Interesting. I think is very good to get cash back when buying something. Whit what shops will work this project, some known shops? And in what exchange will be listed?
As far as stores that participate I have over 70 at the moment. Some big names are Amazon, Walmart (USA, Brazil & Mexico), Best Buy, Macy's, Microsoft (Latin America), Sonos, DJI, JD.com, Alibaba Cloud, Aliexpress and a bunch more. As far as exchanges go I'm going to apply to Binance, Poloniex, and Bittrex first. Those are my preferred, if I can't get in any of those I'll try HitBTC and maybe KuCoin. Top exchanges like to see a FINISHED crowdsale first to see if there is demand for the coin. I don't particularly want to go with HitBTC because the prices over there are usually not consistent with the other top exchanges. But that's the plan so far, to hti the big 3 and then scale down if needed. If things go well during the crowdsale I'll apply in 45 days so they can see the momentum. Forgive my bad English. Your English is perfect! No worries. Yes! You get 10% back in Intracoin on ALL products, not select products like with Ebates or Swagbucks. The way I was able to achieve this was to create and manage my own cryptocurrency (IntraCoin). For me to give coins to people only costs me the transaction fee which in the future can be completed free once I switch to managing my own blockchain. Using Ethereum is better for now because it requires less time and maintenance so my efforts can be better spent answering questions and marketing. If I were to offer fiat or another cryptocurrency I could only give back a little less than what these companies give me as a commission. This is why other companies only pay on certain products and pay so little. I could also only do it once they paid me and sometimes that can take up to 90 days. But by having my own, I can pay out sooner, and I can pay more generously. Hope this answers your question! |

Many of my posts have been deleted too for reasons I can't even begin to understand. The problem is the "uninteresting" part. So you could be talking about your idea for a mining company or a coin and if a moderator feels that to him/her it is uninteresting they'll delete it. Or if someone asks a question such as, "Where do you guys see bitcoin heading in the next 6 months?" If you give your opinion to that and a mod disagrees (making it uninteresting to them) they'll delete it. Many will say that's abuse of power but it's a private forum, their house, and they can block you or delete you for any reason.

Banks will say that because they see it as a threat. In the beginning stages it does have more risks as with anything, but it's in those beginning stages where people make the most money. |

An advantage of ICOs versus traditional capital raising is (though ICO investors may not want to hear this) that ICO tokens don't confer legal rights to owners, in most cases. Meaning you have much more freedom and retain more of the company's value. That's something to take into consideration as well.
LOL, ICO investors NEED to hear it as it's the truth! When it comes to traditional funding it might be less expensive initially, but they'll want your soul. I was VP of a venture capital firm, and while I could get funding from the company since I have a good relationship with the owner and understand how he thinks... they will tell you what to do and how to do things and you have to do it... even if it's wrong. Entire reason I left that industry. They're mostly old guys who don't understand the way the world works currently and insist on doing things the old way, or worse, cut corners trying to keep up in a world they no longer understand. The other thing about DAO structured crypto companies, sure, holders of the coin/token have voting rights, but it's an illusion because the owner's vote still holds all the weight... which saying that outloud I realize is no different from stock companies. I've decided to do the ICO, if for no other reason than to market the functioning businesses. That's the beauty of having a functioning service beforehand, 1. You don't need to raise as much money so you have a smaller soft cap. and 2. Even if it's "unsuccessful", more people now know about your business which generates more money anyway, so it's a win win. I also decided to find more companies that have established businesses that will agree to accept IntraCoin as payment. Because it's great to get crypto as cashback, but what then? Granted it offers discounts on services at Indygoart, but what if you don't need any art? Which is the case for most people. So it's pretty worthless. So I have some ideas of people to reach out too. Going to start with friends of mine who already own businesses. If I could get at least 5 companies that agree that sell things the average household buys at least once per year before the ICO then I think we'll be ready for prime time. Soon online shopping will be the norm... we've seen this trend since the mid 2000's. What we really need (and is something I'm thinking of building) is a way to shop at all retailers and use cryptocurrency, whether the retailers accept the coin or not.

ICO is only good if you (as the developer) want to make some auick money without doing much and then going away to next one. This is correct if it's a pump and dump. This isn't, and 7 months of non-stop developing has gone into this already. Not exactly quick money, and more work needs to be done. No ICO:

wrong. it would be worth more only if you advertise it more and pump it initially. OR if you are creating a really unique cryptocurrency that can interest people enough to actually buy it because they know it is a useful coin not just another altcoin being added to thousands of already existing coins! Price per coin is dictated by the seller of the coin. Volume is dictated by the interest of the coin. Low volume usually = lower price. What I was saying, if there is no ICO and I market it and then release it into the wild, everyone would have to buy the coins from me at whatever price I set. The coin has competition as it's a rewards coin, but it has advantages over the others. The problem that all rewards coin face is this... USING THEM. Who is accepting the coin? Before I go live, whether it's ICO or not, I'm going to build relationships with companies that will promise to accept it as payment first. This will really stand out form the others. - Can manage the roll-out of coins to be sold on market as everyone would have to buy coins from me initially.
if by this you mean a pre-mined altcoin then your project loses a lot of its value right here... That completely depends on the utility of the coin. To save a debate here I'll just leave it at that. But I will say this POS coins are preferred. - Coin would have more stability and likely be less volatile
that is not something that you can control with or without ICO. even bitcoin (which is the biggest of all by a big margin) is not stable. It is absolutely something you can control. USDT is a great example of that. So is BNB. Even apart from those, there are other ways to regulate volatility once a coin is initially listed on an exchange, and that is what I'm talking about. That initial nose-dive most coins make int he beginning. That is what i want to avoid solely for the benefit of the supporters and HODLers. CONs

the only thing i can say is this: Satoshi is a billionaire and he never premined bitcoin and he never ran an ICO. what he did was that he created a useful thing and worked on it to grow it more. Those are good points and off course your No ICO analysis is good as well.
However this is crypto space and it completely void when new coin is formed. To be frank they do need lot of money to work on the prototypes, real modelings, and further products and services development. When ICO is offered they are actually from the companies which starts with scratch. So the only funding source that they get is the ICO.
Even with the real world IPO concept is very popular when it comes to the setting up of start u businesses. IPO is just Initial Public Offering where company proved stocks with very tiny rates.
So you can imagine why ICO is important as well as it could be confusing too.

I'm trying to decide whether to have an ICO or not. Here are the Pros and Cons
Have ICO:
PROs
- Can raise money for the company
- Less risk for company
CONs
- Coin will likely have less value
- Coin will likely tank as soon as listed on exchange due to investors taking profits
- HODLers will have to HODL longer to make good returns
No ICO:
PROs
- Less work as I wouldn't have to build out a site, code crowdsale (even though it's already done), wouldn't have to market
- Coin could be worth more as I could establish value by purchasing assets before being listed on exchange.
- Can manage the roll-out of coins to be sold on market as everyone would have to buy coins from me initially.
- Coin would have more stability and likely be less volatile
- People wouldn't lose value due to whales and bounty hunters taking profits immediately.
CONs
- More risk for company as I may not earn enough through sale of tokens on exchange.
- Company will likely raise less money overall.
That's as far as I could get. Writing it all down and basing it solely on the number of pros vs cons it would seem to go the non-ico route. However, the weight of the fact of not raising enough money is serious enough to still consider having an ICO. If I establish value, but no one buys the token once listed on the exchange, the company can't progress. Making it worthless anyway and those who sold me the assets would lose. It would seem the wisest way to go about things is to have a crowdsale even though we know people will sell-off immediately. I'm thinking at this point of experience, most of us are aware of this anyway and will wait a bit to buy right after the exchange listing.... but again, lol, if not enough people invest into the ICO the company is at a stand-still, (even though I don't need much to finalize and run the company).
What do you guys think? I think I'm over-analyzing this.

Indeed - I think investors in the blockchain space have seen too many grandiose concepts over the last few years, and too little implementation. So, even though you seem like a competent and reasonable entrepreneur to me (though I could be wrong  ), you might be better off if you create the impression that your ventures are managed by an equally competent team instead of just yourself. And absolutely do stress the existence and the success of the businesses that are already up and running in any whitepaper or presentation! This will set you apart from the competition. You're welcome! For the sake of transparency, you should know that my answers are based on second-hand experience and projects done for our clients; I have never acquired funding myself. Awesome info thanks! I have a question, those companies you provided help to, I assume it was with Whitepapers? Did those companies go on to have ICOs'? I'm going to revamp my presentation of this project to highlight eGoods and IndyGoArt for now. I'll bring up the other businesses once the first two are well-oiled machines with good staff in place. It'll give the perception of progression as opposed to meeting deadlines. Which may (or may not) give a boost to the coin's value. But here is my other dilemma... I don't know whether I should have an ICO or not. I don't think half of these companies are REALLY raising the money their counters say they do or even securing the private funding they say they secured. We have no proof of it, and with poorly coded crowdsales you can loop money raised to make it meet the soft cap. So I'm not sure how successful my ICO would be in terms of raising money.... while I have a contingency plan for that, I don't want to waste time. Furthermore, if I do have an ICO, we all know the drill once the coin is listed... it tanks in value due to people selling off... I just don't want people to lose out like that. If I don't have one, I can establish value by purchasing assets and then get listed on exchanges. This way I can establish a strong price for each coin and investors SHOULDN'T have to worry about value tanking from sell-offs. I still plan to have a bounty program but it will have strict regulations where participants won't begin to receive their coins until 30 days AFTER the coin is listed on an exchange. Once tokens start to be dispersed, they'll be dispersed in phases, so everyone doesn't get them at the same time. This is the best way to maintain value and prevent FUD. What's your opinion on ICO vs no ICO? Having no ICO I obviously may not raise as much money, but then again... I MIGHT! Since all the tokens listed would have to be sold to the market by me. I can raise money that way. Seems more fair this way but risky for me. |

Why not focus on getting one of the five businesses off the ground first?
I'll go back and edit my post to mention at the beginning, that egoods and indygoart are both fully operational. I mentioned that in the last sentence. I also in the middle of the post, posted their websites. I appreciate your response though. Perhaps I should only market one business as it's clear talking about all of them can be potentially confusing. No, I've understood that you are not starting all of them from scratch.  Still, I have found it quite a challenge to start two businesses spaced one year apart, so your plan still seems quite ambitious. YMMV. Good points. What I didn't mention was I've done all of these businesses before. I'm just taking old experience and blending it with Crypto. You do make very valid points as with most people this would be an extreme challenge. People have asked how I was able to get relationships with Walmart, etc. so quickly and it's because I've had a relationship with them for over 10 years. But eGoods is something I could run myself. I will eventually need an employee or two to manage the rebates as the site becomes more popular. As for Indygoart. I'm playing an advisory role in that. Jason and James have been in the production business for over a decade individually. It's about 25 years' experience there between them both. Both want to focus more on management and education now so it made sense to partner all up and build one business. So that one won't require a lot of time, and it'll be easier as they already have clientele. So it's more of a merging of two successful businesses. As for Hamrick Hotels, the act of running an AirBnB type of hotel will be new, but the real estate acquisition and renovations is not new to me at all and something I enjoy. But I plan to spend 2-3 years perfecting this business. Then I will move on to Sourcing Motors... Sourcing Motors won't be anything new as I used to be an auto broker for a few years. The new aspect will be the rentals, but I planned on leveraging Turo to ease my way into that. Once I got the hang of that, I'd apply IntraCoin payments and discounts with that business. Last is the Co-working spaces. Totally new, which is why it's dead last. Overall this is like an 8-10 year plan more or less. I have vast experience in most cases, but I'm giving myself room for the areas I have no experience in. Also, I have managed employees before.... that can hold up the process as well. In many cases, employees don't share your vision, they just want to be paid. So that takes time injecting the right kind of employees. Me mentioning all of the companies is more like giving everyone a long-term roadmap of the entire Enterprise I'm building. eGoods is phase 1 and will get all the focus initially. Indygoart doesn't need much of my hands in it. I just structured it for them. Do you think I would do better just marketing eGoods for now? From my perspective I don't see it as being ambitious FOR ME. But everyone doesn't know me and my experience so I have to take that into consideration.
