61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NULS Blockchain for Enterprise on: June 19, 2019, 11:04:20 PM
I feel like their initial onramping looks super simple for businesses to deploy. It's smart on their part to also include a wallet functoin
62  Other / Off-topic / Re: Time Wasting at Funerals: Why? on: June 18, 2019, 10:53:42 PM
I agree. I definitely see the appeal of these individuals sending their goodbyes but they are also super expensive imo
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATMs should target developing and third world countries on: June 14, 2019, 10:28:16 PM
I like this ideas especially since they just announced they will all have AML compliance with ciphertrace tech
64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Verification of identity compulsory on transactions over $1000 on: June 14, 2019, 10:18:54 PM
the number definitely seems low to me but I doubt anyone will be watching closely unless shifts of this transaction happen frequently.
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: David Chaum Sees Elixxir Platform for Enterprise on: June 14, 2019, 09:56:26 PM
I could definitely see a massaging and payments app implementation for say uber or paypal
66  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATMs should target developing and third world countries on: June 12, 2019, 11:01:11 PM
I think that we will actually see more ATMs popping up all over in countries. esp now that they are moving towards having AML compliance https://cryptobriefing.com/ciphertrace-easy-aml-bitcoin-atms/

but I do agree I would like to see these all over the world.
67  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Technology development taking us to? on: June 12, 2019, 10:49:29 PM
I've always thought that technology will lead us into becoming cyborgs. We slightly already are with how much we depend on our cell phones. Next our computers are becoming an extension of us and will be so in tune with how we work play and think
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Regulations in crypto market on: June 07, 2019, 08:08:57 AM
We def need some regulations esp if we know there will always be bad actors. I really respect cyber security firms like Ciphertrace and identitymind which are working with exchanges on their compliance and any suspicious movements of money. at least it's a start
69  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: BTC worth $1M confiscated in Canada ruling on: June 07, 2019, 08:04:22 AM
https://micky.com.au/bitcoin-worth-1-million-confiscated-in-canada-over-landmark-ruling/

Bitcoin worth over $1 million has been confiscated by a judge in Canada's Supreme Court. The ruling came after the judge brought CEO of CipherTrace that performs tracing operations on crypto to notice illegal activities where it was indeed found the case was dealing on the dark web with BTC.

“(The case) forced agencies to start thinking about cryptocurrency investigations as a reality more than a possibility.”

thoughts?
This is actually good if we see it in a positive manner. If governments are confident that investigations can be performed upon cryptocurrency cases and the person involved in scam can be proved guilty then governments might even think of making BTC legal in their respective countries. Because Anonymity is a big reason why most of the governments are against this.

However, if we see from one end then this means that BTC was never that anonymous and anyone can be traced out using different types of blockchain explorers and data. Moreover with advent of KYC even people can be identified linked with different addresses.

yep I agree with you. btc has always been a public blockchain which ultimately means with the right technology the addresses can be traced. I am sure it's a lot harder to trace the bitcoins  back to the actual person but it's a possibility? Is that how this guy got found?

Does this have to do with the amount of banking reserves in Switzerland?

I couldn't agree more with you but my question then becomes when BTC is 'confiscated' where does it go? Do we lose it and if so does that affect the entire system as a whole?
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Grin | PoW Mining | Electronic transactions for all. Community driven. on: June 04, 2019, 11:28:02 PM
Will grin have a wallet?
73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stronger AML Enforcement Might Actually Save Crypto on: June 04, 2019, 11:26:18 PM
Having pro crypto cyber security firms like ciphertrace is what we need to help with proper aml
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Uncensorable Websites become Reality? on: May 30, 2019, 09:23:01 PM
I read somewhere that there would be moderators for these sorts of things where they can typically just have a type of democracy to vote out any one they do not agree with and find harmful. Does this still feel centralized?
75  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto thefts, fraud hit $1.2 billion in Q1 report on: May 30, 2019, 09:15:22 PM
Aww i can't  believe  on this big fraud..but may be it is truth.. but now we should take  steps to prevent this fraud.. we must do some precaution for bitcoin scam and for frauds..

I totally agree. Granted Ciphertrace who generated the report is taking the right steps for helping prevent fraud with their technology
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptographic methodologies and tech used on BYTOM on: May 29, 2019, 01:31:38 AM
It doesn't matter if you have the best technology and people are not using it, BYTOm has been in the space for some time but it seems it is going to obscurity, ma be some occasion pump and dump and dump and pump but nothing else, I just don't know how the bagholders fee now

It's interesting it has been one of top 100 on CMC for a while now. People are obviously invested in it... we are just waiting for some use cases
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: GlobalCoin by Facebook - speculation. on: May 28, 2019, 07:47:56 AM
I honestly think this might be quite successful just because of the amount of people who are already using Facebook along with the rest of those apps
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Crime is getting Worse, what do we do? on: May 28, 2019, 07:45:08 AM
There will always be people who will try to steal but if we are able to stop it before the domino effect happens I think this will be huge for the entire community. We need cyber security firms that are able to look at the entire system from a birds eye view so we can take out those bad actors faster
79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How big is the role of the government in the development of Bitcoin? on: May 28, 2019, 07:26:13 AM
I also agree and think that the government will have to play at least some role in the acceptance and adoption of crypto. Whether that is them outright talking about accepting crypto but also their involvement in the protection of funds. There are even third party companies like ciphertrace that have experience and ties to the SEC. I think these pro-crypto companies that the government trusts are going to play a huge role in acceptance
80  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will NBA teams start paying Bitcoin to their players? on: May 28, 2019, 07:10:41 AM
If I were a NBA player I would request to be paid in bitcoin or at least a good portion of it
