61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is $30 dollars worth starting bitcoin? on: April 20, 2023, 06:03:56 AM
People do not actually "invest" in Bitcoin.... but they rather buy some Bitcoin to "use" or to hoard until the price increase and then to sell at a profit. It is a lot like "cash" ...with the difference that it is not widely accepted yet, but that can change soon.

You can buy any amount of Bitcoin, depending on what exchange you use, because many of these exchanges have minimum deposit limits, but if you can buy from someone else, then you can basically buy $1 worth of Bitcoin.... but the fees will not make it worth it. (If you want to buy lower amounts, I will suggest that you use the Lightning Network)  Wink

You still might call that investment, it mostly depends on what exactly a person wants to do with Bitcoin. Especially if, as you said, to sell it at a profit.
62  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin is Speculation & Gambling" - Warren Buffett Critisize on: April 15, 2023, 07:42:47 AM
Another old man yells at cloud once again, nothing new here. We don't care about what he says anyway, Bitcoin wasn't meant for him in the first place I think.
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you consider yourself as a risk taker if you buy bitcoin? on: April 11, 2023, 05:44:32 AM
~snip~
Even if we are willing to lose and do not expect to receive any reward when investing, it also means that we have accepted the risk as freely as possible. Investing in bitcoin meant we took the risk, but given what bitcoin can give us, I think our risk is well worth it.

There is no such thing as a completely safe investment in this world, it's just more or less risky, and bitcoin is one of the riskiest investments compared to traditional investments. But high risk brings high returns, so if someone is willing to step out of their comfort zone and take the risk, they will succeed faster than others.

I think that's one of the big advantages of Bitcoin, that you can, since the beginning, simply risk a portion of your time/money/resources to it, and see how it will go.

Probably it's not as high risk now as it was in the beginning, but for some people it is still seen as high risk.

It's still a pretty high risk. However, keeping your money in fiat or in stocks is a risk too, it's all just a different kind of risk. And it's different for everyone not only based on salary, but on country, job, etc.
64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What have you got rid of to accumulate Bitcoin on: March 31, 2023, 08:20:46 AM
I never got rid of anything to buy Bitcoin, lol. I wouldn't sell a house or a car if I had one just to buy Bitcoin. I'm sure we'll see at least $100K, but when - no one knows.
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Given an option between Bitcoin and Fiat which do you prefer? on: March 22, 2023, 01:13:49 PM
I will choose both for now because I can support myself and my family with fiat, while with bitcoin, I can have additional investments in crypto.
It will complete my life to prepare my future better.
And I haven't imagined using bitcoin for everyday life because not all online or offline stores are willing to accept payments using bitcoin while they still use fiat.
And I also don't know how long it will be until bitcoin can be accepted as legal tender worldwide because it depends on the policies of each government.
Therefore, I chose both rather than just choosing a fiat because by owning both, I believe that my life will be better in the future.

True. Most of us can't use Bitcoin directly anyway in our countries I think. It's possible to buy something only maybe, but not food or clothes. Even if you get only Bitcoin you need to withdraw it to use.
66  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel when people tells their story on bitcoin on: March 14, 2023, 02:30:42 PM
I'm a little bit envious, but people make fortune not only with Bitcoin and there are a lot more successful people than me. I'm just trying to mind my own business and make my own fortune.
67  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Ponzi Schemes - People are confused. on: March 09, 2023, 10:02:34 AM
I personally think Bitcoin is just like paper currency used as a transaction tool.  The scams and fraud that occur in a Ponzi scheme actually have nothing to do with Bitcoin.  But as we already know, Cryptocurrencies are anonymous where all forms of transactions are decentralized.  I'm currently educating people on how to use Bitcoin or other altcoins properly and how to avoid being scammed by bad people using cryptocurrencies.

True, scams were performed for centuries and crypto is not s course of the problem, just a tool. To be honest, it's hard for me to understand how people fall for those scams, because it's not about crypto knowledge, it's all just about common sense. Someone tells them to send them money and people just do that, like, what the hell.
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana was recently down, again! on: February 28, 2023, 07:53:02 AM
I like that we have a thread about LTC that hasn't been down for 11 years. But somehow SOL is in the top 10, and LTC is not...
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have bitcoin, what do you guys recommend I buy as well on: February 24, 2023, 07:09:27 AM
There are too many options to recommend, to be honest. Ethereum comes first to mind, all other coins are harder to recommend, I'd suggest you to make your own research.
70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It is ok to sell your Bitcoin. on: February 15, 2023, 06:58:00 AM
YOLO, man! HODL that Bitcoin! Why spend it now when you can be a Bitcoin millionaire tomorrow? Or the day after tomorrow? Or maybe next week? The crypto gods will smile upon us, my friend! To the moon! 🚀

Well, that's true. But I think every person can, or at least should make his own decisions about finances. We may never know why exactly did he or didn't do something, it's not for us to judge.
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do You trust Tether (USDT) Stablecoin? on: February 09, 2023, 01:09:42 PM
Nope, you can see how their activity.
1. They can freeze your fund
2. Their asset backup actually not 100%
3. There has some case the value it's not 1$ a couple time, based on the time history chart.

So, with that reason. I think everyone are advising people to not holding your asset into "USDT" with a long term.

I don't think many people are using it for holding. It's a stablecoin, mostly it's used just to send money. I'm using it for about 2 years now, and never had any issues. Never heard if they froze someone's wallet for no reason.
