61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zcoin - The Zerocoin cryptocurrency, guaranteeing financial privacy on: October 11, 2016, 02:53:16 PM
Price now is low. should be at least 0.01 to be profitable...not talking about 1 usd @ day.  Wink

I agree. mining this coin is now not enough to supply in the market . no premined , No ICO , and the volumn of Zcoin is not much
so the price will rise in next time . I think it will be second ETH instead

Developer subsidy is pretty hefty. 10 coins per block...

is there a minimum amount of Btc collected which should be met? to progress how its planned etc?

I don't think there is a minimum, it looks like this project has some major backing from investors regardless, but your question is pretty much answered here:  DO NOT POST SESC LINKS

Quick update everyone:

Nexus network was attacked recently which is why the wallets are down on Bittrex and Cryptopia.  If you are in our Slack group, you would know that Nexus team was successful in fending off this attack to the chain and prevented double spending.  We are working to bring exchange wallets back online.  These early attacks on the network are good for Nexus, as it strengthens the network and helps us close any attack vectors.  Nexus has been under heavy attack since the beginning, but it has escalated intensely over last few months.

Please check here to make sure you are on the correct block height: http://nexusoft.io/platform/

Using the Nexus-QT, go to Help --> Debug Console to see which block your wallet is on.

If your wallet forked off the main chain during the attack, you can fix this fairly easily.

On Windows, make sure you can see Hidden Items (or Hidden Files/Folders) in your Windows Explorer

Then go to C: --> Users --> (PC Username) --> AppData --> Roaming --> Nexus

1.  Backup wallet.dat by copying it to another folder
2.  Backup any Nexus.conf files you have IF you are mining (you probably won't have any config files if you are not mining)
3.  Then Delete everything EXCEPT your wallet.dat and any config files
4.  Download the blockchain bootstrap here if you don't want to redownload the whole chain from peers: http://nexusminingpool.com/downloads/blockchain.rar
5.  Unpack the database files into the Nexus folder
6.  Now run the Nexus-QT.exe client again
7.  Wait for wallet to load (can take ~20 mins to load database)
8.  After that, go to Help --> Debug Window --> Console, and type: repairwallet
9.  You should see your correct balance once the next block propagates

If you need more assistance, our community can provide nearly 24 hour help in Slack: http://nexusearth.com:3000/

Onward, and forward.  There is a HUGE update coming soon from Colin with the new Lower Level Database (LLD) and some updates to Trust Key expiration as well.  Stay tuned for that update in next couple weeks.  We plan to have binaries for Windows, Mac, Linux on that next update as well.

Why would NXS be frequently targeted when there are 50+ cryptocurrencies that are much more liquid?  What's in it for an attacker who can hardly convert $1,000 NXS per day into BTC?  Greatest respect to the NXS team, but frequent NXS unavailability is trying.

This is actually easy to explain. Nexus is targeted because it is not a clone of other coins.  How many of those 50+ cryptocurrencies with higher market cap are developing innovation?  Very few.  They are just utilizing already tested code that is known to be relatively secure but highly limited in distributed functionality and lacks proper decentralized architecture.  Yes, there are some attack vectors that have been exploited in the pool miner and open-source codebase to DDOS the network and wreak havoc in one way or another, but the community and codebase has continued to be resilient and in fact becomes stronger with each additional attack.

The attack vectors will be closed and Nexus will be launched into space.  I don't give investment advice -- but would not advise giving up when we are nearing something very big.  Wink

Here is an excellent article written by one of our Community members gjsteele71 (spaid). It is a very good down to Earth explanation of some of the features of Nexus.

This is a great introduction to Nexus for new folks.

@MASS

Does the level of ICO fund raising affect the roadmap and/or speed of delivery of this project?

Would anyone care to answer this question?

Short answer for first question is NO! Smiley

To deliver roadmap, we have to finalize description of products. That took much more time than we expected, because our products are technically challenging. Mass is going to change the behavior of millions of websites, that's way our solution for the market have to be very simple and easy-to-integrate.

So far, I think it's an interesting use of colored coins.  My only questions are why so many?  Why 1 trillion?  OP says 1 trillion "indivisible units".  So 1 Masscoin cannot be broken in half?  Is this correct and is it true?  I'm not familiar with how colored coins or Colu treats this.  Thanks for your answers in advance.

Check out this Vector rocket test, limited time to watch/download via link until Nov 11th. http://linkis.com/review.bellmedia.ca/GLLgv

Bittrex should be updating Nexus ticker from NIRO to NXS sometime soon.  We've confirmed this with Bill, Richie, Ryan.  No ETA.  Nexus team will announce when the ticker change is finalized.

Is this coin dead or is there the need of a new pool?
I am working on a new multipool project and currently i am still looking for new coins to add.
The pool is currently in alpha closed testing (stability, snapshots, ...) but the beta with 0% fees on all pools will launch soon :-)

Yes, there is a pool and the coin is likely to grow as well.  I heard from Cryptopia developers that they are working to add multipool stuff soon too

Looks like wallet maintenance all done.  I only wish that Bittrex also put the version of the wallet they are running on the wallet tab, but they are still such good exchange it's okay Smiley  Thanks Richie, Bill, Rami, and others there for secure and reliable exchange for Nexus!

it was noted in the interview that first impressions/website for new members are not very informative.

what are the plans for this?

I see the nexus earth website is now uploaded and active. can we make the ann on here a bit more user friendly? This is the place that all new people to crypto come and with an active well presented and understandable Ann we can start expanding out to new people.

I have been trying to explain it to friends and investors but I am terrible at it lol.

I would like to see the ports listed for wallets and mining, in the network specifications in the ANN.
