61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DERO: A secure, private blockchain with Smart Contracts. on: January 15, 2018, 04:49:05 AM
There are already so many projects like this...What's the plus value of yours ?

Cryptonote(like Monero) + Smartcontracts. This is a great angle, haven't seen another coin doing this yet! Most are just clones like you said. If you want something different check out DERO for sure! I follow these threads a lot and I see tons of shitcoins. This one, on the other hand, looks really promising. Dev is responsive, community is good.

Just started mining this coin, I hope I still get the train. The smart contract feature is the most appealing for me.

how are you mining this coin? directions? I know basics but there has to be a guide of some sort

You mine it the same way you mine Monero. Just search "how to mine Monero"(there are tons of info) the only difference would be that you would use your DERO address and DERO pool instead of a Monero one.

...
In Australia "Dero" is a negative term, if talking about a person a "Dero" is basically a low-life, a bum or a bogan.
If talking about an item it usually means extremely run down, almost the equivalent of derelict.
...

Lol, just like when Kraft changed its name to Mondelez and that turned out to be a derogatory term in either Russia or Ukraine or the like.

In other news, DERO is up to 0.00013 BTC / $1.86US on stocks.exchange... quite a run so far.

The sky is the limit after the smart contracts are done and we go on big exchanges!

In another coin
Sub pool of cryptonote was stealing hash.
I see it frequently recently.
I think that it is difficult to collect miners unless they show achievements.
There may be other plans than that.
They seemed like some groups.

Please be careful.

What coin and pool was this? Any real evidence?

Hi Dev,

"DERO at present is fork of Monero(Helium Hydra) with Bytecoin CryptoNote protocol. "

Can we take out the Bytecoin part? People see that as a scam coin, and I think being linked to it does us no good. It would look cleaner without it. Thoughts?

Ok edited elsewhere from site/forum etc. From main post will be edited after few days.

Awesome! Thank you!  Smiley

Don't be fools and sell now, you will only regret later! Unlike other copycat coins out there, this one is clearly different. They have something unique to offer. HODL for another year and you will be very happy!

Hi dev.  Please share the list of participants qualified for Airdrop 2. I didn't receive mine yet.

same still

Me too, waiting for the list and news about the next airdrop. is comming in a new exchange soon?

Dev will never publish the list . Because he sends coins to only those who ask him, remaining goes to his account.

Never got mine either! Time to move on guys, lot's of better real coins out there. For those interested checkout DERO, it's the real deal.

there are lots of chains. So what's the advantage of DERO, compare to XMR and others?

Last two months ago, i made a choice to  mine ITNS. Although its aglo is also cryptonight, but it will help to establish a strong   VPN and this will be more useful .

Monero + Smart Contracts(like Etherium) = DERO

If they can pull it off this is going to be big! I was mining ITNS and SUMO before this, now I stopped and I'm all in DERO.

I mined SUMO too when it was just launched for a week, but it's sad that I lack quality hardware.

Even with crappy hardware, if you mine early you can still make some decent money. An I5 laptop can mine ~60H/s, that's ~4 DERO a day currently. If you think SUMO is worth $7 now, that's $7x4 = $28 potential value a day on a laptop(if you mined SUMO at the same stage DERO is now). Even it if goes to $1, that's $4 a day on a laptop....hard to beat that. I mine with future potential in mind. A lot of people go to Whattomine and just mine the most profitable at the time, I find that odd since at the point the difficulty will skyrocket with all these new miners trying to get in. I rather mine unknown coins that have potential(like DERO) while no one is paying attention. Good time to get in even with crappy Hardware.

Hi Dev,

When can we get DERO in https://coinmarketcap.com? I think it's free....great way to get some more exposure.

yeah definitely, Lets see what are their requirements for listing.

not only listed in coinmarketcap, but hit another exchange besides stocks exchange will be a great idea,,
so the day trading volume will increase  Wink
regards

Dev,

I looked it up, and we need to have at least $50000USD daily volume.

"Does the cryptocurrency have at least 50000 USD equivalent of daily trading volume on exchanges?"

Once we get that I think we can be added. Here is the link: https://coinmarketcap.com/request/

What coin can I use to buy this Ico? How do you secure a private blockchain with smart contract? Your project sounds interesting.

It's not an ICO, but a fair launch. You can earn it by mining it.
78  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Graphnet: A System for Peer-to-Peer Packet Networking (PRE-PROPOSAL) on: January 06, 2018, 04:08:11 AM
Make it minable, please. Great way to get people to buy into the project and want it to succeed since they have skin in the game.

Weird, maybe your hdd is dying?  2.6 for HDD is really bad, i had an older laptop with a 5400RPM(slow) and that was like a 4.5 or something.

Gah, no, the 2.6 score was for the GPU, but it was also mining at the time and I think Win7 is too stupid to realize that. The HDD score is 5.9, so not the best, but not terrible, either. CPU and memory both score in the mid 7s. I would pause the miner to see if the score changes, but then the runtime counter will be screwed up and that triggers my OCD.  Tongue

It's probably windows doing crap in the background then. You can try leaving the system idle(no mining or anything) for 6-7 hours to let windows finish it's background tasks and then start mining. Hopefully, things will be smoother after.

How much ram do you have on the windows 7 system? Win10 is less resource intensive, so it will run smoother on Win10. You can try adding more ram to the win7 or increase virtual memory to like 16GB inside windows 7 to see if it helps.

All 3 of my desktop computers have 16GB of physical RAM and resource monitor under task manager only shows ~22% of it being used so that's not likely the issue.

I rebooted the offending machine then loaded up all the programs that were running on it before and while the lag not nearly as bad, it is still there. I'm just going to chalk this up to the mysteries of Windoze.

Huh, I just noticed that my Windows Experience score dropped to 2.6 and the reason given was the performance of the Aero Desktop... I don't recall what it was before - who the heck pays attention to that score? - but I do remember it was limited by my HDD, not the GPU (besides, twin GTX 1060s are way more GPU than is needed to run Win10). Anyway, a bit of a mystery, but not a crisis so I won't worry about it.
