61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: December 15, 2021, 05:53:18 AM
Typically Dash performs poorly leading into December and then in the last week of December starts a big run in the first weeks of the new year.  I am seeing strong masternode accumulation at this present time and I am buying Dash at these levels and will buy more if the price drops a again.  I will sell in the new year for a massive profit, no need to FUD and talk smack of the coin now, check your chart, trade or not, up to you.

You can safely ignore these messages and go ahead and install the wallet just the same.
Clients ask me to install a wallet and buy DASH.
Unfortunately, clients get scared when they see a virus.
Everything is good in Bitcoin and customers are asking to buy BTC.
THINK. This is a problem, solve it !!!

Alexey45, I think you better check your sources, only download from the correct location to avoid malware.

I wrote to you half a month ago and you haven't fixed anything.
The installation files contain VIRUSES!

Alexey45,  nothing will be fixed, because there is nothing to fix, there is no virus in the files downloaded from https://dash.org/downloads/ the reason some virus scanners report torjan or malware in the packages is because they consider mining software to be a trojan, eg in the case of Monero where a website steals cycles from your machine to mine that garbage.  You can safely ignore these messages and go ahead and install the wallet just the same.

That's not selling, it's "brokering". Miners acquire their coin at a cost.

Who do think those costs get passed onto?  The point you make is valid, the MNOs get paid well in excess of their immediate costs, however, this is an advantage because it means they are not forced to sell, they can HODL if they choose and sell later for more.  Miners, OTOH are a constant source of sell pressure because their business is more competitive and thus marginal, they do not have the luxury of holding back coins.

Dash would do well improving the game theory of its network to incentivise holding the coins for longer, if we can delay gratification (selling) we can create a supply void in the short term and help price improve.
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: December 05, 2021, 10:10:12 PM

It's only fair that masternodes should be gifted ever more of the new supply to compensate for their devaluing collateral "network contributions".

It's not about what is fair, I just don't see any better use of those coins, other than paying people to hold them.

You suggest that miners hold coins, but all the on chain evidence is such that miners sell the coins as they arrive.  In Dash we have one trick and that is to incentivise the accumulation of coins by paying the inflation to the buyers, seems like a great idea to me.  Heck, if we look at the 2017 bull run, we can see just how well that trick worked, we took Dash all the way to $1600.  By paying more to the holders, particularly those that make a commitment to Dash, we can once again see steady price improvements.

Descending smoothly.

It'll only take 2 years of masternode rewards to get back to an ROI of zero if you invested $USD 24 hours ago Wink

No worries - just measure your ROI in Dash and you'll get 6% always !

That's a good point, do you think we should allocate more of the block reward to the masternode owners to improve the ROI?
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: November 26, 2021, 12:05:38 PM
There is a lot to unpack here and I don't want to miss the opportunity to talk about DASH clearly one of my favourite assets at the moment.  Grin

SEO-promotion and contextual advertising "Yandex Direct" and "Google Adwords",
Targeted advertising "INSTAGRAM", "FACEBOOK", "VKontakte" and "TikTok".

Make DASH shine everywhere, on all open spaces of the Internet!

Alexey45, Yes!  I am glad you mentioned this.  I wonder, are you aware of the Dash Marketing Hub (DMH)  It is a way that community members with ideas and actions can get involved with marketing Dash!  This is in addition to DCG's marketing which has so far put toppers on ride sharing cars in Miami.  The DMH is a great way for people with ideas on marketing Dash to get paid for doing some work for us!  Please visit https://trello.com/b/kk4LcqJY/dash-marketing-hub to learn more.  In essence you can post a concept to the board, eg Develop a Russian speaking social group which creates youtube videos in Russian and hosts meetups and the like!  This if approved can win you some Dash and if you go ahead and create and grow that group you could claim the bounty too!  Did you know that Dash has several Russian devs?  Dash seems to be generally liked in Russia and I think we can grow awareness there too, can you help?

It is clear that incorrect decisions are being made in some respects.

Masternodes have dropped by more than 200 in three months.

Pang, we had some large elderly whales sell everything recently, it has given price resistance from moving up.  Now for the good news, those old coins which were bought for less than $15 have now got a new price tag on them - $200. The people that bought them value them far more than the sellers did and likely won't sell until profit is reached.  Also, did you know that when nodes sell the ROI in Dash increases?  This means, those masternodes that remain get paid more and this makes buying a Dash Masternode more alluring to people looking to invest in the space.  In other words, Dash is a self rectifying system, this some of the hidden genius of Evan Duffield!

..............
When the crypto winter begins and BTC retreats 50% from its new ATHs, it is very possible that Dash will do it 80%, and that would destroy its budget, and possibly not a handful of programmers will be able to pay. is that what we want?

Actually, this is quite false!  DCG have advised us that they have 12 months of reserve to pay for ALL developers in case of catastrophe.  That means, if price fell to zero and stayed there for 12 months they can pay everyone.  Their current break even price is $140.  Thus, if price falls to $70 and stays there for 2 years, they will be broke.  Now you understand, DCG cannot go broke again, because they have the reserves to see the bear market through.  Good question though !

The graph shows well that the masternode is not profitable. People sell their MN
The bull market happens once every 4 years and everyone wants to earn a lot more than 6%
Make powerful ads! And flew to the moon)

Yes, Alexey45, I see it too, we've had a large holder exit DASH and that caused the sharp dip in the count of masternodes, but what it also did is push up the return (in DASH) for running a masternode and I am very keen to learn at what rate the market sees value in running a masternode again and starts accumulating them creating our next bubble.  Also, Alexey45, take a look at the recent price action, despite heavy masternode selling, did you see the price dip?  No.  Instead it held its ground, this is very bullish, this is showing there is great underlying demand for DASH already and once this big seller is out of the way we could see a breakout.

Where are you all?
Where is the powerful advertising?
Where are the 10,000 posts a day about DASH?
Where is the crazy growth of the coin?
Advertising manager are you sleeping?

Alexey45, those are good questions, are you aware of the Dash Marketing Hub?  It is a grass roots initiative to promote Dash and bring more attention to it, anybody can submit a concept and take a bounty to do some promotion for Dash.  Do you have some ideas?  Are you capable to spread the message of Dash?  Why not take a look at the trello board today !

Dash is a solid Top 100 coin.
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: November 15, 2021, 11:30:39 AM

Is there evidence miners are less likely to hodl than masternode owners? I need to see proof because I smell bullshit

Even if there is it doesn't matter because miners have a transaction on the "buy side" to compensate for their sale. So at worst they're brokers, not sellers. An exchange investor is the ultimate net buyer.

Masternodes however have no such compensating activity on the "buy side". They are net sellers when rewards are realised. The investor who buys their coin ? Their investment capital does not reach the blockchain, it gets diverted into MN pocket never to be seen again by the Dash ecosystem.

This is what eats the marketcap on a chronic basis relative to fully-mined competitors.

This is the sort of twisted logic I've come to expect from governments. Jog on, Toknormal.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: November 09, 2021, 12:07:12 PM
Maybe DASH will get to its ATH but that would be a massive feat.

At the moment, I dont think there is a lot of demand for dash.
But it may change.

Today we reached all the way to $230, it looks like demand is good.  Maybe we can even finish the year at $270, perhaps $330, that would be amazing for us 2022 could be the year some serious gains happen now that old people like Tokenormal and DashAF are gone, new people can finish the job.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: November 08, 2021, 08:00:50 AM

The ones who hold dash should be paid more and the ones who work to earn it less ?

I think so, paying people to hold it is better for the ecosystem than paying the miners to sell it.  All the staking/DeFi coins work like this, DASH is facing headwinds because a lot of early people such as yourself and others cashed out at massive profits after we accidently emitted far too many coins at a zero price.  We've struggled with this fact all the while other issues, eg slow development and various grifts in the DAO soured the mood of a lot of people, but we have begun to stabilise and we should see stronger gains in the coming years, especially with all this adoption we are seeing, DASH is really being used for payments and people just love it!

Miners are paid by outside investors, not some notional "Dash corporation" that you're inventing. They are paid to "secure" that investor's capital in the chain, not to secure the network from hacking. That happens to be a bi-product of the investment mechanism.

No Tok, I really don't see the electric companies and the miner makers such as Bitmain as investors in the DASH network.  For example, the power company doesn't even know what purpose the power is being used for and they don't get the coins.  Paying people to hold allotments of 1000 DASH is the trick we have, it is what pushed DASH to over $1600 once upon a time and into the Top 3 of coins.  I would look to increasing that (staking) reward to help drive more investment into the coin.  I think you must be unfamiliar with DeFi?  You should research it, because that's how that sector exploded, the coins there otherwise have no value and no purpose.
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: November 05, 2021, 11:31:09 PM
Masternodes are extremely greedy and will never part with their percentage of profits.
Everything is bad...

MNOs are paid to hold DASH, reduce that payment and coins will be sold.  Miners are paid to secure the network, however, their importance was reduced somewhat with the advent of LLMQ CL and the fact we are the dominant X11 coin, this means we are able to divert some of their rewards into securing (from selling) the supply.
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: November 01, 2021, 09:17:45 AM

I mean that if for example a person has 1BTC, they will keep 1BTC in their wallet and will change a small portion to Dash just minutes or hours before transforming it into an active purchase through DD.

More research needs to be done into the spending habits of these people to learn if this is correct, or if they do hold over some small balance in DASH, I believe they would, but I am not able to prove it at all.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: November 01, 2021, 04:04:38 AM
No, that is not how it works at all.  To use DASH Direct (DD) you need to have a mobile wallet with some DASH in it.  You have custody of that DASH, when you make a purchase using DD it will instantly deduct a small balance from that wallet, sell it and give you a gift card code instantly.  This may look like selling, but let's do a network UTXO set analysis before DD was launched and now.  Prior to the launch there were X number of mobile wallet installs and X' prime coins in them.  After the launch of DD there are Y wallets installed where Y>X and Y' coins in them where Y' is also > X'.  How is this so? well in order to use DD you need to FIRST buy a bunch of DASH, this is called demand.  Now using DD, sure you sell some, but on balance you maintain some DASH in your wallet for next time and you keep on topping it up.

Let's say that DD currently has 50K American users (I am unsure of the true number) and on average that person keeps 1 DASH in their mobile wallet for spending, then indeed there are now 50K DASH across all those wallets that wasn't there before the launch of DD.  This is what is supporting price and keeping it higher than we would have otherwise expected it.  In fact, refer to https://mnowatch.org/dash-stats/?20211031150015 and look at the severe MN selling, why just this Halloween weekend we sold over 15nodes on Hallow's Eve alone!  Did the price dump?   No!  It pumped!  This is because DASH is more useful now thanks to DD and being bought up ready for purchases later.

Your BTC Gold and DASH Copper is a case of confirmation bias, when the BTC maxis repeat a lie so often "Btc is a store of value" people being to believe it and then rationalise other coins in terms of that lie.  This is the same technique governments use to manipulate people by the way.  So, now you think DASH is copper, more useful than GOLD, but cheaper, however, the analogy is flawed.  The correct analogy is DASH is Bitcoin according to the Bitcoin Whitepaper and Bitcoin is a franken coin subverted and co-opted by the powers that be to suit their own needs divergent from the whitepaper.

The trouble with Dash is it doesn't store value.

The clue is in the name, Digital 'cash'

Cash over long periods of time is not a good store of value.

Dash, great for transactions. Terrible investment.

Here is a quarterly chart of DASH showing it not storing value.

https://www.tradingview.com/x/mhtl0feV/

As you can see, we are moving up and the to the right, the trouble with the market is that it is so greedy that extreme expectations are made of these crypto assets, if this were a stock, you'd be very pleased.

Also note that compared to Bitcoin whose inflation is now a mere 2%, DASH's inflation is still at 6% so it pays to keep your DASH in a masternode or a share of one, this could be another factor for why the price doesn't keep up with Bitcoin.
