63  Economy / Economics / Re: WHY I BELIEVE BITCOIN WILL REACH A NEW ALL TIME HIGH VERY SOON!! on: June 29, 2018, 03:04:40 PM
I love bitcoin to be on the up beat. Getting back to the high will be highly appreciated, but what I will really want bitcoin and other crypt I currencies to be truly entrenched in day to day use by majority of the world. Sadly, if the currency is that high, it will likely negates the essence of mass adoption because it will be out of reach to so many.
64  Economy / Economics / Re: What factor influenced the development of cryptology on: June 29, 2018, 02:53:07 PM
It is also said that Satoshi has the vision of creating a peer to peer technology for transmitting the money. I guess this all started with the bitcoin where he created the crypto like that to have most secure and safe transaction. He always visioned to create limitless and fee less currency which he did at the end.
I think this was the only greatest emotional inflicting factor behind the creation of such crypto space. Later we know how the stuff started to work out with different platforms and the little seed of Satoshi grew to big tree today.
From what I have read, I have the same view about the reason for creating cryptocurrency especially bitcoin by Satochi. But unfortunately, events seems to have been derailed the original purpose of that dream. The great idea have been hijacked by the so-called whales who have turned it to a provisional profit making agenda. No one is interested in actualizing the great dream of the the developers, but creating great volatility that have attracted the government bans, regulations etc.
On the other hand, because the technology is decentralized, fraudsters have jumped in creating scam tokens and ICOs thereby extorting the unsuspecting public of their hard earned monies, again making the government step in to protect the citizenry from such fraudsters by way of regulations.
Not to overlook is the constant hacks.
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty is dead :( on: June 28, 2018, 05:42:48 PM
Bounty reward is not about the number of tokens, but the value in the exchanges. There are payments you will receive which will be in thousands but it can worth few dollars, because of the price in the market. So for me, the value in the exchanges is what is discouraging.
66  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FUCK YOU MTGOX on: June 28, 2018, 05:23:37 PM
We claim that the blockchian is a decentralized environment. Decisions would not be influenced. So if the man decides to sell his bitcoin, does it call for FUCK?
67  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's your plan? on: June 28, 2018, 04:59:13 PM
Check the news in recent time. You will surely want to stick to your crypto. China has come up with it's ranking of Cryptos. So no fear of ban again. The US has classified ethereum as none security token. Japan is finalizing regulatory framework on Cryptos. All these are positive news so it is most encouraging to hold on to your Cryptos assets.
68  Other / Meta / Re: "Guide" subforum on: June 26, 2018, 02:48:41 AM
The suggestion is worth considering.

Though many newbies are "lazy" as observed above, yet a sub forum as suggested will even spur hardworking members and even entice such "lazy" ones to do a little research.

Creating such a sub forum will encouraged the OP of the materials to do more in-dept study to bring out more and more posts.

It will be easier to refer someone to the sub forum when you meet those in need.
69  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The anonymous structure of the blockchain technology encourages crime? on: June 25, 2018, 06:48:54 AM
I tend not to believe that blockchian is anonymous. There may not be a name, but the transaction location and IP address are key information. Also, to have a wallet requires some measure of documentation like email. All of these are critical information.

Be sure that such words and others will be added in the next updates of all dictionaries.
71  Other / Meta / Re: The Reality of this forum on: June 25, 2018, 05:51:20 AM
Based on the fact that I now felt that the driving force behind theymos' decisions was not $

Right, I don't care about making money from the forum personally. (I've actually thought about getting rid of the forum ads, since it's often a big headache and the forum has enough reserves for a long time, but operating at a significant loss while there's money basically just sitting on the table feels wrong, even if the level of loss is sustainable for quite a while.)

The things on the forum which encourage spam are allowed mainly because it's part of the forum's mission to be as free as possible. Eg. banning bounties would undoubtedly reduce spam, but that'd be destroying an entire economy/population/culture which has been able to develop due to the forum's freedom. I am willing to take this sort of action, but only as an absolute last resort. It's always preferable to handle these problems by reshaping the environment to make them non-problems, rather than removing some freedom.

It's wonderful when someone is able to constructively do something on the forum instead of continuing with whatever they were expected to do under the status quo. Enabling that sort of thing is exactly why Bitcoin and this forum were created. Though bitcointalk.org is not a worldwide welfare organization, and people are not entitled to make money.

Limiting newbie participation is very harmful for a community. Newbie jail will never return: I consider the newbie-jail period to have been extremely damaging to the forum. When barriers to participation are too high, then the best people often just won't go to the trouble of joining, and the people who are willing to jump through the hoops are often people who aren't good for the community: people with nothing better to do, scammers, get-rick-quickers, etc. Having a permanent newbie jail policy would improve things a lot in the short-term, but would end up being a fatal poison to the community.

The low signal-to-noise is a real issue which seriously annoys me and is often on my mind. But as you mention, fixing it non-destructively is difficult.
We have to commend the Admins for creating the truly democratic platform in the world. All shades of opinion and full expression are accommodated, yet regulated.
72  Other / Meta / Re: with bitcoin price collapsing why not start transform this forum? on: June 25, 2018, 05:37:02 AM
Your proposal to strengthen the altcoin section is a commendable one. But to think that bitcoin is no longer relevant is like undermining the whole idea of cryptocurrency.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Right time to buy cryptos ? on: June 23, 2018, 05:03:40 AM
Everyone in the crypto space is a businessman. The motive is gain. In this crypto market, from my observation, no one knows the right market to buy. All are speculating. There are predictions in favor of upward trend and downward trend as well. The key thing is risk. Everyone is taking a risk. And of course, risk is part of the business language.
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Market will recover? on: June 23, 2018, 04:54:35 AM
If you observed carefully, the volatility of the market is not as we witnessed in Q4 of 2017. The correction is gaining results. It is only when you use the unusual, unprecedented Q4 market values that you think the market is not recovering. The market now seems more realistic. We may not witness the kind of market we saw in 2017 in the near future.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The most frustrating thing about crypto on: June 23, 2018, 04:44:17 AM
I think the crypto space is evolving and carrying so much challenges with it. There are improvements here and there but I see as the militating factor is actually it's focal objective, decentralization. When exchanges face these problems, instead of the team sticking together to resolve the problems, you see break ups. Next, a faction go ahead to develop a new exchange which may soon face another kind of problem.

There are new exchanges however, that are super fast but then not all coins are listed there.
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I will never join AirDrop programs any more on: June 23, 2018, 04:34:25 AM
Airdrops are always small amounts. If you think you will make a fortune out of airdrop then you have to rethink. Hard work pays. Joining airdrop is not one of a hard work. Join bounty campaign instead.
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you check a project's GitHub while doing ICO analysis? on: June 22, 2018, 06:18:53 AM
GitHub is a technical site. I have not known GitHub to be a good check site for ICO. Now that I know, I will study that site to understand how it works. This is good information.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can we still trust ICO Rating Sites Like ICOBench on: June 22, 2018, 06:09:55 AM
Judging by the attached article, it does seems to me the writer is watering down on other ICO rating sites so as to promote their own. This is not an independent assessment so it is not a good premises to debunk to rating of other sites.
79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Big difference in BTC price in local market ? on: June 22, 2018, 05:51:23 AM
It is normal to see differences between the international market rate and local markets for good reasons. The risk is lower when you deal with local exchange than international exchange. And in the India case, panic because of threat of ban caused sell off.
80  Other / Meta / Re: Releasing of rank in yearly on: June 20, 2018, 07:13:59 AM
The Merit system is broken, very few people actually send merit to valuable posts, the vast majority of it gets circulated between old timers who know eachother personally on

the forum, and it doesn't help that most of these guys are on the Bitcoin related forums;

so while altcoin proponents now probably outnumber the Bitcoin maximalists, the merit distribution is disproportionately in favor of Bitcoin sympathizers...
Your assassination is wrong and prejudiced. When you make such conclusions, you should be prepared to back up with facts. Merit system is working and people here reward quality contributions. It does not matter if such persons know themselves or not. What counts is the quality of the post.
