61  Economy / Economics / Re: Court win for worker fired for not keeping webcam on on: October 14, 2022, 10:24:27 AM
This kind of thing is a good reason why I hate being a wageslave. The copro thought that once they're employing you, paying you then you're their slave, give in and subject to every kind of privacy-invasive software out there. Union is non-existent about protect your rights from privacy-invasive software and method. It was like they expect you to see it as a normal thing "Hey, let me peep into your house just to check if you're at work?" Yeah, fuck off.

This doesn't affect me personally, as I don't work from home, nor is that my country but I can't see how all that surveillance is necessary.  Can't employers use other yardsticks for productivity instead of actually wanting to watch their employees work via a webcam?  At the end of the day, the employer should be able to tell who's goofing off at home (assuming those workers have quotas to reach or something similar to measure how much work they've put in).

Cameras are everywhere, and I mean everywhere.  Give work-from-home employees a freakin' break.
True, corpo just need to say what is the work quota for a day. As long as the employees meet their quota or KPI, who gives the fuck what they've done for the rest of the day? Poor work culture, lack of definition of the bonus, or maybe just poor wages. Those make the employees just do enough and not push themselves which in turn, corpo to want to have privacy-invasive software and method to monitor their employees. The shit is bleak.
62  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: October 14, 2022, 10:12:38 AM

this is not about professionals but the impact of their failure on the UCL stage of course will affect their mental and game in the next match.
El Clasico is always interesting because this is a prestigious match between the two teams but if you look at the last few matches between the two teams, of course Real Madrid will be seeded in this weekend's El Clasico.

Barcelona's game continues to experience a decline in performance and for La LIga matches in the last few matches they have benefited from facing a team that has less quality than them but the next match is against Real Madrid, I think they will be very difficult.
for the choice of betting in this El Clasico I think choosing Real Madrid to win has a greater percentage of being able to win.
Agree, Barcelona going to take huge pressure and a bad mood among players in the next El Clasico with Real Madrid. Cause they almost lost to Inter if not thanks to the last score in the overtime to even it to 3:3 for both sides. Not to mention, the number of injuries as well cause the El Clasico match is in due just 3 days. I saw great odds for Real Madrid to win against Barcelona here so place your bet carefully, everyone.
63  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Exchange with time limit from orders on: October 14, 2022, 09:45:31 AM
Order time out after a set of times? Haven't seen anything like that yet on most exchanges I've used (Binance, Kucoin, MEXC, HitBTC, Bittrex,...). I think you can still do it with the exchange's API or ask some dev to implement that in their bot/auto-trade or anything similar to that. Maybe it wasn't needed for the majority of traders so exchanges didn't have it but now you saying it, I think there may be some cases for it.

Barcelona president has stated that in the coming transfer window they will be aiming to recruit more free players to the team  to strengthen the squad and spend less. The possibility of Tielemans going to Arsenal seems unlikely now after the gunners opted out of the deal in August. I don't think Barcelona will be open to signing these players because because of the amount to be spent on them. Tielemans will even prefer a move to an English club than moving to spain.

I have little idea how Barcelona will pay the players they already have in their squad, given the fact that Barcelona is almost guaranteed to leave the Champions League after the group stage. As for the new "free" players, this is naivete - firstly, cool players want a signing bonus, so they are not free at all, and secondly, who wants to go to Barcelona where salaries are always being cut and the club is in crisis in general?
Yeah, I remember how the De Jong fiasco back a few months ago. Tho, Barcelona has got good results for La Liga and the Champions League so far, their reputation on the transfer market took a sharp hit as known for being stingy on players' wages and bonuses. One of the few reasons I saw Xavi struggle to find new players to add to their squad. They got lucky and were able to sign Lewandowski for a cheap price.
65  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 11, 2022, 10:22:35 AM
Vitality really disappointed me by losing to Heroic in the 5th place decider already. I don't know what went wrong with them in this very important tournament. They should have been one of the teams in Legends Stage normally. They were the best team in terms of performance recently but somehow they performed poorer than expected in RMR. I don't doubt them to get past Challengers Stage without problems but they had better make some improvement in their effort again. This level wouldn't be enough to be serious for the Major title.

Cloud9 were another team that surprised me. I was expecting them to move Spirit out of their way and reach Legends Stage. But Spirit showed a really great performance. They both defeated their opponent by big gaps first. On Ancient, I was seeing Cloud9 a little more advantageous as they didn't lose any game there before. But Spirit still managed to win by 16-13 and have become one of the members in Legends Stage. magixx played big on this map by 29 frags and he had the biggest role in the win.
A lot of new teams must have analyzed the top-tier teams' demos from Vitality and Cloud9 to know some exploits that they can use. Especially both Vitality and Cloud9 have made it to the Final of the ESL Pro League and IEM Rio qualifying matches that happened less than a week after. Most of your core strats will be under the palm of the enemy.

That still depends on which team will pick up hooxi and if G2 will continue with their roster until the next major but for now we'll just wait and see what happens. On the bright side it's nice to see new teams like Gamerlegion and Sprout qualify all the way.
Yeah, I know. Just talking nonsense since my frustration with G2 is very high right now. Their problems weren't about igl but how niko think he can challenge the igl's call since he is the hottest shit, top at HLTV ranking for players
This is a common plague on CSGO but most top-tier teams have decent mechanisms to work out, who has the right to call. Yes, we know, niko. You're good players, with good aim, and good rating, can 1vs1 almost everyone in the top HLTV ranking for players. But this doesn't mean you start questioning about igl's call every time the game doesn't go your way. It becomes a bad habit and replacing a new igl to be your beck and call won't change anything.

There is some unconfirmed rumor about Real Madrid wants to have Erling Haaland from Man City as the replacement for Karim Benzema in 2024. Seems unlikely for now since I doubt Man City would part away with Haaland based on how much he has done and the money will be a huge issue cause Haaland is highly sought after his performance in the Premier League.
But then again still carries some merit as they planning this in 2024 season, a replacement for Karim Benzema at that time is understandable.
67  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save as food inflation jumps more than 11% in a year on: October 11, 2022, 09:46:10 AM
Food inflation jumps mean less purchase power on soft drinks, beverages, snacks, or anything like that. People will cut down on unnecessary meals to favor the main meal, 3 per day instead some snacks between them. Same with the foods that are typically used in fine dining restaurants and such will take a drop in the consumption rate. Mainly because people will cheap out and go to restaurants less and less since they can't afford it, coupled with the inflation, and high energy cost,...
More will cook and eat at home to save their money. The service industry will take the hit, business will get slower.
68  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: October 11, 2022, 09:22:10 AM
Honestly, I don't expect Barcelona to win the El Clasico. Above all else, I think that Barcelona's first target will be to win against Inter in the Champions League. Because after that unexpected loss against Inter last, they are three points behind them in the group. If they lose points again they might really find themselves in the Europa League two times in a row. This would be really a mockery for most people.  Grin

I feel like Real Madrid won't lose in Santiago Bernabeu to them no matter what kind of a result Barcelona get against Inter. I expect Barcelona players to be quite fatigued after the Inter game. I don't expect the same from Real Madrid players against Shakhtar because they are already in a safe condition in the lead. I don't think Ancelotti would like to wear out his players too much right before the El Clasico. I'd just prefer to add both teams to score to my parlay and enjoy the El Clasico.  Smiley
Real Madrid odds are slightly better than Barcelona. Their games in Champions League require more effort from Barcelona's players comparing to Real Madrid's one. Yet everything could happen obviously. I find Barcelona better but sometimes the concentration level is a bit lower which leads to disasters like what happened in Inter's match. Now in the next game vs Inter, it will be bad if Barcelona lose again.
After 8 rounds in La Liga, Barcelona received only 1 goal at the opposite of CL where they received 4 in 3 games.
Odds-wise, Real Madrid overall did seem to be stronger than Barcelona. But then again, as I've said before, Xavi was kind of cautious so they did not get many goals over their matches, even with a team that much weaker.
Don't let that fool you into thinking Barcelona's ability to score looked weak. Moreover, Barcelona's defensive lineup is the best in La Liga right now. Will be interesting to see how Real Madrid's Benzema and Mariano Díaz penetrate it. If they can't Barcelona can push it to a draw or score just 1 goal if they got lucky and hold the games to buy time with their defense.
69  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My exorbitant lessons in last bull market on: October 11, 2022, 08:51:42 AM
Number 1, definitely your mistake. You brought in some tokens from shills on YouTube which is a big no-no. Also, anything that is already exposed on social media means the chance you can buy it at a good price is out of the window.

Number 2, this one is tricky. Cause I know a lot of miners made mistakes like you. Despite ETH's PoS planning for this year being way more serious than the last time, some stubborn miners still don't want to believe it. A lot of disinformation, and hype around the cheap price to get PoW rigs even though ETH PoS is in its last breath. You should consider and mark it as an unfortunate event and move on. Maybe don't 100% trust in whatever that friend of yours advises from now on.

Number 3, well not your fault. Back when BTC @$60k, the hype around it was insane. Did you see how many BTC holders still keep on their BTC for the $100k rally and didn't sell their bags? Complete missed their chance to sell it once it was down to $40k then $30k. The Tech bubble got the same fate and many stock investors miss their chance too. You shouldn't dwell on this matter too much.
70  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 11, 2022, 08:21:15 AM
Well the season is still young and with some of the injured players coming back from injuries there is a chance for Liverpool to come back. If they can pick up in the next 2-3 games then there is a chance for them finishing in top four position this season. They have better chance in the champions league also if they can get back to winning games soon. I saw some improvements in the game against Arsenal in the weekend. Their next opponent, Manchester City is the biggest team in the epl at the moment if they can survive this game then Klopp has nothing to worry about.
This is the list of Liverpool players injury https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/liverpools-injury-list-suspensions-and-availability the most recent ones are Trent and Diaz not a favourable thing for Liverpool especially if Trent is not able to play against City later
That should be Klopp's main focus now, bringing his squad to the top 4 and also focusing on the UCL, it's impossible for them to be title contenders this season, and in my opinion only 3 teams are currently really competing for that Arsenal, City and Spurs.
I have to disagree with you there. You forgot about Manchester United which always got the upper hand against Liverpool in most of the recent matches. And this was when Manchester United was a bit shitty, without the guidance of ten Hag yet but they still won over Liverpool. Top for more like around Arsenal, Man City, Man United, and Tottenham. Forget about Liverpool as I think even Chealse had a better chance to break into the top 4 of those teams than Liverpool.
71  Economy / Economics / Re: Can commodities return to its price last year? on: October 10, 2022, 10:45:01 AM
We haven't back to the pre-covid economy yet for a lot of countries. So I doubt commodities can return to its price last year. Worse, commodities themselves align with fuel and electricity cost, and thanks to the energy crisis right now, both are skyrocketing in the whole world. Nope, we won't see its price back to the before anytime soon. Every kind of data and benchmark looks grim. Tourism also hasn't back to pre-covid yet. China is still under limited lockdown and they have a population number of 1,4 billion.

Anytime tourism and China back to the pre-covid number, huge demand for commodities will make the price rise as well.

Chart of the final 24 teams qualified for IEM RIO Major 2022. 8 teams in the Legends will move ahead to the Champion stage with 8 more teams to be selected from the Challengers Stage ( 8 Challengers and 8 Contenders). Funny how ex-G2 igl both have a spot over this Major while G2 missed this event. Aleksib with NIP team and nexa with OG team. And G2 still thinks igl was the problem. Want to bet that hooxi will eventually go to Major under a new team if G2 decides to kick him?

Without even taking a look at your post history and just looking at your Activity:merit ratio, safe to assume that you just need to significantly ratchet up your post quality. 99% of the time, people who complain about not receiving merits simply just have substandard post quality.
doubt.jpg
I saw users don't receive merits like the others just because they ain't parroting what other bitcointalk users want to hear aka not being a 'yes man'. They actually put their thought into their post compared to users that only post to meet their quota on their sign campaign, parrot on what other people in here want to hear.

Post quality isn't decided by merits alone cause you know how some opinions might not popular hence the lack of merits. This also created an illusion that merits always equals to good-quality posts. Heck, might give you a fresh example (below) to show you about a user with a good amount of merits doesn't mean they've good post quality. aylabadia05 has 313 merits, mind you.

Yesterday I said about 3 important points that must be obtained by both teams. Arsenal to shift Manchester City in 1st position and maintain the opportunity to win the trophy, while Liverpool to return to compete in the top four.
I dare say Arsenal will win against Liverpool by a narrow score.
Liverpool have tried their best to achieve a draw, but because of a penalty incident, Liverpool lost points.
Come on dude, at least put effort into your post. Not WILL. The match is over. Arsenal won 3-2 against Liverpool. And no, Liverpool will not back to the top 4 in the Premier League. Yes, the season hasn't ended yet, the race is still ongoing but they had a lot of problems with their lineup and strategy. See people in here starting to talk about Klopp's chance to stay at Liverpool before the season end?
74  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to Overcome a Bear Market in Cryptocurrency on: October 10, 2022, 09:15:40 AM
From my experience, if you want to survive and keep your capital intact over the bear market, stay away from derivatives trade. Since the market is in bear time come under heavy volatility, the risk from derivatives trade increases to very high. Sure, some traders may still be able to take advantage of it, and increase their initial capital but just once bad trade, bad entry, they're done.  At least, if you're just spot and hodl, you can still wait till the bear market is over.
75  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: October 10, 2022, 08:51:29 AM
There were two completely different halves in the Barcelona - Celta Vigo game. Barcelona dominated the first half and Pedri scored the winner. However in the second half, Celta Vigo somehow were able to do the same against Barcelona as for dominance. They found so many chances to score but wasted all of them. Barcelona players seemed very desperate to be productive in this half interestingly. I wonder what changed this much quickly. They could have lost their lead because of this struggle.

Barcelona dominated the first half but their performance slowed down in the second half. The performance of Celta Vigo's players was exceptional in the second half. Barcelona did not concede a goal and won the match thanks to a great performance by Barcelona's experienced defenders. Another reason for Barcelona's defensive strategy in the second half is that Barcelona has several important matches ahead. And Barcelona must win all the matches. So Xavi might not want any of his attacking players to get injured now. That's why I think Barcelona played a defensive strategy in this match.
Yes, I talked about this in one of my posts earlier. Xavi's not your average coach who only cares about winning one or two matches. He knows quite well how much important the next match against Real Madrid is. Barcelona scored 1 goal at the very early of the first half, 17'. Their victory at 3 points is secured thus they are back to a defensive strategy cause why would anyone risk more goals and lost to Real Madrid? Honestly, Xavi is very cautious and Barcelona has the least amount of goals conceded so far, only 5 in this season, truly shows Xavi's strategy for Barcelona. If you're a gambler, maybe time to pay attention to those patterns to increase your chance to win a bet.

Both Barcelona and Real Madrid will win today, I'm sure of that. What's more important is how much it cost for that win. Since both will meet each other soon, any kind of injury for their main lineup is a big no-no here. This is something Barcelona and Real Madrid need to have in their mind in their match against Celta and Gatafe, respectively.
Xavi seems to know about this and will use some players from the 2nd lineup to keep his whole squad at their best for the match with Real Madrid. Mean they will win but with a very small lead. A handicap bet on Celta, maybe?

77  Economy / Economics / Re: China tells state banks to prepare for a massive dollar dump on: October 09, 2022, 10:47:53 AM
In the long run, this is a good thing. Especially for Bitcoin. China becomes less reliant on the US, the US becomes less reliant on China. We all stop trying to politically control each other and China can keep on quietly torturing, enslaving, killing and organ-harvesting the "unwanted" peoples of their population.
Nope, not good for the long run. If superpowers like China and US were less reliant on each other, the whole world become more fragile. Think about if both have less stake in each other, would they really care if the other goes on full rampant or war with their neighbor? No, right? The thing about it is if countries start to become more isolated, more shit will happen without anyone batting an eye. I'm not a globalist, but I do see the benefit from it to keeping countries in check, from going to the rampant mode.
US and China are reliant on each other and will keep each other in check, that is my point. The same as nukes in the cold war when superpowers like the US and Soviet only dared to pull proxy war at each other sphere of influence.
78  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: October 09, 2022, 10:31:25 AM
After losing to AC Milan, Juventus is still stuck in 8th place with 13 points from 9 matches, now Juventus is 7 points adrift of Napoli who are at the top of the standings. Juventus has lost a lot of points at the beginning of this season, it is recorded that Juventus has only got 3 wins, 4 draws and 2 defeats. This result is certainly very disappointing for a team like Juventus, the movement of Juventus in the transfer market early last season has not been able to boost the team's performance. Allegri can be said to have failed to manage Juventus, he should be replaced with another coach so that Juventus does not get further down in the standings list.

Napoli have a game in hand just like Atalanta, so they are more than 7 points behind the first place (I don't know about Atalanta, but I'm sure Napoli will beat Cremonese). But the problem is not that it is far from the first place if you count on points, but that there are a large number of teams ahead. One team can get into a crisis and fall down (and you can overtake it), but this is not realistic for a large number of teams. And overall I think that the title race is over for Juventus - they should hope to get at least in the top 4.
Agree. It was over for Juventus because they'd shown they ain't fit for the Serie A Champion title. Their track record so far is unimpressive, lost even to a club like Monza which is at #16, near the bottom. Again, I doubt they could even make it to the top 4 after this season end. Their recently lost to Inter also signals they don't want to change and push for better standing.
79  Economy / Economics / Re: At last, Twitter wins the battle!! on: October 09, 2022, 10:17:30 AM
Compared to Facebook and TikTok, Twitter seems to be less favorable but has for long being the opinion ground for the likes of Elon and ex president Donald Trump.
Now, believe me I'm happy Twitter is being bought by someone so ostensibly pro-free speech as Elon Musk, but man....I would have busted one in my pants if he'd purchased Youtube instead.  As far as social media platforms go, Twitter is extremely popular and one that IMO needs to be overhauled.  But seeing as how I don't use it and do watch videos on YT quite a bit, it would have probably made creators on that site a lot less skittish about what they say and what topics they can and can't cover.

But still I'm pleased with this.  Maybe soon Twitter will become less of a left-wing stronghold, but we'll see.  Elon Musk is not only impulsive, he's unpredictable, so it's anyone's guess as to what changes are going to be made.
I doubt Google's Alphabet Inc want to sell their golden egg, Youtube. Even a share seems unlikely. Twitter has been shit for years. You, me and a lot of sensible people wouldn't go to Twitter at all. As someone said, the place had a bunch of woke craps and blue hair landwhale that come to offensive from anything. A good reason why Twitter wants a sellout rather than keep operating that site.
Elon Musk has a noble goal for Twitter, to push for it to become more open, more freedom of speed after the takeover. So maybe he did see the potential of the site after that and willing to keep on the purchase. His criticism of Twitter because the place is full of bots is valid too. No wonder he halts the purchase at that concern, to lower the initial price.
80  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: October 09, 2022, 09:50:30 AM
Life will stop in El Classico and everyone will focus on this game. At the moment, there is no team that I can say will definitely win. Although Barça may seem bad, they have a 4-0 victory in Santiago Barnebau last year. Barça looked bad last year as well. That's why I love the saying that derbies don't have favorites. Both teams can win at the moment, but the probability of a draw seems stronger to me.

I can't wait for El Clásico. No matter what Barcelona do today, the two teams will be evenly matched. But if Barcelona win, which is the most likely scenario as they are playing at home against Celta, the two teams will be level on points and probably with Barcelona in first place on goal average. The two of them are already setting themselves apart from the rest of the teams, and it seems that only the two of them will be the candidates to win it.
