61  Economy / Economics / Re: Starbucks drops hint at plans to accept Bitcoin on: September 06, 2018, 10:29:06 AM
Quote
Back in May, reports surfaced that New York Stock Exchange owner Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) was developing a Bitcoin trading platform. This morning, it officially announced the creation of Bakkt, a new company that will help trade and convert the best known cryptocurrency to fiat money — government-backed legal tender.

As one might expect from a new company with close ties to the NYSE, Bakkt has enlisted some big names already, including backing from Microsoft, Starbucks and BCG. Microsoft, for its part, will provide cloud infrastructure for the service. Even more compelling, however, is the involvement of Starbucks.

After all, the coffee giant has played an outsized role in helping mainstream mobile payments among the U.S. population, it has worked with Square (which accepts Bitcoin) and it just announced a deal with Alibaba in China for coffee deliveries. The chain isn’t always the first to adopt payment solutions, but its involvement goes a long ways toward legitimizing technologies among the public. If played right, this could be the push Bitcoin as a payment system for mainstream consumers here in the States.

In a statement, Starbucks referred to itself as “the flagship retailer” involved in the project, hinting at the very real potential that the company is setting itself up to accept Bitcoin converted through the Bakkt system.

“As the flagship retailer, Starbucks will play a pivotal role in developing practical, trusted and regulated applications for consumers to convert their digital assets into US dollars for use at Starbucks,” said Starbucks Payments VP Maria Smith said in the statement. “As a leader in Mobile Pay to our more than 15 million Starbucks Rewards members, Starbucks is committed to innovation for expanding payment options for our customers.”

Bakkt’s implications go well beyond mobile payments, of course. As Fortune notes, the system could help attract investors who have been put off by Bitcoin’s extremely volatile nature. Among other things, it could help make the currency a safer choice for 401(k)s, IRAs and other retirement plans. That, in turn, could help propel Bitcoin toward wider Wall Street trading.

https://techcrunch.com/2018/08/03/starbucks-drops-major-hint-at-plans-to-accept-bitcoin/

....

Purchasing a cup of coffee via bitcoin might materialize faster than anyone had thought.

I like the idea of starbucks embracing bitcoin. It is known some starbucks function almost exactly like homeless shelters. Adopting bitcoin could put crypto currencies into the hands of where its needed in terms of helping the poor, the unbanked, those who can't afford the minimum balance on a bank account or have trouble obtaining debit cards or credit cards to make electronic transactions. Over the long term this could help people to find jobs to give them more options and opportunities which could help them to escape poverty and elevate their standard of living. Which in turn could help reduce crime and negative trends associated with violence.

The point @ the bottom about making bitcoin a safer choice for 401k's, IRAs and retirement plans is interesting. I've wondered if bitcoin and crypto currencies in general could have future potential for retirement funds due to them being designed to appreciate in value over time. An asset which appreciates in value could help to offset increasingly higher costs associated with higher average lifespan. It could imply crypto has potential there.
Starbucks is the best coffee producer and the most standard place over my region to have a cup of coffee. They are much more advanced and they do like to go into the technical world so i knew that some or the other day they might accept bitcoins as a mean of payment. This is really great for them as well as the community members because it would boost the use and regulations of bitcoins.
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TOKEN-PRE-SALE] DNAtix – The Future Of Genetics Is Here on: September 06, 2018, 10:18:18 AM
Interesting project concept, what are your areas of specialties in the medical department? I guess all aspects will be covered right?
Yes, all tha major aspects would be covered and i think that this project can turn great ahead in terms of the medical study. Cryptos need such kind of projects to really matter a lot for the humanlife and also to come to a major attention. These projects would contribute a lot to the betterment of the cryptos.
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚡⭐⭐ [ANN] DISPATCH LABS – Scalable smart-contract platform for infinite data on: September 06, 2018, 10:15:15 AM
It seems this projrct is not affected regardless if bitcoin and ethereum is going down. Its good that they already built their reputation in their community.
This project will not actually be affected by the dumps bitcoins and etherum are facing currently. Yes, some amount of investors can wait for their investment due to the price drop but it would anyhow come in favour of dispatch labs and it would indeed have a better future ahead. This project has shown much potential to face the ups and downs.
64  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's all RED!!! This could really be the end. on: September 05, 2018, 04:13:08 PM
currently the red market is very unfriendly with traders and investors.
but it's very good to buy bitcoin / altcoin, and wait for the green price again.
It is not actually unfriendly to the traders or the investors but indeed it is a green signal to invest into cryptos again and get into it. This is a better start to get into and offcourse with the markets going green again, all the traders/investors can gain huge profits for holding their coins. It is always better to purchase more and more Cryptos in the bull run market because the price surely hikes up after the bull run and it can be very much profitable.
65  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling related law in India on: September 05, 2018, 05:52:07 AM
As per a recent article online:

https://medium.com/@cryptokanoon/law-commission-of-india-treats-crypto-currency-at-par-with-other-recognized-electronic-means-of-4ec662183b7e

Trend of online gambling with crypto in India is on continuous rise. What is your opinion about this ?
this means that crypto can be enjoyed by several countries in the world, if indeed gambling in India already uses crypto, it means that India is an important part of the future development of crypto.

India as far as I know has a illegal status to gambling in their country unless it is on the sea being setup. On land they have this law that it is illegal and if caught you would be punished and may be imprisoned.  And also if used crypto to gambling still you are doing illegal thing.

Cryptos are not actually mentioned completely legal in India and also gambling in some parts is legal and allowed under some special acts and permissions. If done without permission and under illegal acts, then gambling can be punished and the individual caught in gambling can be imprisoned for a certain time limit. It is for the betterment of the country i guess and it might surely be donating some major rules and acts to the country.
66  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What Motivates you to Invest in Cryptocurrency? on: September 05, 2018, 05:15:30 AM
Only one thing motivates me to be with cryptos and that is the sky reaching price for bitcoins. The price for bitcoins now is not that good and i do aggree that but the price was comparatively much low in the past years. As compared, the price has reach sky now and also in next few years the price for bitcoins may reach moon so that is a great inspiration for me and thats why i am with cryptos forever.
67  Economy / Economics / Re: Facebook shares price fell -24% on: September 05, 2018, 05:12:11 AM
Having said that, I don't think this is the end for social media stocks.  It's probably more like a big bump in the road.  The rest of the market is still raging, and unless investors start selling off everything, FB and the rest will continue upward.  This is definitely a good reality check for everyone.

5 days back, I deleted my facebook account and yesterday facebook fell -24%

I was getting hundreds of friends request from porn/sex websites, prostitutes, homosexuals, nude people, pictures of people with AK-47 rifles etc....

Be careful on the internet.
Lol.
It was a unique coincidence.
However the friend request depends on your search history, your mutual friends. But these days facebook is used for several illegel works and scamming peoples so yes, these kind of profiles can be harmfull and it is always better to stay safe and far away from such profiles. Facebook is a good medium of social media servers and also it is much effective for spreading any kind of news globally as facebook is been connected globally.
The shares which has fallen will again rise back as it is the common activity in share market history.
68  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Its time to move on, and ignore the BTC !!! on: September 05, 2018, 05:06:14 AM

For me it's clear, from the moment BTC went to the Dow it slide down and be played by the big boys.
More and more we see up's and down's controlled by some big players between 6000 and 7500.
Alt coins are following that vibe, and some step out the line but be pushed in the direction the big players want.
I ask myself who is behind it, are governments behind it that not like the BTC and want it pushed down to get people frustrated.
So frustrated that many of us, get sick and tired of the up line pushed down already few time around 7400.
Ofcourse we are human, and after some push down's, we want to be strong and not give up.
But we also not want to be that person that miss the boot, where the rest break and sell the BTC.
It's almost 12 o clock when this price will go up around 7400 again, and drops down again i see a huge drop coming.
And the faith in going up higher, will be lost more and more. And that is what they want.

So what are you going to do ?   Am I wrong ?      It's massive indoctrination dunn by huge selling dumps.

We have 2 options Guys, let them play with us and let them win.

Or show them that BTC is much stronger then some Jealous scary Government, they need to be stopped.

We can only win this battle if you leave your finger off the Sell button.

Succes gr Bas  sorry for shitty English
Sorry i don't agree with you. It is never too late to invest into bitcoins and you never know the future price of bitcoins. Several peoples made huge mistake in the year 2009-2010 by selling their bitcoins at the price approx 0.32$ to 0.64$ and some months later it went upto 8$ which was indeed a huge price at that time. If you consider the price now, you would see it is quite high enough as compared to then and may rise even more. Always try to waut and look your money grow in bitcoins.
69  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin after several years? on: September 05, 2018, 04:23:10 AM
what do you think will happen on bitcoin after several years?
i expect that bitcoin will a more bigger continuities and maybe that we can use bitcoin currency in public like buying in a supermarket cause we alk know that technology in our world was growing in every second that's only what I'm thinking
what about your thoughts?

After some years i guess bitcoins will get a immense price ahead. They will just bloom upm Bitcoins will show us some great demand ahead and also they might surely get much popular amongst the youth. Bitcoins can alsi be used as a major mean of payment ahead which would give us the ease of transactions. Several peoples have huge expectations from bitcoins in tue future and i am sure that bitcoins will reach all their expectations and will make everyone happy enrolled with bitcoins.
70  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: HODL is not advisable! on: September 04, 2018, 02:39:07 AM
In my very own experienced there is no good outcome when you HODL too much.
First of all do you know what HODL means?
HODL is used when referring to hold the cryptocurrency rather than selling it.
Holding cryptocurrency is no good because it means you don’t have a knowledge about trading, for me, you can do scalping trading and increase your holding by it and gain profit.
I suggest that all in the Crypto community must learn the basic trading fundamentals. There are free tutorials anywhere. Don’t be lazy, think big.
You are not correct my friend.
If you had some loss due to HODLING some coins then it is your mistake that you didn't choose the correct coin to HODL upon. Profits can really be multiplied in huge amounts if we HODL the coin for long intervals but the coin should be potential and should have a good volume. If you are pretending to Hodl a low volume coin than probably it would loose its value as per time intervals and short term trading can be preferred in these kind of low volumr coins.
Coins like ETH, BTC, etc have the potential to multiply our profits if we pretend to hold them for long terms.
71  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price in the Market on: September 04, 2018, 02:35:33 AM
How did you know when will the price in the market will pump and dump. How do you figure what will the market in the next month, I am having a hard time to predict the price I want to learn how you read and predict the price so that I also know when is the best time to buy and sell my coins.
Actually No-one knows when the coin is going to pump or dump but just we can estimate somehow by studying the phenomenon and also studying the graph properly.
I would suggest you to study the graph properly and than half of your problem would be solved. We can estimate the future price if the coin by studying the graph properly and understanding the previous dips and pumps.
72  Economy / Economics / Re: how to save money? on: September 04, 2018, 02:33:25 AM
here are the simple steps to save money:
1. You must record all your expenses
2. Make a budget for all expenses
3. Start planning on saving money
4. Choose something to save for your money
5. Decide on your priorities before spending
5. Make saving as a habit
6. Watch your savings grow.

any suggestion on how you save your money?
According to my experience, earning money is not that challenging the the world of cryptos but saving money is indeed much difficult for me. Always whenever i receive some payment for my work, or my investment grows, i simply convert them all to my fiat currency and spend them all. Thats not actually good but it has become a passive habbit. I need to turn it down and start saving some funds.
Anyhow i will try using the points you stated above.
73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest for Bitcoin on: September 04, 2018, 02:28:26 AM
In the cryptocurrency market, there are two types of crypto. It's Bitcoin and shitcoin. All crypto are in motion and are dominated by bitcoins. The future of bitcoin is unpredictable, you should not trust any shitcoin, including ETH. I believe Bitcoin is a bubble, but
- "Just because a market is in a bubble does not mean it's going to die." Bitcoin has been through over half a dozen big bubbles and increased in price after each one "
If you are a long-term investor, the best way to minimize risk is to invest in bitcoin. As for shitcoin, you should only invest in short term
- "You can make money trading the momentum and hype in shitcoins, just do not invest long term"
I do not completely agree with you.

Quote
you should not trust any shitcoin, including ETH
ETH can't be compared to shitcoin. Even ETH is much potential and can really bear good fruits for us if we are into long term for it. Price for ether has also crossed $600+ and currently is fluctuating between $280 to $300. This can anytime exide and also can give some impressive profits.
74  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why government announce bitcoin is illegal? on: September 03, 2018, 02:56:27 PM
We know Bitcoin is one of the powerful and top coin in marketplace.
But world wide all county are announced its illegal.
I personally think that bitcoin is very help us for paying any payment.
Its has many facility.
But our government are announced its illegal
None of the government announces that bitcoins are illegal but the terms and the ways they are used are illegal that's why bitcoins are not yet completely legalised. Bitcoins are used in most of the illegal activities online and i guess that is the worst part of bitcoins. This affect bitcoins to stay away from being legal. Even if these kind of works are shutdown than i think that the government can have no issue in making bitcoins legal. Globally all the governments should soon legalise bitcoins to really make the future for cryptos grow more wider.
75  Economy / Economics / Re: How Long Crypto market will take to recover? on: September 03, 2018, 02:54:20 PM
We all know this year is one of the worst year of crypto, market is dead and new investors are in fear to enter,  My portfolio is 75% down as compare to January. How long this market will take time to recover?. I am stucked in holding.
I really don't know. But i think, the market price will go back to it's original price after how many months. Since the BER is also coming I expecting that the price of the coins will go high.
we will see this year could be better than last year.bitcoin and ethereum would be main cryptocurrency that had best price growth this year.mainly CBOE would open futures trader for ethereum.
Similarly even last year was the same and the prices for the cryptos were not too high at the start but eventually at the end of the year they just rissed up much high and i guess that the same could happen this year. We all have a lot of expectations and all major investors are supporting the cryptos which will never make them fall. They will surely again standup and will give us good profits and opportunities to earn a good living again. Actually it also depends on us because the markets run on the demand and supply factor. The more we demand the more the price will rise.
76  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does hard work in gambling count? on: September 03, 2018, 02:51:50 PM
I am curious to know if someone continually invested a lot of time in studying a game involved in gambling, further if he had played the game a lot to understand the intricacies involved, then can we call him an expert in that gambling game? If we do call him an expert then we clearly differentiate his experience and expertise from that of a novice. This clearly shows that the person is capable of winning more as an expert than the novice who really does not have the in-depth understanding of the play.

This brings us to an interesting question if hard work in gambling really pays off? If one puts in a lot of efforts to understand a game involved in gambling, does it mean that all his time has gone down the drain? Certainly no. If gambling were simply a blind guess or a wild shot then even years of studying it makes it useless because one is simply guessing the outcome blindly. But such is not the scenario with gambling in reality. What makes hard work count in gambling?

This further sets off the question of addiction in gambling. Work can also be an addiction for many. But here the addiction could be for perfecting the game and the art of playing. This kind of addiction is to struggle every time for success by proper calculation and review. However, addiction can also be due to pure greed of winning with no clear knowledge of the game. If hard work counts, then we may actually find a solution for a healthier addiction towards success in gambling.
Hard work always tends to give us good profits but i guess hard work is of no use in gambling. You just have to simply bet on something and leave everythig on your luck. Gambling depends mostly on your technical knowledge and your luck. Hardwork is not required according to me but yes there are some hardworker gamblers who do prefer to make a detailed research before betting on something. These peoples do need to do some hardwork to have profits.
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETHEREUM OR RIPPLE? on: September 03, 2018, 02:49:05 PM
Many people start to invest in Ripple instead of Ethereum. These 2 giants are fighting for the second and third place in the list. What do you think is wise to invest to?

Ripple of Ethereum?
Check out the charts in the past and make up your mind:

Ripple: https://www.coinranker.net/cryptocurrency/ripple
Ethereum: https://www.coinranker.net/cryptocurrency/ethereum

I would actually go for Etherum because i do trust ether and also will do always. Ether has comparitively good price and also is a fluid coin which gives us the opportunity to make small profits in day trading. The price varies a lot depending on the demand and it is really a good opportunity for all those who wants to make small profits. Also holding eth for long term can be much profitable as already we have sawn a huge price in past for ether and ether can exceed the price above that which would truely be profitable for us.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I invest to Bitcoin or Ethereum? on: September 03, 2018, 02:46:14 PM
I see that BTC and ETH are two coins which had the highest capitalization on Coinmarketcap.
But I don't know why Bitcoin is still up and ETH always keeps current price.
Why was that happening? And in this time, should I invest to Bitcoin or Ethereum?
Thank you!
Bitcoins are the mother coin whereas Etherum was newly launched which makes the price differ. If ETHerum was too old like BiTCoin then it would had a good price. But it is actually good because investing into bitcoins should be in high amount because of the high price orelse investing low amounts can give low profits. I guess that the ones having low investment should turn over Etherum because it is really a low priced coin and easily can be invested into. Also profits in Etherum can be good in terms of day trading as well as long term trading.
79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Property? What might be the best investment? on: September 03, 2018, 07:52:39 AM
We had a very interesting discussion over the weekend and people debated if it was better to invest in property or to invest in Bitcoin. The argument was as follows :

1. Most people cannot afford to buy property, so they take a home loan at a Bank. The home loan is paid back with interest and some of these loans are spread out over 20 years to make it affordable to the person who takes out the loan. So, over that 20 years the house of $100 000 will cost you say $1 000 000. {$900 000 paid in interest}

The argument is also that the property has to increase in value, with more than $900 000 for you to say that it was a good investment AND you have to sell that property to get that profit.

2. The other side of the room said it was better to rent a smaller property and to invest the "savings" into something like Bitcoin, because your profit will pay for a bigger deposit or even a whole property in a few years time.

I think paying a high interest rate to a Bank is just as bad as paying rent to a Landlord, because you are getting screwed in both these circumstances.  Angry

We all want to live in big houses that we cannot afford.  Roll Eyes
Actually both investments are a way different. Investing into property depends on some certain aspects and also only getting a property in good region can be a better investment as the price keeps on increasing as per time intervals. Bitcoins are completely different. Their value depends on the demand and supply factor and the demand is getting rised which indirectly will rise the price of them. Both investments can be profitable.
