61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: ⭐️⭐️⭐️[ANN] MinerGate - smart-mining multipool for most profitable crypto ⭐️⭐️⭐️ on: December 12, 2017, 02:56:20 PM
I like Minergate - yes its targeting newbies, but whats wrong with that? Someone has to give newbs support and considering I'm new to mining, and just want to mine on a small scale why would I bother with miner programs that slow my pc to a crawl or trigger AV so I can't even download it.
These might be easily solved problems for 'experienced' miners - but for new people they are headaches.

It doesn't matter how straight forward Minergate makes it program though as everyone interprets the results differently. Jumping into the chat area for 5 minutes is frustrating as a lot of people tend to fire off really really really menial questions without trying to solve the problem themselves. Experienced miners hating on Minergate... grab an energy drink and spend 5 minutes in those chats. When you see the level of knowledge they have to contend with on a daily basis, you have to give them props for the service they are providing. It might seem overly basic to a herioc class miner, but damn, its like running around the level 1-5 zones all over again with 5 year olds.

Also I tried other pools, but I went back to Minergate - for me they had a better return and overall the platform is simplistic but covers nearly everything you need. They should include the confirmation minimum amounts on the Dashboard screen as those questions are always asked (like always...)

Thanks Minergate - keep on moving forward, yes you may have some haters, but you also have a lot of supporters who do appreciate your stuffs Smiley

Yep everyone is going to have differing opinions on their ideal money-making altcoins...

So i'll chuck in my two cents - ETN, Waves, XRP.

And its better to have a budget and a plan than no budget and no plan and be that person who wasted everything on a shamcoin Smiley Good luck!
63  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New To Crypto on: December 11, 2017, 05:08:27 AM
Welcome to the forum. I’ve got to say there’s a hell of a lot to be learned! One tip to a newcomer, be very careful with your bitcoin And Who you decide to buy sell and trade with. While this forum Is filled with tons of helpful and great people, there are just as many scammers. Deals can be done safely in the crypto currency world but you have to be careful. Good luck and welcome!

Welcome and good luck - and I totally agree with this post above! Before you decide to spend any bitcoin always do a quick check that you will get what you're paying for or that what you're getting is worth having (regarding airdrops and ICO's etc and investing on exchanges).
And make sure you secure your crypto as much as you can and never reveal your private keys of accounts that have bulk crypto in em.
There's a lot to think about so as much fun as it all is - always be wary that at any time someone is trying their best to relieve you of your crypto Sad
On a more positive note - have fun!
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] Endtimes - The World's First Radio Frequency Powered Network on: December 11, 2017, 12:06:41 AM
This is actually kinda brilliant. And it will appeal to anyone worried about what happens if the grid goes down... Mind you in the advent of such an #Endtimes situation... are you really gonna be too worried about your crypto??

That aside - offline storage options are a winner so I'll be keeping an eye on this. Your website did not clearly state token buying options at first glance, so I wasn't sure if I was able to buy at this stage with a small amount (under 1 ETH etc). As there's still time to get on the 100% bonus it would be nice to know if there is a no minimum buying option.

Cheers

First time completing an airdrop via a telegram bot - so props to the SBTC team for putting a bit of originality into the airdrop process!!
66  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Qoinpro.com has just stolen ~0.033 btc from me.... on: December 07, 2017, 12:25:08 AM
These guys send out "legit-looking" phishing emails regarding every fork in the hopes to catch unsuspecting/vulnerable people to transfer their hardearned bitcoin to them... Hopefully prospective cryptopeeps reads/researches more on these guys and sees all the scam warnings about them before gifting them easy BTC.
67  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: *** REBELLIOUS SCAM ALERT** on: December 07, 2017, 12:15:33 AM
I havent downloaded their wallet because I wasn't phased about the 10% POS every 30 days - maybe after the FREE airdrop process I'll look into it.

But I was under the impression if you are required to disclose a private key to join then just create a new MEW address - and only hold ETH in it for trx fees. I don't think its a scam just because its asking for a private key wallet set-up but I get why people would be dubious. But at the end of the day the project still has a lot going on in regards to its developers and creators. And its FREE so...

Its always good to be wary - but unless you have committed money to something and had it taken from you - then how can you call it a scam. They are giving away the REBL right now so I feel like you're jumping the gun on it being a scam to be honest.
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [AIRDROP] [ELE] Electroneum Cash - Electroneum Participants and Everyone on: December 06, 2017, 04:51:49 AM
Hi there,

I bought ETN, but never got to the account before it was closed on the website to get the public address so had to get one of the paper wallets a few days ago.

How are you going to prove everyone completing the airdrops has invested what they say they invested? Most of us would be quite truthful on this - but there are always people who want something for nothing.

Also - yes ETN has really screwed its non-miner investors but maybe its all a ploy to ensure the price is built back up to stop initial dumping. Either way - ETN dev team should put a HODL reward out for everyone who hasn't been able to access their investor ETN balances after this debacle. But they probs won't.

Happy to join the bounty program - but I'm not sure I have anything funny to bring to the table for the bonus. Trying to not put up a spam post here... but basically Merry Xmas!
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: ⚡️❄️[ANN][AIRDROP][BOUNTIES] 🚀 TRIDENT GROUP 🚀 - MAIN THREAD ❄️⚡️ on: December 05, 2017, 05:15:54 AM
I'm looking forward to christmas so much this year!! So many new and interested projects Smiley

Anyway - hopefully I'm not too late to the party. I like your model Proof-of-Care - its nice to see some innovative use of these terms instead of the standard POW/POS.
71  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 1st Post: Scam help on: December 05, 2017, 03:07:45 AM
I'm no help with finding the person via blockchain and I'm not familiar with gumtree either - but is there anyway you get more info from gumtree on his contacts or stalk his username across other social media channels? Chances are he's probs running his scam in other places as well.

But honestly - you could spend a fair amount of time trying to track him down and still not get anywhere - I'd be reporting his a** for sure and making a few scam accusation posts def to warn others - but beyond that - I wouldn't give him the satisfaction of  dedicating more of your valuable assets ie time.
I'd take this as one of those life lessons Sad and yeh - sorry for your lost ltc Sad
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AIRDROP][BTR] BITCOIN RHODIUM - Limited - Rare - Resistant on: December 04, 2017, 01:13:12 PM
Following along on twitter.

I see you have some platform icons on your website (Android, IOS & Win). Are you planning on having wallet apps available or will you have a platform for people to signup to and "register" wallets? No doubt lots of people are wondering about how you will be making this coin available - and registering wallets comes at a bit of a risk. Or will it simply require whitelisting addresses?

I'm interested - I like Rhodium (metal) so right now interested more for the namesake but looking forward to more info when its available.
Thanks
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Electroneum Mining Calculator on: December 04, 2017, 12:54:15 PM
I tend to ignore them - i've just had a look at my numbers for the past week and it looks like I get around 50-60% of what the calculators estimate I'd get. Each pool calc is most likely based off their "time to next block solved" data - but this can be misleading if the pool drops a lot of hashing power suddenly.

ETN isn't buggy or laggy though. Watching the numbers here http://www.etnheartbeat.com you can see the hashing power move around during the day between a few main pools. Blocks getting solved continually. So its def the calc thats got issues - but at best its just a "best-case all going well" indicator.
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Steemit.com: Blogging is the new Mining on: December 02, 2017, 02:28:25 AM
can you add value even as a complete n00b? i mean new to crypto, not just STEEM

just finding it hard to believe anyone would care what I have to say given the small knowledge base.  must be incredibly difficult to built up a base from scratch

Funnily enough - I thought the same thing cos I'm still very much a noob (less than 6 months into crypto). But compared to crypto veterans - newer noobs like us still have fresher perspectives so we can offer help to others based on the fact we probably on just figured out how to do that lol. I haven't utilized steem much - but see a lot of others making good use of the platform. I'd like to spend more time on there - but theres only so many hours I can spend in front of my pc lol.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Pool for Electroneum? on: December 02, 2017, 01:56:02 AM
I dont have a great hash rate (wish i could say k/s but no Sad)  anyway i found i was getting socket errors etc, ip banned - just rando unreliabilty if i tried to stay faithful to one pool. So now I use the below site and follow the M/H rates in 3-4 pools.  The site shows all the pools and there hashrates and also last found block along with heaps of other info.

http://www.etnheartbeat.com/

I'm yet to get anywhere with smaller pools myself.

76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining litecoin with usb miners on: December 02, 2017, 12:44:12 AM
Honestly - if you don't have money to upgrade to a mid-range cpu/gpu set-up - i wouldn't consider try using a gridseed or usb miner as an alternative.

You will actually get more from coinpot's faucets per day (one claim per day for each of their 5 coins is all u need to do), than from trying to mine on equipment with such low hashing output compared with current tech outputs. The litecoin faucet itself would return more than ur gridseed/usb miner can return. And trying to keep your miner connected to a pool that will mostly want to ignore your small hashpower will be another thing you'll have to deal with.

The other issue will be the cashout period. Because litecoin dificulty is so high - you only get rewarded a when the block is solved by a pool and this takes days depending on the pool you mine with, and because your hashing power is low you won't get a huge reward so it will take many more days to receive enough litecoin to get above the minimum withdrawal level...

If you just want to mine solely for the lolz etc yes you can - but its going to take awhile to generate any return.

If you want to get in on some mining action - invesitgate your options for ETN mining if you havent already Smiley

77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [BRO] [WEBRADIO] 😍 BITRAD.IO 😍 - ICO LIVE - Stream diffrent - Webradio on: December 01, 2017, 05:03:15 AM
Has this project a working product? I see that there should be a platform with radio stream or is added to the wallet? Or there is nothing at all only wallet? Please explain.

Bitrad.io is a fully functioning platform with worldwide radio streams, desktop wallet and masternode POS. Its been around for awhile and you earn BRO coins daily for streaming radio. The coins have dropped in value as people cry about no news from the developer but the project is a lot more advanced and a lot of the sham ICO/Airdrop projects that have huge support, crappy looking websites and no clear defined scope. The support team on telegram is always available to field questions if you have anything you'd like to discuss with them.

I've been using the wallet and radio streams for over a month or so and while there is occasionally minor issues with this or that - most fix themselves with a browser/wallet restart. Masternodes - well I don't have one so no idea on those.

79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Ethereum uses gas on: December 01, 2017, 03:06:28 AM

ETH is the ticker symbol for Ether, Ethereum's currency for compute processing. Ether has been nicknamed "gas" because in science ether is a gas.

ETH and gas are the same thing.

I love this answer! It never actually crossed my mind as I was always happy to roll with the Gas is Fuel analogy that gets "pumped" around to get your trx from a to b (sorry - I suck at puns).

Your rank doesn't allow picture posting just yet sorry. I would suggest reading some of the forum help files to get an idea of what you can do here and when.
