61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you ❤️ crypto??? on: February 12, 2018, 08:02:22 PM
Crypto is bringing people from all parts of life together with the same purpose of making the world better for ourselves. Some people want money, some people want to make technology, but working at a crypto has shown me that people of all colors can come together and try to achieve a common goal more than i thought was possible. Some people just don't fit in the corporate world of America, and this gives them a chance to show the skills and talents they do have... Plus anyone can learn to code. Coding really is exciting and helps you understand a lot of the functioning behind what these projects are trying to achieve.. I could go on but.... no. Wink

Well no because somebody will a completely shitty idea could come out looking to get $2-$10 million. While that can help the crypto grow you gotta make sure the team is good, use case is there, and that there is good community. If all these three things are not checked then I am sorry your idea regardless of the raise size will most probably fall flat on its face.

Eyup. I would agree with that. You can never take something so complicated and boil it down to one or two variables. It may help you catch lightning in a bottle once or twice, but i would consider that luck and NOT a system. I'm working for a crypto in ICO phase right now, and have learned that there are a LOT of factors to consider. There are about 200 things that may look small from the outside, but can easily destroy an ICO if not handled correctly... Unfortunately a lot of the success depends on the team and how they interact with each other which the public will never be able to really quantify...

It really is just one of those things that depends on what you are trying to do: how safe you want your assets to be vs how liquid you want them to be.
You keep them in an exchange, you run the risk of the exchange being hacked/the owners of the exchange running off with your money (Mt. Gox) BUT something happens with the price action, you can easily move it around to prevent loss/take advantage of an opportunity
You keep them in a hard wallet for example, you are the only one who has access because you have changed to having physical ownership of your asset BUT if something funky happens with the price action you might miss out trying to get back on an exchange.
My advise, prepare for ALL worst case scenarios. Figure out if something happens, how much are you willing to lose? Do you do a lot of technical analysis where you are spotting a lot of opportunities to begin with? Get your percentages figured out to create a code for yourself, and then stick to that code!
Whatever happens tho, good luck!

I considered doing the exact same thing  Undecided but as some time went by and some corrections started occurring, i found myself very happy that i hadn't done it. Really, passion is something i believe that should develop over some time to make sure it is really a passion and not just like a bottle rocket.. I got really excited about the possibilities of crypto, which turned to the price action, and eventually ended up with me working at a cryptocurrency. It is all so volatile that i feel like unless you don't HAVE to work the best thing to do is start studying crypto on the fringes of your "real" life. start learning to code, start trading a little more, and actually get involved in EVERYTHING crypto has to offer. Price action is so short term, you may look back and realize you learned nothing unless.
Either way, make sure you have some fun along the way and don't stress to much! If you do go all in I want to hear how it went in a year.
