are you planning to add stratum getwork support to the miner app? If so, yiimp pols and others would easily be able to be mined to. This of course is assuming it is presently coded just to speak directly to a wallet.... if i'm not mistaken.
we do have an integrated host software that has Stratum, currently supports keccak, keccakC, pascal, skunk, etc. the only one unique is xdag, which doesn't support stratus protocol, so that's why currently a hacked up version wallet sw if used instead, eventually we will figure out a way to integrate into the main host sw.

good job get it running! yes this Maxcoin is Keccak, the other CREA tested earlier is KeccakC, theoretically all coins based on the two variants can be supported by the host SW.

It was nice talking to you. glad that we have worked out the configuration issue. yes. xdag miner software is just a hackup version of the PC wallet, eventually our plan to merge them all to an integrated PC/Linux host software, and release for open source.
thanks.
Love the progress guys! I've been actively watching in the corner =) I may pick one of these up to play with myself eventually... Thanks. we are running short on those demo boards now, if we are to go for production, we will make another pre-production batch, then i can have some more spare ones for people who are interested in testing

|
So till now it's capable of KeccakC and doubleSHA256. Is mining setup fixed per coin or per algorithm? Not clear because of mentioning patched wallet for xdag. What is the most complex algo this FPGA capable of?
eventually we want to have an integrated cross platform host software that supports all algo, perhaps also supports programming the fpga board? for now there is still some hacky code there.. we have compiled a list of all potential algo to be supported on this fpga, and the estimated hashrate, we will have that information updated soon.

I thought I bricked it,but it is working on old algo.
Some how the install of flashpro polarfire did not work.
I will delete it and install it again.
I think it is not that easy to brick can the device be recognized by the programmer as showed in the screenshot i sent you? and does the "ping" test work? we can chat offline to figure this out. let me know what i can help still works on old algo. when I load flashpro second time it came up but your screens do not match the screens it shows me. I will be busy until six or 7 pm est time but after 7pm eastern time we can talk on the phone. I will email a phone number to you. sure thing, we will figure it out. Thanks!

Thank you for the good video! Let me know if you have trouble programming the fpga for other algo!

great, i will send you some instructions on how to re-program the fpga, hopefully there is no driver issue this time, i want to make sure first. next time we can try XDAG. I am going to make an address for crea and mine to it for 24 hours then try another algo . pm me what algos you have available. this is a new address for crea CUuANV58HNTcjHgu6LhiRSqvt5GTbRTs6Q http://creapool.club/workersthe address can be looked up at link the pool calculator says I would earn about 50 cents a day. this gear on the brick uses 35 watt x 24 hours = 840 or .84 kwatts that is 8.4 cents and you earn 50 cents so you clear 50 -9 = 41 cents that is 145 a year not the best for roi. but not a power hog. I will take photos etc very soon.
|
|
|
I do not know about roi. But I know one thing drivers are loaded and I should get test done soon now on the low end brick I am mining crea coin pulling 33.6 watts awesome you got it working. yes that's possible, i haven't measured power from that adapter.. the hash rate should stay at 1Gh/s anything else you want to test with?
|
|
|
Useless thing in terms of ROI. Nowadays is mainly only hardware manufacturers earn money in crypto mining sphere
If mining on these devices was profitable, then you would mine privately yourself using them, instead of trying to find customers who aren't a very familiar with math. I didn't mean to offend anyone.
there are already many people doing that, secretly, believe me, but my purpose is to build an affordable product that everyone has access to. besides, it is quite a hassle to build a farm, i enjoy more building a product. if everyone just keep everything to him/herself (or a small group), what is the whole point of cryptocurrency?

driver problem solved? awesome! sorry for the troubleshooting, i typically tested it on a linux machine, which naturally supports this device.. so i thought it would be easier to go with a win10. that brick adapter i sent you definitely is not the power efficient one. i measured the power using a lab DC power supply , which should be fairly accurate, so you may see 28-30W there with that adapter. btw, the cheap fan i glued on the fpga would also draw 1W... for sure you can use PC power supply for better efficiency. fyi, there are molex adapters like in the pic below. one can drive 2 miners no problme. Thanks for the effort! I will be busy for the next 8-9 hours.
Op and I have exchange emails and we think we found the missing driver.
If you look at my screenshot above there isn't any port section in the device manager. I hope to square this away by 10 pm east coast time.
Sorry for delay, but I have to do some real world business.
Oh a 12 volt brick was provided and on idle the unit uses 3-4 watts on a kwatt meter.
I have the ability to feed the unit from a modded atx my guess is that will drop power use a lot as bricks suck for efficiency.
So if op is accurate about 25 watts with a brick I should drop that to 21 watts with an atx plat.

ok, let me try something tomorrow. it really shouldn't be that hard.. must be something simple missing. yes will try to replicate the issue on a "clean" PC tomorrow. hold on , i suspect some other driver files are missing for the fpga chip. since i always test it on PC with fpga development kit installed. I will upload the file to share drive and share a link with you. sorry for trouble setting it up! i didn't realize would be that hard, will figure out a way to straight out the process
Tip: You should install a fresh copy of windows and start a setup guide from there, noting every thing you install/did to get your board running. It will help a lot of others once they purchase your board. Or else, you will have tons of questions from people. I was going to tell him send me a working clone of win 10. I have more then a dozen mobos I can use a working clone of win on. Does not need to be activated win 10. It also will let me break down. What the exact files to load are. I could build a usb stick. Maybe 8 gb is all that is needed . And load all software to it as a setup package.

I am baffled.. so you have only one USB connected right? either the big USB or the micro one, and two green LEDs are on, one front one back? have you tried installing the driver setup file? so i just plugged in the miner to a PC which I had never tried it on, the device is recognized in seconds by windows automatically.. without manual installation of driver.. do you have the 12V power supply plugged in when testing? do you see the two green LEDs, one front, one back, both ON when 12V and USB connected? otherwise, would you mind trying it on another windows computer? it should work on any... also, i tried uninstalling the device driver from device manager, and after power cycle the device came back on automatically. my guess is maybe you didn't plug in the 12v power? Thanks got home fired it up and I have a driver issue. my win 10 build says it can not find a driver.
It is the size of a pack of cigarettes.
I need to step out for about 1 hour.
at op how do I load the driver?
keep us updated bro!! drivers won't load I am getting really frustrated. tired maybe vosk can figure his out. maybe it is a ryzen issue I will try it on an intel tomorrow.
