61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sprouting Bitbean is 10X more profitable than mining on: February 19, 2018, 08:13:51 AM
No I don't have any beans, my interest in this thread was because "Sprouting Bitbean is 10X more profitable than mining", so I like several others started to calculate if it's really true and whether or not I should start getting some bitbean's instead of instead of mining.

Since you are making at least $94/day, lets just round that up to $100/day or $3000/month for comparison purposes.
So if I wanted to get into bitbean sprouting today with a goal of making $3000/month :
I would need about 5.6 million beans to sprout ~$3000 / month.  5.6 million beans would cost ~$75,600, lets just round down to $75,000 initial investment to make $3000 / month.
So the ROI would be 75000 / 3000 = 25 months to break even.

Comparing that to the Antminer L3 (since it's available to order now), lets say an L3 after shipping, customs (US), and power supply = $1900 each
you could buy 39 L3+ miners
Each L3+ is currently making about $10 / day profit (using my electric rate of $0.10 /kwh)
so 39 * $10 = $390 / day * 30 = $11,700 / month
So the ROI would be 75000 / 11700 = 6.4 months to break even

Looks like you got lucky by jumping in super early if you were able to get that many beans for cheap, but the ship has sailed for new comers...

Looking back to November when a bean was $.0021 / bean you could have gotten the 5.6 million beans for ~$12,000 so that would be a 4 month ROI.
A 4 month ROI is better than the current 6 month ROI on an L3, but it's in no way 10X more profitable than mining, unless you have a terrible mining setup.  even just buying GTX 1060s at an exorbitant inflated price would give a better ROI than buying bitbeans for sprouting at this point.

All that being said, I'm not here to argue or bash bitbean sprouting...  So if there's something I'm missing and there is a way for me to get into it with a better ROI than mining, let me know...

and stuck with the bag if the price falls

same risk with mining.... look at what happened with the D3 antminers. Investment is risk, that's why its not for the weak. Meanwhile my beans are pumping out more Beans and my mining rigs can't even compare in satoshi generation.

true that mining and investing are both risks, but I fail to see why beans are more profitable than mining.
If beans are giving a 4% per month return, then comparing that to the D3 (I have 2) :
I'm running my D3s at low speed to cut down on heat, after factoring in power consumption they are profiting around $3.15/day
$3.15 * 30 = $94.50 / month
I paid around $1700 with the power supply, so $94.50 / $1700 = 5.6% monthly return.

So a D3 is already more profitable, and this is the worst of times for mining with a D3.
Take into account that at one point the D3 was pulling in $8 / day profit and the D3 pulls even further ahead.

Maybe if you loaded up on beans a while back when they were super cheap it was worth it, but now I just don't see it...

do you have an equitable amount in Beans to compare with? I guess I'm lucky then because I did load up on beans. 94 a month? I make at least that a day.

How much are the Antminers Worth when you hit ROI? You still got your initial invested beans as comparison to the Antminers. But there is no guarantee that the beans won't fall in price and the profit from the miners may change, up or down. It is very hard to know Before what is going to be most profitable and very easy afterwards and say what have been most profitable.

I have no beans and no antminers either. But just wanted to say it is not easy to do these kind of calculations. Maybe you can do a compromise, buy some miners and buy some staking coins and invest some of the mining profits into staking coins. Spread your risks. Maybe one of the alternatives is going to be much better than the other but you can't say for sure which one is going to be best in future.
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Overclocking is worth? on: February 16, 2018, 09:27:47 AM
Besides upping temperatures overclocking also increase Power consumption. At some level of overclocking the increase of hashrate may no longer be worth the increased Power consumption, especially if you pay high price for electricity or if you are maximizing Power supply capacity or are close to blow the fuses in the building. Increased heat also requires more cooling.

There is CRDS on CryptoBridge decentralized Exchange.
https://wallet.crypto-bridge.org/market/BRIDGE.CRDS_BRIDGE.BTC

I have tried it and it works.
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: List of Mining Profit Calculators on: February 15, 2018, 05:38:16 PM
Another burstcoin calcluator. I think each pool has one, but this is another popular pool.

Thanks!
Updated with your link.

(Sorry, I don't have anymore merit to send now)
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Slow hashing XMR with 2 x Opteron 6376 on: February 15, 2018, 04:34:08 PM
You can check this thread regarding config
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1809877.0

Edit: Regarding the monerobenchmarks it may have been an overclocked system. Who knows it is just one entry made by some random person. I read somewhere about overclocking of these CPU's up to 4 GHz with water cooling and motherboards with modded bios but also Power consumption of 1000 W... Not Worth doing for mining.
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: List of Mining Profit Calculators on: February 15, 2018, 01:51:01 PM
Nice lists, thanks.

For mining calculators there is also https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/ and Masternodes https://masternodes.pro/

Thanks!

I have added them to the list now.

Edit: And also gave you merit for your kindness!

68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Slow hashing XMR with 2 x Opteron 6376 on: February 15, 2018, 08:42:27 AM
I Think you can expect around 1000 H/s with two Opteron 6376. I have four Opteron 6276 and can get at max 2000 H/s and the 6376 is about same performance but with lower power consumption.
69  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: February 14, 2018, 05:00:49 PM
I was a bit dissapointed when I at last got activity level high enough to be full member but then they had just added this merit system so now it feels impossible to become a full member. How can I actually get more merit? I don't Think anyone ever will give me that for free...

Can I get merit by joining Bounty Campaigns? Or should a make tutorials or something else? Don't understand what is required to earn merit?

Merit is somewhat subjective, but well constructed posts and things that are helpful or interesting are good places to start.

The fact that you are aware you won't get it "for free" struck me as positive. Nothing in life is really free, and never will be. So that earned you one merit in itself. Bounty campaigns are just about money. They are actually part of the problem this is supposed to address. I have severe doubts as to its efficacy, but it's at least a step in the right direction. As to tutorials and things of that nature, while I obviously can only speak for myself, I would find those worthy of merit if they are both useful and well written.

Thanks a lot! No I don't expect to get it for free and I don't mean to pay Money to get it. I want to write useful posts but was not sure what kind of posts people like. I am mostly into mining and I am a Linux user so maybe I can write some guide how to mine in Linux and put in altcoin mining section. Maybe this system actually works and make this forum a better place.

Det finns mobila plånböcker såsom coinomi wallet men antar det inte riktigt är vad du menar? Går också sälja bitcoin på localbitcoins eller köpa med swish på bt.cx.

is anyone having issues with MN payouts? Mine has been paying out every 1-2 days like clockwork for a very long time...it has now been a week since it paid out. I tried re-scanning the blockchain and rebuilding the index, shutting down and restarting the wallet and MN, but nothing seems to work. I'm on Windows wallet v0.12.2 so i have the latest version as far as i am aware. Sentinel/Watchdog is ok and MN shoes up as Enabled.

thanks.

2-3 Days between payouts for me lately. When the total number of masternodes increase the payouts comes less often but a week does not sound normal unless you have restarted your masternode. A new start can probably need up to a week before first payout. Normally I don't check my local wallet, I just check block Explorer to see if MN has paid to my address.

http://block.monacocoin.net:8080/

Enter your address in block Explorer search and see if you have received anything.

73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: It's 2018 why do exchanges have a hard time with cryptonight coins? on: February 14, 2018, 08:21:19 AM
Maybe its because we have many little CN coins wich have little difference from monero. Monero listed at all big exchanges

If the differences are small from Monero it should be easy to list other CN coins too? Is it easier to list coins that are forked from Monero than forks from Bytecoin? Reason for asking is that Intense coin is going to rebase to a Monero fork and I hope that will make it easier to get listed on new Exchanges.
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] INTENSE COIN - Blockchain backed decentralized VPN - Hybrid PoW on: February 13, 2018, 05:13:05 PM
Everybody complains at Stocks.Exchange but nobody trades on tradeogre.
Not saying that tradeogre is better but with no volume it is not even worth trying it.

Regarding masternodes you can check here:
https://masternodes.online/

I like Monoeci, solid masternode and good Project.

Regarding staking I think Bean Cash (BitBean) looks interesting
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=969676.0

If price of coin rise you earn more but if price fall you might not earn anything so make sure to choose a coin that you beleive in. Don't look at ROI numbers alone. It is not uncommon that coins with silly high ROI quickly drops in price. Like somebody thought Zen secure nodes are a bad choice because of low ROI. But I think they might still be a good choice because of the chance of increasing price because this is a good solid coin. There are a lot of new masternode coins that may be just scam coins.
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Add second PSU to my rig on: February 13, 2018, 12:58:06 PM
So, you didn't have enough connector for powering the 4th GPU and you plan to add one more PSU to powering the 4th GPU or maybe you will powering two or more GPU with 2nd PSU, my assumption since you didn't say how much power your 1st and 2nd PSU. It's okay with that scheme, but always calculate the power consumptions of your device.

(dual PSU cables shouldn't wire all the connections from both 20/24-pin main connectors; it should only have all the cables for one connector, then the other should only have the green pin and one ground connected).

If we are trying to do jump-start, make sure give dummy load on 5v.

Oh I did not know about 5V dummy load. What kind of load do you suggest to put on 5V?

Google found this: https://pcbsmoke.wordpress.com/2012/11/21/converting-an-atx-power-supply-into-a-dc-bench-supply/

"Q. Which power rail do I install the dummy load resistor on?
A. As a general rule, you install the dummy load on either the +5 volt rail or the +12 volt rail, whichever one has the most power."

Modern Power supply have most Power on 12 V and since we already connect GPU and risers maybe we don't need any dummy load?

Are the Snowgem Masternodes similar to Zencash secure nodes or are they different? Just found this Project on https://www.crypto-coinz.net/crypto-calculator/ mining calculator and I do also like masternode coins.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][REVIVE] HumanitaryCoin [POW][CRYPTONIGHT][ASIC RESISTANT] on: February 08, 2018, 01:54:46 PM
Announcement

I inform everyone that the algorithm of HumanitaryCoin will be changed, this to solve the problem of listing in an exchange, taking into account that the new algorithm is 100% supported in all exchanges.

The new algorithm will be announced soon, but from now on HumanitaryCoin will be listed on YoBit (they charge only 0.1 BTC).

this is the option we have left, getting stuck to the algorithm cryptonight is a big problem to trade, however much this algorithm avoids centralization.

When will it be done?
At the right moment, since the amount collected in the campaign is kept waiting for the appreciation of Sumokoin (expecting to reach at least $ 8.00).

Here is an Exchange that have listed some cryptonight coins (in case you want to keep the algo)
https://tradeogre.com/markets

I like cryptonight because it can be mined with both CPU and GPU and also ASIC resistant.
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The best rig operating system. ethOS vs. Windows vs. Linux vs. MS-DOS? on: February 08, 2018, 12:53:25 PM
Use what you know best. I use Arch Linux because I use it for Everything else too.
If you are into CPU mining you can often get higher hashrate in Linux.
I feel I have more Control when using Linux.

Edit: Old thread...
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining hashrates with a i7 8700k on: February 08, 2018, 12:33:11 PM
http://monerobenchmarks.info/singleCPUINTEL.php
Search 8700k on that page.

Around 400 H/s seems possible with cryptonight.

https://www.nicehash.com/profitability-calculator/intel-cpu-i7-7700k-470ghz?e=0.1&currency=USD
Nicehash seems to choose Hodl as algo.
Could it be ROI Coin which is profitable?
According to Nicehash the 7700K get 360 H/s at cryptonight.
I Think you can get a bit more using a miner like xmrig.
