61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptographic methodologies and tech used on BYTOM on: May 23, 2019, 04:03:01 AM
I am not too familiar with bytom and would really like to see more material from this project. Use cases might be helpful
62  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain domains cannot be removed or deleted! on: May 23, 2019, 03:51:53 AM

The main idea of this project is very attractive...imagine just using a simple domain instead of that complex wallet address with long stretch of letters and numbers. Here your domain is your wallet address so you can buy a domain name with your very name on it and whenever someone is asking for your wallet address just share the domain you registered in this site. Well, very useful indeed. Now, I wonder why the use of .zil then I read that it is because this is launched in the Zilliqa blockchain and a grantee of the Zilliqa Foundation to work with the extension. I am then wondering: Will it mean that my domain name is the same wallet address I can use for all cryptocurrencies and tokens...meaning the same for Bitcoin, Eth, and the rest of the gang?

I definitely think you're able to use crypto like BTC, ETH and LTC according to their website. I am not sure if the .zil will always be the same or if that will change over time as well.
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Authorities Shut Down First Bitcoin Transaction Mixer on: May 23, 2019, 03:36:09 AM
Apparently this is the first time law enforcement has taken an action against crypto mixers.
It's funny because I am familiar with Bestmixer was just looking at it last week actually lol

64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Rising, Scams Rising on: May 17, 2019, 02:09:56 AM
Did you ever see the ciphertrace quarterly report? Crazy times but at least we are getting better at finding these issues before they happen https://ciphertrace.com/articles/q1-2019-cryptocurrency-anti-money-laundering-report/
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Uncensorable Internet through Blockchain Domains on: May 17, 2019, 02:02:39 AM
By owning your own blockchain domain name you can create a uncensorable website. Who knew?

66  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WeChat and Crypto on: May 17, 2019, 01:33:25 AM
I think it's really unfortunate a centralized company decided to write crypto off entirely. I can't wait until we have a decentralized app like wechat. i know Elixxir is one project in particular trying to do that
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is encrypted messaging important? Value your privacy! on: May 13, 2019, 02:34:59 PM
Elixxir is another project that obscures metadata using cMix protocol which was created by David Chaum. They've been making strides in their project but not on mainnet yet
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elixxir App will have Wallet Functionality on: May 13, 2019, 01:50:43 PM
I will have to give it a go! Thanks for sharing. this project looks promising because of the excitement around it and how the community feels about David Chaum
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Prelixxir App Download on: May 13, 2019, 01:38:52 PM
I think their plan and timing was around blockchain week in NY. I am excited to give the elixxir app a try to see how it's functionality will work and provide any feedback. I wonder if there will be a roadmap anytime soon?
70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 5 Biggest Crypto Exchange Heists in History on: May 13, 2019, 01:34:22 PM
Luckily I was never affected by these exchange hacks but I do know people who were. I think the way Binance handled their recent attack was very responsible in comparison  to the others on the list. imo I feel that Binance is a great example for the rest of exchanges because of their third party compliance partners like ciphertrace and CZ talking about the importance of keeping your crypto off hot wallets
71  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the point of these hacks? on: May 09, 2019, 10:13:20 PM
I think that Binance has done well with security and compliance. They have hired cyber security firms for both KYC and AML compliance. Even one of the companies they work with Ciphertrace mentioned that the reason for the hack had to do with 2FA authentication. I think we need to think a little more on how we can make that aspect better and less resistant to hacks
72  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do We Really Want a More Decentralized Version of Facebook? on: May 09, 2019, 10:01:04 PM
We definitely do want a more decentralized internet and social platforms. The fact that our personal data has become an asset to many is really backwards. I also think that the more centralized something becomes the less we have to think for ourselves. Look at China.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 10 Altcoins in 2018 on: May 07, 2019, 06:27:56 PM
I have Bytom and Cosmos on my top 10. Interoperability is looking promising in my book
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Jaguar Land Rovers Lets Its Customers Earn IOTA Coin on: May 07, 2019, 06:22:47 PM
Pretty interesting move imo. I would imagine we will see more of this happen with car companies. Everyone is waiting for that tesla or elon coin
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain Domains on: May 07, 2019, 06:04:33 PM
I really like this idea. It makes sense in helping with mass adoption and say for those who create content online and instead of going through patreon they could easily just put their site and people wouldn't miss a number or letter in the address
76  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto thefts, fraud hit $1.2 billion in Q1 report on: May 07, 2019, 06:01:16 PM
It is really a pity this fraud thing is yet to come to an end. So much has been lost in recent times by investors and traders. Some are even lost through exchanges and others got their wallets hacked. We all really need to be very careful with our private keys and watch out carefully before investing in any project of our choice. Crypto theft will continue but sure we can protect ourselves from becoming a victim

I agree. I think these are the times that we need to innovate and think of how we can prevent these sorts of fraud before they even happen. Yes decentralized is our goal but that doesn't mean we need to continue old bad habits of how fraud plays out that's why cyber security companies that are crypto specific are necessary
77  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why Mark Zuckerberg wants no privacy on: May 05, 2019, 11:11:07 PM
I think his promise of keeping metadata private is just BS. I would trust a cryptographer and privacy advocate over Mark.
78  Economy / Economics / Re: What's Crypto innovation for you? on: May 05, 2019, 11:06:15 PM
I'm pretty excited to learn about the implementation of mixnets and how this will help with privacy specifically metadata. David Chaum who is a long time crypto and privacy OG is the creator and is looking to implement it in his new projest elixxir
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why we have this guy to thank for Mixing and Privacy Coins on: May 05, 2019, 10:43:54 PM
David Chaum seems to have made a massive impact on today's connection between privacy and digital currency. I really want to see the Elixxir project to be successful
Elixx is confirmed supported by XRP which means a big company has been trusting it. David is a good person and you can talk with him directly through use elixxir telegram. I just waiting for the public sale of elixxir and im interesting to become an investor.

I believe Chris Larsen was one of their biggest investors which is saying something pretty promising regarding the Elixxir project
80  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Quadriga CEO death, Is it new scam in crypto on: May 05, 2019, 10:36:17 PM
Did you read the ciphertrace q1 report that was circling the internet last week? It's wild to see what else they caught https://ciphertrace.com/articles/q1-2019-cryptocurrency-anti-money-laundering-report/
