You are correct. The very beginning looks negative. However, the days following show the reality of the variance. I feel that if we don't show both sides, the bad and the good, it will be misleading or misunderstood to potential new members.

Most people would not Promote this way, but the transparency of Kano's Pool, is one of the greatest key points he offers. Nothing is hidden, not even the long blocks.
Thanks for this feedback.  I will show the current followed by the full previous month which should help on both fronts.  Since I don't always update my stats right away (this weekend amazing results was just updated this morning), I am going to calculate it using a 13.5 Th/s fixed value.  I could give my actual values since I only have one S9 but want it to show results immediately.  I am also adding a pick list so that there is the ability to show all the pools minergain tracks.  Thanks again and I hope to get additional feedback once I post that I have this done.

I think that the embedded image option should be the rolling 30 day since it is just a single number.  And Shazam, I am right that javascript is not easy to add to a signature and it needs to be an image for the most people to embed the value?

@Minergain

Thanks for the help!!! A simple 1 month spread sheet with 1 S9, like swanny88 did, would be great. Since alot of people use S9's it gives people a good base to start with, when comparing their equipment. This way, it could help people with X amount of S9's or similar hashrates.
I am coding this up this morning.  Since you have also done such great work with the signatures, I am also going to make an image that shows the S9 payout.  Should I show the last 30 rolling days in this information or just this month (which may be zero at the beginning of each month)?  I will also make an image for the monthly BTC / day / Th (what I have been calling CDT).

Big Block Friday!  Yay - 3 in a day.  I'll bet that makes the movers to Slush wish they had waited:

Instead of looking at daily payouts.  I like to look at the whole month or combination of months.

But I'll admit it is nice getting 3 payouts some days...haha

This is Great!!! Would you mind if I shared this in my promoting??? What equipment are you using??? Also, the 3x days are Awesome!!!
Shazam, I have all kinds of real-time stats including my kano mining info, BTC prices to the minute, mempool, difficulty and all kinds of real time info.  I am a techy and not always the best at presentation - which you seem great with both.  In any case, I could easily code up a special image/chart or html that you can embed into your promotions if you can come up with something that is easy to understand at a glance (nice formatting).  Here is a monthly summary for my single s9 on Kano - pretty much no down time so around 13.6Th/s average.  The miner rewards page can also show individual block, daily, weekly and yearly summaries.  I also have the pool users and hash that I could average out to the timer period if would be good to include.

I think you confuse not caring for not having any recourse.  I've read about this incident many times and it's good that you bring it up periodically because every miner should think about it.  It's why I moved here...the rental hash ban.  However, I like every other miner, has to place some trust in a pool op.
That is amazing point maddadata...  I have mined on several different pools and tried very hard to get in touch with the pool ops for various reasons.  Most hide their identity (and often contact information).  Kano plus one other are the only ones I have ever received any response from.  And Kano is the only one who puts thought and effort into the responses.  I guess that is a big part of why I am here for good - but never thought about it that way!  And even more than just responses, we all get regular updates, insights and nitty gritty info / training to help us understand the crypto world better.

So let me thank you again Kano (and also to everyone on this forum) for sharing so much to make mining a lot more fun and exciting!  Mine on and lets shoot for a 3 block weekend!

If you want to see some additional information including dollars earned when the block is found and current dollars, you can upload your rewards to a free minergain account.  Create and confirm the account, setup the kano pool then upload on the rewards tab.

** edit: We also have historical dollar to about 2 dozen international currencies since the first of 2017 so I could quickly add a preference setting to allow you to see prices in your currency.  Let me know if this is of interest.

Hi sorry... I resolved the issue, although it took me 7 hours of trial and error due to the nature of the failure on one of the switches.  Therefore I locked that other thread.

Fortunately, it was NOT PFSense, but rather a Netgear GS316 gone flaky.  Would have been a lot shorter day if it, and an old TP-Link switch I used for testing, had just outright died instead of kinda-work-sometimes.
Glad you got it going and so sorry it took so long to figure it out.  I work with digital signage and have seen ports die over the years.  We also have video/audio transmitters where the power adapter gets "weak" but still runs things.  I am sure you have all kinds of spares and was a huge amount of connections / infrastructure to test, but all the smaller miners (like me) should take note that just about anything can get flakey (or flat out die) over the years and to be prepared with backup equipment / configuration settings just in case.

Hi all.  I had over a PH of Kano hash go offline this morning.  Not a problem with the pool, just had ~150 antminers decide to not talk on my network.  Going nuts trying to figure out whats going on.  Any assistance would be appreciated.  Details at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3444035.msg35897218#msg35897218
Ironically it appears that I cannot post on that thread.  I have used pfsense for years and although it mostly works flawlessly, I have seen it with hickups - especially after an update.  If you back it up (I usually do one with everything including RDS and extensions, and one without the addons) then rebuild it.  Once you get to the wizard, just click on the diagnostics menu and restore the backup.  I have found the best luck without the addons and then just manually reinstall those later on.  Not sure if that will help, but may be worth a try since it only takes about 10 minutes.

Hi folks.. Just found out about kano pool and thinking about switching over from slush. Briefly, aside from the great community, what are the advantages?

From Minergain.com.

The current list of pools that we are supporting are (*CDT=Coin per Day per Th/s. Divide by 1000 for Gh/s):

Bitcoin (BTC) - $9,290.96 USD (Volume 8,660M - Great Mempool 100.36KB - 00:00:39)
Name   Payout       Hash Rate   Network %               Users   Block (d:h:m)           Week CDT           Month CDT   Quarter CDT   Year CDT            Web

SlushPool   Hybrid PPS       3.19EH/s   12.45% of 25.59EH/s      18,994   520409 (00h:11m)   0.00005127   0.00005287   0.00007371   0.00023871   slushpool.com

I just logged in and uploaded my rewards from the last 3 blocks.  The system uses estimated Kano values until someone uploads their kano rewards page.  Here is the updated numbers (hard to read copy and paste - sorry bout that):

Name   Week CDT      Month CDT    Quarter CDT

I just happened to look at the minergain home page comparing Kano and slush.  They are 3EH now but the returns for the week is almost double with Kano - even with a couple longer blocks.  Kano has had 24 blocks since 3/25 and the other had 588.  It is amazing the impact the pool hash makes on the earnings for each block.  So I for one will always Mine On with Kano!

One doesn't need to consolidate if one keeps their coin in their Core...not in some online wallet or vault or whatever.
I am not sure I agree with this comment.  I use core and there is still a transaction per reward from what I can tell.  If you send it to an exchange, then it is probably a single transaction to send (and you have the risk of it being stolen).  Plus when you send funds from the exchange, they pick the miner fee, not you.  Can you help me understand why it would not matter with core?
You're saying that when Kano sends you a single payout (ie., block reward) directly to your Core receiving address, you're being charged a tx fee on your end? Oooohhhhh-kay.
oh - misread it.  There definitely is no fee to receive the block payment.  But when I send it out, there is which is why I consolidate during low miner fee times - that was where I was confused.

Gotcha. Let me try an analogy:

We get paid in gumballs(mining rewards) with which we put into a bottomless jar(wallet). If we wanted to move some to another jar(buying/any other wallet/etc) it would take a little work to gather them all up to reach the amount of total gumballs we need. If we mash them together to one giant gumball we can move the one large gumball more easily.

That is to say, these small transactions stay fragmented, until we combine them all into one large pot. If we leave them small, we have to combine them before we are able to then spend them as a sum.

Is that kind of whats happening?
That is a great analogy (and tasty).  I am going to tweak it a little bit so that the gumball has the value printed on the outside (like an m&m).  I am doing that because no matter what the value, each gumball is the same size.  When you decide to move your gumballs, it goes into a fixed size jar that the miners convert to a block - lets say that it holds 100 gumballs.  If it takes 20 gumballs to buy that new miner (or pay your power), you are using up 1/5 of the miner jar.  The miners grab the gumballs that pay the most first.

When prices are high, some people pay hundreds of dollars per gumball so that it gets picked up by the miners and moves quickly.  Obviously people like us putting a quarter per gumball will not get picked up, so if we need to have our BTC moved quickly, we need to pay at least $25 per block to get it moved in a week during these high fee times.  When miner fees are low like they are now, we can put 50 gumballs into the jar for pennies, and the miners are happy to make something versus empty blocks with no mining fees.  So our 50 gumballs get converted into one gumball (the same size but a new larger value printed on the outside).
80  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [145+PH] KanoPool kano.is 7 BTC giveaway 🐈 US,NL,JP,NYA,DE,SG on: April 15, 2018, 09:53:15 PM
What does not make sense to me is the need to consolidate.
You never need to consolidate - they are always in your wallet ready to spend.  It is only an issue when you want to move your money around.  If we hit $40,000 per BTC and you decide you want to pull out $10 or 20k, wouldn't it be nice to spend $10 to do that (with one transaction) versus several hundred if you had 50 to 100 transactions?

Obviously if you consolidate every 10 transactions while the mining fees are low, you will be spending a quarter to fifty cents each time you do it - and it may take a few days for the "payment" to happen, but once you get it to a single transaction under a different address, then when mining fees get high again, you are only paying for one block rather than hundreds.  So as I have heard - size matters, but in this case, the smaller size is the best since it has the lowest fees.
