If you're still accepting testers, I would love to try it on a few 7950s. I do believe you said it may work on older cards.

65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The real reason American government hates Bitcoin on: March 30, 2014, 04:41:55 PM
They cannot print "In God We Trust" on bitcoins.

Why is it "hip" to be anti-God?  Or snarky about the God topic.  That has always seemed lame to me.  Focus on assholes or something instead.  Plenty of those to go around.

-B-

I think it's because people get sick of having religion imposed on them, and enjoy pushing their views instead. I've been an atheist most of my life, always left the bible beaters alone. But as I see more and more of their anti-science BS being pushed on all of us, I've got to admit I'm starting to enjoy pointing out the fact that their religion is nothing but a fairy tale, and not even a good one at that.
66  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ASICs are good and more centralisation is inevitable on: March 28, 2014, 01:22:06 AM
The network hashrate has absolutly nothing to do with the network security.

Now that is just adorable.

If you consider things carefully, you will quickly realize that ASICs do not make the network any more secure. Yes, it's quite true that they do allow the "good guys" to have a much higher hash rate by purchasing them. On the surface, this probably seems like it makes the network more secure. But there is a problem. The "bad guys" are able to purchase the same ASICs as the "good guys". They would be attacking with weapons of the same strength, security is not affected by whether we use ASICs, CPUs, or GPU's. Everybody has the ability to purchase the same devices, therefore the relative numbers don't really change, only the absolutes.

Let me give you a small analogy. You'll just formed a small country, and you have to defend it from intruders. No weapons have been invented yet, all you have to fight with is your fists, this is also the only weapon your enemy has. Okay, so now clubs get invented, you get all your people armed with clubs now so that your nation will be more secure. Here comes your enemy to invade, seems they've got some nice clubs too. Well, it seems like your security is not much better than it was before, doesn't it. Well, you just heard some encouraging news. Somebody is just invented a much more powerful weapon called a gun, get a few of these and those club wielding invaders won't have a chance. So you get yourself armed with these new guns, you feel very safe. Then the enemy invader show up again, they don't seem to have any clubs with them, what do you suppose they are carrying?

You understand the point of this little story? As long as the same technology is available to all sides, nobody gets an advantage. This is exactly how ASICs "improve" network security.
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Largest $ Monetary TWEET in History Happened Yesterday with Cryptocurrency on: March 16, 2014, 04:24:40 PM

It's interesting to see that something good for ALL crypto is met with such hatred.

To some, ANYTHING related to DOGE is automatically evil. It's kinda like how a Klansman views a black man. 100% prejudice and 0% intelligence. Sadly the world of crypto is not entirely an enlightened one.

68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It has begun http://bitcoinscrypt.org/ on: March 11, 2014, 09:56:54 PM
Bitcoin is good. Scrypt is good. Bitcoin scrypt is bullshit. Bitcoin does not use scrypt.

I've got no problem with alts in general (check the sig), but this just seems wrong. It's clearly trying to pass itself off as some kind of bitcoin 2.0, instead of the unrelated alt that it is.

70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: dogecoin LIED and created the illusion of popularity when no-one liked it on: February 25, 2014, 06:39:42 AM
Ok I just scanned the blockchain myself. It looks like you're right 3 days over 3B were mined (not 12B). I stand by my statement though that this is a huge number in a short time. The noobs sadly were suckered thinking 100k coin for <1BTC was a good deal.

About the 66 days thing @ 50B coin, I understand this is >50% of the total supply. That's kind of scary as well. Not sure where dogecoin is going w/ the rapid ramp.

The extremely rapid ramp is my biggest concern for DOGEs survival. Miners will leave with each halving, leaving DOGE open for a 51% attack. And there are plenty of haters to do the attack. Also I'm sure at least a few real scumbags out there who would do it for financial gain. The weak development(?) team doesn't really help.

Still I wish the dog much success. Nobody has created brilliance out of stupidity this well since Monty Python.

So you know this is what DOGE did? Show us your evidence. Otherwise I'll just regard you the same way I regard 9/11 conspiracy types, as a headcase off your meds.

Seriously, why are DOGE haters such a rabid bunch.

Such insane. Much mental. Very need thorazine. Wow!

seen this other day and i thought, of course he did.. he would have been dumb to accept the investment..
he would have no way to pay it back after he lost it.. the coin is dead and no half million investment will change that.
unless of course they supplement the difficulty increasing and mining revenue getting lower and lower by handing out bribes to people to mine it lol

should we even believe this crap anyway ? ever heard of market manipulation or bias ?
Does the guy / firm offering to invest currently sit on half a billion coins or something ?

what ever.... bs scam coin is bs

Wow, Spoetnik, you don't like DOGE? I'm shocked to learn this. Always thought you were a true fanboy Grin

Seriously, DOGE is dead? Since when? Based on what measure of life? It's still being traded, still a little more profitable to mine than LTC, and way more profitable than BTC, where you'll never reach ROI on those damn ASICs.

Some of the points you make are true, no innovation, amateur developers, etc. But the way you foam at the mouth like a rabid dog(e?) makes it hard to take you seriously. Maybe you should relax and enjoy a few beers? Gonna try that myself Smiley

78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin almost hit new record :) on: February 12, 2014, 04:36:12 AM
Quit hating and start buying. Technology differentiation is so 1980, today it is about marketing, and branding, and community, and fun. So quit being so mad that Litecoin and Bitcoin are so dang boring and geeky and move everything into DOGE so you don't jump out of a window in a year as you look back on what might have been.

One final point and i mean this completely, TECHNOLOGY IS NOT THE HARD PART (ESPECIALLY SINCE OPEN SOURCE MEANS YOU CAN STEAL IT), COMMUNITY IS WHAT IS HARD, community is like trying to catch lightening, screw tech and get on board now....

Wow, you made the point much better than me. Very Talent. Such true.

Ed
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin almost hit new record :) on: February 12, 2014, 04:23:23 AM
I dont hate. I hate the hype. I hate the community. Doge supporters think Doge is the next coming of sliced bread. WTF new does it bring to the table? Nothing. Nada, cept some good marketing to get more newbs involved. You all think this is innovation, but that could have fucken been done with ANY coin.

Look, if you all were not such arrogant assholes and do something else beside brag.... I may have giving this coin a second look, but nope. I will not ever mine this coin even if the profits are 500K% more than mining BTC...

Anyone who thinks this will become main stream with quotes like "much wow" ect... your fooling your self. Thats something a 2 yo would say. Honestly, if it was not for the cute little phrases I doubt anyone would have gave this a second look.

Yes, good marketing to get noobs involved. And a cute mascot. And totally stupid phrases which for some reason I find entertaining.

True any coin could have done this, but they didn't. Introducing lots of new people to crypto is good, especially when it spreads outside the ubergeek community that most of us are in. I think the stupid part helps this. Average people understand cute dogs and stupid memes. They don't understand blockchains, sha-WTF, scrypt (for a movie?), etc. But they greatly outnumber the geeks.

Doge won't be accepted because it's stupid? You kidding? If it can be traded for fiat and many people are trying to spend it, businesses will start to accept it, as they are BTC. I'm not saying Doge will be #1, or that 1 Doge will even be worth a Satoshi in a year, just saying it's probably smart to stop laughing at it. The Doge just might bite you. And putting down the users is not good. You're showing them that people in the crypto community are elitist assholes that they don't want to associate with. Wrong. Make them feel welcome, our community will grow.

I'm off to pet the Doge...

The 600 with LTC is a totally different quantity. It's 600K vs 300M. 600K on scrypt is actually pretty poor for a 7950, with proper overclocking and the optimized kernal by Lantis I get 670-705, depending on how high I can clock each card.
