61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / amd 14.6 and Linux distro's on: June 25, 2014, 04:28:58 AM
Just wondering if any of the big mining distro's has amd 14.6 drivers yet? I only mine x11 and x13 on a few of my rigs and figured the speed increase most report from 14.6 would be nice. Short of that any advice on how to update Pimp to 14.6 drivers?  Thanks in advance

Price change as noted on op. Fyi these would be shipped from usa. Any question's feel free to ask. Also miners are very stable haven’t restarted them in weeks.

Thanks Steve

With all do respect. I am do not think a world pink day would have all that much effect. Witness the dogecoin nascar it didn't really even raise dogcoin at all.  IMO the number one feature any coin needs to be in use everyday is a way to use it via sms. That way the area's that are underdeveloped can use it as a currency without having a smart phone. Read about farmers in Kenya using the cell phones company's sms payment system for example. I am sure Pinkcoins fee's could come in well below any cell company's charges.

I am very close to switching to mining Tekcoin. However i have 3 block erupter cubes at 600watts. And bitcoin returns about .45 cents per day vs .09 cents per day on Tekcoins. Does the POS push it into about the same territory if so I will switch yesterday as I am also tired of btc difficulty jumps.

No its a premine. No doubt about it. Bitcoins had one of the highest premine's ever. Only coins I know of had a bigger premine off the top of my head was the country coins that was popular a few months back.

66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I will not, nor ever invest in a coin where the community is causing issues on: June 24, 2014, 09:01:42 PM
While this is reasonable on the surface I would suggest its actually completely unreasonable. The goal is very noble and I wish it was like that. However there are people that get money just for spreading fud on coins. They would have no hesitation to do or say almost anything. Especially when they Know there are people like you (again noble goal) who wouldn’t invest in a coin having turmoil amongst its holders.  Now if you narrow your focus to the dev and dev team then I agree and think that is 100% do able.

67  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Mining w/ USB miners on: June 24, 2014, 08:57:31 PM
If your using a powered usb hub it should be fine. Please allow me to suggest you don't spend any money on more usb miners or usb hubs strictly for mining. Unless of course your doing it for fun. They will never make you any money back. Even with free power I doubt you would ever even make more than 20 us dollars worth or so.

What you can do to learn is work with what you have until you decide if your more interested in mining. Or rockbox makes a small affordable miner that runs 32gh/s for around 70 us dollars. That only draws around 50 watts or less.

That will also be difficult to roi but you will come much closer with that. It will make enough for you to see how trading works with the daily fluctations. It will also allow you to pick a pool you like etc.

If you need help setting up bfg miner or cgminer Just ask Smiley  Both of them are far far better choices. You will be happy you switched. If you prefer the gui setup consider using cg watcher to set it up. There is also Multiminer both are great tools for the novice miner.

OK , I have had a long day I haven't had a chance to see the whitepaper. I am surprised however there was no bounce in Silkcoin price assuming it was released. Can somebody just quickly do a tom's notes (shorter verson) for me? Guess I should have tempered my expectations on the price rise today. Oh well I believe sc is a good coin and I am not concerned currently with the price.

70  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: HELP -Where can i purchase an LCD for a 1Th Dragon Miner ? on: June 22, 2014, 05:11:13 AM
I would message one of the guys selling dragon miners from china. They are in the thick of the action there and if anybody can find you one it will be them. Just check the group buy thread and you can see who sells dragons very easily. I suggest you pick one of them that has plenty of good comments and happy customers.

if your going to solo mine ANY COIN with 90 mhs you need to mine a low difficulty coin like less than 20 or even 10. Otherwise its so hard to find blocks you will not make any money at all. I am surprised with such a powerfull machine you havent researched this a bit closer in advance.

Good luck and I hope you learn fast Smiley

Why does any criminal steal? They want something you have. They don't care who it hurts as long as they get what they want. The reasons they want it may vary could be desperate to pay bills feed family. Or it could be to get more drugs or god knows why. Sadly there has always been thieves and always will. So its up to each of us to protect ourselves and hopefully each other.

Don't know if you guys forgot but we are maybe 2 weeks or a bit more from mintpal. I know not everybody likes that exchange but the fact remains the coins spike before going there. Now if this coin is the quality I believe it is. It will be fine medium term vs any mintpal shenanigans.

Spoetnik, Perhaps you don't realize but a lot of people read what you say and believe a lot of what you say Smiley  Its just you lose a lot of people in the delivery that you perhaps would be better served holding on to.  Just saying Smiley

74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SilkCoin | New Wallet | NOW on MintPal / Cryptsy | FULL POS on: June 21, 2014, 09:20:27 AM
This whitepaper had better be great Smiley I think listing the steps is a positive. Its also a positive to create some forward momentum. The fud will never stop but there is 1 thing that causes people to ignore fud. Thats green candles heading up. I believe this coin will approach 0.0006 in the next few weeks.

I admit the premine seems a bit steep but consider this are you going to work on a coin non stop for weeks for free?? Of course not. So lets see how this dev and his team continues forward.

No Flound thank you. I love your pool and I believe ipominer is yours as well. Your customer service is great. I don't believe I have ever seen the pool go down for any reason. So thank you for the great pool I make more money with my old block erupter cubes here than anywhere else. Ok butt kissing off lol.

Thanks

76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Radeon HD 4670 AGP mining? on: June 21, 2014, 05:46:57 AM
try it with the x11 or x13 scrypt my old compute 1.0 6870 actually mines those faster than my new cards. Its worth a shot at least since you already have it. But for bitcoins no don't even bother you will lose money may get 1 dollar worth of bitcoin for 10 dollars worth of power. Yes its really that bad or worse even.

77  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANN: BITMAIN has Tested Its 28nm Bitcoin Mining Chip BM1382 on: June 21, 2014, 05:10:46 AM
I think its going to be about 1.15 per gh/s. That would make it a pretty hot seller imo then the second wave with hopefully coupons (when they have more s3 in stock) is where you will find the best/better pricing. Remember first batch they have all the power!

2nd batch you have more power because they have a warehouse full of them Smiley

Thanks, It does help I am just being super careful because I will have to talk the wife into letting me buy one lol. I really don't want to get in trouble for noise or heat.  I do like that its potentially upgrade able to s3 standard. Hopefully it will be affordable enough to be worthwile.

Very efficient miner as far as watts. Space on the other hand is going to be fairly large. For a USA buyer the price seems very high. Almost double the rbox again I know it draws about half the power but still....  All in all interesting product that I will keep an eye on and consider adding to my home mining.
