I know this thread is old, but just wanted to comment on top. The UK Bank > Transferwise > Bitstamp route is now shut off from Transferwise - http://www.thebitcoinchannel.com/archives/3960What alternatives are UK Bitcoin enthusiasts using now that Transferwise limped out...?

Localbitcoins is the way forward, peer 2 peer at its best, eliminating any of the "3rd parties"... if you are looking to buy, hit me up, I am always selling on this platform

We've experienced a fairly notable drop in price the last few days as gox appears to be once again under the gosh with their legal requirements and FinCen breathing down their necks... It's driven by speculation and that psychological outlook of 'magical numbers' ie $100 is sending speculators running as it drops and drops. First time we have seen a drop to $83 on Bitstamp since April... A lot of activity on the exchanges these last 24 hours... question is, will it level this week and climb slightly higher edging towards that 'magical number' so many speculators hold so dearly.. The life and times of bitcoin.. exciting

I needed a wallet, so have gone with Blockchain on the back of advice from a few trusted friends. Is there any proof that the likes of Bitcoin-QT, Multibit, Armory & Electrum are safer than Blockchain? Have any of these been hacked or taken advantage of to a point that screams to new users "stay away!" Thanks

I have just started a directory for websites who have Bitcoins and other cryptocurrencys as a payment option. All sites for now, are listed free of charge and with no recip link back required. I will continue to work on the site over the comming weeks and then throw traffic at it. The site is http://cryptocoinshops.com Good idea! I like it, standard directory for any business who accept bitcoins. You concentrating on particular location first or throwing it wide open?
