The VAST MAJORITY of New York Gold will be mined from block height 60,001 to 100,000!
According to one estimate ~ 1 Billion NYG will be mined from Blocks 60001 - 100000:
Reward: 1 to 49K NYG (Random)
(If someone wants to calculate the Poisson distribution that would be great!)
Blocks 60,001 to 100,000 represent a fair distribution that should be available to everyone.
After block 100,000 the fair distribution will be over and it will be harder to accumulate NYG.

The purpose is to experiment with different mining incentives over time! If you check out this graph you can see how the rewards change over time: https://imgur.com/a/TMZKZCurrent block height: 5395 Fixed reward 5555 NYG Reward drops to 1111 NYG at block height 10,001. Then it slowly increases. At block height 60,001 the real party begins! (Miners get up to 49K NYG per block) Then it drops again and slowly increases over time. Then, one final drop to 1111 forever. Miners get between 1 and 1111 NYG per block after block height 1,000,001! |
