Does anyone have a problem with logging in to MyEtherWallet?
After i enter password theres a 30 seconds coundown which starts all over again.
And also looks like theres a problem with SSL on this website, not secured connection error

Are you sure you aren't on a Phishing site? Double check the URL and Cert, if you did go to one and entered your private key then immediately transfer all your tokens to a new wallet and never use that old wallet again.

MEW should always have the green lockpad in the top left, it should always be HTTPS.  If you ever see something like MEW or Binance without that, just DONT enter anything and move on.

Let us know if your coins are safe mate.
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 5 promising crypto in the second quarter of 2018 on: April 24, 2018, 07:52:06 AM
Nice list and good motivations for them. I would however definitely add EOS into that mix, mainnet is launching soon and it will definitely do well, especially over the next 2 months.

Neo is probably also due for a pump soon.
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BCH - Bitcoincash FOMO start again on: April 24, 2018, 04:39:45 AM
Anyone ever noticed how it always pumps and affiliated news networks shill it as it pumps, then it is followed by a massive dump ? They are just trying to create unlucky hodlers who don't want to take the loss to push up the average price.

Bcash looks like Tron, Verge and Ripple on the graphs. It spikes up and dumps just as fast. Its the "Cheap hot altcoin" *cough* Sorry bitcoin.

I am a BTC supporter but I honestly have no issue with BCH itself, my big problem comes in with their promoters who always seem to come across as deceptive, BCH would have done a lot better if it didn't have faketoshi, a multimillionaire before BTC was invented, and the bitmain guy who exploits the BCH code to print more BCH after it launched and that Rick guy.
Rick made some videos where he compares LN to internet routing to bring an anti LN point across. Now many of the things around bitcoin I am not knowledgeable on, but BGP is kind of my job. He presents half truths and twists the explanation of how it is deployed in real life. That video just confirmed all my suspicions about the dude.

I wish BCH as a coin the best, but not these guys. They really come across as the opposite of what BTC stands for. Thus I cast my vote with my money accordingly.

But alas, it's just a bunch of ordinary people whos money is at risk, its all good if Ver & Co can become even richer I guess? Ask yourself how much BTC you think these guys own and how much power they hold over hte market. With BCH being a 1-10 ratio usually, how much of the BCH supply they control? Do you feel comfortable with that ?
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have $150 Ethereum. How can I grow/increase this amount? on: April 23, 2018, 05:26:58 PM
I am currently looking to increase my stack of EOS, the simplest and actually easiest way is to just trade the news. I have actually been  getting consistent green this way by just riding the pumps. Such as today Icon has been doing well, so I have increased my EOS by about 7% today riding that. Price seems to be going up slower now so the stop loss is added and tomorrow morning I will buy back into my EOS.

For Ether though, it has been regaining its dominance quite fast so if I were you I would just sit on my Ether for a week or two before I trade some altcoin to increase my position in Ether.  ONLY trade into another coin when you are very confident it will grow faster than the coin you want.

That said. If you really want to trade, practice for a few months with no more than 20 dollars or whatever amount you REALLY don't care about losing and treat it like it is 100% of your portfolio. Don't ever go into a trade when you are feeling greedy, somehow the charts always know and they punish you for it. And really don't ever trade with a large amount of your money if you have not proven to yourself that you can trade green with some level of consistency.
In the end of the day if you have 0.6 Eth or whatever, that is still a lot. Always consider what it could be worth 2 years from now and don't throw it away recklessly. I mean imagine having 0.6 BTC lying around now, or at the end of the year? It is enough money to care about for sure!

On the other front you could do ICO's, but my recent experiences are ICOs only do well in bull runs, trading the news has given me much more gains and my wins/losses are within MY control. I have no risk  of someone running away with my money or any of that.

Hope this helps man. Ethereum will definitely do well again this year
65  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best TA crypto YouTubers on: April 23, 2018, 11:02:33 AM
I have found Tone Vays and his website quite helpful, as well as Bitraged. They have both been fairly accurate in their calls, they are both very conservative and "safe" in their calls though.

But remember just "knowing TA" doesn't mean you will trade positively. I myself have rather been trading off news and launch dates to increase my BTC. This has been much more profitable to me, knowing when a chart is turning bearish is useful though.

P.S. Don't watch Tone's channel if you can't handle him calling each and every altcoin **** that is going to zero. Smiley
66  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Lightning network merchants on: April 23, 2018, 09:36:12 AM
We seem to have skyrocketted in the number of people using LN in the last month, I am actually shocked at how quickly it seems to be picking up (rightfully so).

Is there a website where I can see a consolidated list of merchants accepting it as they come online? I haven't been able to find one yet. Does anyone know of such a site?

I am looking forward to seeing it integrated into payment provides such as Payfast here in South Africa. Will be awesome to buy on our local "amazon" with lightning !
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Death of the investor on: April 20, 2018, 09:44:49 AM
Well I fully agree, I myself only got in last year November ish. I found it really funny how everyone at my office just though bitcoins main attribute is "it goes up in value". Everyone only wanted to buy bitcoin last year thinking they will be millionaires  in a few months.

This year thus far has been insane though, we saw that massive altcoin boom early Jan, and then it all went to s**t. I think most of the "When moon/lambo" people have been shaken out. It has become clear that what we experienced this year is nothing new, this has happened a lot in the past and I am happy that I lived through it as one of the new guys.

Bitcoin is starting to build more real world value, we are seeing a lot of businesses and industries starting to take note. Soon I think the speculativeness of it will end and with it the Moon/Lambo people. Cause in the end of the day, bitcoin is still easier to pay with than fiat, screw the price. The tech is too good and its here to stay.
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nothing not understandable. on: April 20, 2018, 06:03:12 AM
I personally think we have crashed enough times and a bottom has been defined. Most people are anticipating the next bull market soon (PLEASE let it wait 5 days till I get my next salary to buy more lol)

If you check even youtube videos you will see massive positivity from everyone. I doubt many people will be selling anything now. Most people are starting to buy and the anticipation of a bull run will make it kick off.

Furthermore since last year, there has already been massive improvements in our ecosystem and we can better support large numbers of users now. Governments have a more clear stance on how they see cryptocurrency and we are seeing more major banks move in.
We are much better prepared to sustain a high price this time.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What do you reckon the top for EOS is around mainnet launch? on: April 19, 2018, 05:49:27 PM
Hi Forum
I have been wondering what other people's thoughts are on the top for EOS in BTC price in 2 months. Currently EOS is sitting near its alltime high, however I am still buying it because I am sure its gonna pump to a new ATH.

Looking at its contenders above it I can see it overtaking and reaching rank 4 quite easily, but do you think that a valuation such as 0.003 BTC is possible? I have not been in crypto long enough to know the magnitude of a coin like EOS launching.  The bullrun for EOS has already kind of started.
I am quite amazed that ADA is keeping up and that NEO is standing still though.

Whats your best predictions guys?

P.S. to mods, only saw bitcoin speculation and not altcoin - sorry if I put this in the wrong thread Smiley
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I start ICO? on: April 19, 2018, 03:52:20 PM
Honestly the world already has too many ICO's. Sites like these often times encourage people who arent taking it seriously to start ICO's, rake in a bunch of cash. Then for the first time in their lives they are millionaires and just exit scam.

I don't think platforms like these for instant ICOs are a good thing, ICOs should have a high barrier to entry in order to keep inexperienced and poorly funded people out.  I know crypto is "freedom for everyone" but not when you are playing with other peoples money.
71  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin vs increasing number of altcoins on: April 18, 2018, 04:51:24 AM
Many people are wondering this because BTC dominance is going down. But market cap isnt a great way to look at a coin tbh.

Extreme example:
What you must remember is that if shitcoinA mints 70billion coins and sells one for 1$. The volume then stands still. We will see a massive drop in BTC dominance. ShitcoinA would have about half of BTC's market cap at this point.
If it doesn't ever get traded again then its value will be added to the total market cap and in turn reflect poorly on BTC. However if people start trading it, then odds are the price instantly tanks.

Keeping this analogy, we have bad hodlers of bad projects who keep asking "When moon, when LAMBO !". These coins have zero trade volume and they wont be able to hold on to their price the second that a whale sells. Thus as more scamcoins get released we will see BTC dominance going down since the shitcoins need to have some measurable value in the market.

I mean heck, look even  bitconnect still has a 13 million dollar market cap. So if we are pondering if something can really contend with bitcoin, it is not only the market cap measurement, but actual volume and use in our young ecosystem.
72  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: MyEtherWallet transactions on: April 16, 2018, 08:10:46 AM
I keep like 6 Dollars worth of ETH in my token wallet. Normally ETH transactions clear in about 1-3 minutes. Just wait it out if it doesnt go through fast.
Also might depend on where you are sending from. Some exchanges like Qryptos keep everything in cold storage, meaning they process withdrawls manually just a few times a day, so in these cases the speed of ETH doesn't matter, you are going to wait.

I don't do that many ETH transactions though (not really a fan of it tbh) But it has always been fast unless there is a new cryptokitties out or something like that.

Also it might be that  you sent it to the wrong address if its not cleared yet. Go to the wallet you sent from and check for the TX hash and make sure you sent it to the correct address.
There are "Copy/paste" virusses that detect when you are copying a BTC or ETH address and changes it. So always quadruple check some characters in the start, middle and end of the address when you sent crypto before you actually send.
73  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: MyEtherWallet transactions on: April 16, 2018, 07:15:31 AM
So, I've got a little problem here. I have a tokens sent to myetherwallet. Inorder for me to withdraw it, I should transfer my tokens to an exchange (I then downloaded binance) when I send my tokens to binance it says, insufficient funds. I realized my ether wallet needs gas fee as tx fee which is computed as
Tx fee=gas fee * gas limit.

I started my gas price at 20 GWEI but I don't have eth balance so I decided to send small amount of eth to my MEW for me to be able to send my tokens to an exchange but it seems there is a problem in my  transactions.

Anyone here experience this kind of problem?
Can someone explain to me why is it I can't send small amount with my MEW or is it that transactions are just too slow?

http://imgur.com/rJsulHd

P.S.

Can't upload pic so I just include the pic link.

That looks to me like your transaction is pending. Just give it some time and check back later and it should go through fine. Make sure you always keep some chump change ETH in your MEW so you can always send tokens out. Just leave whatever you had left there.

The Ethereum network gets congested sometimes then transactions just build up. This is usually when some popular DAPP comes out.

Let us know if you came right.

Anyone ever considered that 80% of flat earthers are just trolling? I am sure there are some who really believe it, but it is such a wierd statement to make, I think you can get some kicks out of peoples responses.

That said, I think these guys just need to do a weather balloon at the edge of the world in Antarctica ( I think thats where they say the edge is?). That should give them all the proof or lack thereof they need.
76  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Death Cross Approachs on: April 09, 2018, 01:06:53 PM
I think though in practice 99% of people who would have sold has done so by now. The only people still applying sell pressure are traders I think. We should start going up soon. And if we don't, heck that is fine by me. More time to collect fiat to buy more BTC. We all know itl go up further eventually and get a new all time high.
77  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is everyone just HODLing? on: April 07, 2018, 06:51:00 AM
Well over here in South Africa our "Amazon" called takealot accepts BTC. If I want to buy a PS4 with the bonus i got this month, it is better for bitcoin for me to buy that mount in new bitcoin and then pay with bitcoin, or pay with bitcoin and then immediately buy new bitcoin.

I really think we should start spreading the word of spend and replace instead of HODL. If you spend and replace it is not like you are selling your BTC. You are adding more liquidity to the system and showing businesses there is a demand.

What happens if we all HODL and no merchants accept it anymore ? In that day regrettably I must say itl go to zero. We need to keep its use case alive
78  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Why is everyone just HODLing? on: April 06, 2018, 11:09:15 PM
Hi Forum
I would like to know what real value you think HODLing adds. What is the point of just holding bitcoin till moon and lambo ? This is cryptocurrency, why aren't we using this as currency? If we all just hold then this whole thing takes on a completely different business model, we lose all real value that it has as currency and it just becomes a full on speculative bubble.

Bitcoin and other currencies have no value if nobody uses them. So I would like to encourage everyone to spend and replace instead of just blindly holding. We won't see merchant adoption skyrocketing if nobody buys stuff with bitcoin. And yes I know it can go up in value, but why not just spend your BTC and EFT some fiat over to your local exchange and replace the BTC you spent ?
If any businesses accept BTC or other currencies it is our duty to support them extra for it and use cryptocurrency.
79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Death Cross Approachs on: April 06, 2018, 10:22:12 PM
50 day average on BTC is approaching the 200 day moving average

This is known as a Death Cross spooks the heck out of traders, I'm thinking that it maybe it will be pivotal point for BTC and as DO is correlating with BTC currently it could be a spike down, opportunity to buy more at bargain basement prices

TA only works in crypto because people believe it work. If you believe in a death cross then you will obviously sell off if it gets close to it. The same goes for everyone else who believes in TA. I have been daytrading the last few days, quite successfully. This is not because I am a zen master meditating in the mountains  to learn what an inverted head and shoulders pattern followed by a cup and handle with funny triangles mean.

This is simply because I am riding on what all the TA people thinks and setting stop limits.
You cannot TA something as volatile as bitcoin. How will your TA accomodate for JP Morgan saying they are integrating a bitcoin exchange into all customer bank accounts tomorrow? Or UK banning anything crypto?
What about a youtuber with 200k followers mentioning a coin? Will TA predict that pump?

You dont need funny lines and triangles for this, it is simple - dont be greedy and only buy on lows. A death cross doesnt mean anything in reality, but due to everyone  who believes in it we will probably see this imaginary line being crossed.  But alas. I will  even buy bitcoin tomorrow if I had spare fiat, its not on a all time high so why not buy now?
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is unique about Bitcoin payments is its speed? on: April 06, 2018, 09:56:25 PM
A payment can be confirmed in ten to sixty minutes wherever the recipient is. Making bank transfer will take more time. If the payment goes to another bank, perhaps in foreign countries, the transfer can take two to three days. Also, Bitcoin allows you to make payments for a fee. The higher the fee, the faster the transfer will be confirmed.

The value of bitcoin is not speed. No matter how much we scale a centralized system will always be way faster. The value and unique selling point of bitcoin is the fact that your wealth sits outside of any centralized entity. Therefore  nobody can play dirty and lose your money as we have seen in past economic crashes. The other major USP is the fact that nobody can censor your transactions, you can send money to anyone anywhere in the world and no central bank or government has a say in that.
I think people are overlooking these values. To a lot of people in less developed countries with bad governments these attributes are very valuable.

But remember just trading bitcoin on an exchange is not using bitcoin. You are still keeping your money in a centralized service. You are better off using fiat then. Always store your profits and spending BTC yourself, and do it securely.
