
well you could say that three years ago, but now I think that belongs to all promising crypto-currencies not just bitcoin
72  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Article and Content writers Needed on: March 14, 2018, 01:58:41 AM

Kind regards

73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's effect Facebook banned will have on ICOs today on: March 13, 2018, 02:50:03 PM
Facebook have it new policy pertaining to initial coins offerings 'ICOs' . The policy specifically prohibits ads that promote ICO on it platform.
The banned is due to the fact there are so many companies who are advertising ICOs that are not currently operating in good standards and faith.
In the meantime, Facebook is encouraging people to report content that violates this new policy.
What effect do you think this will have on ICOs and future  of cryptocurrencies?

i cant see anything that affect a huge scar on bitcoin industry since there are lot of platform to showcase that ICO therefore the ICO will find a new way to reach people thru social media , twitter are still existing and also youtube are there  but has not used by many so they can used youtube as an alternative to facebook..
With all the shit coins we have all over the place, and scammers running away with crowdfunds, I wouldn't blame a company like FB. If I were Mark Zukerberg I will do the same to protect the reputation of my business. However, with good regulations of ICO's in the future, FB will eventually open back her door's to crypto ADs.
But I think the effect isn't noticeable.
74  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Where to find Developers? on: March 13, 2018, 02:18:14 PM
Yeah going to a freelancer platform would really be you best bet in finding someone suited for the job.
You'll probably be able to find someone with experience on Upwork or Guru for example or perhaps even Fiverr for smaller jobs like logo design or writing (if needed).

It also couldn't hurt to post something here in the forum in the 'Services' section, but make sure you don't get scammed and find a reputable member.

If you're looking to start an ICO or coin, there are certain companies that offer specific services for that too.
Job board sites are the best place cos you would be getting it at a relatively cheaper rate, cos of the fierce competition. Upwork is usually my go-to Job board for coding jobs. Also, you don't wanna get a freelancer for that kinda job on fiverr, cos it's very easy for freelancers to  buy good reviews and lie about their nationality on fiverr, which isn't the case for Upwork. However I have no real-life experience on freelancer.com.
Finally, if you would be getting an Upworker, make sure you get someone with at least a 500 working hours, an Impeccable track record of client review, and one whose profile, portfolio, and cover letter is convincing enough. Just look well before leaping.
75  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-03-12] Why the 'Worst' Crypto Networks Will Be The Biggest on: March 12, 2018, 03:43:11 PM
I think this all depends on the importance the user places on decentralisation. I think a well read user of cryptocurrency who understands the potential will put up with slow progress in order to be maintain a decentralised system. My fear is that we are in a lemons market and your theory that the worst projects will succeed may be true
well in a way that's true
76  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-03-12] Why the 'Worst' Crypto Networks Will Be The Biggest on: March 12, 2018, 01:19:46 PM
One thing we fail to look at when we talk of blockchain networks is the part where early adopters have the most share of the tokens and also having the rules of the community in their favor. While we may talk highly of the decentralization feature of  blockchain networks, I still think blockchain networks still have a long way to go with regards to being sufficiently decentralized.
Until we stop having "whales" influencing a network, then I will agree with the absolute decentralization song we sing.
Nice similarity by the way.
77  Other / Off-topic / How do you tell if its your intuition or your believe system? on: March 11, 2018, 10:00:23 PM
we've all gotten that hunch and have it coming through for us like we some sort of psychic. But then, there comes a time when you can hardly tell if its your believe system, fears or complacency that is holding you back.
so how do you tell the difference?

79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / THE ONE WORD DEFINITION OF WHAT THE BITCOIN AND THE BLOCKCHAIN IS on: March 11, 2018, 02:02:35 PM

As a content writer I remember the first cypto writing job I got; with zero Idea on what Bitcoin or the blockchain is and an overwhelming pool of complex resources of what business the Bitcoin has with the blockchain tech.
After a lot of research and the first job, I still had that subtle dissatisfaction as to what “one word” is the most important word that defines all of what the blockchain tech is and all of what its offshoots stands for.
For complex inventions like:
The internet it compressed the globe into a village
Automobile changed the way we move
and many others

While the blockchain is already disrupting: the homeostasis in many industries, aspects of our social and technological lives, and still loaded with an infinite amount of possibilities coming with it, the one best word that best describe what this is all about is “TRUST”.
With all I have seen, read, watched and listened to about the blockchain one resource that did very well to explain what this is all about was a Tedtalk by Richie Etwaru https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k53LUZxUF50
In that talk he was able to give a simple-statement-punchline that defined all that the blockchain is, which is:  “It is changing the way we trust.”
Of course, I expect you to have your one word/statement punch-line of what you think the Bitcoin and the blockchain is?
Just keep it rolling guys.

well as as newbie I guess one's best weapon to become the best is the same advantage a two year has at life' which is "curiosity". It gives you so many things from attention to information and mastery, that is the one and only weapon in my arsenal as a newbie, I think you should try it out.
