61  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Phoenix Rising: Front End GUI to Phoenix Miner on: June 09, 2011, 08:38:49 AM
Great software really quite impressive that you created this in such a short time span. There aren't many features that i can think of that would make this any better. Tried ubuntu but the lack of overclocking software mixed with frontend gui made windows the fall back. Will donate once my miner start producing again.
62  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How many GPUs can Windows 7 Support? on: June 03, 2011, 11:17:04 PM
I plugged in 5 5870 cards into MSI 790-fx it saw the card and installed the driver but phoenix rising could'nt run the 5 card and gpu-z continued to say there was an error. So i think 4 is the limit but would love to know of a workaround so i could use my 890fxa gd-70 also

Great program Smiley
It would be nice if you could implement auto-start. Currently I can put it in the windows "Startup" folder but I still have to manually click "run"...
I agree but great program all the way around switched over from GUIminer and am very pleased. I like the more industrial feel of it much more thought out and great software. Thanks

Just joined and pretty happy with the experience, nice clean interface I also like the fact that it is a smaller pool. Switched over from Slush's pool which was great also the only thing i miss are those graphs, but other than that no regrets keep up the good work:)

What exactly is the verification process for new members? and are you just doing all this on donations set under "My Profile"? or is there a fee be block or round or something
-Thomas
Verification - nothing what you need to know or worry about if you honest miner Smiley
Pool use only donations, there is no any fees.

OK ok great i wan't sure if i needed to do anything. You should set the default at 1 or 2% donation and then allow people to change it.

67  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Windows Sidebar Gadget on: May 26, 2011, 06:40:11 AM
Yep, we want support of mining.bitcoin.cz  Grin

Great little gadget could be super useful if had just a bit more information im not sure what the API token is for in Slush's pool doesn't seem to add alot of functionality. If i could get some more function from slush pool i would be more than happy to donate, how can the grease monkey script obtain so much more information? Thank you though great idea

yup noticed we are down will this affect the scoring for the round? Because as i know it the more up time you have the slightly better your payout will be correct? So dedicated mining is more profitable per hour, right
69  Economy / Marketplace / Re: MtGox supports Dwolla on: May 19, 2011, 12:33:48 AM

71  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Dedicated Mining Rig on: May 06, 2011, 02:59:29 AM
5850 and 5870 take up 2 slots of space on the board and the case. 4 is the maximum number of cards you can put in 1 case unless you do the PCI-E extenders.
right which is why i said i would use PCI-E riser or extender, and a custom set-up to hold the card with some better spacing. I would also be willing to buy a skeleton chassis with custom spacing if anyone knows were to buy one.
PS took me awhile to figure out how to quote
72  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Dedicated Mining Rig on: May 06, 2011, 02:29:55 AM
Also what would be a better buy a diamond 5870 @$220 or Sapphire @152?
Is the PSU overkill cause its pretty expensive and hurting my budget
Thank you in advance-
Thomas
73  Bitcoin / Mining / Dedicated Mining Rig on: May 06, 2011, 02:24:21 AM
Hello ive been mining along at a respectable rate of 1ghash but i want more power!!! I was wondering if these specs would work
4x5850 Sapphire Extreme
1500w Silverstone PSU
Amd Sempron 140
MSI 890fx Motherboard (5pci-e x16 size 1 pci-e x1)
4gb generic ddr3
With the possibility of transferring my 1x5870 and another 5850 to the dedicated rig. Will this be enough power and can all 6 pci lanes work? I would have to use linux right?

Can anyone suggest any better components?
PS im planing on putting the rig on a custom built platform in the basement with technopagan's risers
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Now if only Mt Gox would bring many of the updates he's promising id be set. Grin BTW i'm new my name is Thomas, Hello hahaha
78  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: bitcoin mining quad xfire 5850 - need help picking mobo, case, psu on: May 05, 2011, 08:37:10 PM
If the 5850 is a 2 slot card, like the 5870, you'll want 3 slots for decent cooling, so you'll need a custom made rig. Also, you don't want or need crossfire, but you will need to do the HDMI mod to tell the OS that you have cards that don't have a monitor attached.

/edit Just saw that your not building it as a mining rig, so you will want to crossfire the cards for gaming.

Sorry whats the HDMI mod you were talking about? I would like to be able to diable monitors and not worry about them shutting down mining. Thanks
