61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ARE CRYPTO DONE? FIAT WINS? on: August 14, 2018, 05:34:03 PM
This time of red days, people are watching the graph and prices... are we done?
mostly holders with weak hands are starting to get panic and getting their belongings out of their wallets.
what you think? hold and grab more or let it just slip away?

Everyone has their own opinion, but i'd invite you to have a look at the history of Bitcoins price. It is absolutely ludicrous at this point to say that this is the end. The vast majority of 2017 the price was lower than it is currently, for sure people who are fairly new to this space will be cashing out and running, the smart guys are the ones who are mopping up the 'blood on the streets' and waiting patiently for the bounce.

It might fall lower but i definitely don't see this as the end. It might be over for some newer/poorer projects out there, but we have to wait and see.
62  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: To HODL or not, this is the question on: August 14, 2018, 05:10:37 PM
Every person will differ. There are multiple permutations from one person to the next.

It depends on the persons financial situation and whether they can afford to take the hit. It depends on what coins they hold and whether they were worthy of investing in the first place, or if its something like Dentacoin, BoatsandBitchescoin or WANKcoin then i don't really think you need me to elaborate on that!  Grin

I have my long term holds and if i'm honest i'm still in disbelief some of them have went as low as they have. My fault for not selling i guess. As for selling now? I don't see the point, the main damage has already been done.
63  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hey Newbies please check your ... on: August 14, 2018, 01:05:52 PM
Honestly you're best off just not even looking at it.  Even if crypto continues to bleed, the major damage has already been done. I think most of us are hoping that the projects that we are invested in don't disappear, or in the case of bounty hunters the time you spent doing the bounties wasn't wasted.
64  Economy / Speculation / Re: situation about the condition of bitcoin ! on: August 14, 2018, 09:02:20 AM
I think most of us are a little concerned. I genuinely didn't think we'd ever see these prices again- particularly the prices of some of the better alts!

The way i look at it is, if you know of coins/projects that have an actual real use case, then don't worry about it too much and buy some more!

Its also worth noting that whales will be monitoring whats going on and i don't think they want the price to capitulate too much in fear of causing permanent damage. Don't be the one who is left with empty bags when we are off on another bull run, it might take a while to recover but to sell now is ridiculous. The major losses have already happened.
65  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Canceled bounty thread? on: August 13, 2018, 08:08:29 PM
That’s the risk you run when you participate in any bounty. Some look great and tick every box that I look for, you do work for them and then....Bye bye without warning!

Not that I want to sound too negative here, but if the market stays as it is or worsens- there will be a good few more disappearing acts!

I’d suggest looking at the team, seeing how the project is funded WITHOUT having to liquidise all the ETH proceeds, and doing some serious research on a project before wasting your time.
66  Other / Off-topic / Re: Finally a Sr. 😊 on: August 13, 2018, 02:23:24 PM
Good for you buddy! It is hard ranking up for sure as a newer member, that said, i'd rather it was this way than everyone being able to rank up when they have brought nothing to the table/spammers etc. Just goes to show that you are recognised as a valued member of the site.

Congrats again.  Grin

67  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's all RED!!! This could really be the end. on: August 12, 2018, 06:08:28 PM
I'm sure there are people out there that would love to see the end of Bitcoin, but its not going to happen folks. You only have to look at the facts here. Look at how many people joined coinbase over the few months that led up to the rise in price to 20k. They dipped their toes in the water and have been burned....badly! While the people who have been here a while know all too well what happens. The sheer volume of people who have sold at a loss and exited the market and general FUD is creating widespread panic.

The most bizarre thing about all this is we are still up massively % wise over most of 2017!  Cheesy

The reality is its only going to take ONE piece of decent positive news and we are off and running again. Factor in the Bitcoin halving in less than 2 years...i think we will all regret not loading up at these prices! Just my opinion though.

Is it really the end? Only time will tell i guess!  Huh
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happened to NEO? on: August 12, 2018, 05:43:30 PM
NEO certainly has issues at the minute. That said, i still think its a great platform and there is some great innovation going on there. Like every other coin its bleeding out at the minute so you just have to invest wherever you feel comfortable. For the guys that bought the top...its going to take a while to get back to those days! Huh
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICON icx on: August 12, 2018, 05:31:22 PM
I liked ICON when it first bounced onto the scene. I liked their ideas, their vision and i liked the whole 'interoperability' that it was looking to achieve. Between ICON/WAN/AION (because of the interoperability between the 3)  i thought these were going to be a really big deal and perhaps in the future they could but its all uncertain in the market at present.

One thing that ICON have been well noted for (and one that ive liked about them) is going about their work quietly, which i think is sensible, however a lot of people like to be updated every 5 minutes which i think is pointless, unprofessional and a little childish (think TRON!  Roll Eyes)

Who knows how low it will go, but the Koreans know their stuff and i think ICX at these prices is an absolute gift. Each to his own though i guess.
70  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestions for improving the forum on: August 12, 2018, 01:36:09 PM
I joined roughly the same time as you did OP. I'm of the opinion that i don't think think it needs changed at all. This place would be archaic and an absolute ZOO if it wasn't controlled somehow.

I'ts fairly obvious what most new people come here for, so if you want to rank up and get to those levels then its only fair you should be expected to make some decent constructive posts and put some effort into actually participating in the forum, as opposed to just coming here for financial gain and offering nothing in return.

Its a two way street....unfortunately the vast majority of newbies can't quite grasp that!

71  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price LIVE:BTC in danger of dropping to $4,000 ... on: August 12, 2018, 10:58:19 AM
The simple truth is nobody truly knows what BTC can go to in the short term or the long term for that matter. I didn't think we would see some of the prices the better 'altcoins' are currently at but here we are!

Personally, i cant see it going to 4k and just think this is standard FUD from a pretty crappy newspaper.

If it does go that low then i can guarantee a lot of us here will be scooping up more  Cheesy
72  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to recognize scam on: August 12, 2018, 10:50:31 AM
The scammers are getting sneakier everyday with new methods and ways to try and rip people off.

I just think we should all use our common sense and be vigilant. If need be, ask other people's opinion on something you suspect may be a scam or if there is something not quite right about it.

Well done to the OP for taking the time to make a post which is definitely helpful to newbies on here.
73  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HODL Reminder: Bitcoin Halving is just around 650 days away on: August 11, 2018, 11:28:25 AM
This is precisely why i i'm just quietly accumulating as much as i can.  Wink

I don't care what happens in the short term, i dont care if it goes to 5k,4k,3k whatever! All i want to do is keep on accumulating every sat i can get and sending them to cold storage and i am happy to sit and wait patiently until then.

Infact, i can imagine the headlines when this is about to happen and the FOMO that it will create!

It will be a thing of beauty!  Grin
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Have You Tried beta.bounty0x.io? on: August 11, 2018, 10:48:56 AM
I'm with this platform and have been for maybe 6 weeks now, although i haven't received anything as of yet i have had 3 of my campaigns that have moved across to the accepted table, and i am just awaiting payment. With another 40-50 in the pending section.

You have to take a leap of faith with ICO's bounties, as some are inevitably going to crash and burn. I'm pretty sure these guys are legit, though it dosent do any harm to do work elsewhere and not put 'all your eggs in one basket'.

It may feel like you are 'working' for nothing when you start on this platform, because it will (in most cases) take a long time to be paid out your bounty/reward, as they are mainly paid out at the end of an ICO/token offering, some of which can last several months.

As i said i have 3 accepted so far, so if and when i get paid out i will update on here!

75  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How will atomic swops affect exchanges on: August 08, 2018, 04:05:24 PM
If Atomic swaps do indeed become the next 'big thing' then or sure exchanges are in trouble.....sort of!

As someone has pointed out already, you still need the FIAT to crypto entry point which i can't see disappearing anytime in the immediate future, so for that reason the best of the exchanges will survive, however not every crypto project is going to be instantly available to atomic swap until its proved its worth/popularity. So again, thats where exchanges use case comes in.

If Atomic Swaps became really popular, i think bigger exchanges would likely use incentives and promotions to get people to still use them. Ultimately it all points to a positive move for us as customers/consumers.

The likes of Binance and Coinbase are making absolute fortunes from people and projects....and giving little back! It seems like the 'decentralized' world is becoming Centralized 2.0!  Roll Eyes
76  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to earn MERITS? on: August 06, 2018, 06:09:38 PM
Omighty its already been explained about the sections that you're posting in, but i merited on your post history as its actually decent and not just full of bounty thread "great project" type comments.  Smiley
77  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ranking up easily. Newbie to Member in less than 2 months! on: August 06, 2018, 10:27:04 AM
Ranking up from newbie to jr member is easy cause you dont need any merits for it, but going forward to member and up you will need extra effort , you will now need merits which os hard to get these days.

@mundang, i'm in no hurry to rank up. It will happen when it happens. I think that's half of the problem on here actually, people expecting things to happen overnight and rank up quickly. Slow and steady wins the race!  Smiley

Can i also just say thanks to all that have taken something from this post, always good to hear of people being motivated.  Wink
78  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to earn a merit on: August 03, 2018, 05:07:12 PM
I was going to sit on the fence with this post as i see it from both sides of the 'argument'.

What the OP says on here i believe is part tongue in cheek/ part serious. I actually do agree with some of the OP views, i have been a victim of i'm "merit fishing" or being treated with contempt for merely having an opinion or point of view and because ive only been here a short while. Fact of the matter is i don't Merit fish. I don't particularly need it for anything, however its nice to know that someone has a positive opinion about my posts so obviously it is nice to get it when you do get it. Smiley

I do also think that there are a lot of asskissers on here. Who cosy up to senior members just to get into their good books. It actually pi$$es me off seeing that, dont get me wrong i think there are some BRILLIANT senior members on here who i think pretty much hit the nail on the head with the majority of what they say but i'm not shouting from the rooftops about them every day.

There is the flip side though. What i consider the 'old boys club' and when i see 5-10 merit getting dished out for NOTHING posts it does stick in my throat. I've made a similar post about it before which i felt needed to be said even though i could potentially damage my reputation in the eyes of some just for being honest. I don't particularly like that side of it as its simply not right and really pi$$ poor practice to newer members, some who are trying damn hard to rank up and making a good effort. Again i'm talking about a small minority here, but it makes an absolute mockery of the Merit system and discourages newer members when you see it.

Personally, i think the merit system is definitely a good thing, the conditions on here would be archaic without it. However it needs consistency and it needs to be fair. I don't think the OP has went about it in the right fashion (i.e. the use of sarcasm) though i do feel a lot of what has been said is born of frustration.
79  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [hMerits] What will happen to Bitcoin if the ETF applications are granted? on: August 03, 2018, 04:26:04 PM
Well JetCash. My opinion is that the CBOE have the greatest chance (at present) of getting the hallowed ETF pushed through, as essentially its (CBOE) going to act as an insurance to crypto and therefore bring a broader spectrum of investors to the table who will see it as a safer asset as and when the ETF gets approved.

Initially, in the first 24 hours i expect a MASSIVE spike which i couldnt put a figure on, then people taking profit and scaring all the new investors away!  Cheesy (only joking with that last bit!) I'd then expect the price to settle at a far higher low and then FOMO and renewed global coverage could take it stratospheric in the following months depending on further positive news and a real bullish market reversal.

I do think its a matter of 'when' and not 'if' with this ETF and i look very much forward to the day it happens!  Grin
80  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ranking up easily. Newbie to Member in less than 2 months! on: August 03, 2018, 03:02:04 PM

This is one of the biggest problems of the current merit system in my opinion. People keep on stakimg sMerits instead of spending them, drying out the merits in circulation. I am not sure how to solve this problem other than educate people to keep on spending sMerits (like you did). Noone will benefit if we all keep our sMerits and dont use them.

Totally agree. I find kind of hypocrite the people talking about how difficult is to earn merits and, at the same time, keeping them as a treasure (Gollum "treasure") while they are speaking about how the system should be fairer to newbies.

To the OP. I remember giving you your very first merit. Trust me, it feels nice, so, why don`t you just spare your merits and help others to rank-up? I don`t have any left, for, as soon as they come, as soon as I look for someone to award. If you have Smerits, it is also important for you to distribute them in order to help others to feel the same as you felt while receiving your very first one!! Why are you keeping them and at the same time speaking about merits?? Tss, just a question,  a legit one, I think.

Hello SEO corp, i know you have followed me from the start and i always enjoy your posts and input. I find your words always very honest yet encouraging to newer members so i always have respected you for this reason.

Again you are absolutely right, but there's certainly no malice intended with keeping these s-merits!  Grin, as i also just explained/replied to Coolcryptovator i don't really need to repeat myself as i'm sure you can read it already.

I am going to get onto it ASAP and hopefully encourage others to make an effort. I think once you see that first one you then know its possible and that people are looking at what you write and it encourages good posting behaviour.
