Btw my weight is now saying 17158 Network is 26394. So I now have over half the network rate. Still only have the 1 stake from yesterday. Does that seem right to you?

EDIT: Seems good to me... and yes smaller blocks is better for the network, not so good for you, you'll get less coins and won't stake as easily.
that is perfectly fine, I have now 22.5k vs. network's 20k and still didn't get my stake. It will come soon, though.
Also important note to what has already been said. You start staking and you wait for the first stake to mature. Then it halves and you have two smaller (half of the original) stakes maturing, etc. So the whole process in the beginning may take some time to take off (your case), but then it gets quicker with more stakes competing.

Okay fury muff, but how can you have more weight than the network... This part I don't really get, I would have thought the network weight is all our weight combined no? Much like the network hashrate on pow... Or is this not the case...

I fully get the maturing and stake splitting etc.

EDIT: Now the wallet has gone out of sync for no reason. Weird...

I know it is implemented, I also know how to activate it, I was asking if others knew about it and whether they are using it etc... But thanks for digging out the guide for other people. Its a decent read for sure.

Ah, sorry, I misread that Smiley

Anyway the short version of coin control is: Coins get fragmented over time, so at some point it makes sense to consolidate them (i.e. choose a number of small amounts and send them to yourself as one bigger chunk). Coin control also has the benefit that you can choose exactly which coins to send, which means you can only use "newer" coins and leave the coins with a high coin age untouched.

Yeah I know XD, I read the hobonickels wiki and I have had a play with it some... It is a nice feature though I think it needs to be worked on ... Maybe there could be the option to auto consolidate and maybe when you send coins it takes the newest coins first.

EDIT: BTW the "blocks" fragment because it needs to kill the age of the coins... So to do that it splits the blocks in half after you stake... They will keep on splitting and this is why eventually you'll end up with hundreds or even thousands of blocks. As the hobonickels wiki says at this point it could affect wallet perfomance. So it is pretty essential everyone understands it and uses it at some point.

Btw you guys read up on "coin control"? If not you should check it out, we'll need to use it at some point to consolidate blocks. Hobonickels has a good wiki for their POS and they talk about coin control in there. As Im on my phone it is too much of a chore to get the link but google will find it. Smiley

Coin control is already implemented (activate it in settings -> options -> display).

I just tried it out to consolidate 26 tiny amounts into 2 larger ones, works perfectly fine. But I agree, the Hobonickels writeup is good:

Well I understand POS pretty well as it goes, I'm looking to put it into Netcoin... Not quite sure why you are being so condecending... Merely pointing out I feel something is wrong... I have already said that I get the fluctuations... What you on about with the quoting? I quote so people know who I am talking to... How is it not relevent? Strange...
Min stake age 3 hours, maximum 30 days. Everything in between - fine.
Please check your weight in comparison to the network weight to see when your chances of generating coins are getting bigger.
And, yes timing estimate is not yet working as intended - this will improve as the network grows bigger.

PS. and yes, for making the reading of the topic easier for everyone, please just quote the msg you are responding to. Otherwise that unnecessary inflates the topic and makes your answer harder to find - not all people are using PCs/laptops to read this forum. EOT.

I am on my phone right now! XD It isn't my fault that btctalk quotes work in this way and no when on my phone I wont be deleting the unwanted quotes... Maybe talk to btctalk to change their quoting method?

Yes I see that, I am going off what other are saying, how they get multiple stakes a day... I have 1 and it has been over 24 hours now, yes it could be variance but I did notice that this morning my weight was above that of the network which ran alarm bells as I saw that on the 1.5.0 build...

Hopefully in time the issues do resolve themselves. At the end of the day I have some of these coins so I want it to work and to do well so...

EDIT: And again if the time to stake isn't working then not my fault again, is it? And I can only go by other peoples experience to see if my staking is behind or what... Going by my friend and others in here I should have 3 stakes maybe, I have 1 so... I think though that even if your stake is late you get more coins to compensate, not 100% about that though...

EDIT: Right now the client is reporting that I have nearly half the network rate. My weight is 16330 Network weight is 36920.

How often SHOULD you stake though, out of curiosity, and why are there only 4 connections?

please do not cite 75 messages above you, if they are not relevant.
I have 8 connections to the network atm, that may change (I saw values from 4 to Cool, the more people have their wallets open the better.
As for staking - please read the first page once again to understand what is the minimum age for minting and check PoS wiki to understand that there are some fluctuations.

EDIT: Ahhhh I get your problem with the quote, because it referred to the guy that got multiple giveaways and dumped em... Mate I was replying to a comment I had... It IS relevent and it has sod all to do with you anyway :p

Hey guys, just poppin in to let you know I got my coins so thanks for that... You seen this?

https://sharexcoin.com/market/KTK_BTC

someone has a 120k sell order... Hmmmm multiple accounts by any chance? Funny how it equals 4 shares of 30k XD

Tell you what, some cheeky beggers about! XD

Well anyway it seems that some are just trying to get small buck for free, but they don't understand if all of them kept coins for longer price was going to be bigger, well their loss

Well it was free for em huh... They got at least 4 lots and dump em for quick easy cash... I'm not so sure these type of giveaways work out so well. I have no doubt though after the initial dump that the price will stabalize and do pretty well.

They need to sort the wallet though, looks broken to me... And yes I updated to 1.5.1, still seems broken... Sad

Wallet works for me, staking is fine, the time to next stake is a little off, but that could be because the network is a little slow at the mo

Hey dude how you doing? How often do you stake on average? I have only 1 stake so far...

Very well my man, very well. I leave my wallet open 24/7 and stake a few times a day, but I have had some small ins and outs. It's usually about 3am U.K time.

If you can leave your wallet open and sell some of your net to buy a few more Wink

Well you HAVE to leave your wallet open if you want to stake, I have left it open all night and it is now 3pm... Nothing, I only got my 1 stake and that was early evening yesterday...

Sell my NET? You crazy? XD Net is going POS! Wink

Can you explain what part? My wallet seems to be running okay. If you have anything, let the dev know and I'm sure he will jump right onto it for a fix! Smiley

Well I didn't study too close but yesterday I was on the old wallet so I didn't get any stake and it was reporting that I had weight above the entire network XD... So my friend told me about the upgrade... After upgrading I got my stake within minutes. Not got 1 since, been well ovet 12 hours... This morning I notice my weight above the network rate again and it was saying 18 seconds to stake, yeah right XD I look a little while later and it's saying an hour... Look again a little while later 1 minute... Now I understand that the time is an estimate and that it fluctuates. But something doesn't seem right...

Also for a POS the connections look weak, I have 4 I think...

Any news on the conversion front? XD

Not yet. Been busy in some orders and projects. Will surely let you know once I am offering that service.

Okay cool cool, just to let you know I am still looking, so if you can do something let me know and we can discuss what we would like. Not sure exactly what is possible at the minute but we have some ideas about what we would like.

PM me the details.
cool thanks, PM sent.

Hi there, can you also alter coins? Like could you convert an existing coin that is say POW to POS only? Or add POS to POW? To be clear, the coin that I want to alter is out and trading and has been for some time, we're seeing if we can change it up and add pos, or maybe even go POS only.

Can you do this and how much would you charge? Thanks in advance.

Can't do that for now. Will surely provide this service in coming days.

Okay, well I wasn't meaning this second but it is great that you could do such a thing. Smiley

I am asking around elsewhere of course but if you would like the job you can contact me here or on skype meee.meee21 anytime you like. I'll let you know if we still need it doing. Thanks again

I wouldn't recommend putting your Skype out in the public.

Yeah I hear you, but it is only for crypto related stuff so no biggy but thank you. Smiley

People can still get your IP though, it's rather easy getting it from a Skype. For instance, I'll PM it to you right now. It only took a few seconds to get. If you didn't register on Skype without a good VPN.

Okay yeah good point, I have edited it out of my posts, would you be so kind to do it to yours too please? Thanks again and good looking out. Smiley

Yeah, and no problem. We Bitcoiners should be looking out for each other. I'll also delete the P.M I sent you out of my Outbox, to ensure you I won't do anything crazy with your IP.

Yeah agreed my friend, nice to see some good folks about. It's very reasuring. Smiley And yeah probably for the best, think I'd better go do the same haha

Btw, as you have been so nice, it's Netcoin, the coin that is going POS. Just to let you know Wink

Aw, thanks for telling me. I'm not really the type fond of using every single Alt-Coin I hear about, but I'm thinking about giving Netcoin a try. Seems like a reasonable coin.

Well thank you very much Smiley We are far from perfect, but our hearts are in the right place and we are doing our best. Have you been on the forum by chance? We made lots of cool little improvements recently, can even play chess there in the thread. haha, Works really well actually, I was really impressed. But yeah I bought the bank back, posting rewards all that and added a ton more.

When we do the POS conversion we'll be sending out a forum newsletter and get the party back into montion. Hopefully you can pop by sometime?
