Can an AntMiner be used for this?
I think that every ASIC hardware can be used but it needs some additional setup. Here's a guide for CUBE miner, I'm sure you can easily adapt it for Antminer: http://altcoins.com/mediterraneancoin-med-blockerupter-cube-mining.html

Oh, so its not just the little stuff? So this could get as silly as other SHA coins are atm?

When will the multipool port be announced? So we can set up before and let cgminer move to it when it's available...

It doesnt look like you can view individual worker stats at Hashco.ws
I was thinking of setting up a new worker for both hashco.ws (switching) and coinotron (LTC) and having a 7950 pointed to each for a couple days to get a benchmark.

Its still not apples to apples though because it ends up in BTC:LTC which both fluctuate day to day - and I assume Bitcoin mining at 1.2mh/s is completely worthless which is going to show that using a switching pool is a huge advantage.

Im mostly curious about the switching pools vs a regular LTC because LTC pools are still profitable to mine.

I'd be very interested in this. I currently have one 7950 at hashcows and one at middlecoin to see which performs the best and plan to monitor it over the next few days (no doubt loosing a bit of coin, but it should be worth it in the long run)

I have another 7950 but can't fit it on the motherboard without my risers, which haven't arrived yet. When that comes I was planning on pointing that towards wemineltc to compare all three.

What makes you choose coinotron?

Sorry if this is easily obtainable information Tongue but I've checked the FAQ and the rest of the site and can't find the answer.

I know there is a fee for manual pay out, but is there a fee for auto payouts?

Hey, at least it's not a question about low payouts Wink

Cheers,
A

P.S. I know you're busy at the moment but looking forward to a possible API (been reading through a few of these pages) Smiley

Yep. I think bitprice will be the way. Smiley hopefully it'll be up and running by January.

Thanks for the help Smiley

For those wondering, here is the post about the guy who got a £3500 reversal; http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1sglge/the_bank_are_about_to_reverse_my_sale_for_3500/

I might take heed of your advice and just hold for a bit, but first I need to get my rig going... Waiting on my motherboard, should be here tomorrow. Smiley

Thanks for the heads up about bitprice, that looks very nice. I'm eager to see how it goes Smiley do you know the people that are setting it up or just heard about it?

And thanks, Miztaziggy, however I'm looking to sell (once I actually get some) not buy. However, I may buy at a later date. I assume you sell on there? How do you prefer to collect payment? Bank transfer? Had a pleasant experience? Smiley

Hey,

Just getting into the game (been following for a while but never jumped in) and was wondering if any of the UK guys could spread some wisdom on the best way to trade bitcoins for GBP.

I've read a few posts on reddit, here and other forums and the general consensus appears to be to use localbitcoin. Would you guys agree?

However, I was wondering. Is there anything stopping me trading on btc-e or similar for USD and getting that paid directly to a UK bank account? (I realise that I'd get charged for the conversion)

Yeah, localbitcoin tends to have a premium on the cost of coins (which is not bad for a seller, ha) but I've read a few bad things about people getting bank transfers reversed (one guy to the tune of £3500, which was recently)

Just thought I'd put it out there to get some insight into what people tend to do. Also, I've gotta post sometime if I want to get into the other sections Wink

If anyone cares, which you may not. I'm not in it for the get rich quick, I'm planning on keeping my fair share that I get because its a great idea but I would like to recoup the costs of the rig I bought by selling the first few. (I'm mining altcoins with GPUs)

Sorry for the long post Smiley
