Regarding hearing back from BFL and Cointerra: Part of the answer depends on the "season" you are calling. I was able to get someone on the phone with BFL early on after placing the order, however, I could get no one to return a call or email when it got to crunch time. My experience with Cointerra to this point that been great!, or course they are just now getting into their crunch time, but, of all three companies I have ordered from, I feel best about Cointerra's customer service.
Some companies might just answer phone calls until you order. They are willing to spend the money to have someone answer pre-sales calls, but it might not be worth it for them to pay someone to answer all the calls from people asking when they are getting their miner.

I think I will get 1 or 2 x-3's, but mostly x-1's for me.
I looked up Ethernet patch cables, is there a difference between an Ethernet cable and an Ethernet patch cable?
Most Ethernet cables are patch cables. If it doesn't say crossover cable, its a patch cable.

Oh wow, March or April. I was expecting much later.

I have a bunch of these on order and want to make sure I have all the right stuff to get them to run... I noticed on BA website that they will come with their own power supply, so I do not have to worry about that apart from a power strip or two. I have been looking and found this switch to plug them all into... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003BU0EKW/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B003BU0EKW&linkCode=as2&tag=pck01-20Will the 24 port version of that be good for these? I should be able to plug and play correct? Also does anyone know how I would make or obtain a wireless switch? I would prefer to not have to set these up near my router, and a wireless switch or a way to make that wireless easily would be great! Also, I assume they do not, but does anyone know if these come with Ethernet cables? If I am going to order a switch I would like to just get everything at once. Any Ethernet cable should work correct? Thanks to any answers or help in advance! DebitMe You don't really need a gigabit switch, 100Mbps would be just fine. The switch is unmanaged, so it should just be plug and play. The cables you will need are ethernet patch cables. Also you should consider power usage when shopping for a power strip. You might not be able to run more than 1 or 2 on a single circuit. The 24 port switch is for expansion purposes in the future. But by the sounds of your comments it should be fine. I am unsure what Ethernet patch cables are, time for some google research, lol. The X-1's only use 50 watts of power so I should be able to get a bunch of them per single circuit, unless I am missing something? You'll be fine with X-1's. I wasn't sure if you were running X-3's or X-1's.

I just realized this, 6pin PCI-e connectors are only rated for 75W, and you could probably get MAX 200W out of them. In this blog post: https://hashfast.com/second-tests/ HF says the power consumption for just 2 dies is 300W. Maybe this is why they haven't said anything about running all 4 dies. They are probably running into limitations on how much power they can push through those 2 connectors.

BJ upgrade price gone up to 1900.00 usd today?
Looks like it. Probably because they realized their pricing scheme made no sense. The BJ with upgrade was cheaper per GH than the Sierra.

They are running the chips at higher a higher clock speed than they were originally going to. Who knows if they will ship this way.

On top of the fans in this image: are those cobwebs or is that smoke? Looks like tape.

Each die has 96 cores, and each clock performs two hashes. Therefore with 2 dies running at 700Mhz should be achieving hashrates of 96*2*2*700=268.8GH/s. This means that either some of the cores are not working properly at all, or they are making errors. At the same error rate, and nominal clock of 550Mhz a hash rate of 194.9GH/s will be achieved, which is lower than the advertised 422.4GH/s. They will need to increase the frequency thus reducing the efficiency of the ASIC.

Is there any site that has somewhat reliable predictions for the next 10 difficulty increases? What kind of machines are responsible for the majority of the network hashrate, and at what difficulty will they become unprofitable due to power costs?
