There are lots of posts regarding this mentioned on this forum. You can check those posts/threads by typing "merit" inside the search option. You will find all merit related posts will show up. Being a newbie there are certain limitation while you search, basically there is a time limit between searches.

Or else you can also directly use google search for checking out all the threads that are related to merits. Few examples are mentioned below which will help find threads/posts that only exists in BTT forum.

Code:
a) merit:bitcointalk
b) what is merit:bitcointalk
c) how to earn merit:bitcointalk

I would interest to try lavavps if it is $2/month, so it only cost $24/year. still cheaper.
The VPS with lowest specs is $2/month with bitcoin or altcoin payment. This VPS is suitable for a low-traffic website and there are higher spec/more expensive VPS plans, if you need it. You get full root access, choice between Ubuntu, Debian and CentOS, SSH access, unlimited bandwidth and 1 non-blacklisted static IP address. You can also buy domains and SSL certificates with LavaVPS (or use letsencrypt.org for free SSL). I use LavaVPS since 1 year, almost no downtime and no problems.

You will need to install apache, PHP, MySQL, Node.js, etc. yourself but it is easy and you can check this guide: https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-install-linux-apache-mysql-php-lamp-stack-on-ubuntu-16-04 Setup webmail: https://www.tecmint.com/setup-postfix-mail-server-in-ubuntu-debian/

You can also run cli wallets and nodes on the VPS, run scripts, etc. but the specs arent suitable for mining.

Thank you for adding more information regarding this.
65  Local / India / Re: Free ways to get ETH on: August 15, 2018, 06:04:01 PM
Nothing in this world comes for free (except love although now you have to waste pennies for it lol). Even when you visit the supermarkets and find them offering free goods if you purchase in bulks, by calculating properly/by checking out the exact price you will find that the price is already included in the discount price.
As you are in crypto world, i would rather suggest you to complete some bounties, participate in airdrops, search for other services in the forum and earn tokens or fiat. No one will provide anything for free until and unless you found Genie Smiley
66  Local / India / Re: No merit transaction in INDIA local section..... ? on: August 15, 2018, 05:56:13 PM
I think it depends on the number of good informative articles written under Indian thread as well as number of peoples checking it out. Crypto being worldwide, we usually check out the other sections that's available for everyone and not much concerned to check out Indian section. Yeah, when it's particularly about India i drive into this section to get out more information and other's opinion.

It was very active before all the shit that happened in India.. Scams, Govt. Ban, Exchanges disappearing with funds - all these have driven people away.

It's really miserable to find that Indian government taking such steps. Firstly there is lack of jobs and now when we invest our money into something the government wants to rip it. I'm sure if they lately removes the ban they gonna ask a % from the cryptos we earn.
67  Local / India / Re: How to make money quick and reliable way on: August 15, 2018, 05:38:28 PM
Well if you are thinking of making quick money then you possibly have to depend on luck. Indeed many peoples here trades on a daily basic who got good marketing tactics and make enough. But it's risky and not a very reliable way. At this moment i would rather suggest you not to invest in altcoins, rather go for BTC/ETH but keep in mind those will be for long term investment (as no one can predict when the market is going to step up). I mean the money you own i.e $110 is almost negligible in terms of crypto world.

If you are a beginner in the crypto world you can try out these ways (All these can be done within this forum and crypto world):

a) Bounty Campaign - Bounty campaigns are tasks that a Project offers in the initial stage! These tasks mainly includes social promotions like Facebook Campaigns, Twitter Campaigns, Reddit, Steemit, Youtube Reviews, Article Writing and Signature Campaigns! You perform little tasks for the Project and instead you will be awarded tokens which you can change for Fiat, money like Euro or Dollar, or stakes! Translation and Article writings are among the best paid bounties!

b) Airdrops - You have to perform some small tasks in order to participate in airdrop (Depends from Project to Project ~ Like Facebook Like | Twitter re-share and others)! You can participate only once in an airdrop, until and unless you hold multiple accounts and which is not legal or authorized! And in case if you have to pass KYC using multiple accounts will be waste of time.

c) Article Writing Skills/ Strong Community Management - This is mainly for users who have good writing skills along with having a good community with large number of members! Start promoting ICO's in your pages / write articles about the project and earn yourself a good amount of money. From prior experience i found that in many Projects peoples asking the Leaders if they want any promotional service! This one is a bit hard working process but compared to the amount, worth doing it!

d) Digital Services -  Provide service for which you can earn money! Many peoples in the forum asks for certain service like Web Designing/ Hosting / Server Hosting / Email-Service / Promotions + OTHERS! You can keep an eye on the forum from time to time and if you meet any of these skills you can offer them your service and earn yourself some $$.
68  Other / Beginners & Help / Want to learn blockchain ✎ on: August 07, 2018, 12:01:16 PM
Hello there, i hope my Bitcointalk family is doing great.
I have been here around for few months only trading, completing airdrops and bounties but never bothered to about blockchain which i lately found to be the most important part. Finally i have decided to learn it from the core so that i can have an overview of what blockchain actually is and how it works. I'm aware that there are thousand of threads in this forum as well as over the internet regarding it but as BTT has the most former members who are petty expert in it i want to know more from them. I have seen in many thread regarding blockchain but most does not have information about newbies. I want to learn from the very beginning and increase my knowledge time to time.
Can anyone suggest me a book (online maybe pdf) or any website like tutorialpoints, where i can start my blockchain journey from the very beginner level.

I would like to thank in advance for helping me out.

If you're asking us to give you money before reading what you're offering, you're begging.

Begging for cryptocurrency is really, really rude behavior on this forum. You're lucky if you don't get negative trust as a result.

Stop begging for cryptocurrency - if we like your idea we may help you with an investment.
My God! Sir, did you check out the topic and post properly ? I suggest you to read the line once more and check the last line of the post. Just without checking out the post properly you are saying nuisance which i believe i don't own. To my belief throughout my post i didn't ask/beg for money or anything else, if you kindly scroll down to the end of the post you will find that it was simply a joke. No one else had any problem understanding the joke, if it has caused you some trouble i'm sorry for that. I feel like you are being rude without checking out the post properly, i mean no offence. I don't need money from anyone, already rich enough.

70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: - - - [ANN] [ICO] Leonardo Render - - - on: August 06, 2018, 12:46:10 PM
ICO Analysis: Leonardo Render
Published 1 day ago
on August 4, 2018
By Alex Moskov

The Leonardo Render team features entrepreneurs and designers from a variety of disciplines. CEO Marco Iodice is an award-winning creative who borrows from his experiences in music composition, sound design, 3D modeling, animation, and VR programming. CTO Marcin Gucki worked for IBM as a technical leader and DB2 Administrator.
Risks
Limited to Ethereum in its current state: According to the whitepaper, Leonardo acknowledges there may be potential limitations such as network clogging and other economical issues of the network and will explore other variations. -4
Vague value and limited utility of the token: LEOS, like most other utility tokens, has its limits for investors. Token holders are anchored to the Leonardo platform for better or for worse. If the project takes off an is wildly successful and holding LEOS is profitable, great. If not, I don’t really see there being a market demand for it. -5
Growth Potential
Competitive edge: The Leonardo Render team claims that the platform is currently 3x to 6x faster than its competitors. +2
Partnership with GigaWatt: Leonardo partnered with a 23,000+ GPU hosting facility, Giga Watt. This helps to ensure high levels of performance and reliability, security, and other cost advantages. +2
Immediate use case: The current video rendering processes and industry appear to be very cumbersome and expensive. If this alternative is as good as it says it is, finding paying customers won’t be difficult. +3
B2C and B2B focus:  The bulk of Leonardo Render’s business development look like they’re targeting medium to small players, as well as larger players such as movie/animation studios, architecture firms, etc. This gives them some flexibility in getting customers. +2
Early bonus on the presale (likely the stage the project will be in by the time you read this): Getting between 20%-25%+ of a bonus seems like a solid advantage, especially combined with the lock-up period for larger investors. +4
Disposition
We arrive at a +7 out of 10 for Leonardo Render. The pre-sale gives a decent bonus, and the utility of the token guarantees some sort of liquidity.

Nice project!

Thank you for your analysis. We appreciate your opinion even so good opinion and evaluation!

Best,
LT.

This is a very interesting analysis of hype of Leos! Investors often use ICO listing sites to find out good ICO project to invest so this result and honest reviews can be helpful! Indeed in terms of other competitors, Leos is  step ahead as they have more added features and rendering is much faster. The rating is really very positive.

72  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to create your own website under $10! on: August 05, 2018, 08:30:04 AM
If I’m not a pc geek, will it be possible to create a website under 10$?
Not a total dummie, but havent faced creating webpages before. I know it is possible to add articles and content via admin UI, dont I’m totally zero regarding webpage security.

Also dont know how to make a webpage not “heavy”, so it wont load for ages...

Indeed it will be possible to create a website under $10. To be more precise, it's even possible to create a website with absolute no cost at all $0. But as the fact is a paid domain along with paid hosting and other is better than a free service. The tutorial that i created is mainly for small forums/website with minimal security, not for a large db.

74  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to detect when your laptop is used for mining bitcoins! on: August 04, 2018, 05:18:31 PM
Hi

I recently got a new laptop, it runs smoothly and don't get heated or anything. But recently, I discovered my laptop now runs at max especially when I visit certain sites having to do with crypto currencies.

I heard this is a thing, how can I detect such activity?
Thanks

Go to the task manager and see the process that are currently running and the ones that you do are not recognised.
In case of Windows 10 i have noticed CPU usage with 100% multiple times and after going through multiple forums i found that "Windows Search" is the culprit. I manually turned it off and now it's working fine.
Also, most anti malware and anti virus suits cover mining malware so you just need to get one and run a thorough scan on your PC. Use a Cleaner to clean junk files and keep your PC drivers up-to-date.
Usually in case of secretly mining in background, you will notice noise increase and performance decrease from general usage.

77  Other / Meta / Re: Difference between activity and posts? on: July 30, 2018, 01:31:36 PM
Posts: It shows the number of comments(posts under threads) you have contributed to the forum.
Activity: As the same says maybe it's something related to "Activeness", literally how active you are and if you are making quality posts not spams. You can acquire activity through posting. So by raising your posts, your activity will increase. Your activity is counted within a period of 2 weeks which gives you a maximum of 14 activities or 14 days of being active in your account.
Topics: Threads that you have created/started.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Give me suggestion! I already lost my money. on: July 30, 2018, 01:20:27 PM
A successful project is based on multiple factors , team members, on time support, development, milestones and customer satisfaction. We need to choose altcoins very wisely. As investing money, so better to do several hours research than loosing money. Currently many peoples are lacking patience and selling their altcoins and investing in BTC. So we can witness price rise in BTC while altcoins are bleeding. This situation should overcome soon as still many among us are determined to the tokens we invested in. Now we have no other choice than waiting and holding back the tokens.
79  Other / Meta / Re: How to Add / Edit Bitcointalk Signature? on: July 29, 2018, 02:59:05 PM
Nice tutorial for newbies.
Almost most signature campaigns are pre-designed ,and that's what we need in bounty campaign.
I checked someone about asking for bold design.
𝓒𝓱𝓮𝓬𝓴 𝓸𝓾𝓽 𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓼 𝓬𝓸𝓷𝓿𝓮𝓻𝓽𝓮𝓻: http://qaz.wtf/u/
It included bold, italic and lot more unicode text converter. This one is the easiest way if someone don't wants to work with [-b-] or [-i-] tags.

*Changed the tags as it's detecting bold and italic itself x.

Thank you very much for your good comment. I do not understand exactly, what kind of things can we do with the link you mentioned? So what does it serve our service on this link?

Actually previously i checked someone asked how to create Signature in bold and italic. So peoples who are not familiar with tags can use the converter: Converter Link and it will auto generate different kinds of layers.
Sorry, updated the link as the previous one was a bit confusing.
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Are airdrops really worth it? on: July 28, 2018, 05:49:39 PM
Yes and NO,

Why Yes? -  We never can predict the future. We are not sure if someday the few tokens that we earn from airdrops can come handy and might result in a good chunk of bucks. I often come across many posts in forum where peoples shares not to do airdrops as they are tracking our identities. Sure don't! Participate in airdrop, it hardly takes few mins to complete one (majority airdrops). Just in case if it asks for personal information's like Phone number, pin code and sometimes even KYC which are not worth providing.

Why No? - To be frank and honest i was one among the peoples who used to do lots of airdrops promising a big amount (as i used to target the best ones). But so far with my experience with airdrops i can clearly say i'm disappointed. 80% of airdrops doesn't pays off, scam, don't reach the target, lately asks for KYC and some others. Of course providing personal details along with identity is not literally a very good idea after all.

I recommend you try it yourself and lately you can have a better idea yourself. Create an extra wallet (MEW as most airdrops asks for ERC20 wallet) for airdrops so that your details and cryptos are safe.
