61  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Luckynumber.me has holes in their provably fair system, allows for manipulation on: May 01, 2014, 10:40:58 AM
I can change the game type and client seed at my will to at least make sure my bets are fine. Not that I change it every roll, but I frequently change game type so that's also one method.
62  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Luckynumber.me has holes in their provably fair system, allows for manipulation on: May 01, 2014, 09:05:54 AM
In my opinion there is no ideal system for off-chain sites right now, I have voiced my opinion that someone should develop an open-source standard and require all sites to run it to be "provably fair".

Even Stunna is acknowledging that every system has no ideal provably fairness.
New developments have to be made to end this scam accusations that lack insight.
I think this thread is pretty closed then.

I'd agree in saying that each system has its flaws, but the way this site implements it's provably fair allows for a much easier way for rolls to be manipulated, there isn't a 100% sure-fire way to know that your roll hasn't been manipulated. Other sites display a non-changing nonce (displayed before rolls) or an editable field, which as long as we record the nonce or edit our client-seed we can be sure our roll is not manipulated. We can neither edit or be sure of the time that the roll was placed because the time ticks by too quickly and as pointed out by another user, the time isn't even accurate.
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: satoshis seriously, already! its defacto now, forget ubtc and mbtc on: May 01, 2014, 07:47:59 AM
I agree with satoshi as the defacto standard, but maybe under a different name? Would be better for more widespread adoption.
64  Other / Off-topic / Re: Your favorite game on: May 01, 2014, 07:27:05 AM
AOE II is one of my favourites too.

Really enjoy the Assassin's Creed series, PC player though.
65  Economy / Speculation / Re: Interesting times ahead for next 4-8 weeks on: May 01, 2014, 07:23:41 AM
I don't think 100's will happen again any time soon, seems to be a huge amount of buy orders stacking up as the price gets low and just drives the prices back up, stabilizing around the mid 400's each time.
66  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: May Miners Collude to Keep the 25 BTC Reward Indefinitely? on: May 01, 2014, 07:11:47 AM
If the block reward was kept higher, it would likely cause the price to drop, so it's not in the best interest of miners.
We should also see more in transaction fees if the amount of transactions rise over time.
67  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What would you mine with free electricity? on: May 01, 2014, 06:19:25 AM
Probably whatever is most profitable at the time, which would likely be a newer scrypt coin. I'd also exchange whatever was mined to bitcoin though.
68  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Need referral counting ideas on: May 01, 2014, 06:07:39 AM
Depends on your site, if your site is just static content (html files, etc) then it's probably not possible to do it automatically.

If you use a language backend (PHP, ruby, python etc) then you can automate it Smiley!

69  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10,000 within 3 years? on: May 01, 2014, 05:57:27 AM
It has a good chance of hitting that much, hopefully if adoption rates increase.
70  Economy / Speculation / Re: The problems that needs to be solved in order to get new bitcoin adopters on: May 01, 2014, 05:56:05 AM
problem 4: bitcoin is still beta, and too many scammers and hackers around

problem 5: Mt Gox won't be easily forgotten

Problem 5 is getting worst: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=590970.0

I've been told my numerous people that 'the bitcoin' was hacked because of the Mt Gox saga. We need more media positivity.
71  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Need referral counting ideas on: May 01, 2014, 05:45:33 AM
Depending on how your site is designed, you can generate a random code for each user, throw it into a URL ie. yoursite.com/?aff=random-code, when the affiliate user visits that link, set a cookie and wait for them to sign up. When they sign up you can link the two accounts together.
72  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wallet fee? on: May 01, 2014, 05:32:30 AM
I would send the standard fee where possible- if you don't, transactions can take a long time to confirm or may not confirm at all.
73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Is the Bitcoin Complete Privacy/Anarchy Fantasy Dead? on: October 21, 2013, 05:23:24 PM
Months ago it was common to find posts about how Bitcoin was going to turn the financial world upside down, destroying world governments, and finally providing financial freedom to the people.  It was though that the government would not know how to respond to this "world changing technology" and would struggle to fight it until they finally died out.

Now it appears that the day to day use of Bitcoin will be not so different than current systems.

1. Most Bitcoins are bought non-anonymously on exchanges.  When the average person will buy themselves Bitcoins, they will complete AML verifications tying their identity to the coins they purchased.

2. All financial institutions will AML verify even if they were to accept Bitcoin.  Imagine Visa or Paypal begin accepting Bitcoin to pay your credit card bills and make purchases.  People would see this as a massive benefit but how is it much different than we currently have?  All your Bitcoin payments to them will be recorded and able to be subpoenaed by the government at their will.

While I still see Bitcoin as having excellent properties from non-seizability, to being easy and great to use for transactions, does anyone else think some of the ideological ideas of Bitcoin are dying, or at least heavily weakened?
74  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin really any different? Not in the long run. on: October 20, 2013, 04:12:02 PM
Bitcoin is 100% different.  Just because someone could make Shitcoin doesn't make Bitcoin any worse.
75  Economy / Securities / Re: What makes a good Bitcoin security? on: September 20, 2013, 04:08:18 AM
Good idea + transparency + communication = good Bitcoin security

79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Landmark Event For Bitcoin: First Full & Independent Wallet on: September 10, 2013, 11:40:57 PM
Cool stuff.  If fewer people, businesses, and systems rely on the same systems, bitcoin becomes stronger.
80  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crowdfund Homes in Detroit? on: August 08, 2013, 06:47:35 AM
If you have a big plan Detroit could be big money, but looking to buy a $10 house and waiting for someone else to revive Detroit is very risky.
