61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is The Anything Fundamentally Wrong With EarthCoin? on: December 23, 2013, 08:21:31 AM
Yes, if you don't take objection to the pre-mine, it's a perfectly usable coin.

Your forgot password functionality is not implemented so I'm locked out at the moment. I sent you an email about it. I'd really appreciate if you could look into it.

Thank you.
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Extra flag to exclude core when CPU mining on: December 18, 2013, 06:03:40 AM
When CPU mining alternative coins, what flag do I need to pass to cgminer to use all but one core? I want to avoid using all cores because it would affect my GPU scrypt hash rate. (I'd like to use the CPU to mine a CPU-friendly coin, which is different from what I mine with the GPUs.)
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BillionCoin - Be Billionaire on: December 18, 2013, 05:59:10 AM
Any place to trade BIL? I realize it's brand new so probably not, but I have a few coins (~28000) that I'd like to get rid of (I'm focusing on other coins).
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SBC] From Death Comes Life – The Rebirth of StableCoin - stablecoin.net on: December 03, 2013, 03:37:59 AM
I think they may have axed scrypt mining in the new version of cgminer, so you may want to try an older one. I'm using 3.6.6 with no problem.

This is correct. The last cgminer version with support for GPU is 3.7.2.
77  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone spamming the MtGox userlist with TradeHill referral spam on: June 19, 2011, 11:29:28 PM
I got the same message. This is bona fide spam. It's bulk, unsolicited, and commercial in nature.
78  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help charities start their own mining pool! on: June 11, 2011, 10:37:45 AM
This is a noble idea, but it will probably not work due to the bureaucracy of typical charities.

How about starting a Bitcoin charity which receives donations in bitcoins, and use the resulting dollars to:

  • Promote Bitcoin's adoption
  • Lobby politicians to advance Bitcoin
  • Legal defense fund EFF-style
  • Periodic donations to other reputable charities in USD (the donors cold vote for the charities of their choice among a list)

This would help give Bitcoin a good name and ensure that it stays legal.
79  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Substantially smaller payouts with Slush on: June 11, 2011, 12:43:35 AM
Check your settings/logs?  Are you getting fed data, or are your miners sitting idle?

I believe they are running all the time.

What program/cards/settings do you mine with?

Diablominer with the -v and -w options recommended for 5850 cards, on Windows 7.
80  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Substantially smaller payouts with Slush on: June 11, 2011, 12:31:50 AM
Depends on the pool. I like where I'm at, 2-3 bitcoins /day

Any chance you could PM me the pool?
