61  Economy / Service Discussion / What does Coinbase do right? What do they do wrong? on: March 30, 2013, 07:04:53 PM
I'm a current Coinbase customer and up until this Month, I loved their service. But their lack of transparency really bothers me. As an entrepreneur myself, I can't stand when companies are opaque and don't provide top-notch customer service.

So fellow Bitcoin enthusiasts, what do you think that Coinbase does right and what do you think that they do wrong? Anything that you would like to see added or removed from their service?

Thanks,

JP
62  Economy / Service Discussion / Bitcoin Webchat? on: March 29, 2013, 09:50:48 AM
Is a Bitcoin webchat something that you'd be interested in? Ideally, when there are situations where the forum isn't very active, Mt. Gox is lagging bad and you want to hangout and chat about Bitcoin real-time say at like 4:51 AM in the US?

Would anyone be interested?

gadsdengraphics: They're using MongoDB. You can search for "coinbase" here to verify: http://www.mongodb.org/about/production-deployments/ Using a non-ACID compliant database for a financial application seems like a poor choice; hopefully they aren't using it keep logs of their financial transactions.

I just downloaded it. I think there is potential. I can deal with ads... but I really don't like when I select a a price on a exchange and the overlay exists when I scroll down, it gets in the way of scrolling and is unintuitive.

I hope this helps somewhat. Remember, I'm just one datapoint though. Hopefully you'll get more feedback.

I've used Coinbase to purchase my coins... but I'm worried about their long-term viability and their lack of communication.

Hi guys... been lurking on the forums for awhile. I picked up some coins when they were approx 22 USD, so I'm pretty excited to start helping the Bitcoin economy.

So, what is the best Mt. Gox competitor that's US based?

Please forgive the noob question, but how is price calculated on the Mt Gox exchange?

Thanks in advance.
