Yeah saying that, mine also isnt up to date either but i know its running.

Running from what?

If you want crypto currency to ever be considered mainstream then it needs stability in the public eye.  If the devs can just change the way a coin is mined on a whim then what other things can they change for themselves??

As I understand it, anyone can fork to do their own flavour of evil but as long as it doesn't get picked up by the majority of miners no harm is done.

So I guess a successful fork will have community consensus and I don't see that happening if they start to 'change things for themselves'.

H2o please hire someone that knows DB programming.  The web page stats freezing multiple times a week is unacceptable when the pool owner is knocking down $4K+ day.

No, you don't understand.. This is where the magic happens Smiley

More to do with the fact you jumped down my throat because you think I have no idea what I'm doing,I haven't posted a lot, But I've been reading these forums for ages.

That wasn't me though..

Besides, I'm not a deep-throat kind of guy - I prefer the kind of friction you can only find in an unshaven armpit.

Not sure how reliable 'atiflash -i' is for this as one of my rigs would only dump the ROMs from 5 cards, the 6th didn't exist as far as it was concerned, however when I went to flash them (straight after dumping -- no reboot) it would flash the 6th. Windows detected all 6.

Weird!
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 21, 2014, 01:27:05 PM
I have been unable to get 6 cards working on a system despite trying BAMT/Win8/Win7/SMOS for like 2 days.  I had to settle with 5 cards per rig, which ultimately made me have more rigs because of not being able to have 6 cards in one.

Not directed at me, but I'll respond anyway.

The biggest surprise I had to get 6 gpus running in one rig, was that I had to use a presence detect short on slots that were described as not needing them (mb z77a g65). Oh and if you do use presence short, dont f**k up your pcie slots by forcing some extra wire into them. Simply cut & connect the appropriate wires in the riser, much simpler and less invasive. Connect B17 to ground (B16 or B18 will do just fine, no need to go to A1).

Use a win98 boot usb stick with "atiflash -i" to see if they are detected by 'the hardware'. If they are, but do not show up in windows, or report error 43, it's a driver thing. If they do not show up for "atiflash" you'll probably need a presence short. No amount of driver juggling will help you in that case.

Which OS if you don't mind me asking? I have 10 rigs with that motherboard running 6 cards on each under BAMT, and no shorts were needed.

Win 8, but that shouldn't matter as they weren't even detected by atiflash without the shorts.

Mind you, I am using 1x-1x risers for all 6 cards so perhaps that is different from your setup.

He doesn't even need a pool with the amount of power he has. He's paying 0% fees mining litecoins. That alone is 3.5%+ margin.

The diff between MC and solo LC is less than 3.5%?
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 21, 2014, 12:59:52 AM
Anyway, look up my old posts on the subject. No need to keep commenting.

I did, you're the politically (in)correct "chinaman" guy Smiley

Quick recap : you started mining 2 weeks ago and then your unique view on the interplay of the market + this pool's size + the "chinaman"s enormous hashing power, convinced the "chinaman" to leave this pool?

To go where? To mine elsewhere for less profit? I don't get it.

(also, maybe he's simply no longer listed in the stats but still mining away)

So if i was to join this pool, what can i expect? I really like the concept of being paid out directly into BTC without having to do much. Like the poster above me mentioned, that is exactly why I am ok paying his fee.

But some questions... If i start mining with say 2.2k mhash i should expect a payout once a day, as i should be able to mine enough alt coins with said hash rate in 24hours.

I realize there are some exchange delays, or so i think? So my question is how long should one be expected to wait before an initial payout? Once the 1st payout has gone through, does it become more regular (every 24hours)...

Thanks again for providing an awesome service (or so i think hehe) Grin Grin Grin

That's a lot of Frequently Asked Questions you're asking there!

I don't want him to waste his time on server issues.  I want him to concentrate on the coin trades.

Best argument so far, IMO

h2o's real name is . . . Dr. Evil-er
Altcoins quake in their boots at mere mention of his name.

Don't mention his name around the rock

I do this for a living and would appreciate a little more professionalism put into the backend.

People should be more careful about what they put in their backend.

even if H20 is stealing coins (Not saying he is), he is paying me more than i would in every other pool i've been with so far.

So he must be doing a pretty good job to pay me more and steal at the same time.

Later that night, at the police station...

"Although I was mugged, it was more personal than any other human interaction I've had so far.

So the robber must've been doing a pretty good job to make me feel less socially awkward and steal at the same time."

Nah, still doesn't sound right Smiley

it's a gpu, cli software, and really basic math.. time may be spent tweaking settings, but this is cake.. taking candy from a baby.. easiest money i've ever made.. i guarantee, without a doubt, that my setup is more complicated than others for the low 1.2MH/s max i have.. took maybe 1/2 day to setup and a days worth of coding to automate it all.. i simply don't have the problems that keep coming up here..

I mean no offense, but one rig with 1.2Mh/s? I can imagine how that would only take 1/2 day to setup and why you don't have the problems that others may have.

But unless you're running it on Chinese child labour, I don't see how that is even comparable, complexity-wise, let alone more complicated?

i have 3 HTPC's that mine only when there's no activity for 1 min..
since nvidia cuda is shared between cudaminer and video playback, cudaminer likes to crash at startup, every now and again..
i wrote the HTPC software, so i had to add code to do this...
i wrote code to remotely manage all of the miners.. auto-update settings, change pools, auto-update miner software, monitor temp, fan speed, etc..
i tunnel cpu miners over ssh, running between 98-99.5% efficiency.. tunnel's drop, there's lag, etc.. as good as it gets..
1 1/2 days total investment.. smooth sailing..
i have 5 total, just to get 1.2MH/s..

Impressive setup, but that's a completely different game you're playing Smiley

i'm making, outside of the running costs, free money for essentially putting a pc together and running software on it.. and, more free money with middlecoin.. just sitting on my lazy ass, tweaking some settings every now and again.. this cheese is easy.. really, f'n easy..

It may be for you, but that's not my experience.

I find it a lot of work keeping 4 rigs going and dealing with issues that keep coming up. I've spent countless hours on researching, building and optimizing my 'operation', I value that time a lot higher than the money I put into it.

And everytime I think "ok all is working well, back to life's other interests" sh*t just keeps coming up Smiley

So it doesn't feel lazy, not at all.

And believe you me, I do know what lazy feels like! Boy, do I know lazy!

How does he avoid these issues affecting the mining itself then (i.e. registering shares) ? I mean, that in itself sounds like a lot of DB-traffic as well.
Last time this happened, he posted his issue here: http://pastebin.com/TQ206qQj

Thanks for the glimpse. Is there another, more technical, thread about middlecoin where these things are discussed?
