61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: what happened to electroneum.hashparty.io/ ? on: December 22, 2017, 08:48:47 AM
http://us-etn-stats.hashparty.io/

That is their new URL, the added more mining pools and separated the urls.

Thanks I saw that they added more pools, problem is that my address is not recognised anymore since I mined against the original pool, they aren't linked
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / what happened to electroneum.hashparty.io/ ? on: December 21, 2017, 07:57:37 PM
I mined this for a couple of weeks in November and I accumulated 3800 coins over the period or so hashparty claimed. I went back to Monero on a different pool and when I came back hashparty had split to a US and UK pool and the original site electroneum.hashparty.io/ that my address mined to had disappeared. My address was taken from the cli electroneum wallet circa Nov 3rd - Mac OS X

The cli wallet always shows zero balance even after full blockchain update, I tried the electroneum-wallet-cli --restore-deterministic-wallet 'fix' after syncing full blockchain but that didn't work. Have I lost the 3800 electroneum I mined?

(I have all the original wallet credentials)

There is no simple way to contact hashparty just a discord channel(?)

No benefit from 16gb memory of vega FE yet

Vega FE 2122H/s average running stable
1640 core @ .900v 1102 mem @.900v HBM temp currently 76C - been running approx 5 days 36299 shares 34 errors

blockchain with overdriventool (I can get mem to 1107 but errors increase)

I would post a pic but not sure how to upload on here?

I have reduced power lower than 200W but still working out how to do it perfectly - I can only do this at weekends (read somwhere mem volts and core volts must match)
definitely your downvolt doesn't working. There is no chance vega can work at 1640 gpu core with only 900mV
And your power readings it is the second proof. You should have 160 watt with working 900mV downvolt

GPU-Z shows

1664 GPU
1102 Mem
1107 SoC
61 GPU temp
68 Hot spot
77 HBM
3379 Fan
100% load
- GPU only power draw
0 Mem useage
1.0625 vddc

But these are just the settings I used on Sunday, I was playing around on Saturday. I'm accessing my machine remotely now

I use profiles on overdriventool, this one is stable and fast but not the best power wise

How do Ardenalin drivers work if you use them on a setup that has rx570 rx 580 and Vega included?

Any expirience with that?

Tried the Adrenalin and Enterprise drivers with Vega Fe, allows enable/disable but higher wattage and much slower than blockchain drivers, 2120+ vs 1500H/s. I tried the vega fe compute driver and gaming driver

Does anyone pass over the 2100Hs with Vega frontier?
As the Vega 56 & 64 are getting rare and frontier price is low, I'm looking over it.
Does anyone try a rig with several Vega frontier?

2124 and yes but usual challenges, afterburner doesn't work for voltages but overdriventool does, I have had 2 going full speed, can't get the 3rd going full speed but probably my set up. I don't have much time for tweaking
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: December 03, 2017, 02:34:03 PM
Lol, just discovered OverDrivenTool for Vega Frontier  Grin (I work away from home during the week so no time for playtime)

Finally something that works on a Frontier ! Afterburner didn't touch voltages

Got my power consumption down below 200W for 2124 H/s during rough tweaking, hopefully I can get power lower

1648 core 1102 memory 1049/910 average hash 2124 over 24 hrs

fan dropped from 3600+ to 2700 ish and temp 1-2C

Can't keep my Frontier at 2100. In a minute it goes right down to 1700/1800 range.

Already tried with max min fan speed. Something is missing me.

For now all I'm doing is setting the memory to 1100, the memory voltage to 905mV and running 2 threads of 2016 intensity.
All the core values are still at default.

What am I missing?

are you plugged into a switched on monitor which may be using your cpu video (not vega). When I tried unplugging the hdmi cable I it dropped to 1800 from 2100 straight away, when replugging in the hdmi I had to restart xmr-stak (daemon mode) to get back to 2100.
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: November 21, 2017, 07:35:40 AM
Have anyone tried mining with vega frontier edition? Wondering if the extra ram helps with running XMR?

its a faster card but the normal third party tools eg afterburner etc don't fully work with it, ie control voltage also drivers limited to blockchain and FE builds so people would say not cost effective
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: November 20, 2017, 07:32:20 PM
including mobo, wifi etc about 350w, I haven't tried to lower it.
*winces* .. Dunno what Mobo/CPU you have, but considering that mining is not CPU intensive, I can't imagine that package is any more than 50W. That would mean ~300W for a single card...?

I can get FEs for an okay price (compared to current retail), but it's only 10% more hashrate for almost twice the power draw of a tuned 56. I'd be extremely interested in the results of any tweaking you end up doing.

It runs about 100W on idle but I made no effort to reduce running power so I reckon about 250w

I work away from home during the week doing well paid IT work so I only get the opportunity to tweak at the weekend and if it falls over during the week I'm not there to fix it and I can lose up to 5 days mining, hence stability wins, but its just a hobby for me
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: November 20, 2017, 07:09:53 PM
does 2100+ out of the box no tweaks, peaked at 2600, had mine running 2100+ non stop for week 3 now
Wow. What is the power draw on that; do you know offhand?

including mobo, wifi etc about 350w, I haven't tried to lower it. I have 3 Vega fe's but I have the same problems as everyone else with getting the drivers and config stable. Wasted lots of time etc so decided to let one card run for a while to earn its keep

outside temp is quite cool so I leave the window open and it runs quiet at about 63/64C
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: November 20, 2017, 06:48:22 PM
I was wondering do the vega frontiers perform the same as the vega 56 and 64 (can they get 1800-1900 h/s using the tweaks and the blockchain driver) ?

also If I were to buy the vega 56 and not change the bios but install the blockchain drivers could I get 1800 h/s?

Thank You!

For those of you that have Vega hashing at a high rate can I ask what Motherboard and CPU combo you are running?

I have tried two different motherboards (TB250-BTC, Asus Z270-P) and have not managed to get more than 1350 H/s.
Both motherboards I have tried were running Kabylake CPUs (G3950, G4560).

Thinking of trying out a Skylake processor in case there is an issue with Kabylake and Vega.

Thanks

I was wondering has anyone tried out the vega frontier edition yet. do the guides to get it running to around 1900 h/s work on the FE edition as well? I was going to build a rig for rendering animations as well, and I wanted to know if I should go with the Frontier or 56/64 way. I know about all of the guides and setups to make the 64 work to 1900 h/s and was wondering if these will work (including that blockchain driver) for the FE as well.

I have had 1 Vega Frontier running on a Z170 board, I have 2 others but disabling and re-enabling fails to re-enable the other 2 although I managed to get 2 running once both at max speed.

I have now had one VF running for 2 weeks solid with xmr-stak-amd, average 2106H/s peak 2500+ mining electroneum (2 threads 2016)

blockchain driver, when it was running 2 cards was following a clean install on a reinstalled windows (using windows repair feature)

Mind to share your full config for FE? Driver, Power play table if using any, and stak config? All my tests ended up in a max of 1400 H/s although I keep seeing reports od 2500 H/s

quite simple really, vega fe in x16 slot, nothing tweaked, disable then re-enable (also using mining settings for GB-z170-ud5 mobo bios)

afterburner core 1646 mem 1102 custom fan profile to kick in around 47, temp 65 ish power 50

xmr-stak-amd, two threads of 2016 , I would set it higher but not sure what values to use

windows manages virtual ram but I have 64GB fast ram

just checked my new high score is 2601h/s peak, average 2106h/s (these are reflected at hashparty pool)

with a clean windows repair install which deletes all drivers I managed to get 2 cards running at full speed but once I started fiddling I couldn't get the second card working

I don't mess with card settings on driver, could possibly go higher but I'm looking for stability while mining ETN

Thanks! But you're using the blockchain driver for Frontier, right? That one is a pro driver without wattman access.
I'll do some work based on your input. Will let you know if I find something else.

yes blockchain driver, I forgot to mention I turn off logging on xmr-stak-amd and run in daemon mode, I use the web page to monitor hash rate when on my local network

Out of curiosity can anyone beat 2525H/s peak with xmr-stak-amd  Grin Grin  vanilla FE 1648/1102

I can get 2190-2210 out of my 56 modded and OC'd as sh*t @ 1620/1199 Grin Pointless for me though....

what temp was that? I do an easy 1648/1104 for the same on vega fe for easy 2100 and 2525 max, now the weather is colder I may push it further, running at < 65C, sometime near 60. I like my fans quieter though.
