61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Summary of Claymore's miner infringing on mrb's SILENTARMY miner MIT license on: November 07, 2016, 02:49:34 AM
and do you get daily cuts of his dev fee? seems unfair if you dont.

You might need to read the MIT license a bit.

"Permission is hereby granted, free of charge, to any person obtaining a copy of this software and associated documentation files (the "Software"),
to deal in the Software without restriction, including without limitation the rights to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense,
and/or sell copies of the Software, and to permit persons to whom the Software is furnished to do so, subject to the following conditions..."

If he tried to force a payout on the grounds of the MIT license, it would invalidate the license itself due to the above clause. Honestly, considering the above clause, I'm not even sure why this situation escalated to the point it did. The condition for that clause is simply that the author is credited. Once done, it's free to use/copy/reverse engineer and rebuild. A name wasn't dropped where it should have been, and suddenly the world is on fire. I'm all for credit where it's due, but this is some grade-school chest-beating we're seeing here.

Edited for clarity on the condition of the clause.

It may be interesting to note that 1 GB cards CAN run stable using Claymore's miner here insofar as long as you have another card that has more than 1 GB available and is the primary card.

I've tested this miner with a Radeon 7770, these are the results:

Solo instance:
9 sol/s, however miner will either fail to call OpenCL properly immediately or error out after about ten minutes.

Dual GPU with Rx470:
GPU 0 Rx470: Stable at 10 sol/s for 4 hours, moved to Rx480 for further testing.
GPU 0 7770: 9 sol/s, however miner will either fail to call OpenCL properly immediately or error out after about ten minutes.

Dual GPU with Rx480:
GPU 0 Rx480: Stable at 10 sol/s for 2 hours and counting.
GPU 0 7770: 9 sol/s, however miner will either fail to call OpenCL properly immediately or error out after about ten minutes.

I will update this post as I accumulate more data. I like to test low-end spectrums so even those without access to the resources to afford a "good" GPU still have an option.

Great job here, Claymore. I look forward to seeing what your future updates improve on!

mega do not working, googledrive virus scan block, where to download?

Mega is working as of right now. Please refer to my earlier post for directions on recovering a file that has been marked as malicious using google chrome. Unfortunately, some work is going to be required on your part to get it running because a few unethical individuals have been installing Claymore's software without the knowledge or consent of others, which has led to the software being flagged as malware.

Does anyone know why  my miner will not start from the Startup (not start on all computers, OS is WIN 8.1 and WIN 10 )?
Is it possible that nobody knows what is the problem? This miner is impossible to run from the Startup? Why ?

When you configure the miner to run on startup, makes sure you select compatibility for Win8.1 or Win10 from the properties tab. It defaults to Windows 2000 or some other old OS.

What I have found success doing is setting the OS to automatically log in my account, and configured the scheduled task to run on login for my account, with respect to compatibility for Win10 selected in the properties tab.

Try it out, let me know if it helps you!

Hey guys,

Normally I'm content to sit back and watch the developments here, but I wanted to throw a quick shout out to those who are having issues with Chrome blocking the file because it's "Malicious". Once it's downloaded, go to your settings and find your downloads using either Ctrl+J or clicking on the three stacked dots, top right corner of the browser. Find the downloaded file, and restore the file. Ignore the warning, it's Claymore, guys! You'll be able to run the mining programs after this point, provided you've whitelisted the .exe files in your antivirus utilities, which have also flagged the miners as malicious due to the aforementioned unethical distributers. Somehow I doubt this needs to be said, but Claymore has an interest in people using this miner because we pay dev fees (unless we're jerks who can't appreciate the work someone else has done to help us mine as quickly as possible) and help fund future projects. Doesn't make a lot of sense to slap a malicious payload into the files that help pay the bills.

Claymore, this part is for you personally. You've done some amazing work with these programs and I wanted to give you a huge Thank You on behalf of the community. I've watched you not only steadily release updates and revisions for your programs, but also offer some pretty exceptional support for the miners who encounter issues using them. You could easily make residual income off the tech-savvy users and ignore the newbies, but you take on both development and ongoing support for your user base and that means a lot, especially from the perspective of another programmer who knows how difficult it can be to troubleshoot the same issue thousands of times and not lose your patience.

Hey Claymore, I'm the person who got Nicehash's attention to your newest build.

I actually found two ways to make your miner work with their new pool, either by specifying -nofee 1 to completely eliminate the dev-fee cycle (feels bad, man) or by redirecting your dev-fee cycle to another pool. I'm recommending they promote the use of your software since I've got it all working correctly, but you might still want to review the changes they made to how the cryptonight algo works using their pool to ensure it's compatible.

You might also be interested to know that AMD Radeon Rx480's get roughly 750 kh/s using 9.3 with the hashcount set at 1024.

What kind of price are you offering for the coins on a per 1k ratio? You'll get more responses if you make an offer, even if it is subject to change.

Has potential.

It does have an insane number of spawning enemies onscreen at a time, which makes it highly difficult, but it does hold my attention for longer than a minute.

Might want to find a way to lock the mouse to the game screen, as I frequently found myself clicking off the game when it got hectic. (side note, when I did this, my ship was invulnerable to everything until clicked back to, nice touch if on purpose)

Beyond that, I think it could benefit from being able to select from different types of enemies (maybe add some more sprites from different enemies encountered in the series?)

Great first attempt overall, not broken in any way.

I would suggest making it story-based if you chose to build from the Star Trek Universe, add text dialogue and .gifs of the characters issuing the current scenario, and maybe some unique power-ups or changing backgrounds to make it more interesting.

To prove I actually did play it, I posted to the leaderboard - Chance567: 783 (leaderboard is working fine by the way, real-time updates.)

Vervolioman is absolutely correct. Online banking is centralized in every way, and it really says something about crypto that it is gaining popularity even over the banks. I personally find it preferable to have a short wait time during transactions to confirm it is really going to happen, rather than an instant purchase with a margin for error.

Say I withdrew 200 dollars from the bank, and 20 seconds later I spent 200 dollars using my debit card. The debit card transaction would actually post first, making my withdrawal illegal if I only had the 200 dollars in funds to begin with. BUT, since I already had the money in hand, there would not be a thing the bank could do about it if I had overdraft protection other than do a chargeback, and even that in itself would not GUARANTEE I returned the items I purchased.

Crypto prevents this from happening by processing transactions in the order they are received, and granting them after x number of confirmations. If I tried the aforementioned scam with a cryptocurrency, my withdrawal would post first and negate the debit, as things should be.

Hello fellow Crypto supporters! Last week, I was clued into the world of Cryptocurrency by a close friend. After hours of exhaustive research into the mysteries (and benefits) of cryptocurrency, I am officially jumping on the bandwagon. The idea of a decentralized monetary system intrigues me, and the growing acceptance of crypto's as true methods of payment excites me. I don't necessarily have the hardware to do any real mining, but that doesn't mean I haven't jumped in mined for nothing just to make the networks I find most appealing a bit stronger. As I am a newbie, I can't post anywhere but here, but I am willing to discuss and receive tips about anything crypto. I'll be a VERY active member of this community, so expect to see me popping up everywhere as soon as my limits are lifted.
