Block! by sidewinder again Cheesy

Iam very new to this about mining.
But for every block found. You get payout?

Yes, after a block is found, The bitcoin network confirms it over the next 100 blocks. The reward from the block can now be spent -   The pool operator Kano, will then issue the payment to the miners, based on how much they contributed.  The payment is sent with a very low fee.( fee is paid to other miners to conform the transaction)  Right now, there are very few transactions going through bitcoin network, so pretty much anyone will validate that transaction, sometimes when the network is busy, the other pools do not include our transaction in their blocks, ( Becuase the attached fee is so low) so we will confirm our own transaction in the next block we find ( Dec and Jan was pretty bad for this)

Once it is confirmed at 100 blocks, the payment is sent, and each miner gets their share.  This is done for each block that this pool finds.

The 5Nd ramp that everyone has to go through is basically you get paid based on the amount of shares submitted in the past 5 times the difficulty ( number of shares)  so right now it is about 10 days.  This gets shorter when the pool is bigger. and longer when the pool is smaller, or when difficulty goes up.   You get paid for all the shares, but they are delayed.  This prevents pool hopping.   On the flip side, if you ever stop mining, you will still get paid for the ramp down for the same reasons ( but declining )  If you lose internet connection for a bit, it doesnt really affect your earnings as much, becuase it is the average over the past 5Nd not just that last hour or so like other pools use.

After I crawled back form the snake pit, I am still ramping up and I still made more than at that "other place" while I was there for a bit.

Worked out to 0.00123129 per day per s9 (13.5th).  This was since March 21 started ramping up again from 0.   Wish I stayed.. Could of been rolling in the coin.  BUT the good luck has taken that edge off the ramp up for me.

A Block a day keeps the gynecologist away!

Anyone know what Sidewinder is running?  S9's or Avalons?    Hamsters on wheels?
64  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [110+PH] KanoPool kano.is 10 BTC giveaway 🐈 on: March 30, 2018, 02:24:41 AM
wowow sidewinder give me your secret  Huh Grin

48.3 TH  I think thats about 3580 S9's and a really big extension cord!

Thats what it takes!

Mine can only power the lawn mower :-)

If we can keep all blocks Sub - 50 %  I would be happy!  Our block stats look like a nice green forest.  Except for that one dead 190 % Spruce.

66  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [110+PH] KanoPool kano.is 10 BTC giveaway 🐈 on: March 29, 2018, 05:33:16 PM
I don't know why, but it stuck in my mind when we had 1444 users on the pool before. We were at ~40PH.   It looks a little different today.   Cheesy

Be patient ... and MINE ON!!!
It was around there. But I guess the guys now that has 1 Th or so probably have only a bread crumb.    But.. a mouse could survive on bread crumbs.
67  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [105+PH] KanoPool kano.is 10 BTC giveaway 🐈 on: March 29, 2018, 06:17:34 AM
Well, at least it was less than 200%  :-P

I was yelling at Amazon for thier dumb website...

Add a few things to your cart, on the last item, click proceed to checkout, pick address, credit card, then you are presented with PLACE ORDER and your items in the cart, but you CANNOT click on the items to read the descriptions to make sure that was the best one you found out of the millions of the same items.  Sorry, i know, off topic, but  THAT is what has to be done.

Yell at amazon for a block!

Note:  Kano, maybe change from 95+ to 100+ PH  :-P   Just saying...  or even 105 PH+
68  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [95+PH] KanoPool kano.is 10 BTC giveaway 🐈 on: March 28, 2018, 07:17:13 PM
I tried to use my 450 dollar coupon on a V9, but the minimum order Quantity was 5  Guess no free V9 for me!
Even for free, the V9 would not be worth it (unless you have free electricity).

Edit: Still wouldn't be worth it - forgot about the shipping + import tax that you'll be hit with.

Yeah.  I have enough coupons I could buy some for $16, but likely they will charge $70+ for shipping.  Almost afraid to order anything in fear they will jack their per-unit shipping up to $100+...

Suppose, for the good of the community, I should check that out.  Will report back.

They said their shipping rates have gone down.  I also have only ever paid the 5% GST tax.  I have never been charged any Duty, even the time I went into the Customs office myself to declare the one high value shipment.  I always used DHL, never any duty, just $14.00 cnd for fee and whatever the 5% tax is.  Yet, everyone complains about UPS.. umm yeah.. Its UPS they have been doing that for decades.
69  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [95+PH] KanoPool kano.is 10 BTC giveaway 🐈 on: March 28, 2018, 06:39:01 PM
My bet is that it will be after the coupons expire, June 30.
Hate them, always up to some no good tactic.
I paid for an L3 on Dec 3, Supposed to be shipped in march as batch 1, they locked me out of my account, shipped a bunch of L3's batch 1 and 2, then finally unlocked my account, then said oh sorry, and shipped mine as batch 3.  Good thing I sold it for about 100 cnd less than what I paid, becuase now they are only 855 USD ( about 1100cnd)   Iw ould of lost 1000 more if I didn't find that sucker to buy that thing. :-)

Oh well.  I guess something big is going to happen, we will just have to wait and see.

I tried to use my 450 dollar coupon on a V9, but the minimum order Quantity was 5  Guess no free V9 for me!

Wow, free coupons for Bitmain..  Wonder what they have in store for tricks these days.   S9 prices are down so much that with the coupon its sub 1000 dollars for an S9.   I got a 350 USD coupon, but they are also giving out 450 USD coupons.  Looks like they are either VERY sorry their screwed people over on the high prices and are giving it back to them to entice them to buy the last bit of stock before a new model is released to make the S9 not as effective..

I dunno..  I'm going to bug them for more coupons, I have 5 i bought from them direct but they gave me one coupon.
71  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [95+PH] KanoPool kano.is 10 BTC giveaway 🐈 on: March 27, 2018, 08:08:29 AM
Here is the answer I was kind of looking for...  well, it could of been simplified... :-)

"You might think that the width of the equator is zero, which it is at any given instant. Averaged over time, however, it is about 9 metres because that is the variation of the ‘Chandler wobble’, which is a slight oscillation in the Earth’s spin axis. This is thought to be mainly caused by differential seasonal air pressures which piles the ocean up in different parts of the planet on a seasonal basis. It is possible that some of the Chandler wobble could be caused by slight differential rotation between the Earth’s core and mantle. Plate tectonics may also have a contributory effect."

I Go to sleep now, and expect a Block when I wake up.   IN MY NAME!!!   Oh that would be so funny if I found a block......  Crossing fingers....
72  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [95+PH] KanoPool kano.is 10 BTC giveaway 🐈 on: March 27, 2018, 12:32:23 AM
Well, the time has come and gone.. and I did not even receive one response to my trivia...  so I guess no winners...  I guess I declare my self the winner since I know the answer and the S9 is already hashing on my username. :-)

Maybe my question was too hard to find an answer?
73  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [95+PH] KanoPool kano.is 10 BTC giveaway 🐈 on: March 26, 2018, 07:20:30 PM

I mean, I'm just happy that, in my opinion, one of the best people in crypto not only acknowledged the block i solved for the pool, but wants to compensate me for my AwesomeMiner purchase because i love the software, and he wrote the API.

that's the special part to me.

You think Marek "Slush" Palatinus would show up in his forums as much as Kano does? even when he did run the pool i doubt he was in the bitcointalk forums for his pool at about 2% the frequency Kano is. (which also happens to be the outrageous fee he/they charge to mine on that pool).

I thought i was savvy by mining with slush when i first got the antminers because i used to mine hundreds of coins there in late 2010. I spent far too long mining on the wrong pool.

EDIT: I'm not here to slam other pools, but the numbers speak for themselves Wink

But I bought awesome miner too!!!  :-)     And I am not talking about myself... :-P  I mean the actual software... bought it...

Actually the support on awesome miner is like that of Kano,  Sent an email about support for the A3 when it came out, and it was fixed within like a day or two and a new version released.  Maybe Kano is Mr Awesome Miner too? :-)

JUST A REMINDER  - Becuase I have not got one single answer sent to me.....  Sad

The LITTLE guy Hash Give away...

The Prize - 24 Hrs of free hashing power from one of my S9's on your username.

The Criteria:
   1. You have to be a new miner ramping up still.
   2. Your hash rate has to be at 2 Th/s or less
   3. Answer the skill testing question by the deadline by Private messsage to me.
   4. You have to commit to telling 2 people about the pool at some point in the near future. ( Karma is a Biatch ) :-)

Deadline is 00:00:00 UTC March 27  - Mar 26 17:00 Mountain Time
This date chosen since this will mark 3 months of Mining for me ( with multiple S9's, I hade one since Nov 21)

The skill testing question is:   What is the width of the equator?  What causes the width.  Hint: Friends

PM Me your answers.

I will pick someone with a valid answers at random, and then contact them to arrange pointing one of my S9's to thier user name so that they will be ramped up in that day instead of waiting the full ~10 days.

And for legal reasons:

This is just for fun, dont get mad if you dont win, its all for fun, There is no warranty, no liability etc...  JUST FOR FUN!  I'm hoping more of the smaller miners go buy S9's.
75  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [95+PH] KanoPool kano.is 10 BTC giveaway 🐈 on: March 26, 2018, 02:35:58 AM
Just think how many times the Courier was at his place....  Please sign here, and here, and here... and here.....  and here..........
I'd love to ask him what the electrical bill is in a month.

Thats about 3110 S9's @ 1100 kWh per month = 3 421 000 kWh   at my rates thatw ould be about 240 000.00 a month.

But then at 40 % of each block reward... 5.2 BTC per block  thats only 4 or 5 blocks to be found to pay for the electricity...

OK, SO the math works, Lets the rest of us buy more S9's!

But how many of them Bitcoin USB sticks would that be?  Maybe Kano is bringing out his old collection of them? :-)

Hey Listen to that.....

Is that echoing in the valley from the last block cracking, or is that another one I hear starting to crack?
77  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [85+PH] KanoPool kano.is 10 BTC giveaway 🐈 on: March 25, 2018, 08:25:16 PM
BLOOOOCCKIES!!!!!!
8 seconds or so ago!!!  YAY!!!

HAHA  I beat all of you I was the first to post it!
 :-)

If this were Golf, we would be doing good!  Always Less than Par 100%

A Block a day keeps the other pools at bay!
78  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [85+PH] KanoPool kano.is 10 BTC giveaway 🐈 on: March 25, 2018, 03:48:30 AM
Well its been about 12 hours, Looks like its time for another block.  I didn't win the lottery on yesterdays draw, so a block would be nice.
I'd go make sime chicken, but I just started renovations on my kitchen....  fridge in dining room, stove in living room, dishwasher at front door.  Plates, pots and pans in closet.  Its messed up.  But not as much as having to get water out of the bathroom sink to use on the hotplate I bought and put in the spare room as my makeshift kitchen!

Ok, i'll go to Wendy's and get a Spicy Asiago Chicken burger... and keep my dignity :-)  haha
its going to be like 3 or 4 weeks without a kitchen! ugg

Yeah, I kinda was thinking its hard to get a right number.  It wasn't really that important for what I wanted to do.

I never liked math.. so can someone figure out this....

At what hash rate would you have to be at to be fully ramped up if you all of the sudden had 13.5TH for 1 full day?  IE  it takes say 10 days to ramp up, so my estmiation is that one would need 1 day at 13.5 TH to average out as 1.3 TH for the 10 days?

Another way of asking this is, at what hash rate would a user have to be at to fully benifit from 1 day of a 13.5th S9 so they would be considered to be ramped up.

Ignoring how many days they are ramped up, assuming a new user just starting out.

I think my 1.3 or even 1.5 TH user would fit this criteria?
