61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [OS] nvOC easy-to-use Linux Nvidia Mining vBASIC || Community Edition 2.0 on: June 23, 2018, 12:28:21 AM

When do you plan to provide a new ISO file ? How much time testing ?

Thank you for all your feedbacks, please test again the miners update procedure, we did some chenges recently, in case of any issue with the testing version please report on github, to avoid confusing people here. As you see lot of things changed, and the testing stage is just at the beginning. The more people test the new beta version, the more we feel confident in declaring it as ready. Please remember to always attach a report anytime you report issues because the report contains version info needed to understand which test version you are running at that time.

A few pages ago, we had discussed updating to a newer version of ubuntu that was to be released last spring. What about these projects?

As I wrote, I think Xubuntu could do the trick and be a little lighter. I know that leenoox also wanted to propose many other systems even more minimalist but I do not know if he finally gave up his idea to lighten the image of nvOC.

You can see my miner report in a recent message above.

I'm trying desperately to connect my vnc to my local minor but nothing to do, ulraVNC told me that the protocol is not supported and other software tell me that the connection is refused!

I stopped teamviwer because he asked me to buy a professional license. Note that their site shows that they determine themselves whether it is a pro or personal use ... So, they only decide whether the user cheats or not. Here's a method to sneak up on it, a little more money when shareholders claim additional turnover (and the dividends that come with it). Not really reasonable all that.

I will try on the new version tomorrow.

I just changed ETHASH_MINER="CLAYMORE"     to ETHASH_MINER="BMINER"

What's the problem ?

It looks OK for Bminer minning EQUIHASH. Even, the first start on ZCL had the same problem than above with ETHASH

No idea, ask in bminer thread.
But something strange, why it shows eth hashrate as sols/s?

We talked and tested NICE_ in GitHub issue 88
Please post problems with nice in GitHub so we can follow and fix (if there are any)

Edit:
Did you set correct bminer protocol for ethereum in 1bash?

You were right for the definition of the BMINER protocol. I defined ethstratum and everything is back in order, including for ETC which has made a nice comeback in the WTM rankings and the markets in recent days.

On the other hand, I did not understand how to make Claymore fight the minning switching between ETH (on MPH) and NICE_ETHASH (On Nicehash). I systematically have this blob3 error. and I think it comes from these prameters prese, born on their support web page

"EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool stratum + tcp: //daggerhashimoto.eu.nicehash.com: 3353 -ewal YOUR_BTC_ADDRESS -epsw x-esm 3 -allpools 1"

To min out ETh on MPH, the -esm option is 2 and not 3.
I note that Bminer does not seem to be affected by this option but that the software is only planting every 3-5 minutes on nice_ethash.

I have not yet understood if I can and / or should use the specificity of BMINER and the pill enlargment. But after a few days of minning, if what is displayed by Bminer is accurate in terms of hashing speed, then it is as fast as claymore and slightly more stable.

EDIT : minerinfo is dead and i don't understand whey or how to relaunch it.

minerinfo seems to be dysfunctional and I can not consult anything locally :-(

64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XMR] monero.crypto-pool.fr | Large Monero Mining Pool on: June 19, 2018, 10:24:26 PM
We used to see each others IRL multiple time per year and I had access to the pool administration.

Ok, so YOU can make some administratopn tyasks and yYOU can Answer all the miners.

I haven't seen him IRL for 2 years and the last message I've got from him is from 28th of February.

In these times of mass media and mass crypto scams on the web I think this information can only maintain doubt on the reliability of the site and the mining pool.
I do not want to destabilize the pool at all, but frankly, I think that the miners are going to leave and it's a shame because for once we had a site in .fr for the mining, the doubt and the suspiscion do not make that grow.

He is indeed a true paranoid and a security expert.

It is better to read this, but it is necessary to relativize the word "preferable" in this case.
You answer in his place and I wonder how we could trust him. You, I've already seen in a video about supernet and Komodo, which does not guarantee more, but listening to your comments in this video that I saw, I have little doubt . And then, I regularly see your comentaires on bitcoin.fr
That he does not want to communicate with his peers Ok, but he must still do a minimum with his users, especially on this foum or he can remain completely anonymous if he is so paranoid. He necessarily has sufficient technical knowledge to protect himself against the tracing since he is expert in security!

He has great technical qualities, I know he spend most of his time watching logs and network state but don't expect him to do support.

No doubt about it, but you know like me that all the best rational and reasonable techniques can not take the place of a single answer to irrational beings such as most humans are.
He did well the site and this post on the forum btctlk, I do not see why, he would not come to post a word from time to time. Even without doing any support.
For example, he could tell us when he will implement an XMV pool and where he is in the payments. Or even just if he changed his mind decided not to redistribute the XMV got

I don't think he will ever scam anyone in crypto. To be clear he is an early adopter and a very successful crypto trader, he is just too suspicious to talk to people.

As I was writing in one of my previous posts, I had doubts as long as I had not been paid. I do not have any more, but I prefer to go elsewhere for now and notament to the profit Switching.

Too stressful to only mine on a single pool and to find a few times that only one block has been found over 24 hours or more.

I think if I mine monero again, I'll go to SupportXMR and it'll be to an Off-Exchange Wallet. probably after the next fork in preparation for the end of the year which is supposed to drastically lower transaction costs from what I read.

Good luck to you and to the faithful miners continue here.

Last information: I use NVOC to mine XMR and / or profit switching. A specially modified Ubuntu capable of mining a bunch of corners of any type, including ASIC-free corners (ASICs that begin to multiply severely for each algo).

I used Google translate to write thios message, so be placable if my English is so bad.

1/ Improve your miner's update script, and propose to launch it a the first boot to force reompiling all of them for each RIG.
2/ Add intensity to 17 by default for all miners (leave a comment beside as you did for overclocking settings)
3) How do you put power under 90 W ?
4/ WTM_SWITCHER is a good impovment that necessitate  more gray matter from the miner to set it ! Ouchhhhh !
5/ Bmine ? ZENEMYminer ?
6/ Is X16R is really profitable ? I doubt a lot...
7/ Adding some Cryptonight and cryptonight V7 added in xmr-stak miner

Thanks for the detailed review

1.
Not a good idea to force  re-compile all miners as it take long time, its best to let users decide.
we made some changes though to just stop the running miner if it needed so there is much less time wasted when updating miners
Miners source are already added and they get downloaded from source code if you go for recompile.

- Perhaps not all miners need to be re-compiled, but i can affirm you that when i launch you miner script update thaht i used from your Wiki page, i was having 3 miners of 4 don't started anything.
- I opened your script and i saw thaht you donwload some miners from YOUR github. YOUR repository don't contain all sources files, only 2 files. I manually download miners thaht cause me loops in 3main. I have no reasons to tell you a different reality that i had when i follow your Wiki page on github.

2.
There is already a comment for intensity in 1bash, Will make a change for the error so it uses default values.
# Test intensity on your rig and edit it or miner will set default values

- Ok, i had'nt saw this comment line. But i can affirm you that TPccminer don't apply default value and it don't start at my first boot. perhaps because it needs to be re-compiled ! All started correctly after re-compliling some miners. It was effectively very long time to re-compile all. I also updated xmr-stak with their last github code.

3.
I already set some cards to 75, no idea why you get into trouble setting that.
Please post the warning messages you get.

Ok, i will post this message when i was having more time.

4.
Dont catch what you asked here

Is it possible to make graphcet diagram to be more understanding for a newbie user ? Your explantation comments helps so much but i think it's not an easy to use profit switcher for a beginner. Perhaps a simple minimalist diagram could helps. That's just i wanted to tell at this point.

5.
Bminer is new miner for ethahs and equihash, z-enemy is best for x16r

Is Bminer better than Claymore and DSTM ? More stable ?  More efficency ? Less fees ?

6.
You know better

I'm not sure what you mean. NO, i don't know anything about this algo. I read a little on discord but it was more than 2 month ...

7.
Fixed ETN and moved to V7

In fact, i was thinking about a profit Switcher on all Cryptonight algo and coins proposed by this miner

Today i tried to use NICE_ETHASH, NICE_NEOSCRYPT and NICE_EQUIHASH in WTM_SWITCHER and it seems thaht NICE_ETHASH is not functionnal.
i saw Error blobxxx with claymore. I don't tried Bminer yet for ETHASH ALGO...No PB with 2 others nicehash algo switch

When do you plan to provide a new ISO file ? How much time testing ?

67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [OS] nvOC easy-to-use Linux Nvidia Mining vBASIC || Community Edition 2.0 on: June 12, 2018, 11:24:41 PM
I'm actually using 19.2.1 beta testing version and i give my returns :90

1/ I think first step before launching is to update miners, all miners. But you can specifically update those you prefer/need to use.
Yourt miner's update script is good and easy to use but it has some errors due to incomplete code in papampi's github repository. I opened your script and donwload manually each miners i need to launch and i saw they had only two files (version and ccminer) for some of them in his repository.

@papampi : Why do you not use repositories of each miner's developpers on github ? Is there some problems to dowload them from nvOC ? Why not git command from their repositories directly to NVoc ??

I think you should force recompile all of the miners softwares for the first step. It's the best way to make some adaptated miners for each hardware configuration.
Your miners update script is good and easy to use, but must be improved. it will be decisive for 19.2.1. It was the first problem i had with the testing version.

2/ You should define default intensity to 17, maximal intensity for Neoscrypt in using Klaust ccminer (KTccminer)
I mine MONA and i saw immediatly the -i option empty made an invalid command to launch TPccminer for Lyra2REV2. I changed for NAccminer. But i had same problem. So i had to re-read you 1bash and 3main, and 0miner files to understand your unifications and modifications you made. I had some headacke after two month not reading code. But i succeded to undertsand after several re-readings ah ah  Cool

3/ I don't understand how you put power under 90w. Nvidia commands refuses to apply them under 90W for my 1060 and 1070. I think for the first launch, you should enter 90w for all power parameters in 1 bash, even ALGO SPECIFIC. Or, if you use a spécific command to launch theses less power instructions, it must be executed BEFORE, and we should not see theses warnings messages.

4/ Your WTM switcher is more complicated to set. I saw you launch it in a screen command to prevent your minning time errors that was problematic before. Good job ! Too bad that at the moment it is not too useful because of the bear market. I think i had to tame how to use it and set it correctly.

5/ I saw 2 new miners that i don't know if they have some best perrfomances :
a) Bminer ? Which ALGO this miner is better to use ?
b) ZENEMY ? Same Questions ?
I noticed we can now using xmr-stak almost like all others miner's softwares.

6/ I 've not mined X16R ALGO yet, but if i look at WTM website, i'm not sure i will mine it. Furthermore, i'm suspicious about cryptobridge DEX "decentralazed exchange" that look me centralized on their website and servers and with a bitch of shitcoins. I use BarterDEX for now since 3 month, it's Ok, not perfect but i succeded 5 or 6 atomics swaps with HUSH/KMD...So, i think i will not use cryptopia stealers again. Furthermore, they recently published a better interface than barterDEX, called hyperDEX (not tested yet).

7/ I think, we could add all the coins permitted to mine with xmr-stak. I mined 2 XMR with 5x1060 + 5x1070 in less than two month on a small pool with less than 3 MH/s at the beginningg (april 14) and less than 2Mh/s after 15 days. Perhaps i will make some addintions propositions about that in nest weeks.

Resume :

I recieved my 2XMR on Kraken with no problem, but because of admin communication desaster, i prefer stop minning on this pool.

I'll be back time to time to recover my 6.8 XMV promised before hark fork.

I think if admin don't make effort to communicate minimum with his miner's community, it will loose his miners step by step.

Good luck for all of them that are continuing to mine here.

Is this pool is dead or did we mine for admin of this pool only  ?

It's not clear, because noone answer for all questions above !

yes still waiting for their official statement about this, lets wait and hear what is the real problem for this pool

I think admin is like a parano man. I don't know why, but he prefer that someone like superrésistant tell us some évasives answers. We don't konow if superrésistant exchange with him recently ...

On pool block page we can see that some payments are made everyday but because of the monero protocol, we can't trace, we can not be sure.

I just hope that i don't mined two month for nothing. i've not  mined 2 XMR yet but i'm in approach. so I cross my fingers but I'm very worried about this so weak communication with miners.

The admin told us about 1 month ago that he was going to develop an XMV pool and a way to pay us following the fork. I do not see anything coming and I think frankly it's very long . It's not a problem because this coin is not really important for now, but hey, I think it is curious to promise and not to say anything or announce then.

@Superrésistant

Why this admin pool is so mute Huh Do you know him physically or just in this forum ?

What's happenning with the pool ?

Block Found: about 23 hours ago Huh

Same result as last 19 may !

Why admins don't comunicate minimum Huh

even if he hates to communicate, sharing, exchanging, we are still more than 600 to share our computing power. He could make an effort!

Is he autistic or what?

Hello guys.

First of all, thank you all who contribute to this great project.

After some time mining ZEC I decided to try mining something different. I wanted to mine XMR.
When I tried to mine with older version of nvOC, miner never succeeded and I kept getting Result refused by pool (or something like that).

I thought it might be the best to update nvOC to latest stable. After update, ZEC mines still fine, but XMR is not mined at all.
This time CLAYMORE is being terminated repeatedly and after few minutes whole rig is terminated. Could someone give me a hint what to do?

thanks!

better software to mine XMR in nvOC is XMRstack.
If you decide to update to 19.2.1 like papampi post above an before, you will be able to use this lastest version software. i think you'll be more satisfact, but i've not tested. So you'lle be a vérifcator of good function to mine XMR. Are you ready ?

What are your errors messages ?

I can read this on Dwarfpool page :

Quote
"Monero network forked and created other chain from block 1580196. All blocks in this chain were orphaned."

Can you confirm or they are wrong ?

If they are right, we are mining for nothing.

Decide quickly and inform us !

You will can not say that you don't have been alerted and you 'll must pay.
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: nvOC 19-2.1 beta testing on: May 27, 2018, 12:10:13 AM

Test/Run nvOC 19-2.1 beta in existence with current 19-2.0 stable.

Ohhh, when I have reached the minimum 2 XMRs of my pool to retire, I will return to profit switching mode. I am 1.5 XMR currently, and I prefer to put all the power of mine that I have in order to reach as quickly as possible the minimum required to withdraw.
Then I will test my 10-card Rig (5x1060 + 5x1070) on the new nvOC 19.2.1. I watched quickly the code changes recently. I have seen optimizations, additions of new coins (RVN) and software miners, among other things ...

I have no doubt that you have collected the code improvements of each of the most open and creative participants in this community of enthusiasts.

Finally, I hope that all this will be very useful to you in these difficult times for your country.

What about this pool?

For about two weeks, the finds of blocks are strangely weak.
This day the 14/05/2018 not a single blocks found Huh? While the difficulty is low on the network monero.

Still, the page says block found every 5 hours Huh
Where is the problem ?

And why no one answers on this forum?

Is this due to the preparation of the pool for XMV?

Give us news please. Even a very short message will not take you too much time!

SuperResistant, are you still there?
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XMR] monero.crypto-pool.fr | Large Monero Mining Pool on: May 06, 2018, 12:19:42 PM
Thanks for adding MoneroV. How do we claim that? Do we need to make account in the newly created MoneroV pool?

Same recognition, same questions.

thanks for the XMV, but how do I get them? For my part, I use a Kraken address and therefore I do not have access to the private key.

Should I now ask for the private key of my XMR address at Kraken and then import it into an XMV wallet?

The ideal would be to be able to request the sending of XMV directly to another XMV address freshly generated in the new wallet that will be available soon.

Bad news about Equihash  :

Bitmain launch Equihash ASIC this day. 10 KSol/s consumming only 300W !

What do you think about this ASIC ?

https://shop.bitmain.com/product/detail?pid=00020180503154806494uGcSyiu806FD

I said that I do not come to promote them, I did not buy ASIC but it is quite clear that this case will pose a huge problem. Much worse than that of the ETH miner of the same company.

Only the Monéro community reacted in opposition to the bitmain ASICS. I simply wish to have your opinion on this issue which may make GPU mining obsolete on this algorithm rather quickly.

At this rate, only Neoscrypt and Cryptonight V7 will remain to be mined via CPU and GPU. Not a good deal for decentralization as a cryptocurrency target.

One rig 22mhX6 for 132MH drawing 680w VS 10Kh @300W is going to be a threat?   Where?
Oh and each unit does cost 2K and you can only have one for now. Hmmmmm.
thay

Its equihash not ethash ...
For Ethash there is the Antiminer E3. Price and power consumption is not radically better than a GPU rig with an equivalent hash rate

Absolutely. The comparison with their E3 for ethash does not hold. Electrical consumption for EThash is close to consumption of the GPU Rigs for a price roughly equivalent. In fact the E3 only saves space, so increase the density of mining per square meter.

But with the Z9, it is possible to win on almost every table (yes, we have no information about the noise of this new ASIC). You gain in surface density, in electrical consumption (10,000 / 300 = 33.3Sol / Watt while the GPUs are at 5 Sol / W maximum) and temporal (hash per second).

Yes, a threat to the profitability of every coins that uses the Equihash algo.
The coins are massively produced for cheap which will reduce the profitability of RIGs graphics cards that consume much more and produce much less (as you indicate). The difficulty will also increase very strongly in a very short time.

Yes, it costs $ 2,000 for now but how many KSol can you produce with a rig at this price? Certainly much less.

So I'm not convinced by your answer a little too evasive.
