64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Coinye West has been taken down; by Kanye West himself? on: January 06, 2014, 10:01:46 PM
For a few days ago we published the news about the new cryptocurrency called Coinye West. The coin received international attention and had clearly a “to the moon” potential during the initial launch which was supposed to be January 11th 2014.

Now, the coin’s official twitter account has been removed, and the two subreddits Coinyewest and Coinyemarket has been locked.

Even the official site coinyewest.com is now pointing to another domain called coinyeco.in which gives you the image below:

Read the full story here: http://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/2014/01/06/coinye-west-taken-kanye-west/

The question is: why was the coin taken down? Did the managers or team to Kanye West contact the creator himself with a lawsuit in their hands? What do you think?

67  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You can now use Bitcoin to generate tax revenue for Colerado by buying Marijuana on: January 03, 2014, 05:38:29 PM
What incentive is there to use cash to buy Bitcoins to buy marijuana when you could just use the cash to buy it? The reason to use debit or credit cards would be the convenience of not having to stop by the bank first to get cash. Bitcoins, in this case, would provide no benefit in anonymity or convenience.

I just think people who got Bitcoins might take an advantage of this.

Stoner miners or minor stoners. lol
haha

Yea,, let's see how it turns out.
70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / You can now use Bitcoin to generate tax revenue for Colorado by buying Marijuana on: January 03, 2014, 05:14:50 PM
September 9th 2013 the Colorado Department of Revenue created the final regulations for Marijuana use and sale, implementing the Colorado Retail Marijuana Code. January 1st 2014 the first official stores has opened for Marijuana sale. The twist however is that you cannot pay for the legal Marijuana with your VISA or Mastercard. You can only use hard cash or Bitcoin.

Matt Miller from Bloomberg explains that:

You can only spend cold hard cash, you cant pay for your weed even for medical use with a credit or debit card. I guess the Banks are unwilling to get into this business yet.

72  Economy / Services / HIRING: We need a developer to create a Bitcoin Top List on: January 01, 2014, 05:44:44 PM
Since CryptoCoinsNews.com is growing so rapidly we are looking into how we can inform our readers even more. One of my personal ideas is to create Bitcoin Top Lists where you can easily see which websites are the most read Bitcoin websites out there. And to do this I need a developer that can manage the specifications below:
The specifications:

Need a Top List with 100 sites in a chronological order based on a code that website owners can copy from BitcoinTopLists.com and insert into their own site showing the BitcoinTopLists Logo (which I also want you to fix) and their current rank. The top list on BitcoinTopLists.com will include the unique readers the specific websites have had that day, including alternatives to see both a total of last week and last month.

The developer does not need to design or develop BitcoinTopLists.com. He/She only needs to design and develop the top list itself, including the code/widget to be placed on the other websites + BitcoinTopLists logo.

Payment: to be discusssed.

If you are interested in the job, please send me an email with some of your recent works and your thoughts on the cost in BTC. My email is crypto (at) cryptocoinsnews.com

74  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / BTX Trader Snapped Up by NASDAQ listed Company - Boards Shouting SCAM on: December 29, 2013, 10:33:24 PM
When WPCS International Incorporated (NASDAQ:WPSC) snapped up bitcoin platform developer BTX Trader last week  there has been cheering in cyberspace.  After all, bitcoin had just made it to the big time and BTX Trader is now an indirectly listed NASDAQ company.  But should we be cheering?

The news was certainly good for WPCS shareholders; its stock jumped up quickly. Interim CEO,  Sebastian Giordano stated that,  “As one of the first publicly traded companies to make an early entrance into the bitcoin space, we believe this transactions consistent with ongoing efforts to provide the Company with an opportunity to deliver improved shareholder value in the future.”  Yes, at first glance this would and should bring joy to bitcoiners, expanding the credibility and reputation of bitcoin.  BUT the cheering  has been short lived since a review of investor message boards and  SEC Filings suggest a different story about WPCS and why it snapped up BTX Trader.   What is the truth?

75  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / The Biggest Flaw with Bitcoin that Could Crash the Entire System on: December 26, 2013, 06:50:33 PM
A recent post from Reddit made me aware of that Bitcoin’s biggest flaw and threat which could crash the entire system, including the Bitcoin price, is now more current than ever. The threat is becoming even more real after months with Bitfury ASIC mining pool GHash.io gaining more and more hashing power. Now let me explain what is going on.

What do you think of the threat that GHash.io is for the Bitcoin community?
76  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Key Bitcoin Price Levels for Week 52 (22 – 28 Dec) – My Trading Plan on: December 21, 2013, 03:22:18 PM

In the above daily chart of the Mt. Gox Bitcoin price in USD, we’ve also got relative volume bars semi-visible in the background. Also shown are Fibonacci levels, a trendline and the MACD indicator. In the first section, I’ll cover these details and why I consider them important. In the next section, I’ll formulate a trading plan.
1) The Chart of the Past
The colour-coded areas correspond to the Fibonacci retracement levels. The levels are traced from the “Silk Road seizure” low of $109.50 in early October, up to the $1250 highs in late November and early December. A quick refresher on Fib levels:
the red zone at the top represents a Bitcoin price range between the high and 23.6% lower,
the next level down in yellow is the continuation of the range down to a 38.2% drop (or “retracement,” in trading terms) from the uptrend highs,
the green covers a continuation down to 50% (not a true Fibonacci sequence value, but frequently included for its utility),
the weird greenish-blue colour covers a continuation down to 61.8%,
the blue covers a continuation down to 76.4%. and finally,
the grey area shows the Bitcoin price range back down to the 100% which would represent a full retracement.
Unless the Bitcoin price falls into the deadly mists of the grey zone, it remains valid to consider price as being in a long-term uptrend. Within this long-term uptrend, we’re currently experiencing a medium-term downtrend / retracement, as represented on the chart by the yellow line. I would consider a break to the upside of this trendline on strong volume to be a partial buy signal.
Next we come to the MACD (Moving Average Convergence / Divergence) indicator shown in the lower block. As the name suggests, this indicator plots two moving averages against each other. The values used in my chart – and the default values on BitcoinWisdom, where the indicator is also available – are for a 9 day exponential moving average (9D EMA) signal line and a 26D EMA minus a 12D EMA line. The pink histogram displays the difference between these indicators – shortening bars indicate convergence and lengthening bars divergence.
