I was waiting for the Canaan A8's but at 4K a pop? Wow, that is hard to justify. Currently at 56TH/s with 4 S9's at 14TH/s each. I paid ~7.5K +/- for the miners (bought when they were $1,320 ea), power supplies and PDU's. To get the comparable hash with Canaan is ~23K +/- for the miners, power supplies and PDU's. I love the fact that Canaan is a competitor but WOW, paying 3 times the cost is very hard to justify for less hash rate. Did these miners use gold hashing boards?
Others thoughts?

That approached me about testing it on the pool. I said, send me one, and if it's real I'd put it on the pool to prove it to anyone else, and then I'd buy a bunch from them I've not heard back yet Thanks... waiting to pull the trigger on the new Canaan 8 series. Mining On with Kano-San. BTC

it's been over 26 hours since I switched my S9 to kano.is and still don't see any information on the rewards page. that's because we haven't cracked a block in 179 hours... patience pays off on kano... Yes, if you are looking for a bunch of little payoffs and high fees, this pool is not for you, however if you are willing to be patient, like bigger chunks of Bitcoin and low fees so you actually get to keep more of what is mined with the best more transparent Pool Operator on the planet, then KANO Pool is for you!! Mine On with KANO-SAN!!

I have put my toe in the pool. Have additional miners setting here but the electricians will not be here until next week. Once we get everything setup we should add 200 Th or so. My son and I had a mining farm back in 2013 but sold it in late 2014. Life has been busy between then and now but the mining bug bit us again. Look forward to cracking a few blocks!

Welcome to the Pool. Thanks for jumping in, the water is warm. Mine On with Kano-San!! Come On Block!!

Hi All,
I am new to mining. I got new 2pac gekkoscience USB miner. I am using cgminer software. I am pointed to kano pool and running for 20 hours or so with for past two days . This is purely hobby.
My cgminer says…

In my worker in kano pool web site work says …

What are above parameters means, when i can pay out (years)?
Seriously? Not trying to make you feel bad but that is so obsolete, you will spend more in power consumption than you could ever possibly return in a Bitcoin payout. Your payout will be in about a buzillion years. Go and buy a used Canaan 741 miner or a Antpoo S7, then you can "hobby mine", right now you are wasting your time and more importantly, your money. No hard feelings, just the plain facts.

I was curios to know the amount of data 1 S9 used.. So I looked on the stats on my switch. This was for 1 full week of 24/7 mining ( I think there was a power cycle but nothing major)
This is on the Switch port for 1 S9
Bytes Transmitted: 508 638 552 Downloaded Packets Transmitted: 6328715
Bytes Received: 1 278 968 648 Uploaded Packets Received: 5944259
Was looking to see if I can use a cellular backup in case internet connection goes down.
Those numbers above were for a full 7 days.
Well the packet count to and from the pool is pretty simple: All data coming and going is well under 4kb so never be more than a single packet. Shares sent (and a reply): 18 shares a minute * 60 mins * 24 hrs * 7 days = 181,440 packet sent and replied. Work received (and a reply): 2 work per minute * 60 mins * 24 hrs * 7 days = 20,160 packets received and replied. So that says about 200k packets sent and received per week. Hmm I wonder what the other ~400k packets are that you're seeing ... Monitoring? Firmware updates? Bitmain hidden code? As for the amount of data: A share is about 190 bytes sent to the pool (for a 15 byte user+worker name) and a 92 byte reply. Work is a bit under 1400 bytes received from the pool and a 52 byte reply. So using those numbers: 181,440 * 190 + 20,160 * 52 = 35,521,920 or a bit under 36Mb sent to the pool a week per miner. and 20,160 * 1400 + 181,440 * 92 = 44,916,480 or a bit under 45Mb received from the pool a week per miner. I think there is quite a lot of non-pool traffic in your numbers. I realized after I read your post... Yeah, I have two instances of Awesome miner monitoring the S9's So my Big Data on them is probably mostly from there! I also did do firmware upgrades on a couple. Haha Funny.. I should sniff the network and see if there is a bitmain hidden code! Their firmware isn't the most up to date on their website.. so Might be something I'll check into. Sniff Sniff.... You must love numbers... That was alot of math :-P Very interested in what you find...sniff, sniff..... could they be multiplexing your hash? Holding back blocks? Interesting, yes that is a lot of extra traffic on your port for just "mining". Keep looking, Antpoo has not been the award winner for ethics.

i'd really like to know why they jumped from 1415USD that I paid for them to 2320usd now. I was reading on another thread they think these last batches that came out early was some older ones they re-conditioned. Had the issues with the fan ramping up and down, and some other details that were very similar to the early s9's that had same issues. I have not owned any before, but I do know that 2 of the 4 that I had received had different fans on them, and they were not the same as each other also. I wondered about that. but the other two had the same fan ( with yellow sticker) as the first s9 i got back in November.
Something is going on with it. _ I really wonder why the firmware of Nov 15 that is on a couple of the new S9's is not on their website. They still have Aug 15 there. Strange......
Personally, I am waiting to load up on the Canaan A8 series miners. I hope they make enough of them to fill demand. I eventually want to get to the 300TH/S range. We shall see. Come On Lady Luck, you beautiful Anime Princess. Find us a block. Mine On with Kano-San, KANO the best Bitcoin Mining Pool on Earth.
