61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin has an identity crisis now? on: March 20, 2020, 11:40:02 PM
This is a very difficult period for the world, most likely there will be a global recession, I don't think there is any problem with bitcoin but if world finance suffers, unfortunately, bitcoin also suffers a lot about this situation.
This is what I believe as well. I don't think its necessarily a bitclin issue, but right now a world issue. I don't think bitcoin is mainstream enough for people to choose to put their money in rkght now compared to things like fiat. Especially during a recession.
62  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Toilet paper hoarding on: March 19, 2020, 12:29:15 AM
Most people in North America shower daily; in fact we have a maxim - shit, shower, shave - but we may not always be that regular.  Unfortunately our places of employment/public restrooms don't generally offer showering facilities, bidets or other fancy butt-crack cleaning services so whatareyagonnado?  Going home after a dump for a quick shower isn't an option and would probably get you fired in short order.  Toilet paper is all we gots in most cases.

But most people are hoarding toilet paper because they believe they will be stuck at home for an extended period of time. I would hope that the employers that still need their employers to come to work would at least have an ample stock of toilet paper. I never thought that I would be put in a position to bring my own toilet paper if required to come into work. I suppose it is possible, though.
I will offer this point of view. I think people go to the store, then see that everything is basically sold out if not already then try to buy what is there so that they will have enough. It's not necessarily because they are trying to hold or resell, but rather they don't want to run out and see the shortage that others have caused. This creates a problem for the next people in line that they have no toilet paper.
63  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump vs Germany in a bid to acquire vaccines for US only. on: March 19, 2020, 12:26:09 AM
I don't know if I would call this corruption, and I doubt he did it in a malicious manner. I think Trump was doing this to ensure that the US would have enough vaccines for their own people -- that's the gist of this. Germany (and the rest of the EU nations) aren't that populous compared to the US -- so the US would require a much larger amount of vaccines.

No idea, what you are talking about here, but unfortunately this is completely wrong. The EU has about 512 million inhabitants (Switzerland, Norway etc. no even counted). And the US has about 327 million inhabitants.

I didn't mean collectively, I was comparing each individual EU nation against the US. Think of Germany (83M) vs the US (330m) in terms of population. That's what I meant here, no more no less.

But what's the point of dividing the member states of the EU in seperate parts? If CureVac would find a vaccine, obviously every citizen in the EU would get a vaccination. Doesn't that mean that the demand for vaccines is even bigger in the EU than it is in the US?

Nevertheless I understand Trumps point. He tried to make a deal for his own people - fair enough. However, what I criticize is his behaviour. It is not only morally reprehensible, but also outrageous towards the European partners.  The EU and the US should work together, combine their knowledge and find a vaccine for all people. Not only for the person who pays the most $$. I am proud that Dietmar Hopp showed backbone today and put Trump in his place.

I mean at the end of the day this isn't about money, or about something like that. It's about trying to save the most people for their own particular county. I highly doubt that CureVac came into the room and said I can make enough vaccines for all countries in the world, and then BIG BAD ORANGE MAN SAID NO ONLY FOR ME.

It probably went along the lines of -- I can make this amount of vaccines, and Trump said he wants them all for his own people. Wouldn't that make the most sense to you?
Honestly, this just seems all speculation with no proof and highly subjective. It is just as easy to say that Trump planned on buying it so that he could distribute it around the world. Both claims have no proof. I'm sure trump planned on wanting it for US citizens, but we can't argue that it's a certain argument.

65  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🏆🥇 MALUBIT.com🥇🏆 - ⚽🏀🏒Bitcoin Sports Betting on: March 18, 2020, 01:06:09 AM
This thread is getting out of control . Everyone that has issue with the site should really solve their issue by PMing or chat through the support chat to get their . That if you really are trying to sort out your situation. All I can see is just a coordinate non stop fuss to make the site reputation goes down

I agree with this. People should reach out via PM and trying solving it with the owners. Posting here doesn't really help IMO.
66  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Coronavirus Quarantines Are Coming, What to Stock Up on Now Before It’s Too Late on: March 17, 2020, 10:41:34 PM
Here's an interesting one: cheap freezers are sold out, and I mean seriously sold out... backordered for 2-3 months.

So what kind of apocalypse are we expecting? It looks like one where food will supposedly run out but lights will stay on as will the freezer full of frozen lasagna.

Generators don't seem to be sold out BTW.
I think people should just be buying dehydrated type of food rather than buying freezers and stuff to put in them. If shit really would hit the fan then I have a feeling the electric would go out. Generators also aren't supposed to run non stop unless its some kind of commercial grade.
67  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will all the world hold China responsible for corona-v on: March 16, 2020, 09:09:14 PM
I think that wet markets are not going to go away. Also, much of the world owes China in loans and such. I think some people will try to blame China just like China is trying to push propaganda. I don't think any major actions will be taken such as saying they won't pay China their loans.
68  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Toilet paper hoarding on: March 16, 2020, 09:06:42 PM
Boy, I didn't realize that toilet paper is such a coveted item. Tried to order some this weekend with my grocery store delivery, no dice. Waited to get some today, store shelf empty. Called one store, nope. Called another store, got lucky. However, I only bought one package of 12. The clerk asked me if I wanted more. I hope that I didn't make a crucial error. Although, I am sure cloth rags and frequent showers will work. Or is running water going to be in short supply soon, too? How long, exactly, are people expecting to be holed up? We only have like 33 presumptive cases in the state that I am in at the moment, and I live in a rather large state.(area wise)
I think it's just fear that makes others want to buy if they see it because of scarcity. I went to the grocery store the other day when there were no cases in my area and had to wait an hour to just get through the checkout line.
69  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump vs Germany in a bid to acquire vaccines for US only. on: March 16, 2020, 09:04:31 PM
Is it just me or is it a wake-up call that vaccines take time to produce? To me, it's a wake-up call that many vaccines need a testing phase, and this could be unacceptable if the disease was bad enough. I'm not saying we should get rid of testing phases, but I'm saying that it's a scary thought if it was something bad.
70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Doomed ? on: March 16, 2020, 09:02:10 PM
i don't think so, people are being too exaggerating this situation, @op where you not aware of 2018 dump? did btc go to doom? that dump from 20k to 3500k is worse than this in my opinion and btc was able to recover even not up to 20k but above 10k, so rest your mind and hold your btc if you have any, no need to panic although it is very frightening and confusing but the best option is not to panic, just wait for market to recover.
I think many people need to also consider that the stock market is going down and this contributes to the price of bitcoin as well. Large investors get scared during times like these and would rather not have money stuck in risk.
71  Economy / Economics / Re: Can we agree BTC is not a store of value? on: March 16, 2020, 08:59:03 PM
I think everything is just going down atm, and although btc has been down for quite a while I think that the current drop cannot be attributed to bitcoin by itself. Rather just the economy as a whole has taken a toll and bitcoin is included in the mess. I think bitcoin is an innovation in thinking and business rather than storing someones value.
72  Other / Archival / Re: Is KYC benefit to crypto people or not on: March 16, 2020, 08:56:15 PM
There are large centralized exchanges allowing you not to go through the identification procedure if the sum of your daily withdrawals does not exceed a certain number, usually it is 2 BTC.
For now. They usually start that way to attract volume and then crack down once they get big enough and want to keep their doors open.
It happened to Polo, then Bittrex, then Binance.
I can see this as a good marketing ploy. Many people want an exchange they don't have to show their identity, so companies offer it in order to have more customers join. Too bad so many companies switch away from what they offer.
73  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🏆🥇 MALUBIT.com🥇🏆 - ⚽🏀🏒Bitcoin Sports Betting on: March 16, 2020, 02:46:17 PM
Does anyone have a short list of sports that are still playing and aren't canceled? I know most sports in the US are cancelled at this time. Thanks!
74  Other / Archival / Re: Is KYC benefit to crypto people or not on: March 15, 2020, 03:12:31 PM
KYC does not benefit crypto users at all because the only purpose of KYCs is to avoid fraudulent users or multiple accounts who participates in bounty campaigns or in any projects, so it only benefited projects. Honestly, most crypto users hates submitting KYCs because it might be used to steal their identities and used it in illegal acts.
I think that fraud needs to be stopped in a lot of the bitcoin community though. Fraud is not a good thing, and many people that hear bitcoin instantly think of fraud.
75  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I though Bitcoin was created for this moment? on: March 15, 2020, 03:08:08 PM
Bitcoin is created for a faster and cheaper transactions, this is my thought. On a daily drops yeah and we are all shocked because of that, but we should remain calm and be positive. Bitcoin proves to us that its not a totally a safe haven, this is also a big question for me but still I believe on the process of bitcoin and I know it can happen again one day.

BitCoin was created for faster and cheaper transactions, but it failed to live up to that promise.  It is harder and more expensive, so virtually NO ONE is transacting in BitCoin to pay bills, make purchases, etc.

You not to bright if you can not even see this REALITY...

Hard Facts
This also has to do in part to the block size I think and people attacking the sizes by sending small transactions deliberately. Also, the transaction fees getting expensive during these attacks doesn't help.
76  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Big wins at FreeBitco.in on: March 15, 2020, 02:33:27 PM
I've been playing this for a while. It's pretty fun for the freeroll every hour. Unfortunately hasn't hit above the minimum yet  Grin
77  Economy / Economics / Re: Coin prices down 25% to 30% this morning. on: March 15, 2020, 01:42:23 PM
Well, time is always weird with Bitcoin's price. That's the normal of Bitcoin. It rises just when you think it will fall and it will fall just when you think it is being carried by the bulls. I cannot explain why the price of Bitcoin is falling right now. I was feeling bullish about Bitcoin several days ago when it crossed $10,000, but it seems my gut feeling is never accurate. I thought we will hit $12,000. Well, I guess both the traditional market and crypto market are now affected by the fear of COVID-19 pandemic.
I think it's more people were losing money in the stock market and got nervous so the average large trader tried to sell off their bitcoin and wanted fiat instead.
78  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I though Bitcoin was created for this moment? on: March 15, 2020, 01:12:06 PM
I think bitcoin has become more of an investment platform for individuals and is following the stock market closer than others would have hoped. I believe it was created for this kind of situation, but many people are not trusting it for their investments when crazy things like we are seeing in the stock market happen.
79  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Looking to Hire Crypto Trader on: March 14, 2020, 06:08:21 PM
Another issue that I see with this is that if a trader is so successful then why would they want to work for you? I can see the fact that possibly you have more liquid cash to use, thus giving the trader more cash to work with than they would personally be able to use. This might be a nice deal to a trader, but I don't see any good trader with consistent profits wanting to trade for you to maybe breakeven on what they would work with normally. Since you said project I'm guessing this is maybe like a mutual fund for cryptos you want to create?
80  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What would you do ? on: March 10, 2020, 07:21:06 PM
As a gambler I would honestly take advantage to it and bet all the money that I have and afterwards might report it to the gambling site itself but this would near impossible to happen since most of the casino or sports betting platform always consider this kind of bugs and wouldn't be able to make a mistake for this since it would cost them so much money for it.

Also they always run a beta test/mode to see if there are some bugs, etc. and sometimes they would ask some participants to join the beta and give rewards if they find a bug.
