62  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 3000 Bitcoins ATM worldwide !!!! on: May 30, 2018, 03:08:21 PM
3000 ATMs is not a lot to compare to billion of people in this world, but it's still amazing how fast it's been growing.
Still lot of work that must be done , but all hope is not lost ! It seems that several start-ups are currently working to install ATMs Bitcoins around the world . I hope it will be done soon .
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 3000 Bitcoins ATM worldwide !!!! on: May 30, 2018, 03:03:00 PM
Bitcoins distributors are increasing. Indeed, the symbolic bar of the 3 000 distributors in the world has just been crossed, and there are about six new installations each day. So the situation is changing very quickly.

This is a sign that bitcoin is becoming more famous and famous amidst the negative publicity against it. Bitcoin ATM will allow people to have an easy access to bitcoin, they can easily sell and buy bitcoins whenever they want since there are bitcoin atms anywhere. For me these machines can be a life saver sometimes.
In fact, the pace is accelerating because in less than 18 months we saw 1 000 new distributors installed. Despite the impressive fall in the value of Bitcoin, the craze remains the same, and BTC seems promised to a bright future . We all hope so !

Honestly I can't understand people who are using ATMs to buy bitcoin or any other altcoin - crypto in general. Most of the time rates are way higher than if you go and register on some exchange and trade directly. Secondly, there is no support on the spot and some ATMs even ask you to provide them with your IDs and they will take the picture even if you are buying only one time and guess what this doesn't sound like the best deal for me. You give them your ID and you overpay for the price for what? If you are going to do KYC better is to follow up and go with trustworthy exchange in my opinion.

Not all of them are allowing to buy and sell crypto-currencies ( 35%) However only half of the distributors offer anything other than Bitcoin, the Litecoin being the most popular crypto-currency.

Really, Litecoin is the most popular, that's really surprising to me. Can you share where you found those numbers?
I assume you mean that it's the most popular after Bitcoin, right?

I wish there were more ATM's in my country. We have 6 in total, spread out over 4 cities.
I hope it will exceed the 10000 bar in 2020 : until then it is not that helpful .

65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS and Cardano are better than Bitcoin on: May 30, 2018, 02:47:39 PM
If technically speaking, a lot of altcoin actually exceeds bitcoin.
However, bitcoin's status will not be affected, because bitcoin has always been a leader in the cryptocurrency market.
Cardano (ADA) and EOS (EOS) were awarded B, while Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Ripple (XRP), Stellar (XLM), and TRONIX (TRX) were gratified of a B-.However the 4 lowest rated assets are : Bitcoin Gold (BTG), Bitcoin Private (OPGT), Electroneum (ETN) and ReddCoin (RDD).
Weiss Ratings supported four criteria, but did not provide the corresponding scores for each asset:
* The risk index, which takes into account the risk of a fall in the price of the currency,
** The reward index, which attempts to estimate its potential for appreciation,
*** The technology index, which focuses on the computer code used by a digital asset,
**** The fundamentals index, which is to ask whether a crypto-active could potentially be used by many individuals.

Would the dependency on crypto-currencies become a real disease? This is what the Castle Craig Hospital in Scotland thinks. Indeed, several patients would be dependent on the trading of virtual currencies . Doctors compare this addiction to gambling dependency. They therefore use the same methods to treat them, thus helping them to take a step back from their behaviour that is not normal.

Too much of something is a poison, this saying is applicable to all kinds of activity. Humans should have a balanced lifestyle and should not engaged only in one routinary activity. This is not just for crypto addicts but to all business minded people who left their family behind and whose life has no longer room for sprititual and human freedom. Let us remember that we are important than what we are earning. Cryptocurrency is good but let us not be too much in what we do.
Especially since the trading of digital assets can be particularly attractive in the eyes of people who have addictive personalities and who seek to escape from the real world.
The question remains as to whether the program proposed by the hospital will be effective, and will help these traders to show more measure.

So this is a new method that is now being experienced to help those addicted to crypto-currencies. It will now be necessary to see whether it works or not .

72  Other / Beginners & Help / What if you lose 7500 Bitcoins worth 79 MILLION $ !!??? on: May 29, 2018, 01:39:42 PM
This happened to James Howells ,a computer specialist in crypt-currency . He actually lost 7500 Bitcoins in 2009, which today equates to about 79 million of dollars : So here's the full story : back in 2009 James was already interested in Bitcoin and had managed to mine 7 500 Bitcoins in just one week. But at that time it wasn't really an incredible performance. Then he put aside his hard drive, and forgot it.
In 2013, the price of Bitcoin increased, crossing the threshold is 100 dollars. James then searched for his hard drive, the one on which were the private keys opening the access to the portfolio containing the Bitcoins. Unfortunately, he recalled getting rid of it , he said : '' In 2009, I mined over 7 500 coins in a single week. Four years later, I put two hard disks in a desk drawer. One was empty, while the other contained my private BTC keys. I was planning to throw out the empty drive – and I accidentally threw the one that contained the information opening access to my Bitcoins. »
Grin Grin Grin  Huh Huh Huh Huh
So guys keep all your altcoins in safer place, it might be the next Bitcoin .

77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Should I invest in Monero ? on: May 28, 2018, 01:37:51 PM
This week Monero is giving a strong sales signal following the crossing by the bottom of a trend line. Currently, the support of the $160 seems to hold, but will it hold long enough? should I invest in it right now ?
78  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin & College students . on: May 28, 2018, 09:11:26 AM
I believe that a huge portion of the the crypto community are still young college students that don't have any necessities that need another source of income aside from their scholarships / the money they are getting from their parents .
And apart from spending their cryptos on either betting or purchasing goods/video games from online markets , many of these students didn't make plans for what they'll do with their coins in the future.
I myself have had many thoughts about hodling and launching a business as soon as i graduate with the coins in my possession , yet i'm not exactly sure what i'll be doing ..
So i'm really curious about :
- On what do you spend your coins apart than partying/gambling/paying for tuition loans ?
- Do you have any future plans for your coins if you are hodling any ?

Lots of universities offer a Bitcoin related courses and decentralized currencies . I think Stanford University offer these courses : Consensus protocols, transactions, elliptic curves, hash functions, regulation...
