Jacob, did that main panel you have the R815's powered from trip?  Looks like all your R815's dropped off Loud's pool.  You should ask your electrician for a refund for giving you the ability to run like 720A through a 200A panel!  Wink <3
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Building Cheap Miners : My "Secret" on: August 31, 2018, 10:52:21 PM
With more and more GPUs coming online thanks to the Loud guys adding the algo to xmrig and xmr-stak for GPUs w/ a 3% dev fee, I feel the nethash is going to go up and profitability is going to go down.  Especially when someone I know has gone from 70KH/s to 80KH/s in the last 2 days and has more rigs to throw at it once he finishes accumulating what he wants with XTL.  Wink

I had gotten up to 25KH/s but my vegas aren't reporting anywhere near pool side what they are miner side so I put them back on something else I've been speculating on.  Still #2 after you know who though!  Cheesy

As an aside, I did reach out to the good Doktor from SRBminer and he is looking into adding webchain support for SRB.  That means a well polished miner with only .85% dev fee instead of what the Loud guys did of just adding an algo to a miner and then slapping a 3% dev fee on that.  I actually really don't like what they did.  They opened pandora's box in a way by allowing GPUs to come to the party that was CPU only and they did it not for their own cards (from what I'm aware of they have old GPUs), but did it for that 3% dev fee when they really didn't do much at all.  Oh and that 3% is forced.  You can change it but it will always be 3% and it's binary release only, no source for those of us who can compile and edit out fees.

I'm now on Webchain.  You on Loud's pool as well?  You shunting some AMD cards on it too evidently from what I can see in the discord huh?  Cheesy

My R815's are on LTHN and will remain so except for specific speculative chances.  I've got enough XTL horded away if that ever pops so I'm not too keen on mining that ATM.

I can't wait for the temps to drop.  Shutting down most days for 4 hours due to electrical cost spikes sucks.  Come on end of September!  Cheesy
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Lethean (LTHN): The Safest Way To Be Online. P2P VPN on: August 19, 2018, 03:24:32 PM
While I'm not hot on the Lethean name rebrand or ticker choice (personal preference), I understand the rational behind the name choice so I support it.

This is one of the ONLY projects that I actually have hope for in the CN world.  Just about everything else is a cash grab IMO.  I don't have anywhere near as many coins as Sundownz but I HODL.  Cheesy

It is exactly what you state.

I learned something on Discord today I'd thought I'd share.

I was able to get another 200+ H/s for an additional 8w by changing the p state of the CPU's on the r815's.

https://code.google.com/archive/p/turionpowercontrol/downloads

I am now doing 6400H/s on the 6380s on CNv7 Lite on the machines w/ 1GB UDIMMS and 6550H/s on the machines w/ 4GB Registered memory sticks.

Since this thread is what got me started scaling up I'd figure I'd update as well.  I'm also in TX near Dallas and the heat has been atrocious.  I also suffer from another problem.  I had a fixed rate of 7.9c/kw which I could live with.  My energy provider abruptly exited the market 2 months ago leaving me hanging and with providers of last resort.  After much scrambling I ended up signing up with GoGriddy.  They charge you a $10 monthly fee, direct pass through transmission charges and wholesale electricity cost updated every 5 minutes.  I'm actually saving money... Well I was until this last heat wave hit.  I went from $25/day in juice to $60, consuming about 400kw per day.  I've seen spot rates as high as $3/kw at 4PM when it's 109F out.  So because of this I power down at 1PM and power back up after 6pm.  It's the only choice I have or I'm way upside down on the electricity cost.  The bonus is that outside of these crazy hours, I'm actually paying LESS for electricity than I was because night time hours are under 2c/kw and I pull the same amount of juice at lowest demand as I do at peak.

I've picked up some of the FPGA hardware and am sending it to Mineority for hosting with them.  Their fee is reasonable when you factor in all the additional expenses, not to mention effort, for running rigs.  With a point and click interface I don't know what I'm going to do with myself.  Oh yeah, maybe do something other than constantly babysit machines.  Cheesy

I've also got some Acorns on the way to test with.  I'm seriously looking forward to cooler weather.  Ambient temp forced cooling sucks when it's hot.  (It's actually nice right now at 86F and a nice breeze inside the cointainer lol)  I will continue to mine and at some point probably expand my farm.  I will not expand until I've built and tested an immersion setup.  If I am to host at my current location going forward, I have to implement that as a method to eliminate a host of issues I have faced by converting a shipping container in TX into a location to house electronics running full tilt.

I tried to send 1000 x3c to an stocks.exchange and it's been stuck with 0 confirmations for the last 30 hours.  Everything default except for setting anonymity level to 0.  When browsing in the block explorer it shows over 350 confirmations.  Anyone know what gives?

What hashrate would I get on CN Heavy using an Opteron 6272?  I could have swore I read it in this thread somewhere, but I can’t find it now.  Thanks!

On quad 6380s I only get about 1050 H/s.  A single 6272 I would assume would be 220H/s or so on heavy, perhaps even less.

Truth be told at this point I could care less about the coins.  It cost me $2.50 in electricity to generate.  I appreciate your attempt at helping me with strategies.

However, how the dev acted, it just boggles the mind.  Trusting someone I don't know about someone else on the Internet... Well I just might have some some money in Nigeria, and if you send me your bank account info I will send you money... LOL

Woef.

WTF  I mean seriously.

Oh at least it looks like he commited an update to fix the problem.  I mean look how professional this dude is.  Just check it out!

I mean, not only do you insult the guy who would like you to update something in your product that could help everyone that uses it, you can't even spell MORON right.  This dude is a straight up class act.  I mean, this has legit written ALL OVER IT BRO.  TOO THE MOON.

Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

 Roll Eyes

Perhaps you might find a useful task for me as a paid troll.  I mean there is already one on your staff according to the website and it looks like I might be doing a better job than him.

Of course dude we regret that you lost your 10 K coins...
Remember olivier is alone on the project and he is creating our own exchange from 3 months ago till now.
He will of course fix issues which are on the Github ...

In conclusion, I hope you ll find your lost password, bye

You don't understand the point of my post do you?  A developer should never ever respond in the way he did.  It's simply unprofessional.  If that is how he behaves with such a simple thing...  When all I was doing was asking for him to implement something that would improve his product and possibly save others from my same fate...

And I get "woef"...

How can you substantiate that?  What could you ever say that would make that OK?  That kind of response speaks DIRECTLY to the character of the dev.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] B2B Coin ( B2B ) - POW CryptoNight - Low Supply - No Premine - Exchange on: May 18, 2018, 08:16:51 PM
I have a story to tell that involves the main dev of B2B Coin.  I am bringing this to light because at the end of the day, everyone deserves to know who is really in charge of this project.  I will wait to post my personal thoughts and feelings after I simply cut and paste an unedited conversation between him and I.  I will preface this story with an acknowledgement that I made several errors that resulted in the loss of some coin.  I accept my responsibility in that, I hope what follows justifies this original statement.

So here is my take, or as other's call it, my opinion.  Here is a guy who is the developer for a "Business 2 Business" coin.  On his website, under some funky picture that doesn't look professional at all, he states: "Olivier is a great Devops, Full Stack Engineer. After years of experience in the B2B Business, He finally decided something had to change. Therefore he invented B2B."  So evidently this guy named Olivier has "YEARS" of experience in the Business 2 Business Business?  Really?  What kind of double talk is that?  If you have years of experience, didn't you learn that treating those who are in essence your customers with at least a little bit of respect is the greatest investment you can make?

Now I've been told by many in the past that I can be rude and brash.  I'll concede that point.  However, do you feel my initial statement to the "owner" and "devops" (As an aside, what the fuq is a devops?  Some half breed developer / sys op?  Does this mean you do both functions equally poorly?) as he calls himself was actually rude?  Take it from the context of someone who just lost over 10k coins because of a stupid mistype and the fact I even started my sentence with "Please"...

Here is a "customer" of this developer.  Someone who has decided to use his own energy and devices to further a coin.  Of course, I mined it for my own profit, but regardless, I am also helping Olivier by supporting his network with my hash.  You would think that if someone actually had years of experience in the business world, not even the B2B business world(again wtf double talk?), that they might have learned the simple concept of customer service.  I wasn't there demanding him to refund me the coins I lost.  I accepted they were gone and that there were steps I could have taken to prevent this.  However, the response given to me is absolutely absurd.  Is it professional?  Was it warranted?  All I was seeking was that he would implement something that just about any REAL software has (double password entry for password creation) that would prevent others from having to experience what I just did yet he says I'm barking at him?  WTF?  He was asked about adding this back in February on their telegram and asked the person to add it to the github as a request.  It's there, but here we are 3 months later with no update.

Now, having been in business myself for close to 20 years I'd like to think that I might know a thing or two about customer service.  The first is that even if I don't agree with the customer, I don't spit in their face or insult them.  How hard would it have been for this guy to simply say, "Hey bro, I'm sorry you had that happen to you.  I'm really stressed with a lot of things to do but I will make a real effort to try and implement that as soon as possible."  That's a blowing smoke statement which doesn't concede anything.  It doesn't promise anything.  It simply makes someone who just lost some money maybe feel a little bit better about it.  It might help that person feel that you aren't some idiot dev who got in way over his head and really doesn't have any experience whatsoever to truly accomplish this undertaking, which is what my opinion of Olivier has become.

You know what they call situations as I describe above?  Scams.  The staff of this coin includes a listed troll.  Seriously, his function is being a troll on their telegram, discord, and perhaps here.  What?  Does that lend credence to a real business to business marketplace?

Here is my official take on this.  We have a bunch of stoners (have you seen their pictures? Cheesy) trying to get rich.  Everyone else is doing it, so #metoo.

Who else wants to invest in a coin that will be dead in a year?  #notmetoo!

I'm sure I'll now be banned from their social media outlets for this post but I don't care.  Luckily in the grand scheme of things, losing any amount of something destined to be worth nothing really isn't a loss.

The only problem you will have is that a lot of the things you want to sell, won't.  I've had cartridges on Ebay for months now at the CHEAPEST price of all listed, and I've sold ZERO.   Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Well I do know the 320 GB (80x 4GB) PC3-10660R memory that I got in those five DL580's will sell.

Memory will be the first to go.  Resellers will send you lowball offers.  Wink

It's out now, so.. This is my real secret for mining and why I never scaled cpu hardware... You can buy these and replace your gpus with them. They'll work in risers... I'll never publicly release firmwares like he's doing, but if he's truly going to support it and release his firmwares... This is where the mining is at...

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3459858.0

Be careful, it is possible for someone to create a firmware which would cause the FPGA to be physically destroyed and possibly take the host PC with it.

Funny how you posted this in the "Building Cheap Miners" thread.

"Each VCU1525 card costs $4000, or $32K for the whole rig." they are anything but cheap.

While true, they are the future and I'm speaking with someone right now about investing $50k with me so I can load a bunch up in my farm.

With the new tech coming, everything we have done in this thread is going to be obsolete.  My electricity bill was $1,000 last month.  If I sold all my hardware and only had 8 of those cards I would product 5x as much for 1/10 of the power draw, a much smaller thermal envelope to deal with and a much higher return after ROI.  Efficiency is the name of the game and eventually being cheap just shoots yourself in the foot.
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Building Cheap Miners : My "Secret" on: May 03, 2018, 04:09:46 PM
I will caveat that the box I had running w/ 4 1080s did use 2 PSUs.  I was using risers but but all cards were powered from internal w/ no external PSU and breakout board.  (I raped the SAS connector and used 12v to 5v step downs).

However, due to heat, I have changed that config to pull all cards out of the box along w/ the 2 that weren't in it so that all GPUs are on breakout boards and external supplies.  I never checked power draw though.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Building Cheap Miners : My "Secret" on: May 03, 2018, 02:07:56 AM
I've been running on 1 PSU per box for months now with no issues.
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Building Cheap Miners : My "Secret" on: May 02, 2018, 07:31:04 PM
When I get these on 240 VAC the power supplies can supply 1200 watts each so I will switch to "High Efficiency Mode" which will pull power from only one supply and have the other in redundant very low power mode.

Wouldn't it be better to keep it on balanced and allow your PSUs to be more efficient?

PSUs are normally more efficient running closer to rated capacity...

Miners, it kind of sounds like you are telling the OP what to do with that post even though I think you are pointing it at the guy asking the original question... Cheesy

Sundownz, what is the average payout you are seeing with nemos miner if you don't mind sharing?  I'd like to compare if I can.  ps  Add on FB... Cheesy

Oh and I got my X3 yesterday.  Talk about feeling like I have NH on demand whenever I want it.  This one little box consumes only 550w and puts out over 8x more power than I can produce at 1/25th of the power consumption of the rest of my gear.
