61  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [IPO] CoinPal - Crypto-Currency Exchange & Profit Switching Mining Pool {NEW} on: May 12, 2014, 02:22:14 PM
I want to believe, that there is some development going on behind the curtains and he want to let the facts speak for themself, but Iīm not quite sure if thatīs really the case...

To be honest, if this was a scam, there's absolutely no point in keeping up the facade now.  He has 99% of all the money he's going to get, so giving us updates and dividends is counter-intuitive.  If he was a scammer we'd never hear from him again and he'd be gone in the wind.

People may argue that he can't disappear because we tracked him down and have his personal details, but honestly, if you are a scammer, you would make damn sure that you never use any real ID / names for anything to do with the scam.  It's just basic logic.

I agree with you.

I would avoid using guiminer till you understand a few things.

Most pools give you the basic command line to start cgminer and the like.

Well that was nice, purchased some cheap options and a dividend came in too Smiley

... about 50K worth for 5k perchance? Cheesy

I wish Smiley but did get someone .0004's at .00001 cost, and someone .0005's at .01 cost.

I got a couple hundred at 0.0005 with .01 as well before the dividend. Plenty of fun here too!

Ya, was my first time buying options at the exchange. I was a little confused with the process though it seems simple enough.

However, I guess to share with those who may also be confused. ( I can't be 100%, but fairly confident )

as a buyer:

The "cost" is a one time fee to reserve the right to exercise that option. My assumption is the seller gets that upfront and gets to keep it. So, as a buyer divide that amount against the # of shares being purchased.
So, if someone has .01 cost for 500 shares, divide .01/500 to get the additional cost per share.

Then under "My bought options", you'll be able to start purchasing the shares at your leisure up until the expiration date.
So, if share was priced @ .0005, you just need to spend that 500*.0005 to collect them all, at a total of .00052 (including the original cost).

I guess you should watch out for that "cost" part. I can see people putting up 500 shares @ .5 cost for .0003 which would mean .0013 or so per share.

Roll Eyes Only money to play with anyway.

I'll make at least 3x that with the opportunities I  lined up for Coin-pal using it on one of my own ventures anyway

Yep, I'm having fun with all this anyhow.. Much funner than playing with Penny Stocks.

Yes and stocks are much safer.. All investments have risk. Besides, keep in mind Security in Security and Exchange Commission doesn't mean security like antivirus or Trojan..
It refers to stocks and other financial instruments. The people who have the most to lose are the entities involved with fiat. So, of-course banks and regulators will have a problem.

Fuck. who ever bought my typo cancel it or coinpals going to no expos or having pro affiliates.

I meant to type 0.001 but put 0.0001 for 50K shares. I suggest you cancel your buy, I know you'll see this.

Why did you even do this in the first place? It made sense when shares were not available otherwise.
If someone wanted shares they would of payed the IPO price of .00075 instead of paying you .001.

How would it work without miners?
70  Economy / Economics / Re: Worst bitcoin decision you've ever made? on: April 25, 2014, 05:15:19 PM
I don't think anyone made any bad decisions.

Only a lucky few who had some stashed somewhere and forgot them have the great stories. Or those adopters who developed a company which manages huge amounts.

For us everyday barely winning a scratch ticket at the local gas station. We are where we are because we traded. If everyone held, there would be no market, there wouldn't be more (new) people having a stake in the exchange. It's not much different than a company with a limited amount of stock, there has to be a market maker in the first place for it to be worth more than .0001. Other than those who have gotten coins stolen, I think we all are feeling pretty good about what we have acquired.

Me personally, I rather enjoy looking at bitcoin as a coupon. I got quite a bit when it dropped to about $350 and been having fun shopping when it got back to $500. The kids are enjoying the xbox that I payed full price for but with money I got a lot cheaper Smiley

71  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Report my Bitcoin earnings to the IRS? No way! on: April 25, 2014, 04:45:06 PM
Just my 2 cents..

If you don't play by the rules, then you don't get to claim the losses (which many people who came on-board with the 1k amount have suffered)

Me personally, i'm not going to worry about it unless btcguild starts sending me a 1099.

As a side note, just cause I post a sign that says trespassers will be shot on sight, doesn't mean I can commit homicide legally Smiley

Then get them to drink the kool-aid, no crime if there is no witnesses.
75  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Beware of LocalBitcoins.com on: April 25, 2014, 12:12:22 AM
On top of all this, in view of most recent arrests in Florida, any seller on localbitcoins (especially high volume one) can potentially be arrested for a mere fact of trading. States define such activity as money transmitting, which in turn requires proper state license. The arrest mentioned above were made by undercover law enforcement agents posing as Bitcoin buyers. So, the next time you arrange for a meeting to sell bitcoins, you could be meeting with the police officer.

Well I guess that can be challenged now, since the IRS considers bitcoin to be property. Unless that has changed, I can't get in trouble for selling my TV at starbucks.

Usually after a neighborhood yard sale, what's left over people leave on the curb. Just make sure you see the "Free Stuff" sign.
77  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [IPO] CoinPal - Crypto-Currency Exchange & Profit Switching Mining Pool {NEW} on: April 23, 2014, 11:15:32 PM
Very strange.  Still no IPO available yet a pretty decent dividend this morning.

Yep, I don't know what's up either.. Maybe trading halted till IPO.. (though it doesn't show halted, just no order-book)
Even if it's a loss, I didn't lose much Roll Eyes

.15 in and .029 back, so even if it was a ponzi style thing (implying we were paid by people buying shares), I got a little back
