Hablemos de Criptomonedas en generico, para evitar diferencias de criterios, basicamente son un mercado especulativo, lo que quiere decir, que poco sentido logico tendria hacer un analisis racional sobre regulaciones, resultados anuales o mercados, el gran defecto historico de todos los mercados especulativos, es que existen ballenas que si se mueven medianamente en conjunto afectan la masa de inversion, la correccion de este efecto, podria ser la regulacion de compra, pero no voy a entrar a explicar lo catastrofico que seria ese otro extremo.

Una de las cosas mas interesantes que he visto, es como 2 Billones de Dolares migraron de una moneda a otra, disculpenme los expertos, pero esto no tiene otro sentido que un movimiento coordinado, en busqueda de apelar al miedo a la perdida, para bajar el precio, y conseguir una recompra con subida de valor.

Cuando entras en un Exchange centralizado estas aceptando una serie de condiciones que hacen que haya ciertas garantias en el proceso, por otro lado los descentralizado vas un poco mas a tu cuenta, las reglas, mas que reglas son formas de trabajo, pero no hay un ente regulador visible.

Debo aclarar que es totalmente cierto que en lo que se refiere a este mundo de los exchanges sobre todo, no hay nada perfecto, todo es perfectible y nada es 100% nada, ni seguro, ni inseguro ni bueno ni malo. todo va a depender de la optica de lo que se este buscando.

Si bien es cierto que en uno tienes mas volumen de transacciones en otros tienes mas privacidad, si bien es cierto que en uno tienes mas protecciones en el otro no corres tanto riesgo o al menos ese tipo de riesgo para tu capital.

Todo es cuestion de evaluar segun tus expectativas cual es tu deseo y a que le das mayor peso.

Dicho todo esto paso a decir lo que en mi opinion le da usabilidad a cada uno, para las transferencias entre personas con intereses especificos, conversion de divisas o garantias de compra venta internacional, recomiendo los exchanges descentralizados, ahora bien, si la razon de usarlo no es operativa o de soporte a una operacion si no es con el puro animo especulativo, la respuesta esta en los exchanges centralizados, por las garantias y variedades que ofrecen, en mi caso particular, el volumen va de ultimo, tiene mas peso la variedad, ya que no busco grandes inversiones ni movimientos bruscos si no movilidad y flexibilidad.

En resumen, operativamente es mejor el descentralizado, si se liga con una funcionalidad suena como la solucion perfecta, en cambio los centralizados son muy buenos y se han especializado en el soporte de trading.

Sinceramente este tema del Petro, es cronica de una muerte anunciada, no hay una sola gota de intencion visible en hacer algo al menos interesante, lo unico que exigen los "creyentes" es un voto de confianza a ciegas, un salto al vacio con los ojos cerrados con la fiel creencia de que por alguna magica razon, alguien los salvara.

No crean en cuantos de brujas despues que la inflacion se dispare, si hacen una emision infinita, tendras una inflacion infinita.

Esto al final de cuentas no se trata de creer o no en noticias, es leer pragmaticamente lo que dicen del petro en su propio white paper y evaluar la trayectoria del emisor, no puede ser que lo hagamos con cualquier ICO, pero no se haga con esta emision. no se puede dar un cheque en blanco de confianza a cualquiera y menos aun como dijeron antes, en un proyecto que denota falencias y que no se tomaron ni el tiempo para esperar su madures, si no, que se saco a produccion y en el camino pretendian hacer correcciones, no estamos para eso y menos aun los estados cuando son serios.

Lo que todos sabemos había empezado, la gran subida del 2017, todo comenzó a cambiar muy rápido, tan rápido que era difícil de entender. Lobos vestidos con piel de oveja por doquier, los precios no solo despertaron al mundo la existencia de un mercado, si no que despertó a muchos aprovechadores, los famosos capitales golondrinas hacían su aparición. Lamentablemente esto distraería la atención sobre lo relevante y pasaría el foco a lo rentable, no es que una cosa sea excluyente de la otra, pero el filtro de calidad se desvirtuó. Entraron en juego las estafas, los aprovechadores y otras figuras propios de las explosiones de mercado.

Para ese momento a efectos del ICO, íbamos sin prisa, pero sin pausa y tocaba imprimir velocidad, mi primera decisión, fue aprovechar el momento y vender diez máquinas de minado ASIC, aunque no me considero un erudito en la materia, la diferencia de precio entre la compra y venta posible de esas máquinas, me permitían oxigenar la ICO y no esperar el rendimiento a mediano plazo, estaba convencido que la subida de precio, no tenía sentido ser sostenible en el tiempo. En todo caso, me daría holgura en el flujo de caja a corto plazo y si el plan era acelerar era lo que haría falta.

Comenzaron los 3 meses de locura, ya teníamos fecha, para Enero de 2018 debía tener un Road map claro, y para Febrero debería arrancar los 90 dias de la primera etapa de la ICO.
El horizonte pintaba tan turbio en este momento que empezaron a pasar las cosas que no me esperaba, esta vez fue mi socio, quien con una pregunta me hizo entender lo que estaba viendo el mercado, me pregunto: ahora cuánto vale la empresa? En ese momento aunque debí reírme, preferí explicarle lo que estaba pasando, yo veía todo como una situación circunstancial, pero me di cuenta que veía realmente que sentía como suya la sociedad, pese que hasta ahora no tenía ni idea de lo que estaba haciendo. No tardaron en llegar el enlace técnico preguntando algo parecido, quería entender cuanto era el estimado de beneficio total que esperábamos.

Ante la avalancha de preguntas de las personas a las cuales en cualquier momento pregunte, preferí hacer 2 cosas, preparar un email genérico para explicar lo que estaba pasando a mí entender en el mercado para todos los que había consultado y por otro lado hacer una reunión con todos los involucrados directamente. La reunión se daba en un momento muy convulsionado para Venezuela, el gobierno había empezado a hablar de criptomonedas, mayor sorpresa era imposible, el mismo gobierno que pretendía apresar a la gente que estaba minando y perseguía a tenedores de criptomonedas, ahora decía que quería entrar en el juego, de verdad desconcertó a mucha gente, pero más que eso a la comunidad medianamente seria del país, aparecieron de la nada unos “asesores” para decirle al gobierno como hacer las cosas. Pero ya ahondare en eso. La reunión terminó en buenos términos debíamos acelerar y cambie algunas condiciones dejando como aliados tan solo a un par de integrantes y al resto pagarles por su trabajo sin mayor beneficio.

Llego el fin de año y apenas había tenido tiempo para averiguar quiénes eran los asesores de Venezuela para su emisión, estaba ocupado en comprar dominios crear cuentas de email y definir la ruta comercial específica para la ICO.

En el mercado serio, se sucedían Forks, se hizo famoso el robo de monedas de un wallet, empezaban los acercamientos entre la banca y las criptomonedas, mientras tanto en Venezuela sucedería lo que llamaremos el primer fracaso del Petro, esa moneda estatificada con supuesto respaldo, se lanzaba sobre la red de ethereum e inmediatamente se dan cuenta que dicho blockchain no es manipulable, por lo que pasa a desuso rápidamente, pese a que ahora se sabe que los asesores si cobraron completo.

En cuanto a la ICO, ya había comprado dominios, creado los usuarios de correo y abierto muy sutilmente las redes sociales, nada de lo anterior tenía un contenido claro, aun no tenía la imagen corporativa por parte de los diseñadores y el área técnica aun no me había entregado un token confiable en mi Wallet. El mercado seguía convulso, ya Wall Street había llegado al Bitcoin  o viceversa. En todo caso ahora las ballenas mandaban, y habían adquirido unos 200 millones de futuros. No voy a extenderme en tecnicismos, pero a efectos de una ICO lo que pasa en el mercado es lo más importante, es la visión que tiene la gente común y corriente de lo que está pasando y aunque las ballenas marcan el precio es la impresión generalizada la que marca la inversión.

Esperaba ya la entrega final de los tokens y el diseño para comenzar, pero sin decir nada aun, sabía que la fecha de lanzamiento no se cumpliría, por lo que pospuse la creación de la empresa, también porque quería saber de qué sería realmente dueña, creí que debía comprar un dominio, y sucedió, que necesitaba extensiones .com .io .store .us .org .info y pare usted de contar, cualquier brecha que dejara abierta seria blanco fácil de una estafa con mi nombre de por medio, y si algo he tenido en mi vida es mi palabra y mi cara, y no rompo la primera para que no me rompan la segunda, menos mal que todo esto estaba bien aprendido, es la base fundamental de este negocio “el Prestigio” así que hay que cuidar con quien te asocias y con quien te relacionas.

En Venezuela específicamente, aparecieron los estafadores de siempre, ofreciendo riquezas por centavos, donde al final solo se pierden los centavos y no se ve la riqueza, el caso en otras regiones de Latinoamérica no difería mucho, pero por suerte, lo estafadores con capital para hacer grandes movimientos aun no habían migrado a esta tecnología, estaban en proceso de aprendizaje y los que por alguna razón me conocían se me acercaban a diario a que les diera una inducción de media hora, rápido y certero, para salir a vender al menos máquinas de minado. Hoy en día un par de estos arribistas están vendiendo cursos de inducción a criptomoendas donde al final, no solo pagas el curso si no que te convencen de que compres algo o un curso especializado.

Llego el fin de año, me tocaba dar un repaso por algunos lugares para validar lo que tenía en la mano, empecé por estados unidos, donde podía empaparme de lo que realmente estaba pasando en el mercado, ya que la información que llega a Latinoamérica está muy viciada de necesidades particulares, asi como lo que sucede en otros lugares esta ajena de estos vicios y buscan resolver problemas particulares, la idea era involucrar todos esos requerimientos de unos y otros. Regresaría vía México, Colombia y Perú a Venezuela, para poder así empezar el año 2018 con una visión medianamente más globalizada del tema.

Venezuela me recibió con el sabido primer fracaso del Petro, disimulado con la contratación de nuevos asesores (cobradores) que provenientes de Rusia, asesorarían al gobierno en su lanzamiento, cuento largo corto, la empresa contratada por el gobierno no existía en la comunidad cripto, venían del área de alimentos y ahí se sellaría el nuevo fracaso, fallo número 2. Paralelamente me toco asistir a la despedida de una amigo que se iba a vivir a México, el no aclaraba mucho a que se iba, pero ya lo habíamos conversado, se iría a México como colaborador de un Exchange en México, hasta la fecha ha sido muy buen informante de lo que está pasando en esas empresas.

Lo bueno, es que acababa de recibir y aprobar el diseño original de la página y la imagen corporativa y estaba a dias de recibir los tokens definitivamente en mi wallet. Lo complicado que había aparecido es que ahora sucede que no había una estrategia, plataforma o simplemente una aplicación sana por la cual vender en pre venta el token, había que desarrollarlo, porque lo que había en el mercado y hasta la fecha es lo que hay, no son amigables, es una relación donde solo va a ganar la empresa que te ofrece la solución, porque algunas hasta se quedan con la base de datos. Se había presentado el primer inconveniente serio.

Sin importar que tanto tratamos de prepararnos y aprovechar el tiempo en avanzar en los objetivos planteados, había algo que apenas ahora a finales de 2017 empezaba a clarificar, el WhitePaper, esa herramienta tan nombrada y poco apreciada, al parecer según veía cada uno de los proyectos más respetables que había visto, cada uno daba menos valor a esa herramienta, hay quienes ni la leen, la ven como un requisito a cumplir tan solo, después me entere el porqué, sucede que muchas páginas donde puedes conseguir información sobre ICOs se basa en lo que aparece en estos documentos, pese a que muchos de ellos están cuando menos mal redactados, porque hay algunos que ni tan siquiera expresan la intención real del emprendimiento, es extraño, me encontré con muchos que parecían ser un copia y pega de otro documento, palabras recurrentes y al parecer todos basaban o argumentaban su existencia con palabras como “el primer…” “el único…” cosas que para mí, que he estado en el área de mercadeo, solo suenan a trucos comerciales para cazar incautos, de hecho son las frases preferidas de los sistemas piramidales.

El documento ya había tomado forma, teníamos una ruta y un objetivo definido, ahora tocaría validarlo con personas comunes y corrientes involucradas con los mercados financieros y el Retail en general. Los contactos generaron una serie de acotaciones, recomendaciones y correcciones, sobre todo, porque al igual que estas líneas, todo se expresa en función de la experiencia personal y eso por lo general es muy regional, debía escribir y corregir el todo para que fuera neutro, por lo que sucedió otro requerimiento básico, había que traducir el documento al inglés ya que el idioma nativo, no era válido, debíamos convertir al idioma más generalizado. He ahí el dilema, necesitaba una traducción del documento hecho por profesionales, eso suena fácil, cualquier servicio de traducción podría usarse, pensaría uno, pero sucede que no es así, lo que pocas veces se toma en cuenta es que si los traductores no tienen idea el tema, solo harán una traducción y no una interpretación de la idea a expresar, por lo que no solo debíamos descartar el Google Translator si no que debíamos escoger el servicio de traducción que lograra interpretar la esencia misma del proyecto. Como de costumbre nada es imposible, solo que cuesta un poquito más, y en ese sentido el proceso de traducción costo más de lo estimado, y mi libreta de anotación de gastos ya tenía más en la parte de gastos que en los objetivos conseguidos.

En todo caso se acercaba fin de año y ya teníamos lo que necesitábamos, ya tenía documento, plan de trabajo y muchas validaciones, estábamos en proceso de pruebas de muchos servicios de código abierto o de uso genérico para el manejo de la solución, no sé porque todos los que hacen un planteamiento en esta área creen que el foco esta en hacer una nueva cartera un nuevo manejador de datos, etc. No todo esta allí, quizás todo está en dar mejor uso a lo existente, no todas las soluciones WEB requieren de hacer un nuevo navegador, el navegador ya está allí, solo utilízalo más efectivamente y aprovéchate de las mejoras que los que se dedican a ese negocio especifico hacen, eso es lo que pasa con las carteras de criptomoendas, por cada proyecto se crea una, y si ese esfuerzo se usara en mejorar las existentes el éxito estaría asegurado.

Para mi sorpresa dentro del proceso de validación del proyecto, hablando con un grupo que hace imagen corporativa para muchas empresas transnacionales, me recomendaron hablar con un personaje que estaba muy involucrado con las criptomonedas, este personaje formaba parte activa de foros y eventos donde representaba el “consenso” de muchas criptomonedas, me parecía excelente, tanto así como tocar la puerta de un gran empresario, el problema radicaba que el asesoraba en este momento a un gobierno de una isla del caribe para la emisión de una moneda que respaldarían con una emisión de deuda pública y fomentarían su uso, desarrollando nuevas tecnología sustentables para la generación de electricidad para minado de criptomoendas, mas allá de las tradicionales fuentes solares y eólicas. Mi presupuesto aunque no lo crean estaba muy golpeado como para invertir en un viaje con escalas por el caribe para entrevistarme con este personaje, pese a que si bien no habría un beneficio económico, evidentemente si habría al menos un aprendizaje importante. Razón por la cual descarte esta visita y me concentre en averiguar un poco que estaba pasando a mí alrededor.

La mayor sorpresa no vino del hecho de que existieran al menos unos cinco proyectos medianamente grandes en Venezuela, lo más impresionante fue ver que se habían hecho en el mejor de los casos, bajo la teoría de: Porque los gatos se lamen la entrepierna? Simplemente porque pueden. Así de básico eran todos los proyectos, se habían hecho porque podían hacerlos, no había un objetivo a corto plazo ni una razón especifica que quisieran ampliar. Al final de cuentas muy a mi pesar todos eran proyectos estafa, su objetivo era captar dinero y su oferta era que la gente ganaría dinero con ello que podrían convertir en ganancias y capitalizarlo en moneda FIAT inmediatamente, grandes lavadoras de dinero. De inmediato obviamente obvie cualquier posibilidad de asociación, sentirme relacionado con estas personas o personajes no era beneficioso para mí, ni para el proyecto. Empecé a convertirme sin querer en una fase que pasamos todos los que de alguna forma estamos involucrados en criptomonedas y asumí mi rol de predicador, tratando de aportar lo que más podía en todas las comunidades con las que iba interactuando, una de las condiciones que me auto impuse fue, que jamás cobraría por enseñar a nadie, mientras esa persona tuviera la actitud de aprender, discutir y al menos dejarme algo de su conocimiento de negocio y así lo he hecho hasta la fecha.

Muchas de las personas que me encontré en el camino, están convencidas de haber encontrado el santo grial de la riqueza, nada más lejos de la verdad, me he topado con gente que en una oportunidad se me acerco para entender el negocio, o para saber cómo minar, que ahora dan cursos y clases sobre criptomonedas, pese a que siempre repito que en cuanto al valor de las criptomonedas, cada hora hay 180 posibles movimientos, y que nadie a menos que sea una verdadera ballena jorobada dentro del mundo económico de esa moneda, nunca sabrás que puede pasar.

Esta fue una etapa de desilusión, veía como estafaban con las monedas, vendían con sobre precio equipos de minado, con un 200% de ganancia al menos y al parecer los compradores más que inversores eran incautos pagando por algo que jamás recuperaría su valor inicial. Veía otros cobrando por abrir un wallet gratuito a terceras personas, vi como “expertos” enseñaban a hacer trading, cuando ellos no tenían un portafolio de más de 300 dólares invertidos, pero cobraban hasta 500 dólares por enseñar. No digo que esto ya no pase, claro que pasa y aun peor, pese a que esto parece ser una de las cosas más clásicas del mercado bursátil, donde un empleado que llega en el metro, les enseña a financieros que llegan en Helicóptero, como invertir su dinero, aun me sorprende que alguien pretende que una bruja les diga que numero de la lotería jugar, y le pagan por eso. No voy a entrar en explicar que es la Ley de los Grandes Números ni el teorema de Bernoulli. Solo aclarar que la regla general de los mercados especulativos para mi concepto se basan más en la falacia del jugador que otra cosa.

Si todo lo anterior medianamente pudo causar depresión y angustia en los involucrados en el mundo de las criptomonedas, para más, llego finales de 2017, el Boom de las criptomonedas, un sin fin de circunstancias no controlables que pasaban, desde el fin de año en china, la venta de futuros y el ingreso formal del Bitcoin al mercado mundial, solo parafraseando algunos sin orden alguno. Si habían buitres y carroñeros en el mercado, eso se multiplico por 10 o por 100, pero en todo caso seguía yo en medio de la marea de personas tratando de entrar al mercado parado en medio con mi “whitepaper” en la mano, y mi presupuesto limitado para continuar y una gran inversión realizada. Había llegado la hora de acelerar el paso y presionar un resultado.

Una vez culminadas las vacaciones semi forzadas de fin de año, debía retomar y acelerar el todo, estábamos ya en 2017 y aunque usted y yo sabemos que hubo un gran boom para ese año, yo no soy el mentalista, no sabía lo que sucedería, solo escuchaba el ruido en los medios de que algo pasaba, había mas presencia en medio internacionales y en conclusión, sentía otra vez que estaba en la ruta correcta.

Empecé por el grupo de diseñadores, ya tenían una propuesta de imagen, estaba ansioso por verla, así que dispuse del tiempo y me senté con ellos en un cafetín a ver lo que tenían. Que decepción, no había logrado explicarles lo que tenía en mente, creo que ese ha sido mi problema muchas veces. Sé muy bien por experiencia, que todos los clientes se creen diseñadores, pero era para mí importante que si queríamos masificar el producto, no podía llevar una imagen muy sofisticada, que intimidara a los usuarios más pequeños en capital, ni mucho menos una imagen muy técnica que corriera a los poco expertos en la materia, esto no estaba orientado a usuarios ya existentes, mi idea se basaba en captar nuevos usuarios y fidelizarlos. Por lo tanto esa reunión se extendió, se extendió hasta poder explicar mi visión, fue casi una mesa de trabajo, porque no los deje moverse hasta tanto me fuesen diciendo lo que entendían de mi explicación. Al final, al menos parecía que estábamos en la misma página, lamentablemente esto demoraría el todo. Aprovecharía el tiempo en ver mas proyectos, y sacar conclusiones de lo que quería que se mostrara, lo mejor y lo peor de la oferta de mercado, para crear un modelo que me agradara.

En este punto se vinieron tres meses intensos de ensayo y error, en cuanto lo que quería que hiciera la página, y el diseño corporativo de la empresa, una vez transcurrido este plazo, al fin teníamos un diseño final y una funcionalidad de página, ahora debíamos integrar ambas cosas, sin olvidar que debía comprar los dominios y el alojamiento para todo esto, me apoye en el jefe técnico y mi tarjeta de crédito. La caja registradora seguía sonando pero en el sentido equivocado.

Estaba ya más tranquilo, aunque nos habíamos comido un tercio del año y no teníamos nada concreto, además de lo gastado, pero por fin se estaba trabajando en la propuesta. Paralelamente a todo esto, yo continuaba en mi investigación, ahí me di cuenta que debía hacer un ANN en el foro si quería que me permitieran al menos ser evaluado en los exchanges, que necesitaba una cuenta de GitHub donde reposara el código de lo que se hacía, pero lo más espeluznante, era que debía tener a todo el equipo visible en linkedin, cosa que parecería de rutina, con la salvedad que el equipo con el que trabajaba eran muy, pero muy Venezolano, por lo que eso de Linkedin no les cuadraba mucho, muchos de ellos pese a lo mucho que podían aportar, ni siquiera tenían cuanta allí, muchos menos habían cargado data de ellos y su experiencia obviamente. Sentí, que debía empezar por preparar todo este tema, porque si una vez todo estuviera al aire faltaba ese detalle, quedaría todo en espera.

Así transcurrieron los siguientes meses, apoyándome en amistades del área de Recursos Humanos, había que pulir y crear los perfiles de todos en Linkedin, paralelamente crear definitivamente la moneda y por ultimo abrir las cuentas de redes sociales a que hubiera lugar.

Otra vez, se presentaron demoras no manejables, la líder del área de redes sociales se me acerco un día, poco antes de un viaje que yo tenía, a decirme que ya no podía trabajar conmigo, pese a que era una de las pocas que tenía sueldo, me dijo que había conseguido una oportunidad para irse al fin a Italia y no quería quedar mal conmigo, que ella esperaba mi retorno, pero que definitivamente se iría, conozco bien la situación en Venezuela, por lo que al término de su exposición, no me quedo otra que felicitarla y desearle lo mejor, no quise arriesgarme en un trabajo remoto, ya había visto los inconvenientes trabajando cerca, no quería ni imaginarme un control de operación con cambio de horario. Pero al final, tuve la primera gran lección, Cada ladrón, juzga por su condición. En redes sociales pese al sin fin de cursos existentes, tu mejor herramienta es la experiencia y aunque no lo crean, en cada país las redes sociales se manejan diferentes, las que más se usan pueden ser unas u otras y más que simplemente publicar, si no estamos detrás de los resultados de cada publicación, pero más importante aún, si no definimos la expectativa de cada publicación no vamos a poder hacer las correcciones. Conclusión, no generalicen, lo que pasa en tu entorno, no necesariamente pasa alrededor del mundo.

Ya entrados en mediados de año, al sacar cuentas, no tenía nada concreto aun, solo muchas definiciones y necesidades por hacer escritas en una libreta, y una relación de gastos en la misma libreta, ya iba a ser casi un año desde que arrancaba este tema, y aun no sentía que estaba al final, lo que era seguro a estas alturas es que haría una ICO y que necesitaba capitalizar, ya mis cuentas no era lo mismo de antes.

Se acercaba el último cuarto del año, ya teníamos borrador de la página, y un listado de pendientes por crear en redes sociales, pero no tenía aun quien trabajara en esta parte, ya la economista había empezado a trabajar en valuar la potencialidad del proyecto según cifras globales, necesitaba saber la valuación teórica, para estimar si esto valdría la pena. Los resultados de la valuación fueron más que esperanzadores, pero siempre hay que tener en cuenta que el papel aguanta todo, así que no había motivo de fiesta aun, había motivos para trabajar más duro. Iba entonces a entrevistarme con alguien para que fuera el administrador de redes sociales, la reunión muy bien, pero como siempre, no tenían idea del negocio, y seguían creyendo como creen algunos aun, que la idea era ganar seguidores para hacer “tendencias”, en este negocio, son preferibles 10 seguidores bien interesados y con conocimientos o ganas de aprender que un millón de seguidores que ni entienden ni se interesan de lo que haces.

Tres cuartas partes del año 2017 habían pasado y el saldo a la fecha era, definida página web y correo, dominios adquiridos, economista contratada, diseñadores contratados, administrador de redes sociales listo, redes sociales listas y se empezaba a trabajar en el contenido, aun no teníamos la empresa abierta, yo preferí aguantar un poco el pago hasta estar seguros de lo que estábamos haciendo nos arrojara una fecha más tangible. Ya había consumido sin darme cuenta más de Cuarenta mil Dólares y no había invertido en nada importante aún, sabía que quedaba por delante todo un tema de mercadeo, entonces empezamos a trabajar en los flujogramas y planes de trabajo para poder tener una fecha tentativa de salida.

Todo muy bien, salvo que nadie podía imaginar lo que pasaría a finales del año 2017 y para allá íbamos sin saberlo.

Me encanta los negocios de México, tienen esa parte mágica de los latinos, pero tienen el pragmatismo de los países de primer mundo, y tal cual, directa y franca fue mi reunión en esa majestuosa sala de reunión de una casa de bolsa de México, todo sucedió rápido, mi amigo y un par de socios soltaron toda la artillería con la que contaban en menos de 10 minutos, me preguntaron y repreguntaron, ni en una defensa de tesis en la universidad me sentí tan presionado, pero algo debió haber salido bien, quedaron a gusto con lo que conversamos, se veía en sus rostros y lo dijeron abiertamente, ellos sabían hacia donde se estaba moviendo el mercado y sabían que tenían en el caso particular de ellos, que moverse más rápido que las grandes empresas financieras, debían aprovechar que es más difícil mover una torre de 50 pisos que una oficina de unos cuantos pisos. En resumen recibí la bendición y me invitaron a almorzar, lo que en México es todo un espectáculo, pero no estamos en una guía gastronómica y como de costumbre no se habló más de negocios. Estaba listo para irme a Caracas.

Había validado ya lo más relevante que era para mí en ese momento, la parte comercial, técnica y financiera, debía seguir leyendo cuanta información consiguiera en las redes para mantenerme alerta de cualquier novedad que sucediera en el ámbito de las criptomonedas, de gran ayuda fue en ese momento el foro de BITCOINTALK, aun no me decidía a inscribirme, no me sentía ni preparado ni medianamente listo para enfrentar la crítica y me apenaba hacer preguntas estúpidas, nunca me han gustado y había notado que el foro era cuando menos intolerante a cierto tipo de preguntas y cuestionamientos. Así que decidí seguir de observador y lector, esta situación no cambiaría al menos en el próximo año, sería mi libro de cabecera, pero en secreto.

Al llegar a Caracas me toco al fin sentarme a calcular no solo lo gastado hasta el momento, si no, lo que había perdido de la empresa en el camino y sobre todo calcular como seguir adelante y cuánto costaría eso. Lógicamente, aun me faltaba por negociar el precio con los diseñadores y necesitaba un economista de planta, así como un técnico para labores de administrador de red, correos y servicios, sin olvidar que estábamos en el siglo XXI, necesitaba alguien que manejara las redes sociales. Sobre la misma mesa tenia lo que sería el borrador de organigrama inicial y un estado de cuenta de mi banco, debía conciliar esas cuentas, teniendo en cuenta que debía mantener a mi familia a resguardo de cualquier riesgo, ya las noticias sobre criptomonedas en Venezuela habían empezado a correr.

Habían salido ya al menos un par de monedas con el acento en que eran completamente Venezolanas, no sé porque el empeño en categorizar las cosas, suena más que querer calar en un segmento, quieren engañar solo a algunos, me puse a acercarme tímidamente a estos proyectos, siempre en las sombras, que decepción, todos eran un estafa, eran el modelo más popularizado en Venezuela, de buscar hacer lavado de dinero para grandes personas que se han beneficiado del país petrolero. Para los que no saben, en Venezuela hablar de un beneficio del 5% no es viable, la gente quiere ganar al menos el 30% y todo eso en 30 dias o menos. Lo que hace que para cumplir estos requerimientos todo suene a estafa, pirámide o al menos engaño. Por esa época entrar en alguno de los novatos exchanges era relativamente más fácil, por lo que estas monedas, inclusive se estaban colocando en dichos Exchanges, lamentablemente con la única idea, de convertir moneda local en divisas. No tenían, ni tienen a la fecha que escribo esto, utilidad alguna y los creadores no tienen ni pueden vender claro para que fueron creadas. Son algo así como la teoría de, porque el gato se lame? Porque puede.

Obviamente luego de este análisis, me di cuenta que no encontraría un socio local con mis mismas intenciones, no estaba planteando un negocio de alto beneficio en corto tiempo, estaba planteando una empresa de larga trayectoria, definitivamente no podría nacer como un negocio o empresa de capital privado, había que recurrir a una ICO, fue la primera vez que lo pensé, aunque sin mucho entusiasmo. Esta lógica ponía en riesgo todo mi capital, una apuesta fuerte, pero aun no sabía cuánto me cobrarían los miembros del grupo que faltaban, por lo que para poder estimar el todo, como dicen en el pueblo de mis papas, al mal pasó darle prisa.

Rápido y sin ninguna demora, me reuní con los diseñadores que me habían recomendado, les conté de que iba el proyecto y que era lo que pretendía lograr, aún recuerdo sus caras, no entendieron la mitad, y la otra mitad creo que aun la piensan, lo resumí en una imagen corporativa y algo creativo que tenía en mi cabeza, luego de las explicaciones y aclaratorias de rigor, fuimos directamente al verbo, Cuanto quieren? Y porque tanto? La respuesta fue clara, dinero en efectivo, contante y sonante, típico de Venezuela, logre luego de una charla, bajar un tanto los costos, a cambio de una participación efectiva en el proyecto una vez se lograra capitalizar algo. Aceptaron aunque aún creo que no saben que fue exactamente lo que aceptaron. La reunión con la economista no fue muy diferente, con la salvedad que entendió un poco más del tema por lo parecido al tema de las finanzas internacionales. El resultado también fue un monto en efectivo y una participación en la empresa, así que solo me restaba concretar con el amigo común del director técnico y mío, para que dirigiera al menos la comunicaciones, ya que sabía que tendría que involucrarme activamente en todo esto, lo cite junto al administrador de redes sociales que había elegido, el cual empezaría de inmediato, esa negociación fue directa por un monto sin participación en la empresa, caso contrario con el director de comunicaciones internas, que trabajaría por la pura participación en la empresa y así, empezamos la aventura.

Hasta ahora el resultado, era que había perdido al menos unas 3 porciones de la empresa, gastado unos miles de dólares, estaba lejos de mi familia y aun el viaje no había comenzado, pero debíamos ponernos manos a las obras de inmediato.

Cite a todos los involucrados a una primera reunión, donde les mostraría el plan de trabajo que estaba elaborando y así poder abrir canales de comunicación entre todos, mi socio, que no era objeto de nada de esto aún, lo quería presente como testigo de todo, un poco para que estuviera al tanto, y también como abogado, si pasaba algo, estuviera al tanto. La parte más sencilla había comenzado, les explique mi visión del negocio a los diseñadores para que pudieran dar un primer acercamiento a una imagen corporativa y me senté con el Ingeniero para explicarle que quería que hiciera la moneda y evaluáramos los Blockchain posibles. Ambas cosas ocurrieron relativamente rápidas, el compromiso era ver primeros avances en una semana o menos. Cosa que obviamente no paso, tardamos muchísimo más y a esto se sumaba, que venía fin de año, ya el 2017 estaba a la vuelta de la esquina.
Decidí hacer una reunión de avances más, asignar tareas y empezar un periodo de descanso por año nuevo, para retomar actividades en enero, era un descanso de más de un mes, pero necesitaba ese momento de reflexión con mi familia, ya empezaba a ver lo que se avecinaba, lo que tocaba invertir no era poco, menos aún para un solo bolsillo, había estado revisando la legislación internacional y sucede que la mitad de lo que venía viendo en el Foro de Bitcoin era ilegal, no se podía hacer o no entendía porque lo hacían, si matemáticamente o financieramente ponían en riesgo el valor del proyecto. Adicionalmente las evaluaciones y comentarios en las ICOs eran lo más sesgado que había visto, todas se evaluaban en función de logros y avances técnicos, los más radicales las evaluaban en función de su beneficio especulativo, me entro un frio en el cuerpo que me recorrió de la cabeza a mi billetera, estaba claro desde el principio que la oferta en nuestro caso no se basaba en nada de lo anterior, es facilitar el uso y su masificación, aunado a que por alguna razón romántica le agregaba lo de educación como un adicional. Aún recuerdo esa sensación de miedo en presentar una propuesta a un grupo de personas quizás mejor preparadas que yo, obviamente no podía volver a la universidad a estas alturas, contaba con mis grados actuales, donde títulos especializaciones y maestrías parecían no tener mucho peso, lo único con que contaba realmente era mi experiencia y lo que había ahorrado hasta el momento, no había legislación específica ni literatura, pero no me iba a rendir, creía que había algo bueno allí y el miedo era síntoma inequívoco de que algo bueno estaba por pasar, el único problema es que los tiempos a veces nos dan mejores lecciones.

Hace muchos años leí el Caballo de Troya de J.J. Benitez, y quede enamorado de la manera de manejar la expectativa del lector, aparte de él, me encanta también como lo hace Dan Brown, con un manejo de la angustia de los protagonistas tan bien trabajada. A qué viene todo esto? Lo que sucede a continuación parece sacado de una novela negra o policiaca clásica, pero puedo asegurar que está apegado totalmente a los razonamientos del momento.

Al proponerle a mi amigo se uniera al proyecto, su respuesta me sorprendió, en pocas palabras me decía, que el programaría y definiría los requerimientos técnicos que hiciera falta, pero de nuevo, que él no ponía ni un centavo en el proyecto, es gracioso, el mismo me llamaría meses después para invertir en Bitcoin, pero eso es parte de otra historia. Lo sorprendente de esto, es que me dice, pero hay cosas en cuanto al desarrollo que debemos aclarar, y aquí no es el lugar, me dijo que tenía que visitar a su mama en Cali, Colombia, que si no me entusiasmaba ir a Colombia, él sabía que sentía Colombia como mi casa, había vivido allí 5 años, inclusive una de mis hijas nació en Bogotá. Mi respuesta no demoro, sentía que me hablaba entre líneas y ese no era su estilo, acepte animosamente, pero le dije que nos veíamos en Bogotá, igual me serviría para empezar a explorar el plan comercial, conocía mucha gente preparada en esta área allá. Debo confesar que mi segunda intensión era sacarlo de su zona de confort.

Pasaron los dias tranquilamente, en la medida que se puede estar tranquilo en Caracas y a los dias estaba aterrizando en Bogotá, sería un viaje corto, debía ir a Ciudad de México al término de la semana, Bogotá como siempre, un encanto de contrastes, un clima envidiable y pare de contar el sin fin de razones por las que me encanta, lo cierto, es que mi primera parada seria directo en las oficinas de mis amigos, ahí esperaban tanto los colombianos, como los argentinos y peruanos amigos, los cuales coincidimos casualmente, estaba allí la crema y nata del comercio guerrilla de Latinoamérica, ninguno con empresa gigantes de respaldo, pese a que habíamos pasado todos por ser gerentes comerciales o de canales de empresas como IBM, Coca Cola, BellSouth, Schindler, etc. sin contar los medios de comunicación que algunos de estos personajes habían dirigido, después de ponernos al día, y ya entrado el final de la tarde, fue mi turno de decir lo que pondría sobre la mesa, estoy hablando de la gente que vende refrigeradores a esquimales, por lo que para mí era una prueba de fuego, me tranquilizo verlos prestándome atención, cuando empezaron las preguntas, de esas que te hacen para entender más, y no las que escucho muchas veces en algunos foros, donde la idea es ver si sabes o demostrar que ellos saben una palabra nueva. Había pasado la prueba de fuego y ahí vino la pregunta, Bueno, muy bueno tu cuento, en lo particular a mí me gusta, dijo el más veterano del grupo, secundado por todos y cada uno con gestos o directamente y en ese momento pregunto, que hay que hacer? Ha quien hay que matar? Y cuando comenzamos? Un peso sentí que caía de mis hombros, la gente que respetaba en el área de comercio de tecnología, no solo habían entendido, estaban entusiasmados con vender el producto y más aún, tuve que detenerlos para que no empezaran a hacer llamadas y citas.

Terminamos la reunión comercial, dándoles el estatus de cómo iba el proyecto, cada uno ofreció soluciones paralelas para lograr acelerar las cosas, los detuve diciendo, “no se preocupen, yo resuelvo, cuando les he quedado mal?” y aquí había empeñado mi palabra por primera vez. Me retire no sin antes coordinar la reunión con mi amigo que vendría de Cali al día siguiente, como de costumbre nos veríamos para desayunar majestuosamente.

Como de costumbre un desayuno extendido, es la mejor manera y hora de hacer negocios, el me hablo muy directamente al final de nuestra charla introductoria, contaba ya con un gerente técnico de proyecto, pero entendí la razón por la cual hablábamos en ese sitio y no en Caracas, la situación en Caracas requiere mucha cautela, me dijo, pese a que tu sabes más que yo que para el tema de minado puede ser una locación excelente y que hay muy buenos ingenieros, las regulaciones y la situación económica y política, nos pondrá en el ojo del huracán más pronto de lo que creemos, han metido preso a muchos por tan solo minar, cosa que ya sabía, imagínate si nos ponemos a desarrollar soluciones y proponer que la gente use criptomonedas como forma de pago, recuerda que yo no soy el que va a dar la cara, serás tú, estás preparado para eso? La pregunta por un momento me descoloco, por lo directo, pero mi respuesta fue tajante, sabes que se muy bien el riesgo que estoy corriendo, mi esposa e hijas están fuera de Venezuela y así se van a quedar, si existe algún riesgo lo asumiré yo, no mi familia ni ustedes. Una vez aclarado esto, acordamos el proceso de cooperación y participación, me recomendó a unos diseñadores los cuales contactamos y vería a mi vuelta a Venezuela, aunque no eran Venezolanos estaban haciendo un proyecto allá y el prefería trabajar con ellos en todo el proceso de integración y yo le creí por su experiencia al respecto.

Ya era suficiente de Colombia, por ahora, debía ir a Ciudad de México, faltaba una parte por validar, las finanzas, son un micro mundo independiente, y la referencia de esto en México es muy buena, así que un amigo que tengo allá, dirige una casa de bolsa y por cuestiones del destino sabía que estaban mutando a un Exchange de cripto activos. Fue un vuelo corto, no en tiempo, el cumulo de ideas en mi cabeza me hicieron dormir en el vuelo, eso no me gusta porque uno llega algo perdido al lugar de destino.

Durante años fui Country Manager de Mexicana de Aviación, por lo que conocía muy bien el aeropuerto de Ciudad de México, me sentía cómodo allí, pero debía moverme rápido, si mi visita a Colombia había sido rápida, en México no sería mucho más de eso. Llegue al hotel Geneve en la zona rosa, siempre llego ahí, ya ni me acuerdo porque razón, pero en todo caso, estaba dispuesto a descansar lo que restaba de día.

La llegada a Caracas fue de todo menos tranquila, no quiero extenderme en este punto, pero cuando un cartel gigante con la cara de Chávez te recibe, no es de esperar nada Bueno. Y no me equivocaba, ya parecía un desierto el aeropuerto, nada en las tiendas, la gente con cara de desconfianza y cuando menos a la expectativa de ver cómo te sacaban algo de dinero, pero bueno, eso queda para otras publicaciones si algún día me animo.
En resumen, llegue a casa a descansar un rato, porque al día siguiente me vería con mi amigo, no había tiempo para más nada.

Al día siguiente, como todo en Venezuela, ni muy temprano ni muy tarde, nos vimos para tomar café a eso de las 10:00 AM, y ya a las 11:00 AM le había contado mi plan a grandes rasgos y lo que necesitaba de él, que más allá que solo se asociara conmigo, pasaba porque me diera una segunda opinión en los aspectos legales, por alguna razón, aunque me falta un año para graduarme de abogado como segunda carrera, y pese que deje de estudiar derecho hace mucho, he pasado mucho tiempo redactando y revisando contratos comerciales, pero si algo he aprendido es que la segunda opinión en estos aspectos a veces puede ser muy importante. Cuento largo corto, mi amigo lo pensó un rato y me dijo: “tu sabes que yo te voy a ayudar en lo que quieras, pero como sabes, no entiendo de esto mucho y de verdad no sé si lo pueda entender, pero si lo que necesitas es un socio en los papeles de tu confianza, en eso si puedo ayudarte, pero no creas que voy a poner un centavo, porque ando en otras cosas y aun no tengo claro de lo que me hablas”. Nos reímos y disfrutamos del café, lo que acordamos fue eso, que el seria mi socio en la empresa, pero sobre todo, que el seria el guarda y custodia de esa porción de la empresa, donde estarían todos los involucrados, porque sabía que en el camino iba a tener que empeñar mucha veces parte de la empresa y el debía cuidar esa parte. Así quedamos y tres dias después me entregaría la documentación para enviarla a España y recibir de vuelta los documentos a firmar.

En el fondo sentía que le acababa de vender el alma al diablo, no sé si por las circunstancias, pero no tenía muy buena experiencia con socios, que poco sabia de lo que sucedería luego, en las ICO hay una moral distinta, un modelo de negocios muy, pero muy lejos de la realidad, este tema de las acciones de la empresa, estaban solo por empezar.

Ya tenía socio, lo que no había definido era tan siquiera el nombre de la moneda a crear, así que me puse a investigar por las primeras monedas de la historia, fue allí cuando el día antes de enviar los documentos a los abogados, se me atravesó una moneda del imperio Helénico, que tenía inscritas una letras, me llamo la atención y tome las 4 letras como base y las asumí como nombre. Ya tenía nombre el proyecto, impronunciable, pero ya había dado un paso.

Hasta ahora todo muy manejable, costoso, pero manejable, nada que no fuera distinto a lo que los años en la parte comercial de empresas de tecnología y turismo no me hayan dejado como experiencia. Era hora de entrar en la parte de desarrollo, mientras yo continuaría trabajando en la definición de la parte comercial y evaluando relaciones que me permitieran avanzar en el proyecto. Tenía que elegir dónde y con quien desarrollar técnicamente el proyecto. Hasta este punto aun no sabía, que esta elección era crucial, ya que las ICO se evalúan por las personas técnicas involucradas en el proyecto, es de entenderse los que la evalúan por lo general, son personas del área técnica. Sin saberlo, no tenía mucho problema en esto, habiendo sido líder de proyectos y gerente comercial de empresas aliadas con Microsoft y Oracle, había contado con equipos de trabajo muy bien preparados, algunos instructores de estas empresas actualmente, así que empecé por llamar a un amigo en Bogotá, para que me orientara acerca de cuál era el perfil que estaba buscando, me pidió unos dias para entender que debía hacer esta persona específicamente. Cinco dias después tenía un perfil abstracto, sin nombre ni rostro de la persona que buscaba como líder de proyecto, tenía que hacer rodar la bola entre los técnicos para ver quién aparecía, le escribí a todo el que pude sobre la búsqueda que estaba haciendo.

Aproveche mi estadía en Caracas, para verme con un gran amigo, con el que hicimos proyectos en Asterisk por allá en 2005. Otra vez café y anécdotas, pero esta vez, cuando le hable de porque estaba en Caracas, me di cuenta que no tenía que buscar, hablaba con uno de los mejores ingenieros en sistemas que conocía, graduado summa cumlaude, y con un arsenal de proyectos que sabía había realizado y hasta patentes a su nombre tenia, cuando me di cuenta no tarde en invitarlo al proyecto. Pero la respuesta cuando menos fue extraña.

"the only ..." things that for me, that I have been in the area of marketing, they only sound like commercial tricks to hunt unsuspecting, in fact they are the preferred phrases of the pyramidal systems.

The document had already taken shape, we had a route and a defined objective, now it would be valid to validate it with ordinary people involved with financial markets and Retail in general. The contacts generated a series of comments, recommendations and corrections, especially, because like these lines, everything is expressed in terms of personal experience and that is usually very regional, I had to write and correct everything to be neutral , so that another basic requirement happened, the document had to be translated into English since the native language was not valid, we had to convert to the more generalized language. That is the dilemma, I needed a translation of the document made by professionals, that sounds easy, any translation service could be used, one would think, but it happens that it is not, what is rarely taken into account is that if the translators do not have idea about cryptos, only make a translation and not an interpretation of the idea to express, so we should not only discard the Google Translator but we should choose the translation service that managed to interpret the very essence of the project. I will not go into explaining what is the Law of Large Numbers or Bernoulli's theorem. Just clarify that the general rule of the speculative markets for my concept are based more on the fallacy of the player than anything else.
If all of the above moderately could cause depression and anguish in those involved in the world of cryptocurrencies, for more, came the end of 2017, the Boom of cryptocurrencies, an endless number of uncontrollable circumstances that passed, since the end of the year in China, the sale of futures and the formal entry of Bitcoin into the world market, only paraphrasing some without order. What a disappointment, I had not managed to explain what I had in mind, I think that has been my problem many times. I know very well from experience, that all clients think of themselves as designers, but it was important to me that if we wanted to mass produce, we could not carry a very sophisticated image that would intimidate smaller users into capital, let alone a very technique that ran to the few experts in the field, this was not aimed at existing users, my idea was based on capturing new users and building loyalty. Therefore that meeting was extended, it was extended until I could explain my vision, it was almost a work table, because I did not let them move until they were telling me what they understood of my explanation. In the end, at least it seemed that we were on the same page, unfortunately this would delay the whole. I would take the time to see more projects, and draw conclusions from what I wanted to show, the best and worst of the market offer, to create a model that I liked.

So the following months went by, relying on friendships in the Human Resources area, it was necessary to polish and create the profiles of everyone on Linkedin, in parallel to create the currency and finally open the social network accounts that would be available.

Again, there were unmanageable delays, the leader of the social networking area approached me one day, shortly before a trip I had, to tell me that she could no longer work with me, even though she was one of the few who had salary, she told me that she had gotten an opportunity to finally go to Italy and did not want to be wrong with me, that she was waiting for my return, but that she would definitely leave, I know the situation well in Venezuela, so at the end of her presentation, I did not have another to congratulate her and wish her the best, I did not want to risk a remote job, I had seen the inconveniences working nearby, I did not even want to imagine an operation control with a change of schedule.
