a block chain goes in one direction only and it is temper proof, transactions are logged in blocks.
Bitcoin developers have arguments on to increase block size to allow more transactions or not and that divided the community.
Those who wanted to increase block size went ahead with the changes (now known as Bitcoin Cash). These changes are not compatible with Bitcoin and now we have two different chains running parallel.
Any transactions before fork (before Bitcoin Cash was created) will be valid on both chains. Yes, satoshi has stash on bitcoin and bitcoin cash intact.

if you had that much, then you can probably afford hardware wallets (2 or 3) and split across each.
2 cold storage
1 hot storage
and keep backup seed in a grave, in the pillow, behind the sugar mills, may be get a tattoo, memorize it (i would not recommend this). You get the idea. be creative when you have millions
Edit: about hardware wallets. always reset them before using. just to be safe. never use a wallet if there is already generated seed on it.
when you power on the wallet for first time, it will ask you to create a new seed. visually inspect to make sure it has not been tamper with and you can even check nano S verification on it's site.

1. Are there better alternatives to Coinbase in terms of purchase fees and transaction?
2. Wouldnt it maybe be cheaper to buy LTC, move it to the exchange and buy BTC with it?
Robinhood - commission free but long line. Not sure if they will allow you to move BTC so something to research before using it. |

im mining on nicehash and my wallet to transfer btc (when it reaches 0.01 is at bitconnect website(I did that on december)) i mined about 0.005btc already, and now bitconnect temporarily disabled btc/bcc deposited.
what can i do? I don't need stupid answers.

That link is when ETH and ETC got forked. You can try importing the private key in MEW for ETH and see if balance is there. I am doubting that you can recover it from this point but try it.

Apporoximately 6 hours ago I transferred approx $90 worth of bitcoin from my coinbase wallet to my Gdax account using the Gdax transfer option. The status of the transfer shows up on both Gdax and Coinbase as complete but still no btc balance in my gdax account.
Something is obviously wrong as the transfer from Coinbase wallet to Gdax is supposed to be instataneous. Of course no way to speak to a real person at coinbase or gdax for assistance.
Any ideas what went wrong and where my btc is?

Do not use andOTP
App is buggy and it deletes all the codes
it was such a pain to recover all the codes and go back to Google Authy. There is saying if it isn't broken then don't fix it. Use titanium and back it up.
I have been using andOTP for over 5 months and never had any issue or heard about it. How about you create an issue in their github repo instead of posting something vague like that? Still, your codes won't get deleted and lost if you backup them. That's the whole point of using a different 2FA app like andOTP. Enable and backup. Easy right? It's not vague. I spent 5 hours recovering all my accounts. I tried it twice. First time andOTP got cleared. Second time I was able to backup it and then I re-open the app to see all the codes gone but then I tried to restore and that didn't work also. So I switched back to Google Authy. |
