61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XEL] :: Elastic - The Decentralized Supercomputer :: on: March 19, 2018, 07:36:18 AM
Guys, its a big issue imo that there are no "officials" who represent XEL or the team. Sooner or later bittrex will ask elastic for more information and to sign more documents because they are an US Exchange and they want and have to stay compliant with SEC and so on. So I thought to apply for listing on bridge coin maybe? Someone could start a donation fund (with escrow or not) and everyone can send some spare btc to get the listing fee.. after this we are on crypto bridge and noone has to worry about delisting! Smiley

Bad news.
Yes, I totally agree with your suggestion.
Anyone who invests in Xel should have a backup to register into a new market.
Because it would be very fatal consequence if bittrex removes XEL in trading.

Another exchange would be good as a backup, especially when Upbit is a subsidiary of Bittrex, but ultimately, there's always Heat exchange that worked quite good in the early days when there was nothing else available for trading.

I do like cryptobridge, and I am willing to donate.

The 3rd I.R. will occur once the Internet, renewable energy/smartgrids, new logistics (driverless cars, electric cars) all merge into the Internet of Things

my personal highlights (around 30 min in) :
"this third industrial revolution platform is designed to be distributed, not centralized. It works best when its collaborative and open and transparent, rather than closed and proprietary."

"How do we ensure privacy when everyone is connected?"

Lemme know your thoughts, whether you agree, disagree, I know it is a long watch, but I found it worth my time

Renewable energy is still very expensive and we would need decades to adopt green energy technologies across the planet.
Do you see any driverless cars/electric cars on the streets?Electric cars are expensive and not so convenient. They don`t have any future at all.
The "internet of things" theory has many opponents. What if someone hacks that "internet of things" network?
We already are in the third industrial revolution, because we have the blockchain technology. Grin

20-30 years from now is not so far away - In the video the man explains that in the 1970s the cost of 1 solar watt was 78 dollars. now it is 50 cents per solar watt. Then he says that certain energy companies are negotiating future solar contracts as low as 4 cents per kilowatt hour. --> Moore's Law --- I know i'm doing a lot of regurgitating here - 30 years from now we're at 2050 (Germany plans to be 100% renewable by 2040 or so)

Driverless cars on the street? not yet. Electric cars on the street. yes I see one at least once a week. no future in Electric cars? lol considering they produce more torque, are more efficient, are faster, batteries are getting better and better with range. Believe me I do prefer a good old fashioned mechanical cars with an actual key you can turn and a stick shift. But unfortunately for me, when I get old, all the new cars will most likely be electric cars that get charged overnight via our residential solar smart grid that is being shared/traded with POWR tokens

Internet of Things is definitely not just a theory. It happening live in real time.

I think you missed the most important point, Blockchain is what will allow this 3rd Industrial Revolution to happen.

my personal highlights (around 30 min in) :
"this third industrial revolution platform is designed to be distributed, not centralized. It works best when its collaborative and open and transparent, rather than closed and proprietary."

"How do we ensure privacy when everyone is connected?"

That words are just baseless. Many of the politicians will tell you that they are willing to create an uncorrupted and transarent country with a healthy econimy (including all economical contragents). And some of them are succeeding. For example scandinavian socialism works fine. Your highlights are nothing more then some socialistic thoughts about global wealth. Absolutely baseless.
If the video starts from the alarms about the global warming then everything is not so bad. You haven't wasted the X amount of your life watching it and you can just  close that page.

"How do we ensure privacy when everyone is connected?"

That will never happen. The american and european socialists are pretty far from the real privacy. I'm not even sure that they know what it is.
the quotes I highlighted were just a couple things that I thought might be of interest to the crypto community...

socialistic thoughts about global wealth? not what I was thinking with that first quote. I was thinking of DLT (aka blockchain)

And yeah believe me i know how badly Europe and USA are watching everybody, digital age, big data... - again what I meant with that quote, is how do we protect (from hackers/thiefs not necessarily govts) all of the data that our homes, cars, cellphones, computers, will generate in the future?

that's a valid question whether it is existential or not is up to you, but I think it is worth discussing in a crypto forum.

Found this gem of a lecture by Jeremy Rifkin, Professor at Wharton, Economist

Short Version

He argues that we are on the brink of a 3rd Industrial Revolution. But first, what makes an Industrial Revolution? According to him, they occur when 3 new technologies merge together. New Communications, New Power Source, New Transport logistics. When these merge, productivity increases and so does aggregate efficiency, this is what the industrial revolutions are

The 1st I.R. (Industrial Revolution) occured when the Telegram, a new power source called coal, and a new transport system (steam engine/Railroads) merged to forever change society as we know it.

The 2nd I.R. occured when the telephone/radio/TV, Oil, Cars/trucks/buses once again merged into a new platform of society.

65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Long Term HODL Cryptos on: March 19, 2018, 03:37:59 AM
I made you a list, my friend
1. Bitcoin
2. Ethereum
3. Waves
4. Ark
5. Basic attention token
6. Lisk
7. Zencash
you can hold them for a long time

I like your list alot - I would add iExec RLC and AEternity to that list
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RLC] iEx.ec blockchain-based distributed cloud announces its Crowdsale on: March 19, 2018, 03:18:47 AM
What happening March 7? it's high volume and spike, news? Thx
Charts look very good, i like.

Looks like a big investor or an insider (maybe a few) bought lots of RLC - good news to me  Grin
Apparently, large investors are preparing for May. Then the second release of the platform will be released, where it will be possible to provide its computing power for cloud computing. We are waiting.

I'm really looking forward to the May presentation, but for now I'm gradually buying more tokens while the price is very low
Yes, while there is time to buy a RLC token, it's very cheap. I think that after May at such prices we will not be able to buy more tokens.
This company has not yet broken its Road Map.

I look at several threads of several projects. There are all voices about "buy in". I am just curious that in this down-trend stage, is it smart enough to buy-in?

yup, I still think so... RLC under 100M mkc is a steal IMO
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Too many AI projects (?) on: March 17, 2018, 02:35:43 PM
sure there might be too many AI projects, and 90%+ will fail/not deliver on promises. Just like the Dot Com crash. But a few will succeed and will be a gold mine,
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ARK - Blockchains Interoperability with SmartBridge 🔹 ARK on Binance 🔹 on: March 16, 2018, 02:21:21 PM
Is there a comparison chart of all the blockchain coins
so that we get to know where ARK stands

coinmarketcap.com

I can't believe a Legendary don't know about Coinmarketcap, most likely he means something different. Can you explain what you mean exactly?

Mostly he is asking for a comparison chart on different leading blockchains similar to ARK.I do remember we have the chart available on this thread which primarily lists ARK vs LISK vs ETH etc etc...but cant direct him to that either, post if you have.

I was just being a smartass Smiley he probably was asking for something else.

there is 1 chart, but I would take its claims with a pinch of salt, it is obviously a marketing scheme (from Lamden Tau)

69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: You will be " rich ", potential coins 2018 on: March 16, 2018, 06:42:05 AM
potential

AEternity: Off chain channels (for businesses and the like) help with scalability - core code is written in Erlang - "cuckoo cycle PoW/PoS" supposedly it focuses more on DRAM, allowing it to be more effecient and even allowing cellphones to mine...

solid github.

iExec RLC - Decentralized cloud computing - Forbes (*cough*cough*) says cloud computing will be a 400B industry. Additionally Ethereum will need RLCs computing power to help it with all the dApps and data going thru.
more on this in here:
https://hackernoon.com/blockchains-need-iexec-the-market-just-hasnt-realized-it-yet-5597c743cd0a

Komodo - crushing the commits on github https://cryptomiso.com/ - privacy, DEX, dPoW, ecosystem

SingularityNET - long term hodl on this one. AI marketplace, AI's can exchange data and code to create newer better combinations of AIs, basically the goal is to reach Singularity (which is quite scary to think of actually)

Ark: bridging different blockchains together, dPoS,  etc...

---

i could go on but theres so much good stuff but since you really don't know what is going to take off and hold its value longterm, get into as many projects as possible
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Qlink- World's First Decentralized Mobile Network-Official Thread on: March 16, 2018, 06:12:21 AM
what's qlink's best selling point that will really drive me to purchase those tokens? I understand its low price now but i need a pull factor.

right now they are attempting to have vehicle manufacturers insert their proprietary hardware (BaseStation) into their vehicles - why is this important? imagine scooters and cars all outputting a wifi/4g network, Coverage everywhere. --> this is where it gets interesting, they are targeting vehicles that for in large part go to developing countries, Developing countries have a chance to skip a whole era of technology. Places where phone and cable lines don't exist will have access to Wifi/4g via mobile base stations (in the vehicles)

and this is just one aspect of Qlink - eventually we will be able to purchase the Basestation for individual homes, and Plenty more features including VPN
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Hold or sell and buy back lower on: March 16, 2018, 06:00:32 AM
HODL - look at the original HODL post and that should tell you all you need to know.

PS: (dollar) cost averaging is very helpful
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] SingularityNET: Decentralizing the Future of AI on: March 16, 2018, 03:05:44 AM
But, i'm still waiting that they will be listed on Poloniex and Bittrex, i think it is easy for such huge and ambitious project and team. Of course Binance would be great too, but we should start from that both, not so huge in vilume but good to trade too.

If i were you, i wouldn't wait for a Binance or Bittrex listing to purchase some (i you havent already), like you mentioned, a project of this caliber definitely belongs on those exchanges, but getting listed in a bearish market right now wouldn't do much for the price or bring that much more liquidity. Additionally, AGI hasn't been trading for all that long, so I don't mind waiting for things to pick up in a couple months, besides that would allow the team to focus on product development.

This company has not yet broken its Road Map.

I think RLC will go down to 5k sitting.
Because the BTC is getting down.
BTC down trend up to when.
And will be affected on the existing altcoin
I'm not against. I will be able to purchase even more RLC tokens. I believe that the iEx.ec project will be very strong in the future. This is the strongest team.

I feel the same way  Grin - did not get in the ico so for me to scoop RLC at only 4x its ICO price makes me happy Smiley

any doubters as to why RLC will be valuable, read this:

74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will the crypto market recover? on: March 14, 2018, 06:54:57 PM
my prediction for a market recovery is first couple weeks of May - bull run until early-mid august, followed by another correction until mid october ish.

No T/A, just what I think might happen.

I think it will be Aeternity

that is a good bet, personally i'm leaning towards Komodo
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CargoX.io - Whitelist now! ICO soon! Raised 2500 ETH in 24 hour presale! on: March 14, 2018, 05:35:38 AM
Dear devs,

CEO Stefan Kukman officially said in a slovenian interview (Pop TV channel) that 10% of the funds raised from CargoX ICO will be given to his other company 45hc which has nothing to do with CargoX (except that it is in the same industry). In the white paper funds distribution will be as follows:  55% Product Development, 30% Marketing, Sales and PR, 5% G&A expenses, 5% Legal and 5% Security. Thus, nowhere is mentioned 45HC in the funds distribution.

As investors, we invested solely in CargoX and Bill of landing on blockchain product (with Credit Bill potential in the future) and not in 45HC. Even though, the idea of 45HC might have potential giving 700,000€ to 45HC will not increase CXO token price.

Why have you decided to give 10% to the 45HC and how will that benefit the CXO token price?

Thank you for the answer.

This is smelling like a theft to me, if is true of course.

I was always under the impression that 45HC is part of CXO now - like that is their alpha/beta/mvp -

Maybe you are right because they will look very bad if the funds are used for other things than this project related.

here is WP
https://cargox.io/CargoX-Whitepaper.pdf

while it is true that CXO never specifically stated funds going to 45 HC - 45 HC is mentioned 11 times in the WP/roadmap

"CargoX and 45HC are complementary products that benefit from synergies."

"CargoX CXO token will be added to 45HC.com as a payment method. Paying for
services with CXO tokens will give importers additional discount"

I still stand by what I said about how I always saw the projects connected, but nonetheless it is true that it was never specifically stated. This is a question that should be addressed by a team member... I think they are more active on reddit.

78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Goodbye Blockchain. Hello Hashgraph. on: March 14, 2018, 05:14:04 AM
Besides, theres always Byteball or Iota
IOTA really ? Last time I checked they were claimed to be a ponzi scam although I did not investigate much but don't think HashGraph and IOTA are on the same page when it comes to technical advancements.I agree hashgraph is a controlled via patents but don't think that should hold up  it's further usage.

Ponzi scam? I don't think so. Will they deliver on their lofty promises? probably not anytime soon. It used to be a fraction of my portfolio.
Ultimately, my point was that they are other "hashgraph" DAG tech crypto currencies already on the market. Not to mention that Gbyte and Iota have an active github. cant say the same for hedera hashgraph.
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: March 14, 2018, 05:02:48 AM
I had the BTC - Byteball exchange bot "ignore" my deposit because it was "too small".  Admittedly, it wasn't a lot, but it was in the ballpark of 20USD at the time of the deposit.  The message was just "Received your payment of 0.059 GB it is too small to be exchanged, will be ignored.".

In my opinion, this is broken behavior.  If the amount is too small to exchange, send it back after some time, don't just confiscate the money..

Is there anyone I can talk to to get my money back?

I was glad to see that whoever runs the BEEB exchange is around to take care of their customers.  Does anyone know who runs the BTC-Byteball exchange bot?  I still haven't heard anything.  It seems like whoever runs this bot just stole my 20$

not too sure if this is applicable to you since yours was a BTC-Byteball exchange, but

For some unknown reason (Byteball BEEB core libs are up to date) Blackbytes were often not properly delivered during the last 48h. Therefore I have added the ability to make BEEB resend to you your Blackbytes. If - on minute after BEEB has notified your Blackbytes were sent - you still did not receive nothing just type `resend xxxx` (where xxxx is you batch id)

https://www.hederahashgraph.com/council#decentralization

you pretty much have to be an accredited investor to partake in the sale

other option is to join via SAFT agreement

here is some info on SAFT agreements

https://medium.com/@argongroup/explaining-the-simple-agreement-for-future-tokens-framework-15d5e7543323

heres a forbes blog/article mention : https://www.forbes.com/sites/jeffkauflin/2018/03/13/hedera-hashgraph-thinks-it-can-one-up-bitcoin-and-ethereum-with-faster-transactions/#2278492fabcb

highlight of the article: "Emin Gün Sirer, an associate professor at Cornell and co-director of the Initiative for Smart Contracts and Cryptocurrencies, isn’t sure how much trust can be put into Hedera's platform. “The correctness of the entire HashGraph protocol seems to hinge on every participant knowing and agreeing upon N, the total number of participants in the system,” he tells Forbes. “This is a difficult number to determine in an open distributed system.” Hedera cofounder Baird disagrees, saying, “All of the nodes at a given time know how many nodes there are.” Until Hedera’s algorithm has been battle-tested in the real world, it’s likely too early to tell if its security will meet a gold standard."

---
Im not investing, for many reasons, 1. Im not an accredited investor, 2. dont trust SAFT agreements 3. unproven in the real world and as of right now pretty damm centralized. maybe after a token/coin release...

Besides, theres always Byteball or Iota
