Made some updates over the weekend to make it more scalable, now it can handle possibly thousands of orders.
Next thing to do is to make sure it checks the price on Coinbase every second, that would be cool.

See that craziness on BTC-e? I bought like 2 seconds before it jumped up 40 dollars. Lucky

What app are you using for coinbase limit orders? I've developed it, I thought I'd do some more testing and release it in a week. //although there is app for Android made by someone else - Coinbase Trader Please release and open this up on github when you are ready. I (and I suspect many others) would be interested in using and contributing to this. I've asked coinbase if they plan on adding this feature and they never reply back... Here it is http://coinbaseorders.com/ and https://github.com/tomholub/coinbaseordersChecks price every minute and will buy or sell based on instructions. I'll welcome any suggestion or help

Yes I made it out of frustration myself. I will open it on github and will PM you once it's there.

I'm getting addicted to staring at candles, I should just let the orders sit and ignore it.

I think it might still go either way, I't hovering around the last top. It looks it could go up but it might as well go down instead.
Ohh come on your are ruining the whole thread vibe, how can we ride the emotional roller coaster with a balanced view. LOL, sorry :-)

I think it's best to show your past projects, doesn't necessarily have to be Bitcoin-related. This way people will know what to expect :-)

The reason people don't understand Bitcoin is that we get too caught-up in the details instead of just saying "its a currency and payment system that gets rid of all those fees you pay with Paypal and credit cards. Here, you set it up like this (download Electrum wallet, then send them some coin and have them send it back to you). There, thats all there is to it. If you want to buy coins setup an account on Coinbase (or other). If you want to accept Bitcoins for your business, setup an account on BitPay and they will instantly be converted to USD. Later."
Out of context, but very very true

After registering on Coinbase I was surprised there is no way to place my order at $600 and wait for the price to drop to meet the order. /// 4th January: Released: http://coinbaseorders.com/Github: https://github.com/tomholub/coinbaseordersThe system checks the price on Coinbase every second and will buy or sell if the price is right based on your orders.

I don't think Chinese gov is against Bitcoin. I think they're just being careful. Bitcoin was featured in Chinese TV before and that's not an accident. I think they're just trying to figure out how to best utilize Bitcoin for their purposes (gaining power over US).
Until they figure that out, they will control it heavily so it doesn't get out of control from their perspective.

I may regret this in the morning, as it will cause some people to want to trade against me, but I feel that I need to put it out there. Bitcoin TA is heavily manipulated at the moment, by at least 2 parties. Be careful out there.
Could you please explain it in more detail? Is it the ask spikes I'm seeing @ 750 and 768 Bitstamp? Or something completely different?

Thanks for the analysis. I would expect the kind of investors you are mentioning are travelling on a regular basis, or have plans to travel in upcoming years.
If they believe in Bitcoin itself, they will hold on to it for long term. This is the 41% you're mentioning. Regardless of Chinese gov., they will be able to exchange their coins abroad for US dollars or EUR if they need to.

And it seems we're getting some volume there at the last bar. It's pretty violent right now

Issue with Coinbase.com is that they will not let you make a second transaction until first is fully cleared.
Registered when price was below $600, when I finally got bank acct. verified the price was $750. Waited until it got down to $710 and made a test buy 0.05 BTC. I wanted to buy 5-10 BTC but now I can't, have to wait another 4-5 days until first transaction is not pending anymore.
After that you should be reasonably free to buy more.
// moral is you might want to make the first transaction big enough if the price is good
