Dads, uncles, gpas, father figures. all of the men we are grateful for you and all you do
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Binance Is Becoming Too Powerful (and really scary). on: June 12, 2019, 11:07:59 PM
I don't think it's becoming 'scary' but rather making all the right moves towards the leading example of how an exchange should be. They have a great team of people behind them and it's no surprise that BNB is growing everyday.
63  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Cryptocurrency and regulation, do we need it? on: June 11, 2019, 06:41:24 PM
We need it to a degree. I think having cyber security forums like ciphertrace that help with AML are much more of a priority than say full regulation of the governments.
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Meet Facebook’s Crypto Project Team! on: June 07, 2019, 08:29:27 AM
any strong team behind an altcoin is bound to be successful especially if they have the right advisors, investors and intentions. Will facebook have the later? we will have to wait and see
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto thefts, fraud hit $1.2 billion in Q1 report on: June 07, 2019, 08:16:40 AM
A whooping $1.2B this is indeed massive and portrays the image of cryptos in a bad light despite all regulations, KYCs, AMLs etc I wonder how those stealings aka hacking was successfully carried out without any trace and arrest. I think its high time this problem is nip in the bud else cryptos investors, adopters, hodlers and traders will lose confidence in it. More so cryptos stakeholders should devise  a better way or method of securing cryptos permanently to avoid all these embarrassing stories of hackings and theft.

I think that is my biggest fear is that this issue is going to excede beyond the random hacks. I really do not want to see people losing hope in a technology that has been so good to the world. We are all in this together, learning together losing together and ultimately building together. If we have the proper security teams working on this then both front and back end to protect the overarching community then I think we are on the right track .
66  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Adulthood is a scam, wish I could stay young forever on: June 06, 2019, 08:43:08 PM
Haha indeed it is. Especially here in the United States I feel like we are forced to mature and be an adult as quickly as possible. But age is also just a mental state so I would like to say stay young forever
67  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyway to block usage of stolen coins? on: June 06, 2019, 08:38:48 PM
I would imagine the person would be able to find a way to offload the coins. There are cyber security firms like ciphertrace that can track these types of situations but blacklisting them seems kind of centralized no? Idk
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Investors need to face reality on: June 04, 2019, 11:17:10 PM
My opinion is honestly once Facebook starts to roll out their coin people are going to 1. be investing and 2. be interested in trading
69  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin-AML: Who's who with whom? on: June 04, 2019, 11:14:19 PM
Ciphertrace is one I know of that has a lot of partnerships with exchanges. I know they work with authorities and courts when tracking specific wallets in hopes of catching the individual
70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stronger AML Enforcement Might Actually Save Crypto on: June 03, 2019, 10:36:18 PM
AML really just watches major movements of money that look super suspicious. My thoughts are this is actually super positive for the overall ecosystem in terms of volatility and distribution
71  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain domains cannot be removed or deleted! on: May 28, 2019, 08:02:20 AM
I am also quite interested to see how they plan to handle websites that are going to have content that might be considered 'illegal' in countries. The one wallet aspect is pretty clutch though
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who Would Really Buy Facebook Coin? on: May 23, 2019, 03:57:36 AM
Deep down I really want to resist but I have a feeling that I will miss the boat if I choose against it... I will be watching it closely but I might invest a small amount
73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Authorities Shut Down First Bitcoin Transaction Mixer on: May 23, 2019, 03:42:05 AM
that is super crazy but honestly it was bound to happen sometime especially if they have companies like ciphertrace who help scout out bad actors on public blockchains
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Godfather of Cryto David Chaum Shares Early Access to Elixxir on iOS & Android on: May 14, 2019, 08:19:58 PM
would really like to see a successful privacy protected mobile app. I don't really like the UX of signal and the centralization of WeChat.
75  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How to Solve the Spate of Cryptocurrency Thefts on: May 14, 2019, 08:15:05 PM
https://blocktv.com/watch/2019-05-14/5cdadbe440cb1-how-to-solve-the-spate-of-cryptocurrency-thefts?utm_content=91740870&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter&hss_channel=tw-3972254294

This interview couldn't have came at a better time especially with the recent Binance hack. Dave Jevans is the CEO of Ciphertrace which reports on AML for crypto and I feel that his advice is important to learn for all of us.
76  Economy / Economics / Re: Regulation of Cryptocurrency Around the World on: May 13, 2019, 02:25:08 PM
I am interested in seeing how crypto plays out around the world. I am the most skeptical about privacy coins and what that might do to spark the governments interest esp because you can't report finances. I did learn that Beam is looking to implement a opt-in compliance esp for enterprise
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Building the Unstoppable Web on: May 13, 2019, 02:07:04 PM
https://medium.com/@TrustlessState/pov-crypto-episode-47-building-the-unstoppable-web-with-bradley-kam-ccdc61b1bf78

Unstoppable domains is a pretty exciting project imo. I also learned about the platform Zilliqa's IPFS and website hosting platform in which they are using to build out blockchain domain names. I never really thought of this as a thing before but one address to link all your addresses seems super relevant and easy to change the 24+ character string into something more recognizable like cryptocat.zil

78  Other / Off-topic / Re: Happy Mother’s Day on: May 13, 2019, 01:49:33 PM
I think it's important that we can find mother figures in a lot of individuals that are close to us. Doesn't necessarily have to be our biological mom at all. I found mother figures in friends even neighbors growing up
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Elixxir App will have Wallet Functionality on: May 13, 2019, 01:43:33 PM
If you've been following the Elixxir project led by David Chaum you've seen that they are building a privacy focused payments platforms with a built in messaging dapp. They just announced today along with their prelixxir test a wallet feature! I really like this addition and news esp in regards to privacy first solutions

80  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / 5 Biggest Crypto Exchange Heists in History on: May 13, 2019, 01:25:54 PM
https://bitcoinist.com/top-5-biggest-crypto-exchange-heists-in-history/

I found this article interesting discussing how the recent Binance hack is 6th worst hack among 5 others that have happened in the history of BTC and crypto. According to Ciphertrace 2018 was the works year of exchange hacks comparatively to all other years maybe because of the bear market?

Were any of you affected? I can tell the general sentiment about exchanges... do you think matters are getting better or worse for crypto?
