61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Newly Launched on: March 12, 2014, 06:53:48 PM
Stuhlman: This is not a personal attack on nitro, in fact, its becasue the service at nitro is so good that people like it, thats how it became the largest pool....

But to have all the hashpower centralised is not in UTC`s best interrest, that is why we are asking people to devide power over all the pools....

It has happened before that nitro was ddos and the market was flooded with coins, killing price. The effects of this are harmfull to UTC.

You say you have spend UTC on the developements which you have not been compensated for, however this is the first time i hear about it..
I hope you are not taking this personally since we are very gratefull for your involvement since day 1,Your service has been very helpfull.

having said that, i think promoting another coin here is slightly inapropriate

No not at All I do agree the hashrate is excessive on Nitro otherwise we would not close signups and raise fees. I do not take anything personal on these  forums, and I am happy to be part of this community. I did not spend any UTC on developing Ultracoin, I think you misread that part. But you were aware of me spending 13k UTC at one point. As far as promoting another coin, I am sorry if that came out it was inappropriate, I will edit my post and remove that. but it's my nature to promote good things case and point UTC.

As far as some of the concerns I am with you on some, is it dangerous and damaging no, is it our fault no. Can we resort to the extreme measures some here are suggesting!!! Absolutely not. We took the initiative many times, and Bumface himself can confirm that I asked him to take Nitro off the pool list till the hashrate drops, and he did. We closed signups many times, and we never said no to helping another pool. We have 4000 registered miners on Nitro ultra pool who might decide to come back and mine UTC any time they choose to.  More than 50% of our miners do not even read this board,  should we start raising fees to unacceptable levels, we would simply ruin our reputation. How would you like it if you went to sleep paying 2% pool fee and wake up to a 4% fee?

Can you balance the load by making a "nitro 2"? and proxy half your miners to that pool? it would probably help with orphans on other pools.

The primary problem is , pools are all stepping on eachothers toes and nitro is "re-completing" work that was already done and throwing completed work out, simply spreading out and taking up different assignments should solve it all.

You could do a promo 0% for 2 days for using new nitro 2.
This accomplishes all tasks at hand
-Keeps Nitros reputation in good standing
-Balances Hash across more pools, just make it so the new pool doesnt have any sign ups and you can log in with existing nitro1 accounts only for a period
-clears up orphans
-Helps network grow in a more health way

+1 to this. New utc server for nitro

i don't know if that's easy or not cause i dont have any idea how to run a pool XD

is there anyway we can make our own way to purchase UTC with the USD?Huh? first off I find it crazy that coinbase and localbitcoins are the 2 best ways to get introduced into cryptocurrency to begin with for people in USA.  I know somebody said our own exchange, and that seems like a lot of work.  I'm talking something simpler.  Just quick easy way to purchase UTC with USD that we can market that to USA consumers.   Jeez even a buy button in the wallet idk.  any thoughts?

Yes but you need to transfer BTC to that site first... I cant just deposit USD on that site freely.  I would have to purchase on coinbase, transfer to crypto-trade, sell btc, than buy utc with usd.  That is ridiculous.  Why cant there be a way with my bank account to purchase this extremely fast UTC coin directly??  a coinbase for utc if you will maybe .... ULTRAbase.com Smiley
I don't think that you need to have btc first. You can add money through their supported services

This happens all the time with Cryptsy.

What we really want is for things to grow slowly, over time, following the natural order of supply and demand. That includes value, community, services, etc. If we encourage a pump and dump, then it will happen and it will result in ultimate failure. We must focus on the long term aspirations. Just keep pressing forward and everything will come into fruition. The process takes time, patience, confidence, and precision in execution.

Hey everyone, I’m new here and I got a couple of questions. First of all I can’t seem to find an IRC for this coin or any kind of chat? Perhaps I’ve been looking in the wrong places, such as this thread but if anyone can help me that would be awesome. Secondly I read around here that with this special scrypt your kh/s can drop from 19-50% I can live with this but the problem is from the usual 420/440kh/s I get from my r9 270x its now down to a stunning 12~ kh/s! I’m using what I thought were the recommended settings and I have my intensity running at 12. If I put the intensity any higher than 12, I get a lot of HW’s. So I don’t know what I’m doing wrong here.

edit; the WU is only at a staggering 11.2/m
I forgot to mention this.

They added 4 but said they would add 2! Wasted Bitcoins & tells me it's not that professionally ran.
PS: what the hell is flappy?

This totally turned me off on Cryptsy.  I'm against bribing to get on an exchange, but allowing the frenzy...first one coin, then maybe 2 coins, then two coins, then 4 coins...all after the btc has been sent is unholy..  Greedy bastards =(  Shame on them and Bigvern.
They shoulldve at least donated some part of the btc they collected

71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarket.io | New, self-moderated support and news thread. on: March 06, 2014, 05:41:01 PM
This lack of public information was a result of misunderstandings between PR people.

Our current estimate is that CoinMarket.io will resume normal operation (with trading) in 24 hours.
The extended downtime is required to patch some critical issues, fix clogged up wallets and run full database audits.

Please relax. We will be doing our best to keep the site avalible for withdrawals until trading is restarted.

We are not going anywhere, more technical information coming soon.

All withdrawals that failed without an txid will be processed manually (most of them already processed).

Please relax? How bout you STOP relaxing and start acting like a professional who gives a fuck about his reputation. Your exchange was killed by your neglect. PR people? As if we believe that you have PR people working from your mother's garage. You will never get a single coin from me again. Coinmarket, where the speed matters, is DEAD to the community - because that is how you have been acting. We demand better communication. Put down the bottle of vodka and bag of cocaine next time you are running a business because you have been acting like drug addicts. Why should we ever support you when you are obviously incompetent at even communicating, let alone running a business.

Misunderstandings between PR people usually don't result in a week long information black-out from a business treading the waters of the GOX disaster. Judging from your fantastic display of idiocy, I doubt you know how to use email.

But hey, we really appreciate this little update - with no apology - and another 24 hour estimate - and ZERO technical details. Thanks for taking 60 seconds out of your party to tell the us whiney pigs to quiet down. Sorry, but we are full of bullshit and can't take anymore. Lets hear some real communication.

You have held my money hostage for a long time.

Please give me my money back.

Stop making me beg for it.

PM me to solve this.
Best rant ever  Grin

Tried another withdrawl of just 1000 LEAF to see if things were working.   Guess what.  Still no confirmation email....    And the site is down again.

I have no faith what so ever in this site at the moment, every withdrawl I have tried when the site is up has resulted in no confirmation email.  Used to work perfectly a few weeks ago, but now nothing.
May be your account was bugged. seems like youre the only one that having that problem afaik

How can you say they were hacked.?  Why in the f..k would they keep the site online so people could withdraw for over a week while it was being hacked.  Thats just crazy and stupid.  Nothing is making sense here.

If they were trying to scam why did they let 99% of the people withdraw.  The only money that has been lost are from the people that were trying to withdraw right when the site was going offline.  So they were not  doing this intentionally.  Nothing makes sense here.  This is one big f...king mystery.

Coinmarket.io SPEAK TO US
That's exactly my thought! that doesn't make sense to me also. I tried withdrawing .01 btc and it went trough when the site was up for a few minutes 2 days ago i think. if you were caught withdrawing right after the site goes down your coins will get stuck up.

I really don't know why they aren't speaking up
