Hi, I recently started to invest some amount in altcoins along with my existing Bitcoin investments and the very first thing I realised that tracking the multiple investments was the problem as I rarely buy more than one alt-coin from the single exchange.
I recently came across this portfolio management site and I am impressed with it. How many of you are already using Cryptocompare for tracking your investment portfolio?
They have some additional interesting features like (maintaining sales, risk analysis, advanced chart, accounting etc) and they are going to turn it into paid subscriptions in the coming period.
I am mainly looking to track my long term cold storage investments so I don't think I would need those features as of now or at least in next 2-3 years.
Do you know any better alternative? Please let me know.
I've only used Blockfolio and Delta apps. I will definitely try Cryptocompare from now, looks interesting.

Both Blockfolio and Delta is good apps to track your own portfolio. I've only used those two so far and have no complaints.

I voted, but unfortunately now the results are: Project placed 458th with 9 votes
Yeah the limited marketing we have done so far caught us unprepared for this voting. John1010 surprised us so we thought to give it a try anyway. Out of the 700 or so newsletter subscribers not many seem to bother signing up to KuCoin and vote as of yet. I bet a lot of the top voted projects have people doing multiple KuCoin + Telegram accounts for their votes. If we make it to top 50 we may have an easier time getting a normal paid for KuCoin listing. Your email landed in my spam folder, so maybe the others also didn't see it. I did however see on twitter. I did vote

I am sure there is some legit sellers and buyers there, but like with everything in life you should be careful with who you do business with. Especially online, if they are halfway around the world and scam you. You will never recover your funds even if you have their ID card. Be careful and good luck.

Well with Bitcoin nobody really knows, after the highs of last year a lot of weak hands entered the market. As soon as all of them leave we will rise again.

I'm sure that the bitcoin price does not fall below $5000. This is a psychological level. Large investors will not allow bitcoin lower. And for a price increase, we need an reason. We are all waiting for this reason.
What makes you think that below $5000 is not possible? It is more than possible to even go below $4000. Anything can happen in crypto ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Well yeah, any study can say anything in order to help on side feel like they're going to get what they want. Don't beleive the bullshit and actually think for a second. Do you really think that world governments, multibillion-dollar banks, money transfer services, and so on and so forth are going to allow for Bitcoin (and the rest of Crypto) to go mainstream? Because if you do think this, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. I do hope that this would happen, don't get me wrong. But I'm a realistic thinker, and I know that these groups aren't going to relinquish their control over what they have with ease. They're going to fight for it, and they're going to fight hard for it. I know it won't come easy at all. I think and all countries understnad that and even China and India which are banning them better than others ,they do it just to have time to prepare to that nothing more.
They do this to crack down on something which they think is going to be a problem for their governments in the future -- that's not even a fraction of what they can do to screw crypto. I don’t think so that can happen. Bitcoin becoming mainstream currency implies that it would replace fiat currency. But lets consider the current scenario Some people can never understand how this technology works or how to use it owing to illiteracy factors. The poor people can also not afford to use it as it needs a smartphone and above all there will also be some risk of suffering loss. Moreover Fiat bubble has been so well inculcated in every bit of our economy that it is certainly impossible to ignore this bubble. We need a huge market crash another one like the 2008 which could really open up the eyes of people and make them realize how bad can debt be. I totally agree with you. In my country where there is a lot of poverty people get government grants (and the elderly) that barely keeps them alive. They mostly receive it in their bank acc or can withdraw the cash at certain points like post office. Governments surely will never adopt crypto for things like this. Fiat will always be there. If you try to pay them with Bitcoin they will not even know what it is.

I think people are waiting on the sidelines to see what happens, with regulations and so on. The only ones who dumped their coins is the ones who's in it for moon and lambo's.

I follow "Young and investing" on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCczMw5XzxxVks7sNaC-QxwQ/videos He started the channel when he first got involved with crypto, and every month he shows his portfolio no matter if it's up or down. It's interesting but don't rely too much on youtubers opinions. Listen to others opinions but do your own research.

Any investment will have risk, no matter where you invest. The only thing you can do is do your research and don't be emotional about the investment. To me the word investment implies long term. If you have a look at some of the older coins you will see that they all did grow over lets say two years. Litecoin, Zcash, Monero and so on.

I was invited by a friend of a friend to invest in Bitcoin last year. He told me that if I invest 5000 in our currency it will be doubled in a month's time. He also promised me that I will get referral fees and override from every person I introduced to Bitcoin and that prices of Bitcoin are expected to increase. To make the story short I did not join because I believe its a pyramiding scam. Truth to be told I did my research on Bitcoin after that and it turn's out that Bitcoin's price was really on rise unfortunately I did not invest at that time. Currently I'm learning more thru this forum and I thank my friend for inviting me here. Just last December I heard from one of my friends that the company they joined was in fact a pyramiding scam and the money they invested in just vanished out of thin air together with the people who invited them. We should be wary of people offering investments and opportunities to us. Do your research. Opportunity comes with risks as well as the rewards. If its too good to be true, it might be a scam. Bitcoin is not a SCAM but there are people who uses Bitcoin to SCAM other people. Good luck to us and more power to Bitcoin!
As with any kind of investments you have to do your own research. Good on you that you decided not to invest through a middleman. Better to do it yourself.

I did a quick google search to see if I can spend or pay with bitcoin in my country. I found a great site accepting Bitcoin, and now I just have to try it out. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) I will report back on the experience. This will be my very first time buying something with Bitcoin.

I doubt that any Bitcoins associated with him will ever be sold. To him is was never about the value of a single Bitcoin, or getting rich. Just my opinion.

I can not find anything about the current price of BTC2. I found it just at first, in November of last year its primary price was $ 2999, which then dropped to $ 400. BTC2 does not even exist in CoinMarketCap. Can anyone clarify the situation with the price of BTC2?
You might be confused with a different BTC2. I see there is a Bitcoin Scrypt with same ticker but their website isn't even working. Bitcoin 2 forked on Feb 5.

According to Forbes in January 2018 : If you run an Antminer 24/7 for a year it will produce about 0.85 bitcoins, at a cost of about 15,000 kilowatt hours. Depending on your power prices it will cost anywhere from $600 (at 3 cents per Kwh) to $1,800 (at 9 cents per Kwh) to mine one coin. Even with bitcoin having plunged to $11,600 this morning, there’s still money to be made, assuming you can get your machines cheap enough.
How true this is idk, I've never mined Bitcoin
