Sorry but GDAX.us is a scam

The real GDAX, (which belong to Coinbase) switched to "Coinbase Pro" https://pro.coinbase.com/ (they changed the name Source: GDAX is now Coinbase Pro).
Also, the domain was .com not .us and on its website, the About Us Page is filled with fake photos

Here are a few conversations about GDAX.us

64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: where do you trade your Altcoin? on: April 25, 2019, 10:45:13 AM
I mostly just use Binance, they have a wide range of coins listed and they seem to be trustworthy.  I still don't leave a large amount of crypto on any exchange though.  If you don't hold the private keys they aren't really your coins.

Yes you should not keep a lot of funds on exchanges, check out this exchange, where you can compare the prices offered from leading exchanges - and trade using best rates or by using exchange of your choice, you send funds from your wallet and and receive back in your wallet.  Trade 400+ coins without KYC or Login.

65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Top Cryptocurrency Wallet for the New Binance Coin on: April 25, 2019, 09:29:39 AM
As we all know that BNB Has moved to Its Main Net, here is a list of Top Wallet Supporting the New BNB Token -

#1 Ledger Nano S
Ledger Nano S is one of the popular wallets which supports over 1000 digital assets and is supporting the mainnet BNB token as well. Ledger Nano is a secured crypto hardware wallet, which lets you store, transfer, receive and send BNB tokens. Ledger Nano S comes with proper backup and recovery feature, which makes it one of the most sought out wallets for BNB. The best part is that Ledger is very updated with the technologies and updates. The user must be updated with the Binance wallet address.

#2 Guarda Wallet
Guarda is a multicurrency wallet, which is not having a secure web wallet, but also known for its secure mobile wallets, and is considered as one of the best BNB wallets android. BNB mainnet release has happened just a couple of days before and Guarda is one of the very first wallets to update and integrate the same. Guarda is comparatively easier to set up and can be recommended for both beginners and experts, hence known as one of the best BNB wallets iOS

#3 Atomic Wallet
Atomic Wallet is a decentralized wallet which is available for Mac, Windows and Linux operating systems, hence you don’t have to shift your operating systems. Atomic wallet is one of the first ones to upgrade its technology with the BNB mainnet update. Atomic wallet is having a very friendly UI, which is why it's been preferred amongst all sorts of users, be it beginners, or experts.

Note: Watch out this space as since I will keep adding more and more wallets here.

Like to know how far is adoption spreading... Tell us what you have used crypto to pay for and what platform!!
How easy was the process?
have been using bitcoin and ethereum to pay for my phone bills
I actually do it to support the use of crypto as a currency

In my recent trip to Singapore I have used, many cryptos as a currency, I even paid in DAI while purchasing tickets to Universal Studios.

68  Economy / Economics / Re: How can we get people to use bitcoin as a currency? on: April 25, 2019, 08:47:25 AM
How can we get people to use bitcoin as a real currency and not just a quick way to get cash as a lot of people seem to do? When I say currency, I mean the literal definition of currency as something that is used as a medium of exchange.
Even online, there are only a few stores who are accepting it as payment.

I must share what I think should be the right approach to solve this problem,

When you use MasterCard or visa card, or when you use PayPal do you have to learn the underline tech in it?
Do you even want to know how does the process happens?

We all need to be highly tech focused, where as most of the companies currently are only money driven, investment driven, and no one knows what is happening and why is it even happening. It's all hype driven, emotions driven. If you first build a proper technology where even a local vendor gets benefited by using bitcoin, s/he will accept payments in cryptos.

There are many other factors, like price fluctuation, but stable coins will surely solve this problem. So may be bitcoins may not be accepted but stable coins would surely be accepted as payments, I recently travelled to Australia and payed in dash at many places, similarly in Universal Studios in Singapore many vendors accepted cryptocurrencies. So the acceptance will come by one day at a time.
69  Other / Serious discussion / Re: On altcoins announcements on: April 25, 2019, 08:38:48 AM
There is something really troubling when I visit the most visited section of this website(Altcoins Announcements), every single thread looks the same and has no interesting feature but builds up expectations and promises. There are so many tokens I lost count, why every single person believes to be special? Like they got to do something better, they must be the lions, every single currency is now "a next generation" cryptocurrency. Every single team has "10+ years of experience" despite doing a shitcoin nobody will care about.

Where all these people come from? Why people have to release a shit product only for the sake of releasing something unique about themselves? Is it just a big scam scheme? Someone should tell them they are not revolutionary, they are not special, they are just the next shitcoin on the asian market of sand castles. Those will never set the future only trash the present.

Remember that quality is always better than quantity, this is just a rant

There are two problems associated with this -

First, I think every forum and community has this problem, even reddit and twitter has these problems, but they allow the spamming upto some extent.

Second - in cryptos specially has this problem where users are not matured, there is a very small set of people in the world who understand crypto, so companies are selling crazily, where as they even do not whom they are selling, they are just doing it for the sake of it. ICOs reaised a lot money, so they are now spending lavishly on craze marketing, therefore there is spamming.

71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Easier way to trade AltCoins Listed on IDEX Exchange. on: April 25, 2019, 02:42:03 AM
Is this some sort of multi exchange platform? It is weird how it works on both centralized exchanges like cryptopia/binance and decentralized exchanges like  idex.
Is it a decentralized platform?
Will likely use this one day. .
Bookmarked.

Ucy you are a senior member of the forum and I am sure you have more knowledge then what I have about this ecosystem, I want to tell you that I also entered in crypto back in 2017, but I was tired of creating accounts at multiple exchanges and I thought of creating such a system for myself, and I started comparing prices using APIs offered by multiple exchanges. And here we are with https://coinswitch.co/, we have both centralised decentralised exchanges with us, concept is you can compare the price, trade 400+ coins, 450000+ pairs through us, and there is no need of KYC or even LOGIN.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Easier way to trade AltCoins Listed on IDEX Exchange. on: April 25, 2019, 02:38:44 AM
Thanks for sharing this site with use but I have some dark questions on my mind. Why the exchange rate is higher than the normal exchange offered rates? Is there any KYC requirement on this site?

There are absolutely no requirement of KYC or even login on https://coinswitch.co/ , you can trade anonymously, we are an exchange aggregator service, you can find the rates from Changelly, Binance, Huobi, HitBtc, ChangeNow, Swaplabs, Blocktrades etc through us. in case of some exchanges we charge the exchange fee from the exchange itself, and in case of some exchanges we charge from customers a fee 0.25% - 0.50%. But you get to see the best rates, and trade 400+ coins anonymously from one single platform.

74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Easier way to trade AltCoins Listed on IDEX Exchange. on: April 24, 2019, 01:02:42 PM
It is maybe a little bit easier but there is another middle man who asks for a fee.

I would prefer doing a little bit more work and not paying any middle man.

https://coinswitch.co provide added benefits, when you trade through them, you can compare the prices offered by many exchanges all at one place, also aggregators are evolving in every industry, that ways you get to buy/sell by comparing the prices, you can refer to this image from coinswitch, for a standard ETH/BTC pair.

What I don't like is the tag about the recommended exchanges that they put to the first line. It looks like they are paid to promote the Changelly.com, so it is normal to see Changelly on the recommended list.

No not at all this is not the case, the recommended exchange list keep changing as the prices offered by them vary, for every trade pair there is a recommended exchange. All exchanges are our partner and we are not shilling any one of them through our platform. You may please create an order of a small amount on https://coinswitch.co/, we try our best to provide seamless trading experience to our users, and we are also trusted by many leading crypto companies all across the world. You can check us listed in Metamask, TREZOR , Exodus etc.

Yes it is free to use, we charge a fee of 0.25% - 1% of your order worth, and yes you can use our APIs - https://developer.coinswitch.co/

Many leading companies of crypto industry are using our APIs - exodus - https://blog.coinswitch.co/coinswitch-fixed-rate-exchange-is-now-on-exodus-wallet-18264e77acde

What if the wallet you are using is not included in your list? Do I need to create my account? If that so, creating multiple accounts is not solved at all. Maybe I should trust the best exchange in the market. But for the mean time, maybe I could try it and compare prices of coins that I HODL, then proceed to transfer of funds if it turns out to be my favor.

Hi alexandra, sorry for the delayed response, we are a non custodial exchange and we do not have wallets with us, i.e we do not store anyone's funds, so when you create an order on CoiinSwitch, you send coins from your wallet, and receive the coins back into your wallet after conversion. But recently we launched this facility where you can login in your metamask directly and trade from CoinSwitch, please check them out -https://coinswitch.co/wallet-exchange/

Second you do not to create account, nor you need to login or do KYC, so your problem to create multiple accounts is solved. We won't say we are the best, but yes we try to provide best services to customers, you can read some of reviews shared by users on TrustPilot - https://www.trustpilot.com/review/coinswitch.co
